Another upgrade question or two

If you get an upgrade at the port, how do they know where to put your luggage? What if you have things that should be delivered to your room such as excursion tickets and gifts?
Also, do you ask about the upgrades at the desks where you get your room key?

You do ask for the upgrade at the desk when you check in at the port. Unfortunately, your luggage is delivered to the stateroom number noted on your tags. We advised our stateroom host that we upgraded and asked that our luggage be brought up from our previously assigned stateroom. This took a while and we ended up in shorts at dinner that evening since our luggage had not yet been delivered. I don't know about gifts or excursions tickets. Since those are usually delivered prior to boarding time, I would imagine you would have to have those retrieved as well.

I guess if I am considering changing rooms, I should bring a nice outfit in my carry on bag for dinner!

We upgraded at the port and our luggage was diverted to the correct stateroom. It was there earlier than I expected. My guess is that it is hit and miss.
