Matching Mickey Mouse Club T-Shirts

http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-4/149620/designall.dll.jpeg
On a casual dining evening (date yet to be determined), we are planning our own Mickey Mouse Club Night to make us very disguisable to other Magic guests and to one another! It’s also another great photo opportunity! So if you would like to participate, you can purchase your t-shirt(s) at either www.DisneyStore.com (http://www.disneystore.com/tees-mickey-mouse-club-you-design-it-tee-for-adults/p/1239031/305603/) or Zazzle.com (http://www.zazzle.com/mickey+mouse+club+tshirts).
There are variations of t-shirt styles that you can purchase (especially at Zazzle) for the whole family in a wide range of sizes. So choose your favorite style and don’t forget to personalize it with your name on the back in a LARGE font. Some DISers are choosing Impress as their font of choice, but feel free to use whatever you like best!
On a final note, pack your Ears if you have them to go with your MMC shirt!
Note that Zazzle DOES ship internationally, where DisneyStore does not.
[LIST] DisneyStore.com (http://www.disneystore.com/disney/store/DSISearch?D=mickey+mouse+club&Dn=0&langId=-1&Nao=0&Ntk=All_Shopping&Nr=AND%28OR%28pStoreID%3A10051%2CpStoreID%3A10601% 2CpStoreID%3A10052%29%2CpPublished%3A1%29&catalogId=10002&Nu=pProductID&Ntt=mickey+mouse+club&Dx=mode+matchallpartial&storeId=10051&Ntx=mode+matchallpartial&Dr=AND%28OR%28pStoreID%3A10051%2CpStoreID%3A10601% 2CpStoreID%3A10052%29%2CpPublished%3A1%29&Ns=pGrossMargin|1||pSortName|0&N=0&categoryId=11776):
Zazzle.com (http://www.zazzle.com/mickey+mouse+club+tshirts):
One point to mention is that on Zazzle's site, they have two circular-looking graphic versions of the Mickey Mouse Club t-shirt. One looks like the one Todd posted (http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=36866226&postcount=3616), which is identical to the one on Disney's site, and Zazzle also has a second, a less dazzling one, that does not have the "Member" and "1956" reference. The screenprint is also different in color. So please make sure you select the correct one.
We will be wearing the MMC shirts on Night 11 of the cruise

Cruise Banner (logo) for signature lines
Thar be many a crew asking me if they can be adding the cruise banner to there signature , And I figured I wouldnt keep it all to me onesies so here be three different sizes you can be adding to your signature line , Beware , those crewmates that dont be adding it could find themselves walking the plank come Sept 2010 ...Savvy ??
Instructions to add Banner to signature line Thanks Tia
Right click the size logo that you want and select properties. Copy the link then go to User CP and Edit Signature. Using the little yellow square (looks like a picture of mountains) above the signature box, paste the link that you copies from the photo properties. Make sure you don't get 2 http entries. Instead of using the yellow box, you can just type then paste the link and end with - no spaces in between the brackets and the link.

Where to get Adult Beverages before the cruise in Barcelona
Before the 2007 TA, we discovered the wine shop in El Corte Ingles, which is a department store located at the top of Las Ramblas. The wine department is on the lower level, in the grocery store. The selection is fabulous, and the prices incredible!

Secret Mickey
SECRET MICKEY IS NOW CLOSED
Welcome to the WBTA Secret Mickey:
This works along the same idea as a Secret Santa. Each participating stateroom will be matched with another stateroom, and the idea is to buy or make a gift or gifts, with a total cost per cabin of no more than $25. The gift (s) can be one big joint gift for all those in the stateroom, or small individual gifts for each person. The gifts can be left in the FE during the cruise, or you can have the room attendant put the gift in the room. You should have a tag/card that designates it as a gift from their Secret Mickey.
At the farewell lunch you can reveal yourself to your Secret Mickey recipient. If you do not plan to attend the lunch, it might be a good idea to reveal your identity by popping a card in your recipients fish towards the end of the cruise.
You will all by now have recieved your Secret Mickey recipients so I hope you have fun :yay:

Barcelona Accommodations List
Color Coding Translation:
The first five columns are grouped into colors based on the specific location of a night's accommodations.
The Arrival Date column is color coded by date. This same color coding is used on the Inbound Barcelona Flight Schedule List for dates of arrival into Barcelona. This makes it easier to cross-reference for whatever coordination you want to work out with fellow DISers, if it be to meet up for ground transportation, dining, or whatever else comes to mind that's legal! :rotfl:
http://i196.photobucket.com/albums/aa55/Buckeye_Gal_OH/DCL%202010%20WB%20Trans-Atlantic/Hotel%20Roll%20Calls/HotelRollCalls0817Pt11245pm.jpg
http://i196.photobucket.com/albums/aa55/Buckeye_Gal_OH/DCL%202010%20WB%20Trans-Atlantic/Hotel%20Roll%20Calls/HotelRollCalls0817Pt21245pm.jpg
INBOUND BARCELONA FLIGHT SCHEDULES
Color Coding Translation:
Where applicable, the first five columns are color coded in groups of travelers who have close to or exact departure date/times at the same airport. In some cases, these DISers may be on the same flight, or at the very least, you will likely be at the airport at the same time. So if you are in the same terminal, you may want to hook up for a mini-DIS meets! :grouphug:
The Arriving Airport column only has coloring (of DIS green) for Barcelona. Used with the Arrival Date/Time fields, this will to help identify those who will be at the BCN airport around the same time.
Arrival Date and Arrival Time fields have a color that corresponds to the color of Arrival Date on the Barcelona Accommodations List. This is to more easily cross-reference who will be headed to the same place on the same day when you arrive to our embarkation city. :woohoo: Again, this is to help facilitate anyone wanting to coordinate ground transportation :car: or if they simply want to give a hello :wave2: down at Customs/baggage claim.

Scrapbooking Exchange
Note the deadline to sign-up was July 16, so the participant list is closed.
Sandi (Hoagie Pie) has organized an exchange for the scrapbookers of the group! The idea is to give a scrapbooking embellishment for use in your scrapbooks after you return home!
Here are some answers to FAQs:
Deadline to sign-up was EOD July 16.
You don't have to spend a lot or any money towards this exchange.
The gift can be homemade, already in your scrapbooking inventory, or purchased.
Some ideas include page borders, journaling boxes, photo frames, titles for pages, and small embellishments.
Your gift can have a theme related to something you do on the ship (games, dining, pirating, etc.), our ports-of-call, cruising in general, Disney, or whatever else comes to mind.
If you have questions, contact Sandi (Hoagie Pie) (http://www.disboards.com/private.php?do=newpm&u=143626)!
The list of participants for the Scrapbooking Exchange is as follows:
(as of July 9)
1DisneyQueen - Dee (5628)
Bareacuda - Ann (8572)
birkner - Noel (8024)

If anybody has any questions, just PM Sandi or if there is anything else, please let her know that as well.

Closes 18th August
A chance to participate in an exchange of postcards during your voyage.
The idea is that people buy postcards of their area/country/town/city etc and deliver a postcard to each person on the list. They don't need to be written on or anything but I'm sure people would like to have something on there to let them know who it was off. If people do want to write a little note on their about their country or town then thats OK too.
So far we have around 15 people taking part and you don't have to be in the Fish Extender Exchange to join in - but please let me know if you don't have an FE as then I can make a note on the list so people know not to expect one and can place the cards directly in the Fish Holder (they are built to hold letters etc anyway).
If anyone would like to take part that isn't on the list let me know.

If anyone would like to be added to this list please PM. Basically it is a list of people who would like Disers to stop by if they get a second to help them out with something. This was suggested by Kimberley (Buckeye Gal) and is a way for people to remember the trip. Some previous uses were:
Signing personalised scrapbook pages for people
Marking maps for children so they can use them either in a school project or for scrapbooking

I will be running three jewellery making workshops during the cruise.
Workshop 1: September 19th 3 to 4 PM
Workshop 2: September 21st 2 to 3 PM
Workshop 3: September 21st 3 to 4PM
Timings are subject to change due to potential clashes with the tastings and location will be advised later.
List of participants:
http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q51/dolphingirl_album/DISBoards/JewelleryMaster.jpg
We will be working on three projects in each workshop:
For the necklace, we are going to use Swarovski crystals in various different shapes and sizes. For the Villain theme, we are going to use purple and black crystals, for the ship theme black, white, red and yellow crystals and for the Champagne girl theme pink crystals.
For the cell phone charm, there are two options. The Champagne Girl version will have a silver Tinkerbell charm dangling from the end and will have pink crystals. The Pirate version will have silver skull beads at either end with black, white, red and yellow crystals in the middle.
For the bag charm, there will only be one version. This will have lime green Mickey beads at either end with metal beads spelling out DIS in the middle.
If you have not stated your preferences either on the thread or by sending me a PM, can you please do so.
The cost per person will be GBP15 and payment has been received for most people. Thanks for your prompt payment.
If I do not have your address, preferences or payment yet, could you please let me have those as soon as possible. I am hoping to send the materials out by the end of next week providing that the last items arrive by then.
I will update the spreadsheet on here periodically. You can find the most up to date spreadsheet with some additional information here:
https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0Aq5ebcCJmFomdDdFb1hnTk5VbnlRdTRpVC0wNHNnW lE&hl=en&authkey=CNeo7LsG
Last but not least, if you have a preference for a specific workshop slot or you want to be in the same workshop as your friends, can you please let me know as soon as possible.

CANDY SWAP NOW CLOSED
How the candy/chocolate swap works
Each player (or stateroom in some cases) will bring 1 small snack/treat sized candy/chocolate bar for each other member of their designated group.
For example, I am playing in 3 groups (2,3&4) so I need to bring 30 candy bars - 10 for each of the 3 groups I am in.

Every DIS'er (and their traveling party) will be getting a Lime Green, Glow in the dark Wristband as a gift.
What do you need to do to get yours?
Send me a PM! (if you cannot send a PM email me at akblair@charter.net)
and put in the following information:
DIS name, cabin number (please update when known for GTY) and the size you need for each cruiser - sizes are guarenteed through August 6 - we will be ordering extras in all sizes and will be first come first serve after August 6 - but please fill in your sizes even if after August 6!
The sizes are:
LARGE - 8 3/8" MEDIUM - 7 3/8" SMALL- 5 7/8"
these are in inches - and I do not know how to convert for non-USA people.
Here is the size info from the maker:
Wristbands come in three sizes: large, medium, and child. The large bands are 8 3/8" around and will fit most adults and large-framed teenagers. The medium bands are 7 3/8" around and generally fits ages six and up, including most teenagers and small-framed women. The child bands are 5 7/8" around and typically fit children 4-6 years old. Wristbands are not intended for children younger than four years old.

Champagne girls party
Hi everyone! I sent an email to DCL special events about the Champagne Girls party. Right now, the date and venue are undecided. I asked for a sea day, because I know most of us will be going ashore on port days. Looks like the event schedule is pretty full. Below is Dorothy's response, my answer, and Dorothy's second response. Please read them and send me your creative ideas! Connie
From Dorothy Ednie
Hello Connie,
I remember the pink ladies. Deb sent me a picture with everyone decked out in pink and pink boas.
I will be glad to look for a venue that you can have a wine tasting. It may be an issue though on a sea day. They have so much going on on the ship that the venues are impossible to come by on sea days. How about at 4pm one afternoon other than a sea day? It will be a couple of weeks before I can get back to you. I have to wait for the ship to make its schedule for that sailing.
For wine brought onboard there will be a $15 corking fee to open the bottle.
I can make the arrangements for the photographer if you would like. The $85 fee will need to be prepaid and all photos would be paid for on the ship.
I will contact you in a couple of weeks.
Take care, CTC Dorothy Ednie
from Me:Thank you for responding so quickly. We really need to do the Champagne Girls party on a sea day. If Diversions or Sessions is not available, what about the Promenade lounge?
Please see what you can find for me. I'll go with whatever you can do.
Sincerely, Connie Quick
from: Dorothy Ednie I will ask for what you want…I just wanted you to be aware that it may be a challenge. I’ll let you know. Dorothy Ednie

We had a great visit at the eye clinic. We were there for almost 3 hours though! The surgery is scheduled, the pre-op is done, rx faxed to WalMart pharmacy. Surgery is scheduled for Aug 30. The doc said he would only need 1 week before he could fly. :yay: We fly out on Sept 13, so it will be 2 weeks. Hoping all goes well. Everyone there built our confidence. We were handed off gently from one person to the next to get everything done efficiently. I am singing praises for Rocky Mountain Eye Clinic! :goodvibes
Funny thing though, when the pre-op nurse took his BP it was 198/115. She insisted the machine must be wrong and she would retake at the end by hand/ear. We calmly told her nope, that's probably right, it does spike even higher than that sometimes. Something he has struggled with since he was 24 years old. :headache: He spent some time breathing, relaxing and it was 173/108 when she re-took it. We will load him up on garlic for several days before surgery to keep it down.:thumbsup2

Good news on the surgery!! He will be right as rain before you have to fly away!!
His BP is really high!! Doesn't Dennis take BP medication? I have never heard garlic lowers your BP. Since mine is so low, maybe I better stop eating garlic!!
I usually have the opposite problem. My BP is very low, usually about 98/60. I was told I can not donate blood as my BP is too low for their standards.

It is high, he is on 4 meds. He and his doc finally got it to 138/85 for a bit and we were thrilled. He was taking garlic tabs at the time (yes they work, no it won't cause it to be too low), but he has not taken the garlic for a couple of weeks. He takes so many supplements (VitD3, magnesium, turmeric, zinc, etc, etc) that the garlic has gotten lost in the shuffle lately. Definately will get him back on that though. One day it was really high (over 200) and he just ate a clove of garlic  and it dropped 30 points in just a few minutes.
I too have low BP, usually 100/60 something. My doc once told me I would live forever but would not have the energy to enjoy it! :confused3:sad2: I tried to donate blood once, they stopped after less than half a unit because I was becoming "shocky". Maybe we should use the medievel technique of bleeding on Dennis. :rolleyes1

I am not exactly a skinnie Minnie either. My primary care Doctor never comments one way or the other. She is so much younger than me that I figure she is just being polite. I don't have low iron but she says I am in low vitamin D and I take calcium for my bones. I spend plenty of time in the sun so go figure!!
Everything else I have is normal. I think we three must just have good genes!!!

Great news on the surgery!!! I'm sure he's excited to see where he's going!:lmao:
I'll have to remember the garlic. I'm normally on the high/normal side but every time I have to go to the nurse at work, my pressure goes up. I think it's a mental thing and I stress whenever I know I have to go down for my physical. I even went to a doctor about three hours later and mentioned to him that they thought my pressure was high and he looked at me like I was nuts. Said nothing unusual and I might just want to get off my butt and move a bit!! :rotfl2:

Noel and Angie, I am the same, low BP, the doc always re-tests because a chubby chick like me shouldn't have low BP in her eyes. I also have low blood sugar and low iron, and good cholesterol level, she never believe my test results.
Pj
My cholesterol is just this year a bit above where they want it....which is way lower than what was normal "in my day", so I am not going to worry about it. I have too much fun to be had to worry about it at this point. :woohoo:
I am not exactly a skinnie Minnie either. My primary care Doctor never comments one way or the other. She is so much younger than me that I figure she is just being polite. I don't have low iron but she says I am in low vitamin D and I take calcium for my bones. I spend plenty of time in the sun so go figure!!
Everything else I have is normal. I think we three must just have good genes!!!
Do you use sunscreen? If so, you are blocking the VitD as well. "They" are finding that most of us are deficient in VitD. And yes, much of it is those good genes my Mom gave me! :thumbsup2

I am sorry - I feel like I have overstepped things - I just saw people asking about stats and things and did not realize how easy Sue and her hubby had them to get at. I used the website to make my list for wristbands so I could put them in ABC order by DIS name so I could find people more easily - and just added the other fields out there too to capture info.
The bracelets will be done this weekend and I will take down my spreadsheet as I had no intention of confusing people with other places to put information in. I did not mean any harm - again sorry.
I will finish up contacting on the bracelets through PM's and get answers back directly.
again I am really sorry.

I don't get dizzy but when I was pregnant and went to Lake Tahoe which is at about 4600 ft (1402.08 meters), I started to black out. I was told to drink lots of water and take it easy. Later after resting and drinking lots of water, I was fine. It was a very weird experience almost passing out!!

I too can get low blood pressure. But once I added on 10 pounds now it seems to be normal. But when my blood pressure drops I get nausea and feel like I want to faint. Though I have never fainted in my life. I have to lay down flat till I feel better.

I don't because it is "normal" for me. Although, like Noel, I did faint when I was pregnant with my first....in the bank, in a dress that poor Dennis kept trying to pull down as I slid down his leg.:lmao::lmao: I was very embarassed when I opened my eyes to find many people looking down at me. :upsidedow

Noel, I take a VitD3 supplement since we block out the sun and when I am just going to be out for a little while (like a half hour) I do not use the sunscreen.

I too have the same issue. My company made anyone with two risk factors have a health coach or your ins premium went up. Clearly I am obese. A risk factor..right? Well I have a bp of 90/60 and cholesteral of 123. Not supposed to be that way. I do not smole either. I guess they think fat chicks eat fatty foods. Needless to say I did not have a health coach. My co-worker did becasue she smoked and had high cholestral. Now she has gained 40 pounds, but she quit smoling. Great health coach.:confused3

OK - that task is done! I have now sent a PM to everyone who I do not have sizes for yet! I am going to start guessing on sizes soon so I can get the order - once the website is back up I will use that to see how old the kids are and if there is a picture I can guess from that.
Beyond that I guess it would be better to order the most of extras as large??

I also do not enjoy a high collar t-shirt. I grabbed the Cruise logo from the group website, there are great hi hi res files there. I cropped the flags out of the t-shirt back design.
The MMC graphic was provided by Monica, and it turned out really great. I did all the graphics on dark t-shirt transfer materials and my name for the back of the MMC shirt on light t-shirt transfer materials (required me to flip the text before printing.)

Why dark t shirt transfer for MMC. I am going to make my own too and just wanted to know.
The dark transfer material is opaque white and it produces a might clearer, brighter result. I have found the light transfer material to produce washed out graphics and I wanted a richer effect. You print normally and peel off a backing and use a provided tissue to protect your design while ironing.
For the plain black print of the name on the MMC shirt the quality of the light transfer material worked great.

Good luck! Im glad they've said it will be OK!

I hope all goes well. I'm more than sure it will!!!!! Dennis will then have to wink properly at you!!!;)
That is a high BP. I struggle at border line where they like it to be with 2 meds. I might just try the garlic. Higher cholesterol is also a problem for me, but I am doing everything I should and it still goes up!! No statins as yet - they are debatable for pancreatitis sufferers, so we will see about them.
:rolleyes1

Oh does anyone know whether there's anyway to get a Disney World reservation back from Dreams Unlimited? I ask because my TA seems to be ignoring me! I've emailed about 3 times now asking for info on whether Magical Express is booked correctly and have had no information back. The only thing I got was an initial email that says that we are being picked up and sent to Pop Century on the 8th October which is the wrong way!
I sent a pm and asked the MOD to post a link to this one, she said sure, just send her the link.....uh, I'm an old lady from the typewriter era, I do not know how to post a link to send to her. :confused3:sad2:
I tried to post it but she said she couldn't see the post-it note I stuck on my computer:surfweb::lmao:. Bring back the age of the typewriter.

:goodvibes
Good news, hope all goes well for the surgery:hug:

I usually have the opposite problem. My BP is very low, usually about 98/60. I was told I can not donate blood as my BP is too low for their standards.
I had the same problem but now I carry a note from my doctor that the low blood pressure is normal for me and they go ahead and let me donate.

No, it is not sad. I've had my clothing spreadsheet completed for some time now. It helped me to be able to mix and match which then allows me to bring less clothes. I always want to bring things that can be worn more than once. The spreadsheet lets you see that right away. I've deleted about one third of the clothes I was thinking about bringing.

Not at all. I make spreadsheets as well. The main one I use is a calendar type one I set up that has all our information for the trip, day by day, starting and ending with all the flight information. It has all flight and hotel info with confirmation numbers and phone numbers if I should need them. It goes in the travel folder in my backpack and is easily accessable if needed, and I have needed it in the past.

Noel and Angie, I am the same, low BP, the doc always re-tests because a chubby chick like me shouldn't have low BP in her eyes. I also have low blood sugar and low iron, and good cholesterol level, she never believe my test results.
Pj
Im in the same boat... Run low BP and for some reason people are shocked by that...
Krisann
No need to apologize!! No worries!! Be happy!! I can not imagine anyone is upset with you!!
ABSOLUTELY no need to appologise!! We are all just so excited about everything!!!
CRUISE SHIRT UPDATE
Okay this is what I have left over ....
"Drinks" shirt Captain Jack on back with rum bottle
Okay this is how it will work ....This is First come First serve .... PM me what you want from the list above , I will then send you back a PM with total and PayPal information ...then please take care of Pay Pal as soon as you get .... If I dont reply to you , that means one or all the shirts your requesting has been sold ......Fear not...once these are gone and we have enough to make a second run , I will do that ......
*** If you are international we will have to figure something out on the shipping***
I have Very Very limited room in my bags ...
We should probably clear these out fast .......If so we will start a new ordering on Sunday Night and take orders till the following Saturday night ...
Hope everybody understands ... Good Luck ...PMs are time stamped , so they will be dealt with in the order they come in ....
TAKE WHAT YOU CAN !!!!!!
pirate:
If there are not too many more going over seas, I can take them. Todd - if you want to hold my box a bit longer just to see what pans out, that works on this end!
I get more of the nausea then dizzy, I have had spots in front of my eyes at times.
Pj
Pj - are we twins? I get nausea as well - and once that hits there is the getting dizzy and spots. I was at football jamboree a couple years back and was running around like crazy and paired my low BP with lack of eating and fluids... Not a good day at all!
Does anyone know the correct address to send photos for the web site?
Photos@transatlanticpirates.com
We are working on adding stuff to the website this weekend and will add any photos we get! Bring 'em on!!
Sue - I basically need:
Dis name, Stateroom numbers, Names of those travelling and the age of any children if possible, If they are travelling with anyone
I was also going to add which Fish Extender exchange groups they were in and candy exchange groups but I can always leave this off.
Yes - we can get you all of this!!! I am guessing that you will want in excel so you can manipulate
Don't worry Krisann I think it was me that did that not you!

OK, Sarah - Im going to side with you here... Not about EBay though... :lmao: I have packing lists in excel for everyone. 4 tabs - one for each, and then a list of anything other than clothes that goes in a bag on tab 5. I put what I think we are bringing in it prior to packing, and then add subtract items as needed. Then I print the pages and use them to re pack at the end of the trip so I don't leave stuff behind. Learned the hard way last year - accidentally left stuff in the cabin or at the last breakfast and we never got it back, as it was never found...
As of now, I have Beccas stuff 95% packed and the list is updated. I have what I think I am bringing, and have packed about 50%. Glenn and Stephen are not started - but only because I lef thtem tell me what they are bringing for the most part... For the extra stuff, I have all my swap stuff packed completely so I can finish it up when we get to the ship. (Candy included!) And anything that I don't need in the next 44 days is in a bag!

Brilliant thanks Sue! I'm gonna pull the full version of the navigator together around the 18th of Aug so if I could get that around then it would be great.
Updates after that can then be done via PM cause I think from then on most people will have room numbers. I heard the med people were getting cruise documents at a month out so I think we will all have rooms by then!

The family will be decked out Pirate Night in PC (Rotation 1) and for the deck party!! Although, we will not be wearing anything like what was posted on the main board yesterday!

Oh dear! My excitement is at the same fevered pitch as the rest of you! So excited.
My livingroom still has the vomited (figuratively) contents of my daughter's room. We're still looking at every single thing. We should be done this weekend. With my house is chaos I just don't feel like packing for our trip. Someone please send a cleaning fairy to help me!
I'm going to have coffee then tucking into the house. I'm certain there is not enough coffee in all of Cove Cafe to sustain me adequately through the job today. Wish me luck. You'll see me here for frequent sanity breaks.

All this excitement has me panicking :scared1:
I have to get through August first:
--Leaving Friday for 5 days in Tortola; renting a gorgeous house in the west end hills overlooking Smuggler's Cove and Long Bay. :beach: Can't wait! Hey, IF ANYONE HAS ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT TORTOLA, I'LL BE HAPPY TO ANSWER OR DO MY BEST TO FIND OUT WHEN WE"RE THERE NEXT WEEK (better to PM, I'm skimming FAST)...
--After Tortola, we have friends from the UK (Fareham) visiting us for a few days on their way to NYC from WDW. Gotta start cleaning as soon as the beach laundry is done... :laundy:
--Then a quick four day trip to see my sister and her family in Denver for my great-nephew's 7th birthday. :bday:
--That leaves one week to pack my son's stuff back up before we leave Labor Day weekend to take him back to college in Massachusetts :teacher: and pray for a cool day to unload all that stuff...
That puts us back back home in Virginia on September 8th and we leave for Barcelona on the 15th. HELP!!!!
Oh well, what's life without a little excitement! REALLY looking forward to those days at sea! :cool1:
Thanks for letting me rant about the craziness here--now you know why I don't post much.

I gained 70 lbs when I quit smoking (over 8 years), have yet to lose most of it. Glad not to be smoking though!:thumbsup2

My understanding is that once you give a ressie to a TA that is that!! Why not send a PM message to WebmasterJohn on this board about your problems with DU? He seems to be quite helpful.
Just my thoughts...

Rene
I am doing the same thing!! GMTA!! I even have which suitcase they are packed in on my spreadsheet!!
Worse, I also take pics of the clothes for insurance purposes so if the suitcase full of clothing is lost, I have a record. Suitcase replacement is expensive not to mention the cost of the clothes!!

Can I have some advice?
I got a quote of 100euros all inclusive for a taxivan to pick up 7 of us from our hotel Praktik Ramblas, and all our luggage, to take us to the port. Is that expensive? I know the conversion to dollars, and it seems expensive, but is it expensive for Barcelona? What would a regular taxi cost (and I think we'd need 2-3 for all of us and our stuff).
Thanks!

Not sure what is normal for Barcelona, however, it sounds reasonable to me based on what we are paying to go from airport to hotel (alsoPraktik Rambles). I made the arrangements with max allowable luggage (and hope to come up short...) - so 4 people, 8 cases, 2 backpacks. 50 Euro all inclusive, prvate transportation, and they meet us in the arrival hall with a sign with my name on it! (Just adds to the excitement :thumbsup2)
Your other option is to get sith Stephen (Nacho 1337) and see if there is room on the bus that morning! I am not sure if he has made the arrangements or not as yet. :confused3

Im in the same boat... Run low BP and for some reason people are shocked by that...
Same here as people think you have to be Skinny Minnie to have low BP.
ABSOLUTELY no need to appologise!! We are all just so excited about everything!!!
Well said, Sue!!
Pj - are we twins? I get nausea as well - and once that hits there is the getting dizzy and spots. I was at football jamboree a couple years back and was running around like crazy and paired my low BP with lack of eating and fluids... Not a good day at all!
Triplets!! Add to that all of us in my family with low BP get EXTREMELY grumpy when we are hungry!!
Yes - we can get you all of this!!! I am guessing that you will want in excel so you can manipulate
STOP!!! I'd like to think that it was a misunderstanding, as not many people would build a database for their cruise website! :) What can I say, we both work for software companies, and Glenn is a bit geeky at times. He wanted to do a lot more - but never got direction. Now he has some... Watchout!!!
We are going to get on like a house afire. John built an interactive auction database for our DD's school with Access. He is a geek extraordinaire and I am not far behind. He is much more technical than I am, sigh.... John is one of the original Evangelists of the tech world here in Silicon Valley. My most memorable quote for him was when this young man said to him, " Meet you is like meeting Moses!!"
Shoot - your list looks like mine... And I find that I have days that I stare at it and get nothing done...
Being on the DIS boards, is my job!!
For the DU stuff - post on the main board - their owner watches it and will make sure that you are taken care of. Who are you dealing with there? I had been working with Tracey, who was fine, but didn't get back to me same day. Then when we did our upgrade it was Kelsie that I was working with. She is awesome - and I swear she must not sleep much if you look at the times she emails...
I think you make excellent points!!
Excel, the ONLY way to travel!!
As of now, I have Beccas stuff 95% packed and the list is updated. I have what I think I am bringing, and have packed about 50%. Glenn and Stephen are not started - but only because I left them to tell me what they are bringing for the most part... For the extra stuff, I have all my swap stuff packed completely so I can finish it up when we get to the ship. (Candy included!) And anything that I don't need in the next 44 days is in a bag!
Pre packing is the only way to get organized with all the activities on this cruise.

My understanding is that once you give a ressie to a TA that is that!! Why not send a PM message to WebmasterJohn on this board about your problems with DU? He seems to be quite helpful.
Just my thoughts...
http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r65/birkner_album/Disney%20Cruise%20Line/girlcoffee.gif
I think you need to find a new TA. My sister is a travel agent, not on commission, and believe me she takes care of her people. Sh knows they have the option of booking on-line or direct with the provider and has to provide somthing you can't get otherwise. She checks every morning, including the weekends, that all her departures take off ok. If there are delays she contacts the customer and takes care of them and lets them know she is looking out for them. If necessary she reschedules flights or helps with hotels room. She completes all of our on-line check-in documents, prints them and sends them. Every other cruiseline have reps who work with the travel agents and she has contacts with them to call when she really needs something. Disney apparently has only a few people to work with TAs and are hard to get a hold of. She says Disney is difficult, TA's hate their websites and in a very pleasant manner, they give little help or info when she calls. She says it is like pulling hen's teeth to get anything out of them.
She and I were told they wouldn't be assigned our cabins to GTYs until 2 weeks before departure. I hope those of you in the know are right when you bet it will be sooner. This is driving me nuts. Only good thing is I've put my reservation number into their search so many times I've memorized it.

:confused3
Could you give me the name or web address of the company you have booked the taxi from the airport to Parktik Rambles with? Did you pre-pay by PayPal or do they accept credit cards? (I'm trying to limit the amount of Euros I have to bring)
Thanks so much.

Hi all.
We've just joined this thread, because we didn't know it existed until today. Well, just wanted to introduce ourselves, as we'll be on the cruise with you. It's our first cruise, and we really don't know anything about the Disney ships or taking a cruise, other than what we've read on the internet and learned from our friends, who are taking their fourth cruise.
"We" are my husband, Tom age 47, and myself, Rikke age 39.
Tom is German, I'm Danish, we're living in Nuremberg, Germany, but spending approx. two weeks per month in our house in Denmark.
Tom and I are both self-employed with our own companies. Tom is a composer and producer, I am strategic marketing consultant. Just this month we're starting a new joint project, Sportunes, which is a webshop for training music. We look forward to sharing not only our private lives, but also our professional lives with each other.
Both Tom and I have spent a year in the States - ages ago as we were still young:flower3:
We both have limited Disney experience, and absolutely no cruise experience, so we're looking forward to what is expecting us. Fortunately we are travelling with our friends from Germany, so we have some experienced advisors with us. We look forward to also making new friends on the cruise, and we're sure that it will be a trip we'll never forget.
Look forward to meeting you in 7 weeks.

For those who may still be interested in the PacSafe totes and backpacks, Overstock.com has a few of them on sale, up to 67% off and another 10% off this weekend. That plus the fact their shipping charge is only $2.95 make them a good deal. We also found their carmera memory cards at a good price. I have gotten a number of things from them and never had a problem with the purchase nor the return.

Thanks!
We are being quoted 40 Euros for two of us to go from the Marriott Renaissance at the airport to the Le Meridien so I personally think it is a good deal for 7.
May I ask who you are getting your quote from?

Andrea
Hi Andrea .... wow are you going to be busy. You won't have time to get stressed out. Hope you have a great time in Tortola! By the way, if you get time could you find out if the Pussers Rum place is walkable from where the ships dock. Thank you.
And I almost cried at your almost crying at her almost crying!
awwwwww bless you all for crying along with me :sad1:
I am doing the same thing!! GMTA!! I even have which suitcase they are packed in on my spreadsheet!!
Worse, I also take pics of the clothes for insurance purposes so if the suitcase full of clothing is lost, I have a record. Suitcase replacement is expensive not to mention the cost of the clothes!!
I am very impressed. May well have to do this too. I could colour code the clothing depending on which suitcase they go into. :yay:

Welcome aboard Rikke and Tom!! We are Noel and John Birkner from Woodside, California in the USA. This is our 4th DCL cruise but have cruised many times on other cruise lines.
My husband's family is originally from Erlangen near Nuremberg. I am not sure how much family he has left there as contact with the family there was not kept up after 1940. His great-grandfather was a professor of music at the University of Nuremberg which I believe is now called University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. The church his other great-grandfather was the minister of is also in Erlangen. Small world!!
Be sure you read page one (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2495551) for all the exciting things that are happening on this cruise. Here is a partial list.
1. PM DisneyVegas1 to see if there are any cruise shirts left.
2. PM Buckeye Gal with your hotel and flight information.
3. Decide if you want Mickey Mouse shirts and order, see post #1 (http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=37140148&postcount=1)
4. If you want to link your dining ressies, PM Mrs. Mork if you are early or PM Totally Angelic if you are late.
5. Sign up on the roll call and send your pictures to the Transatlantic Pirates (www.transatlanticpirates.com)website.
6. PM Connie (Con5421) if you would like to purchase a lanyard pin.
7. Let mdwoodman know (post #8 (http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=37141668&postcount=8))if you can join the HRC pre cruise meet on 17 September @ 1700.
8. Let birkner know (post #9 (http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=37141996&postcount=9)) if you want to join fellow DISers on a private tour of Madeira.
9. Go to: http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?k...thkey=CJmPqOcK
and put your DIS name at the bottom of the list - then put in the sizes you need for your wristbands (they are a gift) and fill in any other information you would like to share!
10. If you want to be in the FE please email akblair@charter.net with your family info.
Hope that gives you a good place to start. Any more questions, ask away

In the world of customer service....tell them two weeks prior and if you get it done four weeks (2 weeks early) they are thrilled. Tell them four weeks prior and if it is 3 weeks and 6 days they are unhappy.
I think they will be assigned far before 2 weeks out. We have been GTY many times and DCL has always assigned us a room ;) and done it before we got our documents which is usually about 4 weeks before we sail. :thumbsup2

thats sounding like a great day out!
Thanks!
I think they have mini vans parked outside for hire as well so you dont need 2 taxis.
:confused3
The excitement is whether they will be there or not:lmao:,sorry, only joking, Im a horrible person.
Rikke.

We are being quoted 40 Euros for two of us to go from the Marriott Renaissance at the airport to the Le Meridien so I personally think it is a good deal for 7.
May I ask who you are getting your quote from?
Just my thoughts...
http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r65/birkner_album/Disney%20Cruise%20Line/suitcaselady.gif
We just got a second quote from Barcelona Day Tours (we're using them for our airport to hotel 4 hour tour our first day) and they came in at only 79 euros which is the way we will go. They require prepayment by credit card (they only charged a deposit for the tour). Great deal methinks.

For anyone planning to visit Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, I understand that the Pope is supposed to consecrate it on 7 Nov. As a result, there is a flurry of activity trying to move construction along (as if they can do in two months what hasn't been accomplished in 100 years!!!) and many parts, inside and outside, are blocked by construction fences, etc.

However, she has been dog sitting all week and won't be back on line until around 7 pm tonight. Actually, you're not required to wear a vest. The boat is required to have enough for everyone on board and they have to tell you exactly where they are kept before leaving port. I think kids under a certain age might be required to wear them (fortunately, it's based on chronological age and not cruise-induced apparent age!!!). :dance3:

For anyone planning to visit Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, I understand that the Pope is supposed to consecrate it on 7 Nov. As a result, there is a flurry of activity trying to move construction along (as if they can do in two months what hasn't been accomplished in 100 years!!!) and many parts, inside and outside, are blocked by construction fences, etc.
That's a shame.
Thanks for the heads up. Do you think that means that we will not get see very much? Sure sounds like it to me. DH and I are going to be disappointed....
Me too.
I couldn't leave them back on part 7 now could I?
PHOOEY! This is the one thing that I really wanted to see.
Yes, the Sagrada Familia is a highlight.
Don't leave those Spanx anywhere please!!
I think we'll still be able to see a lot; there just may be construction fences, scaffolding, etc. in the view - more than usual!
Sounds more promising!
We must NEVER forget the Spanx!!!! Especially after 13 nights of cruise dining - I might have to double up and wear 2 pairs at a time... :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:
After 13 nights of dining you might not even be able to get into one pair!;)
I asked Len yesterday
"What are you looking forwrd to the most when you get on the ship?"
he said...........................
wait for it....
the buffet:rolleyes:
Im looking forwrd to meeting old and new friends.
Anyway, my question because last time we boarded the line was huge and slow for the buffet, when does room service open?
You need a room to order room service me thinks!!!;)

Are you going to wear them all at the same time?:lmao:
Shirt, lanyard, pin and wristband can all be worn at the same time, right? Unfortunately the shirts aren't pink so can't wear them with the boa and tiara.
OK....in case anyone needs a fix of their 'Magic' today.....here are some pictures from our day at Dover yesterday waving her off as she heads back to the Med ready for US!!!!!!:dance3::dance3:

Awww. I can see the window we had on our last cruise (7514, the last porthole on deck 7 before the verandahs start (except that was on the Wonder, to be honest)), the Roy Disney suite we had in 2008, and the 7620 secret verandah room we booked on our 1st cruise for one set of our parents (the other ones were in the other SV room on the other side of the ship.) I guess we've spent quality time on the starboard side of the ships!)
[COLOR="Blue"]My understanding is that once you give a ressie to a TA that is that!! Why not send a PM message to WebmasterJohn on this board about your problems with DU? He seems to be quite helpful.
WebmasterJohn has posted several times asking that people send him emails and not PMs since he doesn't get them as quickly as he gets the emails. His email address is posted in various places, most recently in the thread about not getting the $50 Visa OBC.
Kathy seems to be the one dealing with me. Didn't think of posting over there! Will do that now!
I've had very good service from DU, but I don't go very long without a response before I escalate if it's important. Tracy and Kelsie have been consistently good for me, and Tammy as well generally. You can always email the cruise concierge team with a question (I generally copy my preferred TA as well) and someone should get back to you. There is also a phone number you can call, but if you're calling from the UK I doubt it will do you any good since I think it's a 1-800 number.
I think we'll still be able to see a lot; there just may be construction fences, scaffolding, etc. in the view - more than usual!
This would be par for course for my foreign travels. I think I have pictures of the Parthenon, Notre Dame, a church in Toledo, Spain, and other major landmarks all with scaffolding on them. Man, I thought we were slow at building things!!
Actually, you're not required to wear a vest. The boat is required to have enough for everyone on board and they have to tell you exactly where they are kept before leaving port. I think kids under a certain age might be required to wear them (fortunately, it's based on chronological age and not cruise-induced apparent age!!!). :dance3:
I may be coming in mid-coversation, but are you talking about snorkling vests or life vests? I know on Castaway Cay, they make everyone in the snorkling lagoon wear a snorkling vest (even if you brought your own snorkling equipment.) I've seen many a person yelled at by the lifeguards for not having a snorkling vest on. If you're talking about a snorkling excursion, then I have no comment.

Wow, what a warm welcome.
Thanks for your greetings, all of you.
Our fellow German cruisers are also here - the Pankotsch family (FrauP) travelling with their baby son. I think they have ordered lanyards and wristnads for us.
I'll be sure to take your advice, and read the first pages of this thread thoroughly.
Thanks again
Rikke
I'm sure FrauP has headed you in the right direction.
Do they give you rum on the catamaran  I will fall over the side :rotfl2:
Does that mean we are 10 days away from ours .... on 10th August keep an eye out for Mr Fed Ex :yay::dance3::yay::yay:
Oh yes!! A little rum punch. :woohoo:
Okay everyone. This is my problem. I know it's short notice and the other day I wrote a post saying that my DD and I will be joining you. However, she has been dog sitting all week and won't be back on line until around 7 pm tonight. I just realized that with the way this thread is going, there is no way that Lindsay will even see my post telling her that we are going and again spending our birthdays on the cruise. :confused3 If you don't mind, can we have some fun. Would whoever reading this, mind sending her a AOL message to: lilgchottie926@aol.com either welcoming her; see you soon; Mickey misses you; etc etc to give her clues that we/she is going on this awesome cruise. I know the first thing that she will do is check her AOL email.:surfweb: Even if she goes on this thread she'll never see my telling her "Happy Birthday" we're going. This will drive her crazy seeing email from old friends and new ones and have no idea. :rotfl2: I know we will all have an awesome time. Thanks for making it even more fun and exciting for her. :thumbsup2
Bev:woohoo:
done!! :goodvibes
Thanks, but I think I never made myself clear, its the yellow ones you put on for snorkling, not like a life vest /jacket type thing. I hope I dont have to wear one, I hope you got me, I love being unrestricted in the water, last time at cc we had to wear them.
I think CC you have to wear them, but not with the excursions.

I am doing the same thing!! GMTA!! I even have which suitcase they are packed in on my spreadsheet!!
Worse, I also take pics of the clothes for insurance purposes so if the suitcase full of clothing is lost, I have a record. Suitcase replacement is expensive not to mention the cost of the clothes!!
lol I am so in awe of you well organised people......:worship:
Hope everyone is well? Under 50 days now

Both Tom and I have spent a year in the States - ages ago as we were still young
Rikke.
Hello & welcome aboard!
We are Mandy & Mark from the UK, cruising with DCL for the 5th time...and we can't wait!:yay: Look forward to seeing you onboard.:)

ATTENTION ALL DANIEL TAXI MADEIRA TOUR MEMBERS
I have heard from almost everyone that is now on the tour so a van assignment should be posted soon.
If you haven't either emailed or PM'd that you are still going, please do so ASAP.
If you have decided that you might want to take this tour with us, please PM ASAP as well.
What I am thinking is that the cutoff date for joining this tour will be September 7, 2010. I am going to send a preliminary van assignment list within a few days to Eusébia at Daniel Taxi for those who have joined so we have guaranteed vans.
One of our fellow tour members requested a copy of the menu for the restaurant where we will have our lunch in Porto Moniz. Eusébia has asked Daniel to get a copy. When Eusébia gets a copy, she will scan and email to me. Once I receive that scan, I will add it to the document I have on page one and let everyone know.
Anyone having any questions or concerns about the tour, please fee free to PM or email me.

Noel, again, a HUGE thanks for the tremendous undertaking you've managed for the Madeira Tour!
So only 7 weeks before we embark!! You know what that means? Only SIX weekends (or less for some) to be ready! The thread's gotta slow down for that, right? :rotfl:

Hello, Rikke!! I'm so glad you introduced yourselves here! Anyone who's a friend of Steffi, Oliver, and Simon is a friend of ours!
Don't hesitate to ask any questions! We've all be first-time cruisers at some point, so there's lots of experiences and lessons-learned that we all love to share!
....So do we just wear our Mickey Mouse Club shirts to dinner? Anything else? Connie
preferably pants and shoes as well ....:lmao::lmao::lmao:
:rotfl2: :rotfl2:
If you have any "Ears", bring those along, too! I believe that we're wanting to TRY to get everyone together for a group picture, too! Even if it's just those of us in our respective dining rooms or as a group of early/late diners, it really would be nice! Those of you who have been part of the Club before, how did you manage it?
We are doing the b2b, and our docs for the Med portion arrived today! Woo hoo!!

Have a Magical weekend!!!

I am in cruise planning mode!
A couple of questions - do we have an address for the Magic`s berth in Barcelona? Just somethng we can give the taxi driver.
Does anyone know how much the DCL transfers are from PC to a WDW resort?
Other cruise stuff. I never knew you got onboard discount for DVC points. I phoned up DVC to put dining requests on our reservation and I mentioned to MS that me and DD had just returned from the Baltic cruise. They credited us 44 points and as we needed a weekend stay in WDW they came in useful.
I thought I needed to buy travel insurance for DH, which is a long and expensive process. When I checked his annual policy it expires Oct. 7th, the day we fly home :goodvibes
Two new suitcases bought, a trusty old one died in Euston station.
Very well done to all who have organised things, they all sound great - I think I have a committment phobia as I have signed up for nothing. But please when you see me and DH about please stop and chat we are very sociable people!
Greetings to all new cruisers, this is going to be a great cruise :yay:
