Eastern Ontario Dis Meet?

I'm trying to put together a short notice DIS meet in Brockville next Thursday or Friday. So far Nagle and Mickey65 are planning on joining us. Anyone else?

Right now we are in the planning stages..I just sent Kathy a PM about meeting for lunch or dinner to see which was better. Also, we are hoping ot meet on Thursday......is there any way that that works for you?

As far as suggestions go?????? I'm not at all familiar with any of the restaurants in Brockville anymore.

Kingston has so many good ones we don't venture up that way to eat much anymore so this will be a good opportunity to do so!

I have always loved to look at some of the old houses in Brockville.

How about Kelseys? the food is pretty good there and not too expensive. It is right off the 401, or Kath if you are coming along HWY 2 , it is easy to get there that way too. If that sounds good to everyone, I can make a reservation.

Was the pub you are talking about the Isaic Brock? That would be a fine place to meet too, but it might be smokey :( I can't remember if Brockville went non smoking or not.

This is turning into a great meet! All these new DISers for me to meet! Woohoo!
Nagle, I hope that you can convince your family to come too. My DH (MLEO) and DS(14) and DD(11) will be there too. None of us were too sure what to expect the first time we went to a DIS meet, but we soon found that these people are a LOT of fun! Now, whenever we can, we get to the meets.

I will need to use the family car DH may come with me so 5 is a wee bit early since hubby doesn't get off work at Queen's till 5 but I'm positive we could leave a little early that day and be there by six.

I am sooo happy about this as I could never get away for any meets in the Toronto area. It just never worked out for us to get enough time to go that far and get back!

Wish I could go but we're getting ready to take DS off to his first year at University (WLU in Waterloo) on Sunday so it will probably be a little too hectic for me (& it's also starting to hit me that he's leaving & I'm getting really down...you know - first child to leave the nest). Hi guys.

wenabre called and told me about this meet. My first thought was I can't because I would need to go by myself but then Richard (my fiance) said he thinks he is getting off of work early on Thursday and doesn't have to be in before 9 am on Friday. So it looks like we can go now if we are still allowed to join you guys.

His name on the DIS is StarWarsMan but he doesn't post lots, he just reads then tells me to post.

What do you bring to a meet? Photo Albums, t-shirts, souvies,...???

I guess that is how we would be going. How long of a ride is it to Brockville from Ottawa? I have never been so this is a good excuse. I will bring the photos if people want to see them. I would love to see everyone else's.

We plan on wearing our Disney Shirts so you will know who we are when you see us but we are very hard to miss.

It is about an hour and 15-20 minutes from the top of the 416 Sam (depending on how fast you drive and traffic ;) )

Take the first exit (can't remember the exit number) going into Brockville. It stops at a set of lights. Go through the lights and stay in the left lane. Keep going....you will go through I think 3 or 4 lights. Canadian Tire is on the right side.....the mall is on the left, and Kelsey's is right by there on the left.

Can't wait to see everyone!

Thanks for making my first DIS meet so much fun. Richard said he really enjoyed being around people that made me sound normal for my love of Disney.

Becuase of the pictures we saw...He wants to stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge at X-mas. Thanks for creating a monster.

Well, we're finally home! We had a great time meeting all of you! I'm so glad that my last minute whim paid off so well with so many people being able to make it! I couldn't believe that I forgot to take in my camera! It was out in the car the whole time, but I never thought of it.:(
