When is the DVC reception on both the Eastern & Western cruises?

OK, I think there were two sessions for these; one at 10:30 am and the other right after it at 11:30 am, both on Sunday, at Offbeat (that's for the Eastern cruise). You are assigned to one of the two depending on your invite.

They have complimentary salsa, chips, and rum punches there, a short presentation about DVC, encouraging you to try the other collections, and a Disney/DVC trivia contest with prizes (coffee mugs, note pads, etc.)

when do you get the invite? it would be nice to have it before reserving palos brunch or the spa but i know that's asking too much as people do the ressie shuffle immediately upon entering the ship

Is the reception for current DVC members or potential DVC members? If it is for current how do I get invited?

We found the invite in our stateroom on embarkation day. I believe we had already made our ressies before we got to our rooms. Also, one of the invites (either DVC or Castaway Club, I can't remember which now) was actually clipped to our stateroom door after we returned from dinner the first night.

We won a DVC paper cube last year, hoping to get more prizes this year and I have 2 cruises to do it in!

I believe there is a separate gathering for people interested in learning about DVC.

I believe the DVC reception in only on the 7 day, unless they have changed it.

When is the reception on the western cruise?

We didn't book thru DVC. Do I have to add this info to my current reservation? or do they just MAGICally know you are a member?

and I did book using some points. Will I automatically be invited or do I have to sign up somewhere? Thanks!

DVC Reception??

We are also DVC members and are on a 4 day cruise in October. We paid Cash for our ressie's. Does anyone know if we need to relay to our TA that we are DVC members and our ID number.

Is there a reception on the 4 dayer?

Thanks, and on the count down trail

They should know you are DVC members whether you book with cash or not. They will automatically invite you to the reception.

I think the reception is only on the 7 day cruise. Someone, please correct me if I am wrong.

When is the Western reception?

The Western was on Sunday 10 am - 11 am and 11 am - 12 pm (2 sessions because of so many DVC'rs on DCL) it'll be listed in the Navigator. Your invitation will be delivered to your room. They know who is/isn't a DVC member already (I think it is Magic :) ); however mistakes happen. If you don't get an invitation by Saturday night and you are a DVC member, notify guest services. They didn't check for the invitations when we went, but who knows who'll be at the door when you go. They gave hats at the door, raffle prizes, drinks, snacks. Never been on a 3/4 day so don't know.

KennyK -

We are DVC members and there was no reception on the 8/4 4 day Wonder. We booked on points and cash so I would think they would have known we were members. I guess it is just a 7 day event.

Have fun !! Cindy

The DVC Reception is only held on the 7 day cruises. :)

We were unable to make the reception on our 7 day cruise due to something else going on that we wanted to see/do (can't remember what right now...). We did stop at the DVC desk a few days later just to see what the current point price was. The woman manning the desk asked if we were members and if we had made it to the reception. When we told her we hadn't she immediately took our names and cabin#s (we had 2 cabins reserved - one for the teens and one for us) and told us she'd have 4 baseball caps delivered to the rooms that evening. She then gave us a whole bunch of other stuff that was given out at the reception. Sure enough, the hats were in our rooms that night! Great giveaways so make sure you make it to one of the receptions!
