Can anyone tell me what HH is like when it is high season? I went in February, so I didn't get access to all activities and the beach house was closed. What can my family expect with respect to pool and beach house crowds? What do you recommend as a strategy for making the most out of a six night stay? Thanks for your help.

HH (the island) is a very busy vacation spot in the summer months and HH (the DVC resort) is no exception.

Expect the pool to be well used and the same for the Beach House. Both pools get a lot of use during this time. The activities are in full swing, but some may require reservations- check with the front desk for details at check-in.

The beach is large enough to accommodate large crowds, so don't worry about finding a spot to lay your towel. The island in general is well equipped to handle the summer crowds as far as dining and shopping are concerned. Be aware that the roadways do get congested- so plan travel with a few extra minutes if you have a dinner reservation.

HH in summer is a great adventure. We wouldn't miss it! Enjoy!

Doc,

The Dumbo family (don't laugh :) ) will be arriveing at Disney's Hilton Head Resort on Father's Day. Got 5 nights in a 2 bedroom at the 7 month window. Made some DVC'er happy by cancelling same 2 bedroom at Disney's Boardwalk Villas. I understand you may be arriveing a week after me. I'd leave a light on for you, but you know about the riseing costs of electricity. :)

Thanks, Dumbo! I suspect that housekeeping would turn that light off anyway!

Actually , we arrive June 29 for a week and can't wait! :)

We'll be in HH for 7-21 July staying for a week at Marriott's Monarch and then a week at Marriott's Grande Ocean. We'll have to get by DVC and check out things.
