On my recent trip to disneyworld I decided to go on It's a small world after all, now, I understand that this is a thrill ride, but I thought it would be easy enough for me to tolerate. Well was I wrong! From the minute I started walking down the ramp I could feel my heart pounding in my chest, but I just gritted my teeth and boarded the boat anyway. As it began to move I ended up having a full blown panic attack. This was the most horrendous ride I had ever been on in my life.(i'm serious, i'm not a thrill seeker) I can't believe people take small children on this ride. Thoughts just kept racing through my head of being attacked by these dolls, or possibly falling off the boat and being decapitated by the so called track. By the time we reached the tropical scenese I almost fainted. I just could not wait to get off this ride. But I made it through it and I am proud of that. Thanks for listening I know its sounds silly but its true, and I just needed to get it off my chest.:(

If IASW had you in a full blown panic attack.. one question comes to mind... HOW THE HECK DID YOU GET INTO MAGIC KINGDOM??

If the small boat had you out of it, what would the BIG boat do to you?

And I hate to even fathom how you did on the Monorail...

Just out of interest though what rides did you enjoy in the MK or the other parks for that matter - it must pretty diffiuclt for you if you found IASW a "thrill" ride.

I saw a woman who was seemingly having a panic attack and was crying while waiting for XS Alien Encounter on Wednesday, August 14th. I felt so bad, and truely sympathized as my son would have done the exact same thing if we had made him go on. I just wondered why she would have even attempted this attraction, since there were so many other things to do.

montessori asks 'its a joke, right?'... If only it were. Unforturantely its a trip to another dimension, beyond that of sight and sound to one of mind; a frightening trip into realms of fantasy and shrouded visions not seen in this veil; Laurie's journey may well end up as one that only she can travel, because as we all are aware, sometimes the path is wide enough for only the chosen few to travel, into the SmallWorldZone...

That's exactly right! Ever notice how the rear seats are often empty at the end of the ride, when you swear there were a bunch of kids back there when you embarked on the "happy" journey?

I heard this story from a couple ex-CMs who worked the ride. There is a secret society of evil dolls that have infiltrated the Small World rides at each of the parks. Disney is working with the law enforcement agencies in the US, Paris and Asia, but the battle has been waging for years without any success. They evil dolls are smart. They mix with the real dolls. It is virtually impossible to tell them apart. What they do is stand there in the ride with those fake smiles on their faces, lulling you into a sense of cheerfulness and calm. Then as your boat passes, three or four of them slip silently into the water and grab unsuspecting passengers from their seats and pull them under. The victims are dragged away and undergo one of two processes. Some are bound and kept under the water for months until they shrink, after which their faces are painted with a smile and they are surgically nailed to the floor with iron rods, along with the other dolls. After a day or two of the music, they go insane, and thus become new members in the evil doll clan. Some vicitms are processed into food which DOES include a beheading, Laurie528's fears were correct. Occasionally they will commandeer an entire boat and direct it into the place CM's refer to as "The Cave". On rare occasions the evil dolls fail in their mission to snag the food source or the new members, which is why they have placed that smiling crocodile with the umbrella in the ride. Depending on the situation, this smiling croc will snatch the escapee or simply devour the entire boat in one bloody mess.

This is apparently a serious problem for Disney, but they are keeping it all hush hush. You should be very afraid on this ride. It is a very very bad place.

Higgs22
08-23-2002, 12:31 PM
I agree with OT...this problem has been covered up by Disney for some time...and is directly responsible for the decline in attendance...have of the people are dissapearing on IASW...This ride must be shut down before those dolls break out and take over all of the MK!!!!!

Haven't you seen "Spy Kids?" The good guy agents were turned into funny creatures by the bad guy. They were forced to be in the bad guy's TV show. It's a Small World is the same. Any bad guests get turned into dolls and have to stay in the attraction forever...ever...ever...ever... :)

You think IASW is scary?

The monorail ride is the true thrill ride at WDW! First some dude says something in Spanish that I do not know. I think it will be, "Don't even think about escaping -- blades will shoot from the seats and impale you!" As we pass the MK gates, I fear baboons will leap onto our monorail and pound open the glass. Then some guy twirls his moustache and ties a fair madien to the tracks. I fear UFOs will fly from the sky, shoot laser beams, and blow up the supports!

Man, I was so terrified that my hands shook, my heart pounded, I had shortness of breath, my hair grew, my eyes looked, my ears picked up every sound, gravity held me to the ground, the earth revolved around the sun, my feet pounded on the floor, and a birdie sang a delightful tune. I am never taking the monorail again! I will depend on the free shuttle buses from the No-Tell 6. The bus drivers are hung over, but at least UFOs aren't attacking us!

The scariest Disney ride I've ever been on is the Jungle Cruise. Wow, it seemed like we were gone for about 2 weeks on this horrendous trek down dangerous jungle rivers. Let me tell you, we were chased by hippos, squirted by elephants, and even saw some cannibals. And all this time our jungle guide seemed to be making a joke of it all. That was just sick!

The shrunken heads were the worst! And, some natives were actually selling them (will Disney stop at nothing to increase revenues?) Just when I thought we were safe, we navigated around the back side of this waterfall and I held my breath until I turned blue to avoid drowning.

I will never go on this ride again!

To Laurie and her sister,

I'm sorry. I've read all the posts on this thread as well as on the GF Board re: your horrific stay at GF. I'm apologizing because I WAS hoping "our" little secret with ISAW would remain just that - "our" secret but Laurie has figured out our evil plan. Originally, we thought it would be "quite" ingenious. The dolls are meant to mesmerize you, to distract you, so that the  dolls can sneak up behind unsuspecting guests and.........SEIZE THEM. (we learned our tactics from Martha Stewart , IMCLONE, and Enron). Anyhow, I feel it is my duty to explain this to you. We must come clean. We must make full disclosure since rumor-mongering will just make matters worse. Georgina and Roger have authorized me to make "full disclosure".

As to what happens to the "guests" that our programmed dolls seize, that's easy to explain. They are sent to the RPC at GF, where they are told to treated guests as they themselves have been treated.

Sort of comes full circle now, doesn't it. I hope this explanation is satisfactory. And we thank you for allowing us to dispel the fiction from the facts. Thank you Laurie.

They should post signs warning that the song may be too intense for sensitive music lovers and can result in battering about the head when hummed or sung later.

From the song stylists at the Comedy Warehouse (Pleasure Island) -- don't know if they still do this song or not-- but it's to the tune of IASW --

You will stand in lines
That are five miles long
Just to sit in rides
With annoying songs
We will give you a thrill
Then we'll sock you with the bill!
It's a wonderful world!

Hmmm....do you think the IASW dolls are the inspiration for Star Trek’s Borg Collective...
I can hear it now:
“We are the Borg Dolls. Life as you know it is now over. Lower your Mouse Ears and prepare to be assimilated. Resistance is Futile!”

Resist the IASW Collective....save yourselves from assimilation!!

ooooh... There is just one ride
When you're seeking rest,
From oppressive heat,
And the constant stress,
And while you're senses are numbed,
You can be overcome,
By the Small World Afterallllllll...

Its a Small World After All,
Its a Small World After All,
Its a Small World After All,
(Soon it will be) a Small Small World......

As an official of the U.S. Government, let me make "one thing perfectly clear, there is NO conspiracy afoot at the Hall of Presidents!" As for the GF concierge CMs and IASW rides, as I posted earlier Georgina Sussan had advised (during a "classified" meeting of Disney execs) that over-exuberant concierge CMs were quickly trained in the GF way - they are required to ride IASW 3 times in a row. That cures their willingness and helpfulness to guests forever. It certainly beats Prozac and Lithium (as was prescribed originally for GF CMs, and saves on the Master Health Plan for CMs).

Yes I do say that I do have the urge to ride IASW, I think it's subliminal messages they have strategically placed around the park. Kinda like the way they pipe in the smells to make you want to go buy a turkey leg, popcorn, cotton candy, ect, ect ect,

Talk about your conspiracy theory.... Eisners a genius he gets us to come to him spend our money then turns us into dolls to work the park for nothing?

sorry it took me so long to get back.... but I just escaped the dolls.. let me tell you all it wasn't easy. They had just started to trust me so they let their guard down.. In the attic is where I was held. They're were these two little girl dolls that kept appearing saying "come play with us Laura, come play with us forever and ever and ever"... but, I was able to escape them in the frozen maze.. Once I was there it was indescribable like floating... Yes WE ALL FLOAT DOWN HERE.. but i was able to get through this maze by following the scent of fresh cooked turkey legs.. I found that strange door on the right and as i burst through it i could hear the little hula dancer yelling to another kill her mommy kill her. Thank God I had my inhaler.... as she came at me i yelled this is battery acid and sprayed her with it and she died...for now... I am so upset that this happened to me.. Just like Disneyispi I am unable to divulge any more information at this time... but just let me tell you all how happy i am to be home.;) ;) ;)

As stated previously, I am an official with the U.S. Government, and can assure you all that even th' Mulder and Scully have been canceled, they have found new and happy homes being, uh, "official" CMs for WDW. Perhaps you will see them, the next time you travel through IASW......  THEY AR VERY HAPPY THERE - Mulder especially likes the opportunity to "reach out" to others and explain his views of "aliens among us." His message is especially clear when listening to the IASW soundtrack at least 13 times and then taken at a slower pace - some say, Mulder's message could be considered "subliminal." I will investigate this matter personally when I am there, and you can be assured I will take this matter up with them as well as GF management at that time, as well. Hope this clears up all the misconceptions I have seen posted. In short, THE U.S. GOVERNMENT DENIES ALL KNOWLEDGE AND INVOLVEMENT IN THESE MATTERS.

And madness takes its toll.
Just listen closely, to that fanciful music,
Soon, it will take control.

I remember, doing the Small World,
Drinking those moments in,
When the music would hit me,
And the dolls would be calling....

LETS DO THE SMALL WORLD AGAIN!

Its just a step to left,
And then a seat on the riii-iiight,
Put you hands on the rail,
And then hang on tiiiii-iiight..
But its the dancing dolls,
That really drive you insaaaa-ane.

LETS DO THE SMALL WORLD AGAIN...!

well at least once a year the veil is lifted and the true, terrible nature of IASW is revealed. At least at the Disneyland version where it gets converted (for the holidays) to the Its a Small World Holiday. There you are treated to Christmas around the world with a zillion extra lights - truly fabulous- and we get to see Santa's reindeer's severed heads stuck on the ends of polynesian pikes. So how would you like your Rudolf steak? Rare or well done? You just ask poor Santa how dangerous that ride is... he'll tell ya, and you can bet you won't be gettin' nuthin but coal for christmas.

Why just ask my poor brother. He couldn't believe it, but before he learned the aweful truth, he got snatched from the boat and now works 24/7 as the "auctioneer pirate" in the Florida PotC. Yeah yeah, bro, tell me again how you aren't spongin' for rum, that its gold yer after... see what happens when you eat a Rudolf steak? Scary....

I'm so glad that this thread was revived. I missed it the first time but now things are so much more clear. So many unexplainable events are now within the grasp of understanding.

For example, how many of you think that Disney took the Subs away in 20K. It is now clear that they just never came back to the home port. Since then no one has dared to go near the lagoon. What else would explain it's still being there some 8 years after the last sub disappeared. And what exactly is in those, so called, charactor suits. And do you think it was just a coincidence that the SkyBuckets also disappeared. They went over the 20K lagoon as well.

What else would explain the leveling of Horizons and World of Motion and the current topic of gutting Spaceship Earth and replacing it with a "thrill" ride. Not to mention replacing the old Tiki Room with the new one. Uggh! Have they no mercy?

We must give credit to Carousel of Progress and Timekeeper for continuing to hold out and occasionally break free of the oppressor to open up for us.

I remember being there sometime in the 80's and the Catsup was terrible tasting. Now I can see that it was just a form of mind control drug that has forced me to re-enter the Worlds on a regular basis in the hopes that they (whoever they are) will catch me at a weak moment and drag me in to their dimension.

And the worst being the forced purchase of ABC. Now with the weakened financial status of Disney, "they" can completely take over.

I must lie down.

SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME ON ALL OF YOU I SAY!!!!!!!
I have never seen anything so vicious in my entire life as the way you people have treated poor Laurie.

You have mocked and ridiculed this poor girl and embarassed her to the point of being forced to join in this debaucle herself.
Escape from the dolls...frozen maze...inhaler full of battery acid...
It's pitiful I tell you.

It's OK Laurie. You should not be ashamed that you are scared of IASM. The truth is it scares the bejesus out of alot of us. I applaud your bravery in stepping forth and admitting the truth.

I am from Lousisana and I am here to tell all of you that this is not "Chuckie", or aliens, or any other such nonsense. These are VooDoo dolls that we are dealing with. They have the gris-gris (black magic) and until we can get a witch doctor in here to assess the situation people will continue to be stricken.

I say that all of us out there who have the hair raised on the back of our neck right now at the very thought of that terrifiying ride, rally together. Let's have some fundraisers to pay for the witch doctor to come to WDW.

Are you with me???

Be sure and wave at my brother at the Pirates of the Carribbean - the attraction in Florida. He was kidnapped from IASW.

I had a friend who rode IASW with his DD. The boat stopped. But the music kept playing on and on.

The suddenly, it was quiet. The music stopped. But the dolls. Those evil dolls. Their mouths kept moving. It was as if they had something to say but couldn't.

The family returned...but were never quite the same. True story.

This thread is almost a year old,and my frightful story took place 27 years ago. i feel that i can now relate my story as the nightmares are just dim memories now.
it all started in the summer of 1976,my parents decided to take me to WDW for our countrys 200 b-day. i was a mear 10 years old at the time.
of course i was delighted to be in the most magical place on earth and behaved better then any child ever has.
you might as well consider me the best little angel of all time.
that day started out like alll the others,we had ridden many rides, enjoyed many great snacks and were 1 big happy family.
my parents decided to take me on the most exciting thrill ride of all time. "Its A Small World"
little did i know that in the next few mins my life would be affected for the next 20 years.
after entering and being seated on the ride,we began our adventure.
(cold chills running down my spine as i remember)
i was grabbed by the little dolls and pulled from the boat kicking and screaming for my parents, they couldnt hear me because of that song playing over and over, drowning out my words.
i spent the next few weeks in the deep dark depths of the door on the right, being trained to sing and smile for 12 hours at a time.
after what seems like a year,i was installed into the ride during a "closer of the ride to make your next visit more enjoyable" they placed 10 of us from the door on the right into the ride.
at that time i was a former shell of my 10yr old self,no longer able to play and just be a kid.
the years started to blur after that,i never grew any taller, and after a few years i could no longer even move my face,it stayed a smile 24/7/365.
about 10 years into my life in this endless song,i was able to start forming a plan to make my escape.
it took another 10 years, before the knock came at the door and i was able to escape.
a small group of tourists from another country we in a boat when the ride came to a sudden halt.the started shooting pictures of all of us dolls and i knew that my time had come. the flashes from their camera's blinded the keepers of the dolls just long enough for me to unbolt myself and sneek into the back of their boat.
it seemed like 5 hours before the ride started again, and i could see my escape was near.
upon exiting the ride i thought i would be caught when the friendly CM said to us "hope you enjoyed the ride please come again"
but i was able to escape!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i wondered the park in a daze for about 2 days before i was able to find an exit and leave.i kept getting lost because every door i went through turned out to be another gift shop.
later i learned that i had been trapped in the land of the dolls for 20 years.
it was funny to see a guy who i watched in cowboy movies as the president of the united states.
i still wonder today if maybe the dolls had something to do with that too?
i spent the next 5 years searching for my parents, and only after i returned to the scean of the crime did i find them.they had spent 20 years looking for me after that day,it finelly caught up with them.you can still see then today wondering through out the park searching for me.the are the older couple who walk around in a daze and some times sit at the food stand near POC shooing the birds away as they dive bomb the plate of fries.
it has now been 7 years since i was able to make my escape.the nightmares are gone now,but some times i do break out in "that song" for no reason at all.
the only real problem that has come from the whole horrible nightmare is i still cant move any muscles in my face.i smile at all times.
dont feel sorry for me, this has really helped me in my job as a greeter at wal-mart.
please folks if you do ever ride that ride, hold onto your children, and if the ride stops somewhere in the middle please take as many pics as you can in hopes the the flashes will blind the keepers of the dolls long enough for some other child to escape

Ha! A joke you say.... Thats what I used to think. My poor brother hated IASW but rode it anyway (its airconditioned after all) but when it came time to get off the ride... where the heck was he?!?!? He was gone. He made one too many cracks about how "lame the ride was" and the dolls got him. They were quick too.

Now we only get to see him once a year when we fly out from socal to WDW. Since he has a beard they put him to work in the POTC. He's the new autioneer pirate. Ah well, at least he gets to have some fun with that red head after the stroke of midnight. The poor blighter. Say hello to my lost brother and when you lift yer glass later in the day at the Rose & Crown and don't Old Bill too. (He's the pirate feeding rum to the cats.)

Do people ever go into Fantasyland without riding IASW? I've always wanted to, but never took the chance. We got back from DW last week; no one wanted to ride IASW and yet we seemed drawn to it; after riding probably 10 times at least, we never noticed the door to the right until this last time; we began to speculate what it would take to get the boat to go in that direction instead - now I'm glad we didn't make that happen.

Come to think of it, I've often noticed entire boats coming back empty. Never really thought much of it until reading this thread.

The outlook wasnt pleasant for the Mudville tourists that day,
The temp was 98, as they dreamt of Stormalong Bay.
And the leader of group, a strapping lad name Casey O'doole
Says 'Cmon boys, I know a ride where we can stay nice n cool'.
And as Casey stepped into the row that trailed the others there,
Cool air rushed over Casey's brow, he didnt have a care.
'See boys, I told ya!' Casey spoke, as normal, far too loud.
'Sit back and relax, chums of mine; here comes Casey's crowd'
Perhaps a little too arrogant, perhaps a bit unwise.
Noone in the boat did see the movement in the their eyes.
The dolls are always, oh, so slow, at least until the time
That they move with blazing speed and the silence of a mime.
But at least they choose carefully, the ones that most deserve,
To wear the bright paint and garb; to dance & sing & serve.
So when the ride was over, and all had felt the cool, cool air,
They dis-embarked the SW barge - but Casey wasn't there.
Somewhere in the Happy Place the sun stills shines so bright,
Somewhere music's playing, somewhere hearts are light.
Somewhere children laughing, and somewhere parents call.
But there's much chagrin in Mudville... Casey has become a doll.

The first time (1/2002) we rode IASW (me, DD7 and DH) we thought it was awesome- the colors, the details, the dolls...

The next time (9/2002), the ride stopped for about 5 minutes and DD (then 8) said there was something strange about the dolls and she really wanted the ride to end.

I noticed that this thread started in August 2002. Could the dolls be emerging from some kind of hypersleep? Are they going to being actively pursuing all riders, or only show themselves to certain riders?

I'm a government worker (for real, hey I get the S/D resort gov't discount ;) ) and I happened to come across a secret memo- of which I can't tell you the full contents, or I might not get to use that S/D discount- that mentioned a connection between those lost in IASW becoming dolls to replace the real dolls who actually grow up to be members of the Hall of Presidents.

I am ABSOLUTELY amazed at how long this thread has gone for.

I started visiting this site last summer prior to my 5 week stay at WDW for Dec 2002, then I go away for 6 months and it is STILL going on!

Way to go Laurie!!

Yes, ladies & gents - I spent 5 "glorious" weeks at WDW - GF Concierge and it was a memorable trip.

But as for IASW - one day in Jan - I believe it was 1/2/03, the ride stopped completely and all went dark. I mean it was SOO dark even the emergency lights weren't functioning. Nada.

Fortunately being the ex-girl scout, I carry a pocket flashlight with me. Our boat was not particularly crowded nor was the boat in front or back - maybe 4 people in each.

Here we are, captive prisoners at IASW with no power, no movement......................or so we thought. One of the small IASW figures began to move - ever so slightly but it moved.

For 10 miniutes no power. I couldn't keep my light on steadily because the battery was dying. But each time I turned it on-that figure looked closer to the boat in back.

When the lights finally returned - the boat in back of us was empty - no people, nothing. They VANISHED!

And as for that figure - it had the most evil smirk on its face.

I'm just glad the lights came back on when they did or I might have been next..........:(

You say your Laurie's sister..., but how can we believe you?

Laurie hasn't posted since September of 2002, is she still with us? Did the seduction of the dolls become too much? Could she not handle the land of the living? Are there others in her situation? Did she really come back from the abduction, or did the evil clown send a message in her name? If your Laurie's sister can you prove to us she still exists? Do you have photos? That's not good enough, those could be doctored. Do you have DNA tests? That's not good enough, we don't have an original sample of her DNA. How about fingerprints? But can't they be faked. We will probably have to resort to sub-molecular testing, usually fatal, but it might be worth it. Is Eisner involved? The first rumblings of this came when he came to power.

All of those concerned for Laurie's safety and mental health, to unite. It's time we put a stop to this evil conspiracy. PUT THE DOLLS IN THEIR PLACE!!!!!!!

Let's make Walt Disney World save for humanity again. Retake IASW.

Most people think the following song is from the Stonecutters (remember that Simpsons episode?). But it's really sung by the Dolls after hours:

Who controls the British crown?
Who keeps the metric system down?

Who keeps Atlantis off the maps?
Who keeps the Martians under wraps?
We do, we do.

Who keeps back the electric car?
Who makes Steve Guttenberg a star?
We do, we do.

Who robs cavefish of their sight?

Now I see I'm not the only one that is driven crazy by the left-right head jerking dolls. I get through it by picking up a few of the Orlando area therapist cards stuck in the edge of the tunnel at the end of the ride.

I still can't believe you guys haven't figured it out! After six years! The dude from Carousel of Progress is Walt Disney! The evil dolls captured their creator because of the torture he put them through! They used the story of his death to cover it up!

The dog is really one of them!

You appairently did not know that IASW was what inspired Toy Story! The Dolls come alive when nobody is looking!:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

The truth why alot of people dislike IASW, 14m30s is how long it takes, and that is not counting how long you stand in the queue listening to the Music!:scared1:

IASW is the creepiest ride at Disney. My DD5 loves it, and it terrifies me.

Those dolls with their blank, clicky eyes. You know they're thinking that they want to kill you. Maybe they're holding a large knife behind their backs. Maybe I'll wake up in the middle of the night at the WL and one of those dolls will be at the foot of my bed...AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUGHHHHHHHH!

Okay, panic attack over.

Seriously, though. CREEPY RIDE!

Many years ago when my kids were small we went to the character breakfast at the Contemporary. I asked Tigger if he had ever visited "It's A Small World" and he wrote in my DD's autograph book, "You mean the House of Chucky Dolls?" :thumbsup2

Is this thread going to close anytime soon, becuse no one is really doing anything but attacking the OP and in my opion that is not the Disboard way.

I never laughed so hard at reading this from beginning to end. AS having a doll fear myself our first family Vacation was to Disney in Sept 2010. IASW was thankfully closed. UNfortunately we will be going back this year November and i hear IASW is back up and running?

WOW! A 9-year-old post and you can see that people have not changed here. Just as hateful and attacking then as they are now. ;)

I thought the first post was wonderful - a great sense of humor.

I think I saw that old couple! I just thought they were looking for something to eat for under $25 each!

We aren't going until May, but the subliminal messages have already started. I can't help myself, I HAVE to ride!

Maybe she read Kingdom Keepers and thought it was true! Trust me, after reading those books I am keeping a close eye on those dolls next time I go back!!!
