Hello!
I'm late to the game in getting this PJ started. I've tried a few times and when inputting pictures it never worked, so I've given up twice already. But I've gained SO much from reading everyone's PJ's and TR's and wanted to take part! So bear with me with the pictures and my overuse of exclamation marks; you've been forewarned!
The basics: I'm Jennine, and he's Philip.
We met in high school and came to be pretty good friends in the halls and over the good ole' ICQ (remember the days?? He even made an ICQ reference in my yearbook...LOL).
He was a terrific friend, and I've always said that boys and girls can't be just friends! On our first date, we went skating, and it all progressed from there. He makes me feel like a princess - on our first anniversary he rented out an entire skating rink just for us - a homage to our first date!
We've been together for seven and a half years :goodvibes . I know, it sounds like he waited forever to propose, but we were only 18 when we started dating - there was school and jobs to get on the go! Mind you, I'm still working on the job part - I'm a French Substitute teacher and waiting for this year's job posting to come out in the hopes that I can get something this year.
Oddly enough, Disney wasn't my first choice. I was all set to head to Vegas and get 'er done! Philip really wanted his family there though, and that didn't fit my Vegas idea. We go to Disney every two years with his family, so when I stumbled upon DFTW, I KNEW it was us. I tell everyone that the fairy tale wedding is my "compromise." Heh! :rotfl2:
We're getting married on February 15, 2011 at Sea Breeze Point, with a lunch reception at The Attic. I'm hoping for a Dessert Party, and Philip is waiting for money to grow on trees before he agrees to it. We have 22 on our guest list right now, and many family members telling us what they really think about us leaving them off of our list. :rolleyes1
I've really enjoyed reading everyone's PJ's and TR's, like I said before, so a big thank you to everyone! It really helped when I couldn't do anything but wait...and wait...and wait. I'm SURE you'll see inspiration from all of you in my posts ;)
(and if anyone can help with the pictures...I'd love to show my dress! And us! I've put my pics on photobucket and used the little mountain icon, and they always come up with a little box and a broken icon in them. Grrr. I'd ask DF, since he's a programmer and actually KNOWS stuff, but I don't want him coming back to this page!)

Can't wait to hear all of your wedding plans! We are up in the air about a dessert party too. We are doing a morning wedding so not sure if that would be too long of a day for everyone :confused3

This is what we used for our Save the Dates. We wanted something simple and easy...we had Philip's mom take our pictures down the Village near where he grew up, stripped them like an old fashioned photo booth strip, then threw a magnet on the back. We just wanted to get the word out there to people. We actually originally TRIED to just go to a photo booth...DISASTER! But the result was a hilarious keepsake just for us. Man those photo booths are small!

Annnddd the dress! Obviously that's not me lol. I haven't been photographed in the dress. I know it's a weird thing, I just don't want to be until the wedding day. Mind you, I've shown the dress to just about everyone (no boys!). The dress "story" - my BF and I went out just to "take a look"...um, two weeks after DF proposed! Take a look my butt...of course I had to try on! We went to one store and I hated everything. Moved on to the next...we walked in, and there was a girl with this dress on. My BF looked at me, pointed at her, and said "That girl needs to take that dress OFF, and you need to put that dress ON!" :rolleyes1
I told her she could arrange that :rotfl2:
I put it on and cried, and she cried, and that was it. Didn't mean to find the dress that quickly! I held off ordering it for a few months because I didn't want to make a rash decision. We went to all of the Bridal Shows in town and a few other stores, just looking. I didn't even want to try anything else on, so I went back and the dress was gone! :headache:
After my panic attack the woman told me they could still order it in, thank goodness. Word of advice - save your heart attack and order the dress when you find it!

I was really surprised when DF agreed to pink for the wedding. PINK! :lovestruc He claims that it's "very me". Alrighty then!
So we're going with Pink, Black, and White.
The guys are wearing black suits with pink/white/black striped ties. I think the groomsmen are going to have pink pocket squares, but DF will have a pink flower instead.
My girls are wearing:
http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae70/neener3/Wedding%20Planning/Summer2010059.jpg
and back:
http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae70/neener3/Wedding%20Planning/Summer2010058.jpg
I swear, my BM was happy, we were just hungry!
And for the flowers for myself, I want something like this (which I stole from...somewhere! It might have been someone's report on the old Franck's)
http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae70/neener3/Wedding%20Planning/IMG_0976.jpg
My girls will carry white flowers (gerber daisies too I think), because if we try to go with the pink, we'll NEVER match the dress, but it'll look like we tried and failed. I keep saying to people "No, I want it to all GO, but if we try and match and don't succeed it'll look like we tried too hard and still failed." Nobody seems to understand what I mean :confused3
Oh well, I get my own vision!
We're not doing much of anything else for decor. SBP is SO beautiful on it's own, and we frankly don't have the budget! Hot pink aisle petals will be it I think.
Next on the to-do list: finalizing the ceremony for Rev. Jack Day and choosing a menu...eeks!

I've been a bad updater...there hasn't been too much going on, which is what I wanted with our wedding! :lmao:
Until I decided to change....a lot.
When we decided on our DFTW, our (okay MY) big wants were Sea Breeze Point, MK shoot, and a dessert party. DF wanted SBP as well (actually it was the only location he liked, so that worked well), he gave in on the MK shoot (after nearly passing out at the price), and told me I could have my dessert party if I got a job this year and paid for it myself (I'm a teacher). Hmph. :headache:
We went back and forth and back and forth on what to do for a "reception", for our Escape wedding. We first discussed just having a dinner at a restaurant and footing the bill. But then we got a little worried about a few big drinkers we have coming (out of 20, about 6 drink...but drink they will...), and when we brought it up to people a few insisted they would be paying their own bill... It just got to a point where I found The Attic, loved it, and knew we could pay for it and nobody would have a choice. DF HATED the idea of people paying for their own meals at our wedding.
So there we were.
But then I didn't get a job this year. I truly thought that I would, I speak French and thought it wouldn't be difficult considering the shortage of immersion teachers. Then there weren't as many jobs offered this year. :headache: There went my dessert party....
But then came free dining! And everyone booked and got free dining (except two, but that's a whole other story...you can lead a herd to water but you can't make them drink...). So I began to think....well their food is free now ANYWAY. DF could see the wheels turning in my head and he didn't like it! :rotfl2:
With just over 4 months to go we cancelled The Attic today and booked a dessert party! We're keeping SBP, having an early dinner at a restaurant...somewhere...any suggestions? We need to move on that. And then having our dessert party. I'm soooooooo happy. Of course I came up with this brilliant plan on Friday night so I sat on pins and needles all weekend waiting to hear if there was availability!
Yay!:cool1:

The time is just FLYING. With under 4 months to go, I haven't been doing much updating. But truthfully, there's not much to do! Which is exactly what I wanted from the beginning. I have my phone floral meeting this week, and while I thought I had it all figured out, I'm kind of flipping and flopping. We'll see. I don't really think my flowers are THAT important anyway.
So things are moving along. Only 2 people have yet to book (seriously, what's taking them so long...FREE DINING, move on it!). We're all set to invade Pop Century from Feb 11-21. Some leave the 18th, some the 19th, and we check out of Pop and into AKL on the 19th. Thanks to everyone booking we got 2 free nights!
We had my bridal shower two weeks ago, so that's over and done with! There were people travelling so we wanted to have it before the snow and bad weather started. One of DF's great-aunts showed up (I guess DF's mom invited her?), and burst into tears because she wasn't invited to the wedding. Thankfully, I was in another room at the time and never even noticed. I never would have known about it if DF's stepmother hadn't told me - seriously, I needed to know? No thanks. I'm not sure why this great aunt came if she was upset - I didn't invite her and she had already picked a fight with me at another wedding during the summer about it! At this other wedding, she told me I was rude, and mean, and she was going to show up anyway. I tried to be polite at first and do the whole "well you got to have your wedding and do what you want, and we want a small wedding, we can only have 20 people", but it escalated to "YOU'RE NOT INVITED!!! You CAN'T COME!" in the middle of DF's cousin's wedding reception. Argh. So there was drama at my shower, but I didn't know about it until afterwards. I'm hoping we don't see her until after the wedding now. Beyond that, it was a great time!
Here I am with DF's niece - we love her and wish she could come to the wedding!
http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae70/neener3/Wedding%20Planning/061.jpg
DF showed up at the end to thank everyone and help me load stuff into the car (who does he think he's kidding, we all know he came for cake!)

The cake!

With my MOH and bridesmaid - they're doing my "head tilt". In my bridesmaid's wedding pictures this summer (the one in green), my head is at least slightly tilted in EVERY. SINGLE. PICTURE. Either that, or I'm giving her sister a nasty look, because she basically ruined her wedding. Which is a whole other story...anyway, the head tilt picture.

Photobucket is being wonky tonight - gah! My images are way bigger than they're supposed to be, even after resizing them. But my shoes are important :lmao:, so I'm still going to post pictures!
I took a gamble ordering these online. I have really wide feet, but my heels are skinny. AND I couldn't find any pink shoes that I liked in Halifax. So I bought these online and I. LOVE. THEM.
I was playing around with my shoes, our rings, and my headband. My cat thought he'd make an appearance and try to play with my headband. Mmhmm.

We're under 100 days! :scared1:
Okay, I'm not really scared, but DF and I were saying that it feels like we JUST got engaged. He proposed on Christmas Day last year and it was such a whirlwind day, and everyone was so excited. It feels like yesterday. I was so frustrated that I had to wait until the 8 month mark to book - well it sure went by fast!
I made a list of wedding things to do and it's not very long!
- Marriage license (can't forget that one!) It would be SO like me to be all commando about the trip and forget the most important thing...
- Bridesmaid and Groomsmen gifts. I have no idea here.
I started a Disney bag for my girls and was really good at picking stuff up for it at first...but now they have...a bag, a tshirt, and a mug. HA! I think I need to beef that up a little. As for the groomsmen, well when I asked DF what he was planning on getting them he said "A gift? Are you kidding me? Can I just give them...a golf ball? They like golf." :rotfl2: So...um, yeah, I think I'll be taking care of those.
- Pick hair and makeup inspiration pics. So HERE I was allll set...and then one night I set my computer on a footstool to grab the remote, and the stupid thing fell on the floor. :headache: DF's reaction when he got home from hockey was "Good, I hated that computer." Alas, that money tree never did start growing out back, so that came from the wedding fund....
- Take computer to see if we can get the documents from the hard drive (the computer won't even start up), because I was all ahead of myself and had our ceremony written out! ARRRGGGHHH.
- Pick Dessert Party menus. When do people do this? Should I have done this already? Ah well, it'll get done. We love food, it won't be too hard.
That is all that is on my list. I'm sure I'm forgetting something. Ah well. DF thinks I'm CRAZY because my suitcase is already full....but it's not PACKING, it's putting away my summer clothes. In a suitcase. Folded nicely, separated by the day. With options for cold. He'll pack the night before while I hover. Let's be honest, I'll pack for him because I won't be able to stand it. In fact, maybe his summer clothes will get "put away" tomorrow. Although it has been warm; we've been wearing shorts this week.
We paid off our trip! DF's outfit for the wedding is all set, right down to the socks! I need to borrow the jewelry from the friend who said would lend me hers from her wedding. All of our spending money is changed over and in the lock box. I'm wagging my finger at friends and family who haven't gotten their passports yet. 2nd newsletter has been sent out, with finalized ADR's.
I feel so confident in my choice with a Disney wedding. This is the stress-free, all prepared wedding that I wanted.

Thanks! Oh the dinner. LOL.
When I was trying to figure it out, I posted on the restaurant section for suggestions. A lot of people suggested signature restaurants, and it just wasn't what I wanted. I didn't want our guests to use two credits, and I also wanted something a bit more low-key.
Someone suggested Chef Mickey's and I loved the idea. It's casual, relaxed, very us. And I'll get pictures with characters! Anyway, I got people who actually seemed offended that I would "subject guests to sub-par food in an atmosphere that is NOT wedding appropriate"....or something along those lines, anyway. Whatever. I asked Philip if he thought it was lame and he looked at me like I was crazy, and asked me since when do I care what people think about our wedding! True enough.
Chef Mickey's it is. Yes, it's a buffet and it's buffet food. Yes, I will be making someone else get my food for me, since I'm not walking around the food in my dress! :rotfl: Yep, some people think it's lame. I seriously considered changing it, but our guests think it's cool and I love it.
Ah well. I did find it kind of crazy that people would be so up in arms about it!

Here's the thing. I got my dress AGES ago. I refused to squeeze myself into a dress that was too small and promise myself I'd lose weight. So I got the dress that fit right then and there. Smart, right?
But then I started Zumba. You want to lose weight? Do zumba. Seriously. I went to the doctor, who weighed me, and I had lost 16 pounds without trying. I mean, I was going to zumba to do something active with a friend, but even though I have weight I can afford to lose I wasn't GOING to lose weight, kwim? That 16 pound loss was over a month ago, and I've since tightened my belt a notch. We don't own a scale...I don't know what I'm down to, but my pants now come right off if I don't put a belt on.
My friend and I signed up for Saturday mornings, and then signed up for that PLUS Tuesday evenings starting January 11th. It's already paid for and all that.
My dress is too big. :scared1:
What do I do? The wedding is February 15th, and I'll be going twice a week for a month beforehand. Do I take it to get altered early January? Late January? Eat a ton over Christmas? :lmao:
Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled. Just...bah. It's a lace up, but I can GRAB the fabric on my hips, and it's supposed to hug.

That's the one thing you have to watch on here - too many people get horrendously offended at our unconventional choices...when I had originally picked HDDR and said my guest were paying for their tickets people on here FLAMED me! But my family stood by it and thought it was a fantastic idea!!
I love Chef Mickeys and thing it's a great idea!! It'll be a blast for you guys, enjoy every second of it!!

Thanks! I love Zumba. Dessert Party menu time!
I thought I'd put it up since I loved reading about everyone's food. We just picked a menu that we liked and substituted a few things.
Tiramisu
Cheesecake
Chocolate ιclairs
Tarpon Springs Baklava
Chocolate Fudge Brownies
Linzer Diamonds
Cream Horns
Fruit Tarts
Fresh Fruit Display with Biscotti and Warm Chocolate Ganache
Fruit Punch
Coffee, Decaffeinated Coffee, and Selection of Teas
Flavoured Syrups and Sticks, Sugars, Cream, and Honey
Yummmmmmm....we've told our guests and they're saying "So we have cake...and then we have supper...and then you're plumping us up with all of THAT?!". Yes...yes, we are. At least they're easy to please ;)
I thought about putting in the rice crispie mickey's, but didn't for this round. I think we're a bit under budget so that's something I'll save if we need to be topped up.

We were in the drive thru for Tim Horton's yesterday, and Philip turns to me and says "So...we're getting married next month!" :scared1: I had been counting the days, but when you put it like that! :woohoo:
If you can believe it....we left the marriage license to the last minute. Whoops. It's gone, so hopefully it gets back in time. I should probably be stressed about that!
We had a few changes in budget. I decided to cut the aisle petals, which were 65 dollars. We added 3 vans from The Contemporary to Dessert Party instead, for 75 dollars. I just had visions of DF's Grammie and Mom going to the main gate, not International Gateway, and then people being upset with me. Yeah, I'm not worried about the marriage license, but I'm worried about THAT. We also added photography for our dessert party. We had about 221 left to make our $7500 minimum, so we're a bit over now. Ah well. I thought about adding Epcot to our MK shoot but the general vote went for Dessert Party photography. :goodvibes
SO! We've had MANY changes. We're now:
- Being made over by Patricia LeJeune in the am (myself and my two bridesmaids).
- At Sea Breeze Point at 2:30 pm, with Rev. Jack Day officiating. We're getting there via the limo drop offs and having one van pick up those not in the bridal party.
- Having light pink gerbers as my bouquet, and my two girls will have small bouquets with the same pink + white daisies. As long as they're the right sizes with no greenery, I'm good.
- Having cake and no toasts on site at SBP (we didn't want to put the pressure on people + we have a lot of non-drinkers...and some that I don't WANT drinking.)
- Heading over to Chef Mickey's for dinner! We might all take the bus. I know we'll still have the limo, so we might send everyone else off via bus...we'll see! I'm not sure I'll be able to eat from excitement lol. Somebody will definitely be getting my food for me, as I'm not going near the buffet in my white dress. ;)
- Having vans take us from Chef Mickey's to the DP @ UK Lower.
- Heading back to Pop Century via bus!
- Up the next morning for MK shoot. I am not doing a floral refresh since it's the next day. If they're not good, I won't use them. I won't be broken hearted about it. We haven't heard that our time slot has change at all. Karen did confirm that times were changing and that if we are affected photography would be in touch. I figure we'll hear soon if we are.
- Back to nap! :rotfl::rotfl: Before AK that afternoon/evening (it's DF's aunt's 50th birthday that day.)
I requested Amy or Regina for our photography. I know they're not guaranteed. I feel very zen about this since my one floral freak out. Karen's been great, and I'm pretty confident everything will go off without any major hitches. A bit worried about the weather, but meh.
Oh! And I paid for the Just Married pins! LOL. Now if only I could find a darn top hat...

Had to post, because UPS showed up at my door with luggage tags this afternoon!:banana::banana:
Have I mentioned that my aunt and uncle STILL haven't booked? 35 sleeps. I'm not impressed (well, about them not booking, I'm THRILLED about the 35 sleeps).

I thought I'd post our revised BEO. It really helped me when I was starting to look to see people's, so here goes! Keep in mind we haven't customized anything - regarding decor. It'll be pretty bare bones. We thought about what would be important to us and our family, and came up with food, photos, and transport. So that's where our money went!
It was too big for one snipping tool, so it's in two pictures because I had to snip in twice :)

Here we go! We are officially at the stage where I'm getting stressed. Remember the zen? Yeah....not so much! I started a temporary job (until May), and the combination of getting to know 175 students plus last minute wedding stuff is turning me into a crazy person. Oops.
My girls came over Friday night to put me in my dress. SO. Much. Fun. I wish everyone could have seen them behind me lacing me up. I think I might video it on the wedding day :rotfl:. They laced me up and decided that the lacing wasn't good enough, so undid the whole thing to "make it prettier". I have good friends lol. The verdict? I have an appointment January 25th to have it taken in. I asked them to be very honest with me (they're so tiny!), and one of them grabbed all of the fabric in the back. Alright then. The top part is fine because it's lace up, but the hips are not so good. They balloon.
Wedding payment is officially gone through. Done.
My aunt and uncle FINALLY booked! :cool1: I was really starting to think that they weren't coming and just didn't want to tell me. Which would have made me super angry, because we could have had someone else come in their place! But they booked last week, yay! So everyone is in and I can breathe about that now.
Our Just Married pins came in! Everyone got their luggage tags. My bridesmaids are so excited they're almost buzzing. :cutie:
I put together a montage of what I want my hair to be, and inspiration is borrowed (aka, you may recognize it all hahaha). I fought with the idea of half up, half down, but I think I'll do that for the MK shoot.
http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae70/neener3/large_image1-1-1.jpg
I ordered two necklaces (because I am indecisive) almost a month ago, and they still haven't arrived. Good times. Hopefully at least one gets here within 26 sleeps.

I remembered to call and put my FMIL's nut allergy on our dining reservations. I wouldn't want anyone to think that I want to off her during our trip!
And lastly, these pictures have absolutely nothing to do with the wedding, but meh. New Year's Eve we had the best time skating on the new skating oval that they've put in the city for the Canada Winter Games. There's a big petition to keep it because it's been so popular. We love it!

A snow day would be great....
I gave up coffee (take 2, I gave up last year and did great until September when I relapsed), and I feel like killing someone. Ugh.
Philip has been really sick lately at night, and went to the doctor. She gave him some pills to help the acid in his stomach. He's still been up at tonight so this morning I mentioned that maybe he should go back and ask for something else. He says "Oh, I haven't been taking them. I don't like putting things into my body."

Ooooooo I. AM. SO. EXCITED.
Disney called while I was teaching, so I was terribly sad to get the voice mail that I missed it, but anyway!
We got assigned our photographer! Annnnddd we got Regina, who we requested! Annnnnnd we got her for the ceremony, dessert party, and MK session! Squeal!
Our portrait session was also moved due to the construction. It'll be at 7:30. I had braced myself for it, so it's not a deal breaker for me. No night pictures, but I've been seeing some really nice day ones. I brought up that I wasn't too pleased that people will be being let in for breakfast during our session (we get picked up at 7:30, so we won't be starting until 7:45-7:50). But it is what it is. I'm certainly not willing to cancel over it, and it's not going to ruin it for me. I'm just seriously grateful that we have this opportunity.
So yay! Photographer assigned, and it's who we wanted. Excellent day!

Well our papers were in my mailbox this afternoon, so we can officially get married!
If anyone is wondering whether or not they should go through Brevard County, dooooooo it! We didn't think that we knew a notary at all, but a friend randomly knew someone, so the signature was free. We didn't have to rent a car, and we didn't have to spend a half day going to a courthouse. It was so easy and FAST. I emailed our preliminary information, which they emailed back so that I could print it and have it signed. I'm very impressed. :thumbsup2
In other prep news:
- My dress alterations appointment is tomorrow. Hopefully that goes well!
- I made an appointment to get my nails prettied.
- Made an appointment with MAC to have a bridal consultation. Patricia LeJeune is doing my makeup the morning of the wedding, but I'm not having her come back for the MK shoot. My MOH is great at doing hair, so she's doing it the MK morning. MAC will give me an hour consult as long as I make a $50.00 commitment to buy products from them. So I'll do my makeup myself.
- My bachelorette is this weekend. Our Zumba instructor is coming to do a "strip tease" lesson. HA! This should be good...

Everything is going really well! Now as long as a snowstorm doesn't come along and screw everything up, we'll be great!
We get married three weeks from today!!! :yay:
Also, I had my fitting today and she's taking over an inch on either side of my hips. Yeehaw! Also, I LOVE the bustle she's doing. They didn't show me anything like that at the store. When I walked out she exclaimed "Honey, you look GORGEOUS in that dress!" I'd like to take her home with me so that she can tell me that every day. I'm not asking much....
Zumba killed me tonight. We're using weights and....ouch. I might not be able to write on the board tomorrow!

My bachelorette was last night, and my girls did SUCH a good job. I feel so lucky to have great friends. They made a million jello shots, t-shirts for the 3 of us, pink and black cupcakes, and we did strip tease dancing here before we heading downtown. It was literally the best night ever. We got home at 4am, went to bed at 5, and all got up at 9. Nobody sick. How that is even possible, I don't know.
So lucky :cutie:

Some older gents asked my friend how old I was, because they were concerned that I was FAR too young to be getting married (thank you, I hope I continue to look younger than my age!).
I didn't even want to do all of this, but my girls insisted it was a "rite of passage". I'm so glad they pushed!

Now. We are sooooo close. We leave Friday!
I woke up with a killer sore throat this morning. Went to zumba and she asked if I was angry with her, because my energy level was NOT there. I'm spazzing out a little. Philip is not sympathetic. He's a mind over matter kind of guy, so he thinks that if I believe that I'm not sick, I won't be. Uh-huh. Sure.
Philip's grammie has the flu and a respiratory infection. So that's just awesome!
AND we fly out Friday...they are predicting 10+ cm for Thursday here, and 5-10cm Friday. Of course, this IS Nova Scotia, where the weather people can't predict their heads from their...well, anyway.
Pass the adivan.
On the positive side, I FINALLY got my 2nd necklace in the mail, and it's definitely the one I'll be wearing! I took pictures with the necklace, earrings, and headband, and you'll have to forgive the selfies...DF doesn't want to see anything. I also had my consultation today at MAC. She sent me away with a little paint-by-numbers if you will, so I don't think I can mess it up the day of our portrait session. It's quite a few hours later that I took the pictures, and I think I still look decent, so I'm happy with it. Plus I got some pretty new makeup, and we all know that's what really matters ;)

We're back! The wedding was everything I dreamed of and more. We're settling into some deep post vacation syndrome and I'm very thankful that I have a large tax refund coming! Now let's hope Philip doesn't end up paying in and canceling it out....
Our pictures are in (there were in before we even came home!), and I'm so in love. Of course there are a few I hate, and I KNEW DH should have been working on his smile more, but I already want the hi-res cd, which I didn't think I'd want...ugh.
It's late, so this is all I have tonight.
- Regina was amazing. Seriously. We loved her. She even got DH's brother to smile, which he later confessed to me was because she was pretty. Whatever works buddy.
- Patricia LeJeune was incredible. I didn't have my hair or make-up redone for the MK shoot. My bridesmaid did a bit of tweaking, but it was mainly Patricia. Incredible.
- We only had two vans show up to transport us to the Dessert Party, instead of three. Cue hissy fit in big white dress. Cue people springing into action when girl in big white dress starts hyperventilating.
- Getting married at Disney was the best decision we ever made. Except for saying "I will", you know.
Oh, and the pictures.
Have fun looking. Let me know your thoughts. Reading comments makes me giggle a little, and like I said...serious post vacation syndrome going on here.

Let's jump into this with day one, shall we?
Our day started BRIGHT and early at 3 a.m....yuck. This hour is only appropriate if you're heading to Disney (or coming in from a bachelorette party ;) ) Because of my obsessiveness, we each had a checklist of final things to put into our bags. And not one thing was left behind, thank you very much! We were picked up by a town car at 4, which was much nicer than imposing on our friends to pick us up and have to be cranky for work that day. We drove through snow, with the back windows frozen over. Brrrrrrrrr. Are we there yet?
We were the first at the airport, again, thank you very much. Had a very bizarre incident where we were walking by a woman and she exclaimed "What are YOU doing here?!" "Ummm....going on vacation..." "Where?!" "Florida...."....to which I kept walking away, very quickly. I have no idea who she was, and I wonder if she ever figured out that I wasn't who she thought I was? I thought MAYBE she might be someone I knew from subbing in a school, but I really don't think so. I remember faces, and I didn't know this one! Weird. I then ran into a student; we were both playing hooky from school so we exchanged rueful waves and off we went to corral the family and friends. Everyone made it to the airport without trouble, so we all checked into our multiple airlines and separated. DH's Grammie joked multiple times that we were like the Royal Family....all on separate planes!
The flight was uneventful, which should have prepared me for Toronto. See? We're relaxed.
And...tired. LOL

Wait for the GRRRRRRR. When we checked into Westjet, they gave us one customs form to fill out, just like when we flew before. Well. We got to customs and the guy asked us our purpose, so we said we were heading down to get married. He asked who filled out the form (I did, but with Philip's name). Then he jerks his thumb back to the line, chucks another form at me, and says "You're not married yet. Get back in line. Fill out your own." I just stared at him, and stammered..."Ummm...we LIVE together. For three years." He stared back and said "Back in line.". I held it together fairly well. Except I had to fill our a customs form while juggling my massive purse and dress. Then some random traveler tried to make me go to the back of the line so I wasn't in front of him. Um. No. MOVE. I got a very nice lady who asked me my purpose, then was dumbfounded that DH wasn't with me, and shocked when I told her what happened. Whatever. The next customs guys shouted at me because I couldn't hand my form to him. DO YOU SEE THE DRESS BUDDY???!!!! Arrrgghh. I was almost in tears when we dropped our bags off, get to security, and I get selected to be patted down. Great. Even better was the guy behind me, who seemed to thoroughly enjoy it. Who I of course ended up in front of in line to get a sandwich, and he wanted to talk about it. As in "They sure took their time with that patdown, eh? Think it was a little longer than necessary?" Wink. Ew. Philip decided to tell me to calm down when I returned with my sandwich. Easy for him to say, Mr. 2 Adivan.
Okay, we get to Orlando, on the bus. DH is ready to get a tan...

We left off on the bus where we were all warm and fuzzy and...tired. LOL. Did I say warm? Okay, it wasn't so warm. But at least it wasn't snowing. So we were good.
We got off the bus and proceeded to the loooooooooooonnnnggggg line up for check in. The online check in and regular were the same. DH's Grammie found us in line and was BOUNCING. Literally bouncing, just like Tigger, she was so excited. She rambled something about being in room 84something, and bounced off to have lunch with DH's dad and stepmom....they haven't spoken to him in 20 years, so things were going WELL, clearly.
Remember 84something.
We were waved over and asked for photo ID and to write down our address since we were from Canada (?). All business. Alrighty then. We can do that. While she was entering our information I mentioned that we had made a request to be given a little distance from the rest of the family. She just kind of looked at me, so I elaborated...."you know, we're here for our wedding, and not to be rude, but we don't really want Grammie knocking on our door at 6 a.m...hahaha". She didn't laugh. Okay....She said "Yeah, I see that note." Great. Then she said "Well, it shouldn't be a problem at all because you aren't linked to anyone else." Which was very confusing, so Philip interjects with "Well, we're a grand gathering? We have a number? You want to see it?" No, she did not. I added, "I know that Grammie is 84something, so as long as that's not us, we're good." She stared at me. Then she said "Well, it's not like I can see where everyone else is." Um...okay... I elaborated with "Alright, so we know where Grammie is...if we get over there and we're smack in the middle of everyone, we can come back and change, right?"
She stared at me. And then laughed. I said "I'm serious." And she just stared at me. She begrudgingly offered us happily ever after buttons, and I asked for just married, figuring I could mail them to someone else, since we had ordered ours! No dice. She handed us our cards. 8419. I started to hyperventilate. She says, "No, you're NOT next to them, you're in the nineties building." Ummm....8419...Philip hadn't done his research and so was just willing to take them and go look. We walked two feet and caught up with our friends who had just checked in...8421. I whipped right around, cut through the line, and stood in front of the girl's station again. She ignored me. Oh yes she did! She avoided eye contact with me! She actually thought that was going to be okay. Seriously. I do NOT think it was too much to ask to not be put in the middle of the 18 people we were with. All we wanted was a little privacy.
Some poor sucker (errr.....very nice man...) saw me waiting and asked if he could help me. I made it to his desk and he asked what was wrong, well when I get angry I cry....and I was SUPER angry with that girl. She KNEW she was putting us in the middle of them, and confirmed it with avoiding me. Anyway, nice man wanted to stop me from going into hysterics as soon as possible, and Philip tried to explain while I composed myself. The guy seemed concerned that he might not be able to get us a king sized bed if we moved. If I kept crying I think Philip would have welcomed the two doubles and made me sleep alone. The guy had to call some special person to get permission to move us, and it was done. King sized bed and all, which I told him was NOT important, as long we we got moved. I apologized for crying at the end and he told me it was nothing to cry about. Sure buddy. I'll get Grammie and all of my in-laws to knock on your door every morning for 10 days and you tell me the same thing. I don't want to give the impression I don't like them, I do! I just wanted a little space...
That was enough drama for the week. Except for the van thing, but Karen's dealing with it.
SO! We got to our room and could have fit the whole danged family in the shower...wheelchair room! I found it interesting that there was a wheelchair room on the THIRD floor, facing the lake, as far away as you could get. We loved it. It was quiet, and just far enough away from the rest ;)
We must be crazy, because I went to change (I was in a dress and leggings, and it was a bit chilly), and realized we didn't have luggage...we hopped on a bus with my MOH, he BF, and DH's groomsman anyway.
Cue awful picture of 3 hours sleep and inappropriate clothing. Ah, the memories. Also, could DH get any farther away? To be fair, he didn't think he was in the picture lol.

Amanda and Kyle were off to LeCellier for dinner, but not before we rode Test Track and Mission Space! We were clearly exhausted, because not a picture was taken. Philip and I had a ressie for Les Chefs de France, but since we had Barry with us we decided to try and go somewhere for 3. We ended up stumbling into Morocco, and how have there been no rave reviews about this place?! The food was delish. Philip and I had kebabs and couscous, which was soooooooo good. Barry had chicken...something. He said it was the best meal of the trip! Might have something to do with the belly dancer though...We took dessert home, and those baklavas made for an excellent midnight snack a few days later. From the fridge, which we had....for some reason. Came in handy storing my flowers for the MK shoot later in the week.
We pretty much crawled home after that to get up in the morning for Magic Kingdom. Philip had heard about Rope Drop and decided he wanted to go (Darn him for doing research!).
But...my family JUST might ruin that on him. Maybe.

I LOVE your pictures! We had Regina for our engagement pics and will be having her for our wedding. I am going back on forth on the MK Shoot. I really wanted it when it was going to be dark and we'd be alone. Then I wasn't so sure since I heard the bad reviews. But after seeing yours and seeing what Regina did, I think I'm back to getting them! Did any of the guests get in the way during your shoot?

Nobody got in our way, but we were assured they'd photoshop out anyone if that was the case. You can see a few people in one of the castle shots, and they'll be gone. Honestly? It was terrific. There were little girls heading for breakfast all dressed up, and they were in awe...people were really respectful. We had three "security detail" who booted people filming Extreme Home Makeover (!) so that we could get shots with the partner statue. I didn't even know until Regina was talking about it later; I was so in my own world! They have certain areas roped off, so beyond the front of the castle there's nobody but the workers. Do it!

Day two started bright and early with us frantically calling people to tell them to either meet at the bus for 8 or just meet us for dinner that night. Everyone was in except for my uncle, who when asked about the trip, said he wanted to have time to hang out in his air conditioned room with some beer a lot. Okay then.
We were still missing 4 people who were flying in that day, 2 of which were meeting us for supper (or were they....?).
So 15 of us were off to Rope Drop! I couldn't believe it when everyone showed up on time.
My 12 year old brother and I waiting for the bus:
http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae70/neener3/Florida%20February%202011/FloridaWeddingTrip2011019.jpg
Nobody wanted to tick off the bride, in fact I'm fairly certain that Philip's family was scared of doing that. Or, to look at it in another way, they were really respectful of my plans and knew that this was my show lol.
My mom showed up without a sweater though, so I sent her back to her room. We had time. One bus went by....then two....then three...we couldn't get on the bus, we'd never find her! We also had my 12 year old brother who didn't want to go without her, but he's not quite responsible enough to be left alone waiting for her. I. Was. Seething. This was the only thing Philip really wanted to do, and he NEVER asks to do anything for himself. Philip's family intercepted and offered to stay with my brother while we hopped on a bus. Whew! We were loading the bus when who walks up but my mother and uncle, who changed his mind about coming at the last minute, wasn't ready, and then locked himself out of his room, so my mother waited for him. Then THEY managed to get on the bus, and somehow Philip's family was left for the next one. On the bus a man said that he was pretty sure Magic Kingdom opened at 8 that day, not 9. It just wasn't going to be our day apparently.
My mother and uncle got a thorough tongue lashing when we got off of the bus. When you're a group of 16 you need to think of the other 14, not just yourself. When you make a plan you need to stick to it. Too bad my mother is the only person on the trip not scared of me. :confused3
http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae70/neener3/Florida%20February%202011/FloridaWeddingTrip2011021-1.jpg
My brother didn't have a sweater and they had to buy one as soon as they got there.
We got there just in time to see smoke from the fireworks and the train pulling away. :headache:
Philip took it better than I did, but we both decided to focus on the fact that we were HERE, early, with a huge group, which was an accomplishment. Onwards to the bakery!
Yummmm. Worth the 20 minute wait in line. While my MOH, her BF, and I ate, the rest explored Main Street. It worked well because DH's family always wants to poke around in the shops and I....don't. So by the time we ate everyone was ready to go.

Except that my mother, brother, and uncle, who had disappeared. Oh well. Everyone knew to meet for dinner, so we carried on. We knocked out the Laugh Floor, where Philip's mom was flashed up as "Doesn't even know where she is". LOL. We continued to Buzz, and rode Space Mountain, scoring fastpasses for later so that our friends who were coming in late would have a chance to ride too.
I took this pic of Grammie doing her thing. She likes to lead the flock.
http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae70/neener3/Florida%20February%202011/FloridaWeddingTrip2011042-1.jpg
Lunch was at Cosmic Ray's after that.
Where I need to stop and comment on the portion sizes. They are insane. We are used to eating pretty healthy, a lot of vegetarian, salmon, etc. We aren't vegetarian by any means but we love our veggies. Philip works for a site that provides amazing recipes, and we cook from it a lot. They don't use any salt. We LIKE meat, so we decided to get the chicken and rib platter and split it. I don't like ribs, so Philip was in the win there. We couldn't finish it. The chicken was okay, and Philip said the ribs were good. The green beans had a POUND of salt on them. YUCK. The potatoes were loaded with it too. We saw people eating the whole thing by themselves, and it made me sick to think of all of that sodium being put into their bodies. We're not health crazy, but do drink a lot of water and could still feel the salt effect.
Anyway. After lunch Amanda and I booted it to the teacups, while the rest meandered through shops, and the boys refused to ride with us. :snooty:
http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae70/neener3/Florida%20February%202011/FloridaWeddingTrip2011048.jpg
It was like a wind tunnel back there! It's a Small World was closed, to the relief and dismay of others. We all kind of fell apart here...it was the afternoon, some people wanted to do Peter Pan but I was gunning for Splash Mountain, which nobody but our young group wanted to do, so Grammie suggested we split up. Thanks Grammie! Off to Splash. Where Philip bought ponchos for everyone, even though I packed ponchos and he wouldn't put them in the bag that morning. :headache: Oh yes, then I went to get fast passes for Big Thunder and discovered that he used his 2 day pass to get into the park instead of his AP. :headache: Which we were supposed to save, because if we didn't use them they'd never expire. It wasn't pretty, and I'm THRILLED to announce that was the last of my hissy fits for the trip. Except when the waiter at Tusker House screamed at me for no reason. Right.
Splash Mountain was so good that we bought the picture. THAT good. We went over to Tom Sawyer's Island next, which Philip loves and the other boys agreed. AH, boys. Our fastpasses were good for Big Thunder next, so off we went! We tried to ride Haunted Mansion but the line was alllllllllll the way to the snack carts (!), so we skipped it for later. The boys went into the shooting...place....thing. Philharmagic was next, which we always love. So far, the day was getting a big thumbs up from our newbies. Yay!

http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae70/neener3/Florida%20February%202011/FloridaWeddingTrip2011069.jpg
Yeah, it was that cold Saturday. Thank goodness it warmed up for the wedding day! We ducked into a shop on Main Street to purchase my bridal ears, and when we walked out we ran smack into my bridesmaid and her husband who had just flown in! There was much squealing and happiness; I was so happy that all of our friends made it. We decided to take a leisurely train ride around the park before dinner once we wintered up. Ran SMACK into my mom, uncle, and brother heading for the train as well. Excellent! My mom said "No big deal, we knew supper was at 7, so we would have made it!" Great thinking mom, except dinner is at 6:10 so it's pretty good you ran into us or I probably would have murdered you in Magic Kingdom...
On the train. I wasn't kidding around when I said it was cold.
http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae70/neener3/Florida%20February%202011/FloridaWeddingTrip2011070.jpg
Dinner! Crystal Palace. They were running late, but that's par for the course with a large group. Dinner was buffet, and pretty typically so. To be honest, Philip and I weren't eating much at this point. We were tired and just NOT hungry. What I did eat was good though. Crystal Palace was a great choice for our first group dinner. Everyone loved the characters, and we were all pretty relaxed. The waitress gave us some grief at the end for not telling her we were on the dining plan, but I DID tell them we were on it when we checked in and again when we were led to the table. Meh. Miscommunication.
Tigger bounced on my foot and cracked my pedicure on my right foot. Ouch!

We made it out onto the steps as the Memories show was going on. Got great spots there, busy obviously, but we tucked into some nooks on their patio to watch the shows. There were some tears shed, but I won't name any (surprising) names!
All through the shows I couldn't believe that we had pulled this off, that we were here, and everyone was happy. Sob.
After the shows the older crew headed back to the hotel, but the 8 remaining were up for anything! We used our Space Mountain FPs, then booted it to the teacups, where Jenn's husband (who is 6'4!) crammed himself in with us. It was so funny that we had tears running down our faces. The three girls had to sit with our legs on the seats so that he could fit, and then he spun us so fast we nearly threw up. :rotfl2:

We achieved Haunted Mansion and Pirates after that, at which point it was 11:30 and we had been there since 9! Bedtime.
Islands of Adventure tomorrow. We have been waiting for 6 years and been tortured by the construction of Harry Potter every trip!

Thank you! Reconsider! I was nervous about it. I had time to come to terms with the fact that it wasn't at night and we wouldn't be alone. Honestly though, you're not alone at night anyway. There are workers everywhere. And the streets are wetter, since they hose them down starting at about 5. I mean, we could pro and con it forever, but I just accepted it for what it was, knowing that we'd never have the chance again.

Three things:
1.) I can't stop staring at our pictures. I put on sappy love songs, put my headphones in, and let 'em roll. So narcissistic! I need to go back to work. AND am dreading it all at the same time.
2.) Today Philip turned to me and sighed ever so dramatically. He says..."I wish Halifax had a dining plan. Sigh." :lmao::lmao:
3.) Last night during our ever so healthy supper of A&W (totally making me a liar about our healthy eating...whatever. I swear I went to zumba right afterwards and regretted every bite of that burger), Philip thanked me for the best day of his life. And here I thought he was the one who gave it to me. This must be what they call the honeymoon stage. :cloud9:

I completely feel your pain about asking for distance from the other people. I went to WDW with my boyfriend and my parents in 2008. I had spent forever on hold months before the trip to request not to be close to them (we were a long distance couple and I saw my parents every day). We were staying at the WL and when we checked in our rooms weren't ready but I made sure to say that I didn't care where we were just please not right next to my parents (I really didn't mind but my bf didn't want them to be able to hear every conversation as Disney's walls are so thin or my Dad prank knocking on our door constantly). We get a text with our room assignments and we are literally in the room right next to my parents. I called the front desk from my cell phone in Epcot and was put on hold for 32 minutes before the CM (who I deemed the snarkiest CM in all of Disney) finally found us another room and so "cheerfully" helped us. It took me awhile to let it go and continue to enjoy the day. Ugh :headache:.

Day three started with excitement, as we were off to see Hogsmeade and Hogwarts after being taunted for years of trying to peek over the walls! Our last trip two years ago was supposed to be our "last trip." :rotfl2::rotfl2: So we were devastated when it wasn't ready! I mean thoroughly sad; we're big Harry Potter fans here. As in, we're nerds and we quote it. Yep.
Fifteen of us were off to the park today. Philip's dad, stepmom, my aunt and uncle, and another uncle opted out. I called Mears and booked two 8 passenger vans to take us. I think it was 48 dollars each van, each way. We changed the drop off to DTD on the way back, and they were quite accommodating. The vans were early for both pick ups.
When entering the park I realized that while I remembered the paper with our confirmation number for our tickets, I forgot my visa to prove it was me that bought them. :headache: Thankfully I had I.D on me! After that little hiccup, everyone had to pee. It's a production with a big group that you just need to go with, and go when everyone else goes. ;)
Then it was off to the races! Er...Hogsmeade.
This is at about 9:15 a.m. You need to get there early.
http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae70/neener3/Florida%20February%202011/FloridaWeddingTrip2011126.jpg
After poking around in the stores a bit and explaining to everyone there's a REASON why the shops are so small, we ushered everyone over to Forbidden Journey. Everyone. Probably not the best choice for everyone, but whatever! SO. COOL.

Honestly, I enjoyed the queue as much as the ride, so if you're not in for the intensity, go through the queue and then just exit while others ride. It's worth it! I won't say anything else about it hahahaa.
I rode the flight of the hippogriff with the little bro, who was getting brave after the forbidden journey. Then it was more poking around, and off to Dueling Dragons! Er....Dragon Challenge. The ride was more or less a walk on. Get there early. The queue is pretty different; lots of cool stuff to look at. The ride is the same though. Some moron had a camera out so they held us at the top...eerrrggh.
After lunch and some frozen butterbeer...yummmmmm, we were off to Jurassic Park.
http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae70/neener3/Florida%20February%202011/FloridaWeddingTrip2011168.jpg
Another pee break, and we were walking on to the flume ride. Again, my brother was brave! Although I made him sit on the end in case he puked. We all wore our disney ponchos and got ridiculed by the team members! But we didn't get wet. ;)
The rookies checking the maps.
http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae70/neener3/Florida%20February%202011/FloridaWeddingTrip2011173.jpg
It was warming up, so we were off to Bilbo's Barge! My brother, mom, and I loved it so much that we rode twice, and they just let us stay on since there was NO LINE. See, get to WWOHP early, then while everyone else is there later on you can ride everything else. I had it under control. Someone took a pic of everyone in their ponchos, but I don't have it so I'll have to add it later.
A lot of people went to Dr. Doom's fearfall after Spiderman (where we encountered REALLY drunk, obnoxious people in line...nice.), but I don't do that. Philip hit up the arcade, and I....went to sleep on the sidewalk. :rolleyes1 Seriously. I was losing steam! I opted out of the Hulk too, because I get knocked around too much on it and end up with a headache every time. Grammie went on it though hahahaha. Instead, Callum and I opted for something a little more low key. Over and over and over.
http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae70/neener3/Florida%20February%202011/FloridaWeddingTrip2011182.jpg
We all meandered over to Suess Landing and Poseidon to finish off the day. Hobbled to the vans and were off to Raglan Road! The vans dropped us at the right exit, so we were able to walk as little as possible lol. Everyone else straggled in....slooooowwwwwllllllly.
They took us in late.
We had a little room off to the side, which was nice for noise reduction but some people complained that they couldn't see the live music so it took away from the experience. Can't please everyone! My MOH and I split calamari, which was pretty good. I had virtually no appetite, so I figured I should just get a chicken caesar...can't go wrong, right? Wrong. It was gross. I ate about 3 bites. The people who brought out our food were rude. As in, pretty much threw our plates on the tables or thrust the plates at us for us to grab them and set them on the table. The manager came through a few times to see if we were okay. We were okay, and that's about it. I started not feeling well, Philip's brother started not feeling well, and my bridesmaids and I passed out on the benches. Not our finest moment.
http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae70/neener3/Florida%20February%202011/FloridaWeddingTrip2011200.jpg
I got up to go to the bathroom and nearly lost my supper, and ended up running out of the restaurant. Philip's brother also had to leave. Two of our tables got bills and had them settled before the last table even got their dessert. Philip packed his entire dinner up because he wasn't hungry, but when he got home his meat was ALL fat. Gross. Anyway, we booked it for the bus, where I ended up standing and praying that I wouldn't erm, vomit on anyone. On the bus Philip told me we should cancel Sea World plans for the next day and relax. Savior. We told his family and they didn't say much about it and decided to go alone. We needed to sleep before the wedding day.
I don't know if it was exhaustion or the food, honestly. I will say that I NEVER feel sick to my stomach like this, especially so soon after eating. Nor does Philip's brother. We've done a lot of trips gung ho all the way, parks everyday, and being tired makes me cranky, not sick. So who knows. Our last trip, Raglan Road was much better.

Oh, and the pictures.
Have fun looking. Let me know your thoughts. Reading comments makes me giggle a little, and like I said...serious post vacation syndrome going on here.
Your wedding photos are beautiful -- thank you so much for sharing. And that first "castle shot"...absolutely breathtaking!! It looks like a painting! I couldn't stop looking at it. Unbelieveable.
All of the MK shots are so much fun. I especially like the one where you're walking up to the castle, your DH is looking at you, and you're looking over your shoulder at the photographer. SO charming!
The fireworks were cool too, what a neat experience. I love the one where you're watching the fireworks, and there are green, pink and orange ones in the air...very, very cool.
Congratulations!! What a magical experience!

Wow! I loved all of you photos they turned out so beautifully! (And can I say as a bridesmaid/maid-of-honor that got to wear a fabulous dress I loved your choices as well!)
The rest of the trip sounds great too can't wait to read more about it!!!
Thank you! Their dresses are actually just from a regular store in town - honestly they weren't much cheaper, about 50 dollars. But they certainly can re-wear.
Thanks so much! I love sharing lol.

After many phone calls to inform everyone that we were definitely not going to Sea World, we were able to crash that night and not wake up until 11 a.m. Bliss. Seriously.
We meandered over for breakfast. Philip is seriously missing our daily breakfasts of yogurt/granola, a muffin, fresh fruit, and juice. Apparently it's just not the same at home.
After breakfast, we headed down to the computer pool, where we found my mom, brother, bridesmaids, + 1 husband and 1 boyfriend. My bridesmaid had just gotten pooped on by a bird...she was also pooped on the day before at IOA. Poor girl! We ducked behind her every time we saw a bird from then on. :rotfl2:
We constructed a rough plan of lounging by the pool, swimming, and maybe mini-golf later on. Tough stuff. Some of us slathered on sunscreen...and some didn't. You'll be able to tell who did and didn't in the wedding pictures lol!
After some serious lounging, it was time to pretend that we belonged at another resort. Although we did fight some indecision as we walked by Hollywood Studios and saw how dead the parking lot was! I regretted our commitment to stick to our plan when we came back to HS Saturday and saw the HUGE crowds.

We split up girls vs. guys; it was a perfect before wedding day event. We were quite relaxed, at our own pace, and just having a good time. Until we got the the second last hole with the water, one of the guys ran through and tumbled. He's 6'4. He fell HARD and broke his watch. His $400 watch that was bought 5 months ago. :scared1: He recovered well though.
Back to the resort to change, then off to 'Ohana! I was quite worried about this dinner after reading that many brides had issues there with big parties, in regards to service or food. We didn't experience any of that! They were fantastic.
Heh, when we checked in though....our reservation for was 8:20 and we got there at about 8. Went to check in and there was a guy "checking in for his reservation" with his family of 6. They couldn't find him in the system and he was getting upset...FINALLY he tells them that his reservation was for 5 o'clock! And he wanted to be seated then and there. HAHAHAHA. I must say, they handled him very well.
Anyway, before I could buy a drink we were brought to our table. Now, I knew that they played wishes in the restaurant, but hadn't told Philip because I didn't know if we'd be seated on time, or have a good view, etc etc. He was in awe and loved me for my "big surprise". LOL. Easy to please! Drink orders were taken, food was brought out, and everyone loved it. My bridesmaid and I each had a very berry punch, and I don't know WHAT is in those things, but we were quite happy by the end!

Service was great. We were assured to ask for seconds of anything that we wanted, and they did bring things around more than once. They made a big speech about us getting married the next day and congratulated us, and had everyone clap for us. Very cute. Honestly, they couldn't have improved on a thing, they were that good.
People were thanking me for choosing that restaurant as we were leaving, so I think it was a good choice! We ended up hopping on a bus to DTD and then switching over to Pop Century to get back. It was pretty long...but we had all agreed just to get on whatever bus came first to the Poly bus stop, so it was what it was.

Beautiful pictures. I wish I would have been able to make it to the wedding. I was there from Feb. 11-25. I think I ran into one of your family members at POP Century. For some reason im thinking your mother. I will have to catch up on your TR as we just arrived home last night after driving 33 hours.

Thank you! SO happy. I need to look into a digital photo frame now...bahahhaa!

People kept telling Philip that he would be so nervous the day of the wedding that he'd be sick to his stomach and wouldn't be able to eat. Well, let me tell you...he hopped out of bed at 6:30, declared that he was "so excited!" and went off to get breakfast before he went golfing. :lmao:
The golfing is a sore spot with me, and will remain so...well, forever. You see, Philip doesn't golf. He fishes. To illustrate that point, he does own a set of clubs (cheap) because he used to go to the driving range. We've lived together for 3 years. He hasn't used them since we moved in together. He could fish all day and be super content. We've spent many a day fishing on the shore by where he grew up, him with his fishing pole, me with my book. I don't touch fish unless I'm cooking them. ;) He's always wanted to go on a guided fishing excursion at Disney. I knew he wouldn't book it himself, so I went on a flurry of emailing the guys going on the trip, calling his Dad, making sure that everyone would go, making sure that people would chip in on the cost. Never said a word to Philip. Emailed his brother, made sure he knew about it (his brother was our best man). The last email I got from his brother was that it sounded good, and Philip would love it. I even called and booked it. Literally DAYS after I booked it, Philip turns to me and tells me that his brother booked a morning of golf for them the morning of the wedding.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
I'm still seething about it. Philip doesn't golf. Philip doesn't like to golf. His brother likes to golf. I'm still mad. Can you tell?
I didn't say anything to Philip about it right away because I didn't want to start anything, but I eventually lost my mind about it close to the trip. If his brother wanted to do something with him, how abouts we try something that he enjoys? Philip never asks for anything, and never does anything for himself. He actually didn't believe me at first that I had arranged it all and his brother went behind my back. I showed him the emails. He's not happy about it. In order to not start a fight before the wedding, I quietly canceled the fishing excursion before I told Philip about it.
I hesitated about putting this on the internets where family could potentially find it, but you know what? Whatever. It wasn't fair, and frankly, it's nothing new. And it upsets me.
Now where was I...:rolleyes1
Philip went golfing.

I kind of stayed in bed half awake until about 7:30 when I gave up. Got up, showered, made sure my jewelry was all in order and all that.
At promptly 9 a.m Patricia LeJeune knocked on my door. I liked her immediately, which was a relief. You know when you just meet someone and like them? I was also thankful that I had cleared off our table for her station lol. My girls showed up and I gave them their gifts (pearl studs). I was super happy that I had taken the time to write personal cards for them, and super happy that Patricia had started working on me when they read them so that I wasn't watching them cry! I had pictures of what I wanted, and she still took the time to ask me "So you want this? And your part here? And in the middle or to the side? Etc".
Thought about sending my MOH like this:

My bridesmaids didn't have pictures, so one described what she wanted and the other said "do whatever!". Patricia kept commenting on how calm and zen we were. I think she was waiting for me to crack!
After getting ready, we realized that my dress was in my MOH's room because we hadn't wanted Philip to see it but didn't want it in the bag the whole time. We decided to get dressed over in her room instead of lugging it back over to mine and wasting time. THAT was a mistake. Grrrrrrr. Oh, and while we were slaving over getting ready? This is what the boys were doing (after a hard morning of golf):

When I left off, we were hopping over to my MOH's room to get dressed. I sent the girls ahead of me to be a scout so that we wouldn't run into DH on the way. With the all clear, we scurried through! We ran into a bunch of DH's family and they went a flurry taking pictures before I shut the door to the room. ;)
Luckily, my mom was in a connecting room next to my MOH, so we were able to just open the doors. She started crying the minute the door opened. I was having none of that, and sternly told her to pull herself together! :rotfl2: About this time, we realized that all I had to eat so far was some grapes. We sent Amanda's bf off on a French Fry mission, and started getting me into the dress!

This is when people started knocking on our door. I refused to answer. They kept knocking. I refused to answer. I made my mom go out HER door to check to see who it was. It was DH's family. They wanted to take pictures of me. Umm....no. I don't think it was unreasonable of me to not want pictures taken at that point, or to want a little alone time with my girls and my mom. My mom reported that they seemed a tad bit disgruntled at her statement that the door would not be opened. I suppose I could have been more clear in my wishes about that beforehand, but I figured it was pretty standard? Anyone? Ah well.
My mom did a little last minute steaming to the midsection, and we were ready to go!

We sent my little bro ahead to ensure that the other half of the party had gotten into their limo/van. They were all gone! We had soooo many people congratulating me and just staring in general hahaha. I'm not a very spotlight person, but man I enjoyed this throughout the day!
Once in the limo, I took the whole back with my dress. It really is a short ride over to the Boardwalk from Pop!
http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae70/neener3/Wedding%20Day/DSCN1408.jpg
We had to wait a bit in the limo at the Boardwalk because DH was getting pictures done inside. Karen came out to meet us and took us inside where we only waited a few minutes for Regina. We grabbed our flowers, which I wasn't too impressed with, but I'll review them later.
Bridesmaids' bouquets...6 gerber daisies, white and pink, $60.00 each:
http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae70/neener3/Wedding%20Day/DSCN1566.jpg

At this point, Regina took me for some photos with my mom and brother, and she took some pictures with my girls. Then she took me around for some solo pictures. The girls tell me that my mom was falling apart here, which I was so not aware of hahahaha. They did a good job of blocking her from my view!
When we were finished, we headed out the back door. One elderly man shouted out "It's not too late!!!!!" and on the way down the boardwalk another let out "Ohhhhh nooooo!":laughing::laughing: We walked by a little girl who let out a gasp and said "She's soooo beautiful...she looks just like Barbie!!!":laughing::laughing::laughing: All of that kept us laughing right up to Sea Breeze Point. I wasn't really going for Barbie, but I'll take it!

When the music changed to "So This is Love", my mom and I started walking...and she started talking. About how proud of me she was and how she was always proud, but so incredibly happy for me...and she was crying, and I kind of stopped and said:
"Mom. Thanks and all...but...please stop talking."
OOPS!!!
My poor mom. I think I shocked her into stopping though! I desperately didn't want to turn the corner to walk up the aisle and have DH's first view of me being a sobbing mess. We made it up and he made an appropriate exclamation of how pretty I was.

When my mom left us up front and I went to join DH, I tripped! :lmao: That is SO me. DH just rolled his eyes at me and laughed.
After this, I can't remember a thing. Not because I have a bad memory, but because I wasn't paying attention! ACK! I couldn't focus for the life of me. Well, let's correct that. I remember thinking:
"Man, he looks handsome in his suit. Heeeyyy, check out the cake table, looks good. So that's the clouding everyone talks about? Hmm, I don't see what's so offensive about it? Oh, the water looks pretty today. Man, we're lucky to have such a beautiful day. Holy, if it gets much hotter I'm going to be sweating majorly in this dress. Ooooo, a boat! Oh, I hope it doesn't honk and interrupt Rev. Jack. Oh man...is that sniffling my mom crying AGAIN? Someone get her a kleenex...Philip looks angry. I wonder why he looks angry?"
(Philip told me later that he was trying to PAY ATTENTION AND CONCENTRATE on what Rev. Jack was saying. I'm glad one of us was, because I could have agreed to be the Queen of Sheeba and cut off all of my hair for all I know.)
I snapped out of it when I realized it was almost my time to say something. ;)
We both made it through our vows, each stopping at the exact same spot to take a huge breath and in an effort to compose ourselves.

I'm going to pause here mid-wedding day (don't worry, it'll be continuing soon!) for a little therapy. :confused3
This year, there were three cousins getting married. A and his wife got married in January, DH and I got married in February, and T gets married in May. We couldn't go to A's wedding (about 5 hours away), because we just couldn't swing it so close to ours (they announced their date about 5-6 months after we had decided ours). There are no hard feelings that we couldn't go, in fact I get the feeling that his wife was relieved not to have to feed us. ;) We've chatted since.
T and I were pretty close growing up, stay in touch, we're going to her wedding. She announced her wedding about 6 months after we decided on ours too...we hadn't announced a "home reception" date but had decided on the long weekend in May. Guess when the wedding is? I'm not much fussed really, I didn't actually want a home reception anyway. It was more for everyone else, not us! We got everything we wanted with our wedding and more.
My hurt feelings? When I got engaged, T heard and called me right away to congratulate me. She was at home with her 3 sisters. None of them got on the phone to congratulate me. No congratulations passed on. No messages on facebook (I know, I know, but it's the least they could do...right?). I ran into one of them at the mall and another at McDonald's. Nothing. Not even a perfunctory "how go the plans?". No acknowledgement. Feelings hurt.
Fastforward to the wedding. Wedding date passed, nothing. Pictures went up, nothing. I don't want a bloody gift, or card, or party in my honour. Congrats. You don't even have to write the whole word. A "hey, you looked beautiful" could work. Nothing. I've been stewing about it. These are my cousins. Give me a break.
So I figured, whatever. They're all pushing 30 or more...have issues? Or something. Then there were pictures of my cousin A's wedding (Jan.), and they had commented on like every picture. About how she was glamourous. Blah, blah, blah.
It's petty that I feel this way, I think? It's stupid that I'm letting 3 grown women hurt my feelings by something that they DIDN'T do. Maybe they're ticked that they weren't invited to the wedding. Who knows. I guess I just thought they were...different.
I'm not looking forward to seeing them at T's wedding.
Gah.

I know how you feel. A close family member* didn't say congrats to us when we got engaged, it took him/her like a month and DF had to bring it up. My cousin (whose wedding got called off the year before we got engaged), also never said congrats and didn't turn up to our engagement party. Now she is engaged again and I fear that she will set our date near ours to "sabotage" our wedding. If you let it get to you, then they will have gotten the reaction I'm sure they wanted to get. My best advice is to just take a deep breath, maybe scream into a pillow, let out the frustration, and move on. There's no reasoning with self-centered people who can't be happy for you. Don't let them bring you down.

Oh excellent! Glad to be of help! My BEO is posted in here too; that should help!
It totally helped. It has giving me peace of mind knowing that the budget we are setting for ourselves is a good one. We are aiming to save $15000 for our DFTW/Disneymoon. We are probably gonna wait until 2013 so it gives us plenty of time. :goodvibes

I too know how you feel. But with my best friend from high school.
After calling our immediate family and close friends, I posted my engagment on facebook. Now, this might be partly my fault, but still. For several days, I had updates on how excited I was and talking about plans. Then when I posted that I had bought my dress, my best friend from high school says "buying a dress? wait, why wasn't I told?"
Now mind you, she spends tons of time on Facebook so I know she had seen my updates. And we really only talk once or twice a year so I didn't think to really call her about this (like she didn't call me when she found out she was preggo...which wasn't a biggie to me). Anyways, after I explained it, she didnt' say anything else. No congrats, nothing. Oh, except for her status update "It's sad when people using Facebook over the phone". Yeah, totally aimed at me. At that point, I didn't want to invite her to the wedding but my friends told me to be the bigger person. I've invited her to the bridal shower and we've emailed several times about that but still nothing like "congrats!" gah! Oh well
Anyways, the point I was making was don't let them get to you. If they're going to be rude then that's their issue! But I"m sorry you're feelings were hurt. They suck!

Thanks, I guess a lot of people get this type of reaction...I just didn't really figure they would give me that. Moving on, and making sure my ring is super sparkly for the next family wedding hahahaa. :rotfl:

After Rev. Jack pushed us down the aisle, we floated around for a bit. :cloud9:
Karen came over to ask if we were ready to cut the cake...WAS I EVER! I was also feeling very festive and completely negated what I originally thought I wanted about the champagne. Hey, a bride's allowed to change her mind! We originally thought that we wanted to not open the champagne...a few non-drinkers in our mix. Well, I didn't care about that! I was floating and I wanted champagne! Not sure how that went over with some, but glasses were half-filled and everyone (except for my 12 year old brother, obviously!) ended up with a glass. We had two bottles there, for some reason I thought only one was included, but whatever! We still left out toasts...which would have been a good time for one; we ended up rounding people up at the Dessert Party for DH's brother to give an impromptu speech. Meh. Champagne in hand, it was time to cut the cake! Now, this did NOT come naturally to us, and resulted in many LOVELY images of me that will forever remain a part of our special day. :rotfl2: Ah well, it's who I am..

That's true love, right there.
Ah, much better...

Check out that dreaded clouding peeking through that people hate so much that I was mulling over during our ceremony lol.
http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae70/neener3/Wedding%20Day/P2158935.jpg
Once the cake was cut, I enlisted my brother to carry my dress over the grass to a table. Hey, it's hard work being a bride...
http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae70/neener3/Wedding%20Day/Florida519-1.jpg
When we sat down our groomsmen and bridesmaids pulled up a few chairs to sit with us. I had that awkward "Should I mingle? Should I put effort into talking to everyone?" moment, but decided that I was going to enjoy my cake and champagne, and I had the big dress so people could come to me. They did, and it was no biggie.
The cake and champagne area, in case anyone needs a look-see! You can tell we didn't do any decor here. No floral, no chair covers, just what was there and included. We didn't miss it!

We had picked the Mickey's Delight for the cake. The bottom layer was Chocolate with Bavarian Cream, which was soooooo good! The top was marble with chocolate buttercream...we dug into it later on in the week and it wasn't so hot. They only serve one round of cake...I wish they had done more. Not because I WANTED more, but because we had SO much cake left over, and didn't end up wanting to lug it back on the plane and through customs...so we threw it out. I know...

I love this of DH and his dad

Doesn't DH's brother look impressed?
http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae70/neener3/Wedding%20Day/DisneytripPics298.jpg
While we were eating, we were VERY impressed with the violinist. DH's brother in particular was thrilled with him - he has a degree in music and was requesting some oddball stuff, all of which was promptly played.
http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae70/neener3/Wedding%20Day/P2158941.jpg
With the cake finished, it was time for some family photos. Regina powered through these like the pro she is ;) She was also VERY delicate about DH's family situation (mom, dad, stepmom...his mom and dad hadn't spoken in almost 20 years prior to the trip!). I had meant to mention that we didn't want any forced family pictures...you know, dad, mom, DH. It wasn't even offered, so yay! I was kind of worrying about it when we started the pictures but it was handled very delicately and not even mentioned. Phew!
After family pics, we sent everyone off to head to dinner while we had pictures done on the boardwalk with Regina. Karen offered the limo for two trips, but we had decided to send everyone via boat to HS Studios and then bus. I'm happy we stuck to it - I think that had we sent everyone via limo there would have been WAY too much of a gap. So for anyone considering a 5pm dinner after a 2:30 pm ceremony, keep that in mind. My mom reports that everyone loved the boat and said how relaxing it was. LOL. Good enough then! We had pictures done, took the limo, and ended up getting there at the same time as our guests. Perfect timing!
Next up: Chef Mickey's!

I love everything so far!! Your were stunning!! I love your dress, I really love your pink shoe peeking from your dress when you were walking down the aisle.
Don't worry about your three cousins, I know you probably want something showing they are happy for you, and to tell you how pretty you were. But truly you don't need their opinion at how amazing you looked. I'm sure they are going back to your FB photos and looking through them wishing that was them :goodvibes

Ooo I forgot one part about our day that I would have wanted to be warned about....so that I could warn DH!
Bad Dis Bride.
Obviously, Sea Breeze Point is a very public venue. We had people congratulating us, and people stopped to watch the ceremony (from a respective distance). People shouted congratulations to us as we were eating cake. All good.
However....we were leaving Sea Breeze Point with Regina when an elderly man came up to us and congratulated us. Thinking it was another random well-wisher, we said "Thanks!" and went to move on. He grabbed DH's arm and shoved a paper into his hand, saying "Hopefully you learn to find God in your life. It will help you."
DH did NOT take it well. He shoved the paper back at him and said "I'll be just fine, KEEP it."
:scared1::scared1:
Uggghhhh I don't know why he couldn't just keep it and move on. But he did explain himself later. Based on what the guy said, he obviously WATCHED our ceremony and saw that it wasn't religious. And then either waited for us or doubled back. DH was really mad that someone would interfere with judgement on us for how we were choosing to live our lives.
So that's that. Is this a Florida thing? We were accosted at Sea World last year too. I don't know...maybe we have the look about us. We're cool with God and religion, and were brought up Catholic, but it seems like we have the look that says "Please! Shove your religion down our throats!"
:confused3
Anyway, be prepared for it. It was awkward.

I love the pictures! You had a really beautiful wedding day. I don't think I've seen anyone else with tables outside of SBP and I'm not sure why - it looks beautiful!
About the religious guy, we have this happen all of the time where I live (in Canada) they come right to your door and put things in your mailbox or try and talk to you. When I was first born, my mom had someone come to our home and tell her that I was going to die before I was 2 if we didn't join their religion! It is too bad that you had to deal with that on your wedding day. People just need to live and let live.
Anyway, beautiful pictures!!

DH and I had gone back and forth and back and forth about dinner on the wedding day. ORIGINALLY (as in, way back before I discovered the DIS boards and got crazy ideas :lmao:) we were sticking to the Escape ceremony, then parting ways with everyone to have dinner at Jiko. THEN we were going to just book a large party seating at a restaurant and pay for our guests to have dinner. What would have happened if I had never discovered this place (and Carrie's passporter)?! Once my ideas started getting a little bigger, we ended up with lunch at The Attic. The Attic seemed VERY us.
Then I started having some major dessert party envy. I mean, we could have lunch in a nice place here at home...The Attic was gorgeous but didn't scream "WE GOT MARRIED AT DISNEY!" to me. Although if we had won the lottery we would have added it back + the dessert party for sure! We didn't win the lottery. When free dining came out we demanded that everyone book hahaha. Added the dessert party and told everyone that dinner, should anyone like to join us, would be at a restaurant and they could use a free dining credit. I'm sure it seems tacky to some, I don't really care though. We had 18 of our closest friends and family. Would it have worked with 100 people? Of course not! But it worked for us. We tossed around some ideas and decided that we'd love character pictures, we just couldn't justify the cost of characters at that point. Enter Chef Mickey's.
When we entered The Contemporary we were greeted by some of the nicest people that we encountered on our trip. They whisked our cake from us (somehow I didn't realize that we'd end up carrying two HUGE cake boxes around after the wedding...is that standard?) and stored it for us. DH made a few inquiries and they happily shipped it back to POP for us!
We had a bit to wait before Chef Mickey's opened so everyone just kind of explored around a bit. I ended up being asked to take pictures with random guests and little girls. :rotfl2: I thoroughly enjoyed my princess time. I am a forever part of some stranger's trip lol. Where was DH during all of this? In the arcade of course. People kept asking where my prince was. :rotfl:
Just hanging out by myself...

http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae70/neener3/Wedding%20Day/SDC11061.jpg
We were among the first called in. They said that we were the first bride and groom they had, hahhaa. They made sure to point out the big washroom for me and my dress, so that was really nice. We were ushered in for our photo, which ended up being a fiasco when it came time to buy...we wanted to buy it so it was passed around the tables and my MOH held onto it for us....well DH's Grammie bought it and thought that it was lost so when we all left the restaurant I guess she got into a "little argument" with the staff about it. Whoops. :confused3 She was NOT very happy with my MOH over it, but she really didn't know and was trying to be helpful...we ended up with ours and Grammie ended up with hers in the end. I'm glad I was on :cloud9: still and missed all of that!
Anyway, back to dinner.
The gang's all here:
http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae70/neener3/Wedding%20Day/img031.jpg
We were seated upstairs in a corner close to the windows. It really worked for our group, which I was thankful for. We had two huge circular tables. I didn't eat too much (I think that's the theme for brides, really), and scolded people for getting dessert  What I ate was fine, nothing spectacular but NOTHING near the horror stories that I had read on the dining threads. We came for the character interaction and that was fabulous!
Pluto gave me a big kiss and I had to tell him that I was a married woman now and couldn't be carrying on like that!

We didn't feel rushed at all with dinner or characters, but it did go by surprisingly fast! We ended up with more time after dinner to kill. Whoops. Ah well. We all headed downstairs to wait for a bit. When we had a seat we noticed that there were two vans out front. DH went to see if they were ours, and came back with "Yup, they're ours. There's only two out though, so I told the guy we were waiting on the third and he said no problem. We'll just wait out here."
Well we waited....
And waited...
And waited...
Then, it was 7:30. And I had read our BEO thoroughly (remember that!). I knew we were supposed to be picked up and on our way by 7:30. I stalked out the the van to get the two loaded up while we were waiting for the third. The guy greeted me and we loaded up. And waited.
Finally. FINALLY! After being told FORTY-FIVE minutes before...he says "there are only two vans ordered here."
There are no words to describe how much I wanted to bash that guy over the head with my flowers at that moment. I swear, DH put his arm in front of me to hold me back. I think I uttered "EXCUSE ME?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!" I knew there were three ordered. We paid for three. Three were on our BEO. He then proceeded to argue with me about whose fault it was (he blamed Karen), and then asked me if I'd like to call his central bookings to find out whose fault it was.
I told him, in no uncertain terms, that I did not give two flying ****s whose fault it was. I wanted to be on my way to my dessert party that we paid thousands of dollars for, NOW. And somebody needed to fix it NOW. The guy just stared at me. DH looked at me helplessly.
And DH's brother leaped out of the van, ran over to a random cab, flagged the guy down, asked him how much it would cost to get our guests backstage. The guy told him 20 bucks. He threw a 20 at him, loaded DH's family into the van, jumped back in ours, and told our driver in no uncertain terms: "Drive." :worship::worship:
We drove. Backstage. He got lost. I. Was. Losing it. When we got out of the cab the random cab driver tried to tell DH's brother that a 20 didn't cover it. He told him too bad. We met our event guide and I'm pretty sure I ran to the UK.
Bah. I ended up emailing Karen when we got home and she said that original stupid van guy should have called her immediately. We ended up being refunded for the van that we never used, and she apologized profusely. I was really happy that she followed up on it. It was my MAJOR bridezilla moment of the day. Major. But once we got to the UK, and saw how pretty it was, it was all gone.
Until someone spilled tea on my dress.

I love that you did the Chef Mickey thing with your guests. I think that is a brilliant way to take advantage of the free dining plan and give your guests a wedding "event" that they will never forget. Brilliant! I love the pictures with the characters, sounds like you all had a great time. Who cares what some people may think is "tacky", I think the point is to get everyone together and have a good time....you did that wonderfully.
I can't believe the van guy didn't say right up front there were only 2 vans, so you could have taken care of it right then!!! Cute that your new hubby kept you from attacking the stupid van guy. Glad that Karen took care of it after the fact.
Can't wait to hear all about your dessert party? Tea on that gorgeous dress????????? Oh NO!!!

Thank you! We had a great time! Even DH's Grammie was into getting pictures taken with the characters lol.
And the van guy...argh. So frustrating. I would recommend for people to just extend the limo charter honestly. I wish we had, but going for 3 vans was cheaper. We got what we paid for I suppose, but it still shouldn't have happened. And the fact that he sat there arguing with me instead of just calling dispatch to get another van made me want to smash him. I am not typically a violent person. :goodvibes

I know I'm not even done the wedding day yet, but I feel like I need to write out some reviews before it all gets too muddy and fuzzy in my teacher brain! Thursday after work I did circles in the grocery store trying to remember what I was there for (pancakes). I'm not sure what's happening to me! :lmao:
Alright, you'll all just have to bear with my ramblings. Ready? ;)
Let's start with initial DFTW contact. Fail. I called twice before anyone would patch me through for questions because it was ahead of the 8 month mark. I just wanted some info but didn't have specific questions exactly, and couldn't get put through. Now I know since we decided on our DFTW they have a facebook page and it's easier to look at their site locations. I suppose had they been there for me I'd have had a better idea.
Honestly, without the DIS boards and Carrie's Passporter, we probably would have passed on the DFTW. We would have gotten married in Florida for a much cheaper price. My cousin works at Buena Vista Palace and he was about to hook us up when I came across the DIS. The Magic Kingdom pictures that I started looking at me got me hook, line, and sinker. Done. Carrie's book gave me all kinds of options and information.
We had Joe in the beginning and he did his job passing along info, answering questions. No complaints there.
We were passed on to Amy later on and she also did her job without any issues. When she moved up to Wishes Weddings we were passed on to Karen Serette.
Karen answered every single email quickly and efficiently. I kind of politely let slip that I was a DIS bride in my emails ... something along the lines of "I was reading and saw that this was a possibility but know that things change, is this still true for us" each and every time I asked about something that I found out about here. I mean, I was doing my research. She was gracious and it seemed like there was never that "up in the air ever changing rules" that others seem to experience. Maybe she was reading my pj. ;)
Had I not been reading here, I don't think we would have gotten:
- The complimentary night. We didn't ACTUALLY do a room block. We just filled a bajillion rooms, I listed the reservation numbers, and asked. Figured it couldn't hurt. I had heard rumblings that Escape Brides weren't getting the comp night anymore, and asked. Nicely.
- The van transfers. Even though that ended up being a fiasco, we could have ended up paying a bajillion dollars for something that we didn't really need.
- Different flowers than those listed in the Escape Package for no charge.
I'll come back and add more if need be. On the day of the wedding Karen was pleasant and efficient, even getting DH's family in line. Kudos to her for that one! She was exactly what I needed as an Escape Bride. I didn't need my hand held, but she was there when I needed something. When I emailed her about the van nightmare after the wedding she emailed back immediately and looked into it for me.
We had Rosie for our flowers. I wasn't impressed. We had our phone call and I waited about 3 weeks for her to email me some pictures of what we had discussed. When I got them they weren't what I had envisioned. I emailed her right back saying "That wasn't really what I was thinking, I was thinking more along the lines of this (picture inserted). Can we do white and pink for my girls?" Weeks went by with no response. It got to the point that Karen couldn't send me a BEO because she was waiting for Rosie's proposal, and I still hadn't heard from Rosie, so Karen dealt with it. From then on I dealt with Karen for changes (getting rid of the aisle petals). On the day of the wedding, my flowers had some brown spots on them straight out of the box. I hated DH's bout, it was too big. I guess that's part my fault, but it's not my fault that it fell to pieces before we even said the vows. Literally wilting. I had him take it off after the ceremony. Fail. My flowers did hold up for the MK shoot the next morning, so there's that I suppose.
Patricia LeJeune did our hair and makeup, and I LOVED her. A month and a half after the wedding I'm still loving what my hair and makeup looked like. One of my bridesmaids has very thin hair and she gave her hair! Also, I told her that our MK shoot was the next morning and that I was planning on sleeping sitting up. :lmao: Pfft, forget that, I slept just fine that night and only re-hairsprayed and put a little foundation on the next day. My hair and makeup lasted all through the next day at the photoshoot and Animal Kingdom (I showered, we had a wheelchair room so I just lowered the shower head lol). What more could I have wanted?
Regina is a genius. We bought the million dollar cd that I never thought I'd want. Sigh. I tried to convince DH we should do a photoshoot when we go back in November. He's not budging.
Mears gets a big fat F.
Rev. Jack Day gave us a great ceremony, our family loved him, and he ske-daddled when it was over, which was just fine.
Did I miss anything? This was very long winded hahaha.

Awww thank you! We're so happy with the way it all turned out. It's all sunshine and lollipops when we think about our wedding (I block the van thing out. And the tea spilling. Ha!).

I'm going to back up here a bit and post some professional pictures that Regina took. They're only the low-res images from the proof dvd, but I figure the high-res ones will be too big when we get them anyway. I know I shared our link but it DOES expire in May and I remember being so frustrated when we were in planning process trying to see people's pictures only to get the expired message.
So, feel free to skip over the pics! I'll resume with the TR shortly. :goodvibes
My favourite picture of DH. I think he's handsome, but I might be biased.

The dessert party. How amazing are these dessert parties? I would like to attend one not as a bride...anyone getting married around the beginning of November and want to invite us???? I'll even throw the 33/pp at you to let us attend...lol.
Alright. After the slight hiccup of getting there late and being WILD about the van situation, I had to kind of talk myself down. It was pretty easy once we hopped over to the UK. It's beautiful. No, really, really beautiful. We LOVE illuminations, but I really despise crowds (think, panic attack despise), so honestly, shows are usually a little ruined for me. I need to stake out a spot and plant myself there, and then I hyperventilate a little when people get too close and try to infringe on our spot...I know, crazy. But it is what it is. So when we were escorted over to our little spot...I was in HEAVEN. No people pushing me? No smelly people? No people trying to take our spot? Well it was worth it for that alone!
If I could change one thing I would have made everyone go to Epcot before wedding day to see how difficult it is to get a prime spot lol. Everyone who had been before was THRILLED about it...our newbies were quite impressed but didn't understand what it's like outside of our spot. They were spoiled and didn't even know it, you know? :lmao: Regardless, everyone was pretty happy.
In keeping with our minimum budget, we didn't spend any money on decor. We ended up with some candles on the tables anyway, standard stuff that I didn't look twice at.

I would love to say that I tried everything and it was super delicious. Erm...:sad2: I didn't get to half of it. I was bouncing around, dancing, chatting, and was a bit scared of the fondue with my dress, although others reported to LOVE the fondue, so I'm glad we got it. I tried the baklava (YUMMMMM), the creamed horns (meh...), and then got stuck on those fruit tarts, which were AMAZING and I think I ate four. ;) My bridesmaid was obsessed with the tiramisu and claims that she ate six and took some on the bus home lol.
http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae70/neener3/Professional%20Low%20res%20images/PH217960211-0174.jpg
I want one of these RIGHT. NOW.
http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae70/neener3/Professional%20Low%20res%20images/PH217960211-0173.jpg
So we mulled around, and our guests took eight billion pictures of the ducks...I'm not kidding. Ha! Simple! I quite enjoyed the punch, reached for another fruit tart, someone turned around, didn't see me, and spilled tea down the front of my dress.
I don't even know who it was, to this day. It was either DH's aunt or stepmom, but I'm not sure. I SCREAMED, my bridesmaids RAN over, and I started...well, the only way to describe it is the ugly cry. Except I didn't want to ruin my makeup so I was doing the tearless ugly cry. I can't believe I just admitted that. I vaguely recall everyone just staring at me with their mouths hanging open. All I could think about was our MK portrait session the next day. Regina was assuring me that she would photoshop anything out...and...my MOH threw water all over my dress, and bled it out.
Lucky.
Whoever it was never even apologized to me. :confused3 Perhaps for the best.
Brushed it off. Deep breaths.
DH's brother alerted me to the fact that he'd like to say a few words, so I rounded everyone together while he made an impromptu speech. It was pretty nice, he didn't have to do that at all, but a nice gesture. Then...it was time...
To dance.

A little explanation perhaps?
Back in September I started to get a little serious about getting in wedding shape, so we started Zumba. My skinny minnie bridesmaids came with me every week, pumping it out with me. We ended up LOVING IT, and loving spending 2 hours a week together. (Plus, I weighed myself this weekend and have lost 30 pounds!) So...well, we can zumba to anything now! LOL. We were shaking it all out when we noticed we had an audience...all of the people lined up on the bridge to watch "the show!" Whoops! So fun.
http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae70/neener3/Professional%20Low%20res%20images/PH217960211-0184.jpg
Regina had surprised us with two images from the afternoon...well, I knew that it sometimes happened but wasn't EXPECTING it, and hadn't mentioned it to DH. They were:

and
http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae70/neener3/Professional%20Low%20res%20images/PH217960211-0170-1.jpg
We were SO thrilled with this, and our family was blown away. We set them up on the tables for everyone to have a look.

Before we knew it, the show was starting and we were hustled over to the corner with Regina. Our guests enjoyed the show so much that they didn't even notice we were missing! :rotfl2:
Now, I have to admit...trying to be loving when massive booms are going off? Not so easy. DH did worse at this than I did, and he's kind of ticked with himself about it. He had some major grimaces in some pictures, but we got some great shots, so I'm thrilled we went with the photography. Just know that every shot isn't going to be the money shot!
Okay, look at me and smile.

We were supposed to be escorted out the International Gateway afterwards...well, that didn't really work for me, you know? We were staying at Pop...so DH went and asked the guide if we could head out the main entrance. We were able to hang around a bit after the show, finished up some food and drink. I urged everyone to pack desserts up, but somehow didn't get any myself???? ARGH. Anyway, when the guide turned her light on, it was our signal to go. She dismissed us and we walked out of the park ourselves. Had the park still been open I believe we would have been escorted, but it wasn't and we weren't. We could have used this as an opportunity to get pictures at some cool spots...but we didn't! We were SO tired and tired of having cameras in our faces. It is a long hike out of Epcot, let me tell you! I was thanking myself for changing into flip flops. We ended up running into a prior DIS bride on the way out! My family (and DH) thought I was utterly crazy.
DH and I looked at each other and said "Cab? Should we get a cab?"...I don't know why we didn't, we had the $$$, we could have...but everyone was heading towards the buses and we just kind of ended up in the flow. We got some CRAZY looks! We were in the loooooong line for the bus when a guy came over, leaned over to me, and stage whispered "Umm...my daughter really wants a picture with you. Would you mind?" They were about to get on the next bus so I quickly obliged. Well. My MOH didn't clue in until they were getting on the bus, but all of a sudden she sprang into action. She kicked off her shoes and took off towards the bus. We were all left staring at each other wondering what was going on. She hopped onto the bus, pushed to the back, found the little girl, and handed the little girl her bridesmaid bouquet. The people on the bus were clapping...and I think we may have created another Disney bride!
I had to pee SO bad, but there was no way I was moving. We ended up on a packed bus, standing...and I would NOT let anyone give me their seat! I knew that if I sat down there was a large possibility I'd be leaving a puddle behind...not exactly how I wanted to remember my wedding!

After we got off of the bus I kind of RAN to our room (which was about as far away from the buses as we could get!). My bridesmaids and their significant others ended up coming over to return some stuff from getting ready that morning, and we all ended up sitting around gabbing before I realized that we had to be up in a couple of hours! (and so did they bahahah)
When the alarm went off, I bounced up, literally. I was PUMPED for this shoot. A quick check of my hair told me that I had (thankfully!) slept like the dead and not moved at all. I reapplied some foundation, blush, and bronzer, but Patricia's makeup job held true. My girls showed up to lace me into my gown and my maid of honour tucked a few stray hairs in. I'm soooooo glad we didn't spend the extra money and time on getting hair and makeup done again. My maid of honour was prepared to re-do my hair if need be, but it just didn't need to be done. They laced me up, I grabbed my flowers from the fridge, and we headed out.
We were meeting Regina and Dean in the parking lot closest to our building, well we went to the wrong one because our brains were all fuzzy. Whoops! Thankfully we realized our mistake pretty quickly. Regina was impressed that my flowers stayed in good shape, no flower refresh here! She about nearly fell over when I mentioned that I hadn't had my hair or makeup re-done! A quick through some quiet streets, and before we knew it, we were backstage in Magic Kingdom. Now, Epcot backstage totally ruined it for me....but that might have more to do with the van incident. MK wasn't anything thrilling, but Dean and Regina pointed out where they keep parade floats and etc, which was cute. I didn't realized that we'd actually be driving THROUGH Magic Kingdom, so when Dean got out to open the gate by Splash Mountain I was kind of giddy as I realized (simple minds...I know.). We parked right by the Haunted Mansion queue and hopped out.
Our first stop was the bridge. I had been eyeing the bridge in other bride's Trip Reports, and was super excited when it was our first stop. Now. DH and I agreed that we weren't going to give any direction in this shoot. I had wisely kept my fear of the MK shoot to myself after seeing and reading some not so great things. I knew he'd cut it! I was NOT about to let that happen lol. I had been put at ease when we got Regina as our photographer, and more so when she gave us our two photos at the Dessert Party and then handed us one that morning! This was her show, and we were just going to go with it.
So, the bridge.

I love those pictures.
We got ready to move on, and I noticed some mumbling and conferring from Regina and our crew. We were given the okay to go through the fence onto the grass in front of the castle. I pretty much shrieked and hopped on through. One of those pictures was put up on Disney's Fairy Tale Wedding Facebook site, and ohhh man, is it ever funny to read the comments! People saying that it must be fake, and people aren't allowed to go down there, and then that the people in it must have paid a fortune....:rotfl: I got a huge kick out of it. Of course, there were people who loved it too, I just got a kick out of the negative nancy's.

I know there's been a lot of talk about the Mk shoots. And truly, I did think that it was unfair that we were paying $1100.00 and not getting the private in park experience that everyone else was getting. DH and I had discussed that a lot. We had aimed for this shoot because we wanted to photos and the experience. The day of, all of those thought were gone. There was nobody in any general area of that bridge, it was roped off. We moved over to the partner statue and our "security detail" politely asked people to move. I was in such a daze that I was SHOCKED when Regina asked me how it felt to boot Extreme Home Makeover!

Yep, there are people clustered in the back of those photos. Those are the only ones we have with people in them. I emailed our photography contact and said "When I expressed my concerns about the MK shoot being pushed back and guests being in the park, I was assured that nobody would be in our pictures, but if it happened by chance, anyone would be edited out. I notice there are people in these two photos, and would like them edited please." We were told it would be done so I'll let you all know when the DVD and album come (they're on their way). I don't have a bad taste in my mouth about it at all.
We moved up to the side of the castle. All of the guests were re-routed the other way.

Inside, people were very respectful, and the little girls heading for breakfast were in AWE, which really just added to the whole thing.
I hate that this picture on screen looks like I have a baby belly, but was THRILLED when we got the 4x6 proofs and you can really tell that the fabric on my dress was puckering. Sigh. Relief.

I'll finish up with the carousel and Haunted Mansion in another post; I've reached my limit! I hope everyone can see that having a 7:30 session isn't the worst thing in the world though. I am certain we would have LOVED being in the park in the dark alone. Really. But it wasn't tainted in any way. We loved the congratulations and the little girls and the general mood in the park that morning. I love my pictures. There are maybe 5 from our MK session that I don't like, and it's to do with our facial expressions, not Regina's work or the fact that it was day, not night. We never thought we'd pay the money for the DVD, but it's on it's way! I'm happy that we just let Regina do her thing, because we're thrilled with the results.

BEAUTIFUL pictures! Absolutely gorgeous! I kept going back and forth about getting the MK shoot, but I know that I've always wanted a wedding shot in front of the castle so I went for it, with one condition--that I could have Regina. We had her for our engagment pictures and LOVED them and booked her for our wedding. We're locals (litteraly live less than 5 mins from the back of the MK) so I told my photography person that I didn't really care what day we did it as long as it was a weekend and we have Regina. And after seeing your pics, I feel even more at ease. I love them!

Your pictures are beautiful! I actually prefer the MK shoot in the light because most if the pictures in the dark have to use flash, so you don't get that natural lighting. The sky was gorgeous in your pictures and I really like the setups Regina did.

I like the light ones too! But all I had really seen aside from Kelly and Adrian's pictures were the dark ones, so I kind of had this vision of the castle lit up...but I let go of that and just went with it. I told DH that I'd like to go back and do a shoot and have Regina as the photographer. He looked at me like I had two heads. Men.

After we left the castle we headed over to the carousel. Of course, DH spotted the sword in the stone and practically begged for some pictures. :lmao: Regina informed us it was our shoot, and we could do whatever we wanted! So here's the result of THAT; we played around a little...
Very manly.

Once done at the carousel we headed over to the Haunted Mansion, which was DH's request. I wanted it too, I knew we'd have enough magical princess type photos in the other part of the shoot. Regina didn't waste our walk over though; she was scouting for spots. We ended up ducking into the wheelchair accessible line entrance at It's a Small World for these beauts.

More gorgeous pics! But this last bit made me laugh! During our engagement pics at Epcot with Regina, for some reason my shoes were giving me blisters on the balls of my feet (I wear them all the time at work, but these were huge blisters!) anyways, I ended up taking them off and walking around barefoot and only putting them back on for pictures. I wondered if she thought I was crazy but now I know I'm not the only one!

My feet have issues, they swell REALLY badly, especially in Florida. I teach, so I'm on my feet all day thus they don't get too sore walking around, but I really need to watch the swelling. I put flip flops on for the dessert party lol.

One would think after the whirlwind that was our wedding day, and the morning of the MK shoot, that we'd head off to crash for the day.
Well...it was DH's aunt's 50th birthday, and when we picked our date we were originally taking Wednesday to ourselves...it didn't go over so well. :headache: In retrospect, I'm glad we joined the family. But I think that's all I'll say about that.
We headed back to our room and were pretty hyped. We both doubted our ability to sleep for very long, and seriously considered just showering and heading off to Animal Kingdom. Well, I don't do so well without sleep, so suggested that we really give sleep a try. I wanted to set the alarm for 1pm (it was about 9:45), to which DH insisted he would never sleep that long.
Can you see where this is going? We put our earplugs in (which I HIGHLY recommend!!!), our heads hit the pillows and we pretty much went comatose. When the alarm went off at one we both shot out of bed...we were both in one of those sleeps that when you wake up you have no idea where you are, or whether it's night or day...or anything. Oy.
I checked out my hair and makeup again, and decided that I was never going to be this made up again in my life, it still looked good...so I was going to milk it. Thank you Patricia! This is over 24 hours later and going strong. After a quick shower we were off to the bus. Turns out that when you head to Animal Kingdom in the afternoon you get the bus to yourself.
Proof that Patricia's makeup and hair hold true (although it did suffer from water spray in the shower)! Yep, I even left the headband on...I'm the bride.

We had told everyone to meet us at the Safari at 2, and if we made it we'd all go on together, and if not to head on without us and we'd meet everyone at dinner. We just hadn't been sure how energetic we'd be. Turns out we were JUST on time, and everyone converged on the safari together. I wish they'd do something about this line...we were a group of 20 and we ended up getting split into no more than 6 because people kept cutting line! I was SO mad. There was a family of 3 that got on directly in front of us, well by mid line they were a party of 7 and that's when I put my foot down. Our party of 20 waited to get in line together and here we were all split up, and their party kept pushing through...pretending not to speak English. Let's just say their party didn't all get to join up, but I stopped a CM and we all got on together. I wasn't rude about it to the CM, but I was pretty ticked at all the rude people that had pushed in between us. Our newbies didn't know the "elbows out rule", so they had let people push through...they ended up literally 30-40 people behind us.
Finally getting on the ride...

I'll avoid the bajillion animal pictures we took (save that for when we went to Animal Kindom Lodge bahaha.). We've had better safaris. There weren't many animals out. We've always done the safari in the morning, so I think that had something to do with it.
After the safari we wandered through the paths and fell in love with the baby gorilla! The single males put on QUITE a show for us as well, which totally made up for a lackluster safari. Put up with their stench, it's worth it!
Okay, I lied about the animal pictures. Check out the baby!

At this point we separated in two large groups...half of us went to The Festival of the Lion King, and I have no clue where the rest went! The other half had already seen the show in the morning when we were snoozing...but it's my second favourite show on property, so it's wasn't an option to miss! Plus, I knew my mom would LOVE it (and she did).
We wandered back taking pictures after the show, and ended up at Everest.

We ended up getting fastpasses but the line was short so we rode it 3 times, adding and minusing people every time. We tried to get a perfect picture but ended up giving up because DH really wanted to ride Dinosaur before supper, and we thought we were running short on time. We grabbed fastpasses for Everest later. I don't like Dinosaur...too many jerks, bumps, and things screaming at me. I pretty much ride with my eyes closed. But DH loves it, so off we went. We ended up busting it over to Tusker House for dinner.
Where everyone was waiting, a miracle.
Well, we waited.
And waited.
And then it got dark. And we waited some more.

Then I decided I needed a drink. Which I drank. Because we waited some more. Our reservation was for 7pm and it was after 8 when they led us in. No apology, but the hostess brought us in the restaurant, said, "You're in the room to your left", and left. We walked in and there were a bunch of empty tables, but no table for twenty. When I turned, there was a server there, and I put up my hands JUST like this guy, swear, :confused3, and didn't say a word. I didn't CARE if we were separated, but we honestly didn't know where to sit.
He went OFF on me. Literally. Off! Up one side of me and down the other, screeching, "It's not my problem! It's your fault you're a big party!"
Um...woah. He is super lucky he whipped out of the room, because, um, hello...I'm wearing a sparkly headband, my hair is done, I'm wearing a Just Married pin, and he's lucky DH didn't see the exchange but my mom sure did and she was in Momma Bear mode. I think she would have swiped his head off with her paw. I ended up snapping at her to sit down and demanded a manager. There was NO call for that. I worked in a restaurant for 3 years, and you know what? Big parties suck. You have to set aside tables for what seems like EVER to hold them (which they clearly didn't do for us), and sometimes they don't show. Sucks. I had given him this look :confused3 because I didn't understand where on earth we were supposed to sit. We ended up being two sixes, which we shoved together ourselves, and an eight.

When the manager came over she apologized but I told her that after waiting over an hour only to be treated like that sorry wasn't going to cut it. We would have left entirely but it was DH's aunt's birthday, and Grammie had ordered a special cake...ugh. I informed the manager that there was no way I was letting that server come anywhere near me, and not only that, we were not paying the mandatory tip. She agreed. DH and I ended up not being charged the meal as well. We ended up tipping our new server because he was FANTASTIC (and treading very lightly....) and we believe in tipping for great service.
Bah. We've eaten here before as a large group and not had a problem, but I'll never go back. Dude ended up trying to come over to apologize to me but I cut him off and said "Sorry doesn't cut it, you NEVER speak to a guest like that". I would have been fired for doing anything close to that, and I only worked at Boston Pizza, not Disney!
Annnnyway. Our meals were fine. I wasn't so into eating. I was really shaken from that guy I think. I didn't even end up having birthday cake, which looked lovely.

Today was the day where we were squeezing in Sea World. It was just 6 of us, the "couples" of the group - well the younger ones, anyway. Us and my bridesmaids and their respective others. It was really relaxing and low key. We snagged a taxi at Pop Century to head over to SeaWorld. It was about $22.00, well worth it to be dropped at the gate. We had considered grabbing a bus at DTD...but...not worth the hassle.
So we were there bright and early.
http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae70/neener3/Florida%20February%202011/FloridaWeddingTrip2011379.jpg
We got sunscreened up; it was looking to be a scorcher. I shouldn't love this picture...but I do hahaha.
Getting sprayed down.

The crew immediately decided to conquer the Manta. Despite some begging, I was OUT of that one...the facing the ground thing really doesn't do it for me. I was more than happy to have a few minutes to myself (the first, besides a few before Patricia showed up the day of the wedding!) in the sun.
Conquered.

Up next was Atlantis. I wanted to get wet early, so that we'd have time to dry. We didn't plan this out very well! DH and I sat in the front row, but all of the guys ended up sitting on the left, all the girls on the left, and there was a BIIIIGGGG tilt to our boat. DH and I got soaked to my pleasure (I love water rides!) and to his chagrin. :cutie: From Atlantis we hopped over to The Kraken where we hoped to dry off with some speed (errr, not so much).
This is from the other crew's trip to Sea World; they managed to get the crazy's from our family who waited for the front row. Note that's Philip's 74 year old Grammie is right up there!
http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae70/neener3/Florida%20February%202011/DisneytripPics196.jpg
We were trying to balance the shows/big rides today, and my big thing was the dolphin feeding...last trip it had been the one thing I had wanted to do...and somebody's family didn't meet us on time at our meeting spot so I missed out on it (hint: not my family). So we had to sketch out a plan, and the dolphin show was next up. I was surprised at how good this was, and although birds creep me out, I liked them in the show! After the dolphin show I convinced everyone to feed the rays. They were pretty leery lol.

We booted it over for a quick lunch afterwards; we had just enough time to shove some food in before the Shamu show. Nothing spectacular...chicken fingers and fries. The Shamu show wasn't as good as before...I'd skip it next time. Jenn was pretty excited about it though, she even bought a stuffed Shamu lol.

After a little penguin encounter the boys were clamouring for The Manta again, so off they went. My MOH and I held the bags and sunned. Okay, we napped. LOL. Jenn and Matt had a rental car booked that evening to head over to Tampa for a hockey game (typical Canucks!), so they headed off after that. DH and Kyle headed for the Kraken...which Amanda and I...you guessed it...had a seat in the sun! DH seemed concerned that I wasn't having fun, but I was, I was just really into people watching and relaxing today. There were no lines and everything was low key. I really enjoyed chilling by myself or Amanda. I wasn't in a mood, I think I just needed some down time.
This is what happens when you sit out on a ride...LOL. Poor Amanda! Bag Lady.

We hit up the manatees after that (love them!) and then headed to the dolphins. I thought I'd want to feed them more than anything, but they were having a demonstration and I managed to pet them, which I was possibly more excited about than the wedding...okay, not really, but super excited! DH still brings it up, I was like a little kid.
We decided to call it quits after that. It was pretty hot and we were tiring quickly, plus I had plans with my mom and aunt to go shopping, and DH was heading to Hollywood Studios with Amanda and Kyle. We took a taxi back to POP to change and they headed out. I had a leisurely hour or so ALL TO MYSELF (!), and then headed to the Premium Outlets with my mom and aunt. They were amazed, and my aunt went wild with shoes. We were all on our own for supper that night, and my aunt and I ended up having some eats back in the food court by ourselves at POP. It was really nice, and she told me what a great time they were having, and how they couldn't wait to come back. Yay! More Disney converts. I was really unsure as to what they would think of the whole thing, so I'm glad they had a great time.
DH reports that Hollywood Studios was somewhat of a madhouse, and people congratulated him and Amanda all night on their marriage! LOL. He still had his button on, silly thing, and although she didn't, I suppose one would think that you'd be with your wife hahaha. Ah well. I do wonder who they thought Kyle was!
Up next: People leave, people stay, Grammie has a meltdown, we meet up with one of my students and some friends.

Awww Sea worlds great though due to last years tragedy (which happened the day before we went) I'm yet to see the Shamu show.
Big thumbs up to Philips Grammie! By far braver than me.... I'm one of those people you describe as a 'bag lady' :rotfl:
also is Atlantis any good? I'm a big lover of water rides too but when we went it wasn't overly warm to DF lead me away from it

I think I only handled the Tusker House thing well because my mom was in utter outrage and I was determined to quell her anger! She was MAD. The cake looked lovely inside too - however, neither DH nor I had any, although his dad (who never eats dessert! Ever!) had two pieces!
And I LOVE Atlantis! But I love all water rides - Splash Mountain, Atlantis, Ripsaw Falls, Jurassic Park, Bilbo's Barges...anything with water, I love it. Atlantis has that crazy drop too, feels like your stomach is left up top and you're falling out of the boat. Good times!
Thanks for following along - I'm pretty sad about it ending too, but was more sad when the trip was over! I'm well recovered from the melancholy though and can actually enjoy reporting it now though. ;)

The makeup wasn't too bad eh? I should have had some oil wipes, but meh. Life goes on! Soooo jealous of you going in two weeks...we are counting down over 6 months right now!

Oh I'm glad to be of help! That was the goal in my pj/tr, we probably would have gone with an off site wedding had I not found the DIS and I just wanted to be a little part of everything that I found so helpful in our planning. We didn't spend a lot of money but still felt that it was magical and special.

Friday saw us saying goodbye to a good bunch of our party. Boo! My mom, brother, uncle, MOH, her bf, DH's aunt, and DH's groomsman were heading back home. Epcot was open late this night so we were able to see everyone before heading out for the day. My poor brother succumbed to some nasty bug as soon as they got on the plane in Orlando...and proceeded to deal with it through that flight, the Newark airport, and the flight to Halifax. My poor mother said she's never been so happy to see Halifax, even as cold as it was. Makes me wonder if a bunch of us weren't fighting that what with the lack of appetites and general feeling crappy that had been going around.
We waited it out for Jenn's hubby to return the rental car from their big hockey night the night before. She said he'd left practically at the crack of dawn, so when 9:30 rolled around she got a bit worried...turns out he was desperate for one more round on the Manta so tried to cab it to Sea World to use his free day on the back of the ticket! Well, you have to sign up for that before you leave on the first day...he wasn't too happy about it, but she was fairly vicious over it lol.
Once he returned, we got the story, and they were speaking somewhat civilly to each other, we hopped on a bus over to Epcot. It was about 11 when we got there. DH's family had gotten there a bajillion hours earlier. We decided to hop over to Soarin' for fastpasses, knowing that they do run out. We ended up running into DH's family who were heading off to lunch. Since we had a late breakfast, we parted again, us for Living with the Land. Fairly cute, nice transition to the day...wouldn't do it again soon but nice to see.
There was actually a wait for it!

My shirt says "So sleepy, so grumpy" lol. My moh bought it for me the day of the wedding, and got DH one that says "Genius by birth, Grumpy by choice". He loves it.
After that we headed over to Nemo, which also had a (shortish) wait. We could definitely tell the crowds were increasing, but we knew they would heading into President's Day weekend.

After that, it was off to spend some time with Ellen and Bill Nye. We ended up touring part of the world after that, we knew we wouldn't get all the way through before dinner at LeCellier so we'd have to double back, but we also knew we probably wouldn't get through if we waited until after supper. Before we could head off though, I had to check to see if LeCellier would let us add 2 people to our ADR...DH's aunt and uncle had changed their minds about the day and decided LeCellier sounded great and wanted to eat with us. Sigh. Thankfully LeCellier was more than accommodating; I think my Just Married button and sighs about my in-laws helped lol.
Jenn and I ended up posing in a lot of pictures this day; I think our husbands were tiring of the cameras and more than happy to put them on us. DH obliged for a photo with the beast though, and they were both willing to pose with Alice. Good men.
We never did figure out why there was this phone booth in Canada...

We meandered through the countries, and decided to pick pearls in Japan! I've always wanted to do this but never have. I ended up with a blue pearl, and Jenn got a pink one. We both got the cheapest mountings possible and I love putting it on and thinking about Disney. I'm glad I did it, and will probably do it next time too! DH thought it was pretty cool.

Before we knew it, it was time to head back for dinner. We had the 4:30 seating, and everyone was on time, which makes me happy. Not all of us were happy though...
Grammie was TIRED, but she wouldn't admit it. They hadn't taken one break since arriving the Friday before. She won't break unless everyone else will, and since they kept going, she kept pushing herself. Well...she wanted to go back to the hotel after supper, so DH's mom said she'd accompany her, and Grammie just...well she had a little fit. Said she was perfectly capable and not decrepit. Oh my. Supper was...a bit strained as we all were avoiding the topic and her lol. Supper was good though! I subbed my risotto for the mashed potatoes, as I find risotto too salty. Was so stuffed that all I could manage for dessert was sorbet. LeCellier was a two thumbs up dinner from our group!

Afterwards, Grammie ended up going back to the hotel with DH's dad and stepmom (which shocked the rest of us into submission, if you remember from the beginning she hadn't spoken to his Dad in 20 years.). DH's mom and aunt were flat out banned from going back. Hah! So we all headed over to Soarin'. A bit of a wait even in the fastpass line, but a good time nonetheless.
They decided it was safe to part ways after Soarin' and headed back to the hotel. Left in the running was DH, Jenn, Matt, DH's brother, and myself. We rode Spaceship Earth and Mission Space, then they decided to ride Test Track with fastpasses we had picked up earlier. I had plans to meet friends from university after Illuminations, and it was coming close, so I sat out and we set up a meeting place for afterwards.
I sat and people watched a bit while they were gone, and when the music started I started walking over to Canada to meet my friends. Well.
I ended up bawling. Dear Lord. I had to stop walking, and just watch the show. I couldn't not think about the wedding, and how it was perfection, and how utterly lucky I was. How supported we had felt, and...everything. I just lost it in the middle of Illuminations. Stood there watching the show with tears rolling down my face. Ack! I mean, I had cried during Wishes too, but this was a wee bit uncontrollable.
When the show started wrapping up I tried to compose myself and kept walking over. My friend had gotten into Florida the day before, and she was travelling with some cousins, 1 of whom was my student, so I couldn't very well show up crying! I was informed upon finding them that he had been practicing his French ALL day and was nervous that I wouldn't let him speak English! Apparently I am very strict lol.
DH and co. found us easily and promptly made fun of me when I confessed the tears. We parted with the kids and toured the rest of the world. Now. My friends toured the world differently than we had done! They found props in every country and set up shots. Oh. Em. Gee. DH was mortified, and I've never had more fun touring the showcase.

I wish we had thought to do all of these poses earlier with more people from the wedding! So much fun, and so silly. We ended up riding Maelstrom and the Mexico ride at around 11:30 at night. My newly joined friends were yearning for a late night Soarin', but we were pooped and Jenn and Matt were flying out the next day, so we all went home to collapse into bed.

:rotfl::rotfl: thats brilliant! Bless him.... Can't blame him for wanting to squeeze another ride in - though Manta wouldn't be my choice ;)
Love the photos you took where you're using props. They're great, looks like you had a blast doing them!

I love to read all your posts! I can't believe my wedding is finally almost here :goodvibes I was wondering if you could help me with a few things... First, did you purchase another photography package or did you just use the package included in the escape wedding?? Also, I get to have a mk photoshoot :cheer2: and I saw that you ended up purchasing the disc with all the photos and I was wondering how much that costs?!

Yes, you're so close! At least when I finish up mine I'll be able to read yours!
We used the package included in the Escape Wedding + added Dessert Party photography ($300.00) + added the MK shoot.
The high res dvd is a bajillion dollars.
LOL.
Actually, you get a proof dvd, which has all of your pictures on it (for free), but they can only print to 4x6. That didn't really fly with our visions of massive wedding pictures plastered wallpaper style all over the house...err....I mean....a few of our favourite pictures selected to tastefully adorn our walls...
So we ordered the $750.00 (ack! :scared1:) dvd. It prints to 8x10. There's another one for $1000.00...it goes much high...I just figured I don't need a picture of my face to be bigger than my actual face, kwim? So we went for the "cheaper" version.

Remember when we had that utterly relaxing day before the wedding, went mini-golfing, and saw how empty the parking lot at Hollywood Studios was? Well, two days before President's Day, Hollywood Studios was NOT that empty.
DH and I decided to sleep a little this morning. We had a 12:30 lunch for 5 (5! Can you believe our numbers dropped that low?) at 50's Prime Time, so we arrived at about 10:30. TSM fastpasses were long gone, and the wait was 120 minutes. Yeah, not TSM for us this trip! Ah well.
Hollywood Studios was looking to be a bit of a nightmare. The crowds were intense, especially coming out of a quiet week! When planning the trip we knew that we were going from low to high season, but it was kind of crazy to go from fairly empty parks to insane crowds.
http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae70/neener3/End%20of%20Florida2011/FloridaWeddingTrip2011481.jpg
We had a decent lunch at 50's Prime Time, although we were late getting in, and service was a bit slow...so it was almost 3 by the time we got out. The Beauty and the Beast show was at 3:30 and it is my FAVOURITE, so there was no missing it! Bless DH, as he had seen Beauty and the Beast Thursday night with my MOH and her bf while I was shopping (her favourite too ;) , but he didn't complain...much....;)

After the show we met up with DH's family, who had gone to Indiana Jones instead. We squeezed in the Muppets, which I always love, and then headed over to Tower of Terror. It was quite a wait, but we people watched. I don't know why I go on this ride. I hate it. Honestly. And I keep my eyes closed the WHOLE time, and I actually sweat, I get so worked up. Eugh. The pictures are always funny though! We thought we'd attempt to use our fastpasses for Rockin' Rollercoaster after this...well. The fastpass line was longer than the regular line, and the regular line was NOT short. There went that idea.
So, in Hollywood Studios we accomplished lunch, Beauty and the Beast, The Muppets, and Tower of Terror. Nothing else! DH really wanted to see Wishes again, so we thought we'd do it tonight...we headed over to MK, and DH's family headed to Downtown Disney.
We managed to time it impeccably, and scored great spots for the parade! I must say, it's way easier finding spots for 2 than 20....

We ended up following the parade up to the partner's statue, and scored great spots for the castle show and Wishes. Against the fence, so nobody could squeeze in front of me. I know what I'm doing! Sigh. Perfection.
Our perfect spot:

DH reached into the bag to pull out his "sweater" when it got cooler...well, guess who has a t-shirt and long-sleeved shirt the same colour?? He was pretty funny about it, and insisted on putting it on.
http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae70/neener3/End%20of%20Florida2011/FloridaWeddingTrip2011538.jpg
After that, we decided to head out...what a madhouse. They were doing another memories castle show right after the fireworks...we ended up taking the "lovely" backstage way out...right past the dumpsters, yummmm. So magical.
Back at Pop, we had a very late night dinner, where I tried this:
http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae70/neener3/End%20of%20Florida2011/FloridaWeddingTrip2011540.jpg
It was not good.
Despite the crowds, this was a good day. It was nice just meeting for lunch and a ride with a few people. No pressure. Super fun being in MK alone with DH...we've never been without family, and we've been to Disney 4 times together. Back in the room, we started packing up, as we were heading to AKL the next day!
I pictured our random "stuff" here...I tease DH about the juxtaposition between my bridal ears and the hat that he'd been wearing!

Oh you CAN'T miss Beauty and the Beast. It was nice of DH, I showed my appreciation by not embarrassing him by singing along (much). I would go to Beauty and the Beast every day if I could.
Oddly enough, we don't usually see ANY parades, DH's family is more a "squeeze in any ride that you possibly can" kind of crew...and I admit, I often fall into that category too. But it really is nice and relaxing. If there's not 20 of you, you can stake out a good spot, and nobody elbows you or invades your bubble space TOO much. ;)
That was it, the tye-dye cake. I think. Yuck! I also tried the zebra domes in AKL. Double yuck!

Sunday morning brought check out time at POP. We knew we had a window between check out of Pop and check in at AKL, and we didn't really have an agenda on the go. We decided we'd haul our stuff over to DH's mom's room to have a little time with her before we headed off (Grammie and DH's brother were at the golf course). When I got to the room, his mom had her computer set up, so I hopped online to change my name on facebook (lol) and check some emails. I started jumping and squealing when I opened up the emails, because our pictures were sent to us! We went through them twice and then I went about in a flurry emailing the link so family members and a few close friends.
Finally, DH pried me from the computer and we headed out to the front of the building. We decided that we weren't too into lugging our four bags via Disney transport, we had some cash left (almost unheard of with us this close to the end of a trip!) so we cabbed it over. Our driver was odd. And when we arrived, nobody helped us with the bags. The driver just sat in the car, and we had to open the back doors ourselves to lug out our four bags. Needless to say, there was no tipping going on there.
AKL is BEAUTIFUL. Pop certainly did the trick for us for the trip: we were asking a lot for people to travel down for our wedding, and we wanted to be somewhat accessible too, so that's why we stayed there. We knew people would have stayed wherever, but felt awkward asking people to stay in a higher level hotel. But AKL...wow. You can just FEEL it...hard to explain.

http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae70/neener3/End%20of%20Florida2011/FloridaWeddingTrip2011550.jpg
We dropped our luggage off with concierge, then went to the front desk even though we knew our room probably wouldn't be ready. It wasn't, but that was okay...we ended up heading down to Mara to have lunch (where I tried the zebra domes - ew! That would be 0 for 2 on desserts for me in a 24 hour period.). After Mara, we wandered around checking out the pool, the resort in general, and the animals.
http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae70/neener3/End%20of%20Florida2011/FloridaWeddingTrip2011548.jpg
We then decided to skip over to Animal Kingdom. Kind of a long story...but when we were at Animal Kingdom with the rest of the crew, my MOH had been looking for a bracelet. Her aunt had visited Animal Kingdom the year it opened and had bought a bracelet, and worn it all the time. She died shortly after the visit, very suddenly, and my MOH has worn it ever since. Well, the bracelet was starting to fray and she's always worried now that she'll lose it. The day that we were in Animal Kingdom she had wanted to look for it right away, but her boyfriend wanted to do something else, and convinced her to wait. By the time she got to the kiosk they were closed (right before supper). It was not good. She was fairly devastated, and he was totally in the doghouse for it. Anyway, so we headed back to scout out the bracelets. We didn't have any luck. :confused3 I asked at a bunch of places, and they didn't have the right clasp on it (the tree of life). Boo. I did tell her however, that they didn't seem to exist anymore so she'd stop blaming Kyle!
http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae70/neener3/End%20of%20Florida2011/FloridaWeddingTrip2011551.jpg

DH got up early the next morning and brought back brekkie, which we enjoyed on the balcony watching the animals.

I don't even think we spoke while rounding things up...we didn't want to leave. We got out to the Magical Express and he wouldn't let us on...apparently they had us scheduled to leave the day earlier from Pop. Bah. He wasn't very nice about it. DH got it straightened out at the front desk. I was willing to stay at Disney and forget the whole leaving thing altogether.
The line at the airport to get through security was insane...we were late leaving, and then found out there was a storm coming into Toronto, so we just ended up hoping that we'd beat it out to get home. I mean, I wouldn't mind staying in Florida, but cold, snowy Toronto was a different story! My zumba instructor ended up on our flight to Halifax, and she teased me about showing up to the next class now that I "was an old married lady". We landed...to snow and ice pellets. Welcome home.
That's it folks. I'm really glad I did this TR. Sometimes when I'm having a blah day I go back and read. Even the crazy meltdowns put a little smile on my face...although I'm still not over the poncho incident. ;)
