Laurie - Make sure when you call back that you mention the name of the lawyer who recommended. Also, if you can't speak to her, ask her secretary if you can go ahead and make an appointment for a consultation, how much it would cost, is the first consultation free, etc. etc. etc. Keep bugging them. If you leave another message and don't get a return call, I would look for another one.

Better than asking for the secretary is asking for the legal assistant. And be persistant, when I worked at a law firm, the squeeky wheel got the call back (one of the lawyers was notorious for not wanting to return phone calls until he felt guilty from multiple phone calls. He was a great attorney, just hated phone calls. lol).

I agree. Call again, ask for all the info, politely but firmly ask how long return phone calls usually take. Also tell them who referred you. Calmly let them know that you have some serious concerns about your position and future.
