What is the latest you have ever booked?

I thought I would call MS tomorrow AM to see if there is any availability for any studio the week before Memorial Day, Mon - Thurs (5/21-5/24). Am I crazy or is it possible to actually get something? I really need a quick vacation!

I just called yesterday to make a reservation for my sister's honeymoon on 5/12 ~ 16. They seem to have some openings for WLV and OKW. Good luck!

I was able to add a day on Labor Day weekend 2 years ago calling just a day ahead!

I called 4/13 for 5/3-6. There were two studios left at OKW, and "a bunch" of one bedrooms, according to MS.

Nothing was available at BW or WLV.

DH suggested at lunch on Wednesday, March 14th that I take a vacation day that Friday, March 16th (my BDay). Once I agreed to it (around 2pm or so after rearranging my schedule), he called MS and we got a Pref View BWV Studio directly over the little store for Friday and Saturday nights.

Ressies with less than 48 hours to check in!! And over the Boardwalk as well!! I love this club!! :0)

(The practical ones in the group are probably asking, "Winston-Salem to Orlando for a weekend?" Hey, it's only a 9-hour drive.... What can I say, we're addicted!! he he!!)

Have gotten OKW ressies the day before we checked in on two different occasions. Once in August and Once in October. :)

Back in March I rented points before buying and got a VWL ressie within two weeks of our arrival!

ckr- that's the reason my dh's trying to relocate us to NC! 9 hour drive for a weekend? No problem..... it's the 16-20 hours that kills us...my dh's gotta take a whole week off of work to go.

And to keep this on topic...I could have reserved a 2br at OKW a few days in advance last September...but we were looking for a studio.

We did it! I called MS at 5:25pm today and was able to book 4 nts in a studio at OKW 5/14-5/19. We too will be driving, from Maryland. Without out a Saturday night stay it takes too many in frequent flyer points. We'll start driving on Mother's Day and arrive on Monday, take two days to go back also. I can't wait! This is a desperately needed vacation!

I totally understand the weekend logic, ckr. We are neighbors...I live in Lexington. I once left on a Friday evening at 6 pm, drove straight through, and checked into the hotel at 3 am. I simply left DH a note:"Honey, decided I needed a break, and your son has a project on Christmas in France due in 4 days. Epcot is closer than Paris, so I will see you late Sunday. I have all 4 kids with me." It was a wonderful trip...just too short! To stay on topic, I made the reservation for a similar trip in February by calling MS at 3 pm on a Friday, and checked in the next morning at 9 am. :D

I think I have a record - I called at 1:45 am outside the OKW and we were in our room by 2:15 am - with a welcome home!

Lesley: C'mon down!! I'm a transplant from Michigan (14 years ago! But I'm not that old!! Geez time files!) and I really like it. Here in the Triad, you can go 4 hours to the beach or 4 hours deep into the Smokies. But that 9 hours to the World is the clincher!! :0)

Every one of my 5 stays since I have joined has been from 1 week to 1 day before check-in (2 in MAY, 1 in January, 2 in April) -- I know ... Lucky, Lucky, LUCKY -- but while it's working might as well keep going -- Just booked the Grand Californian today for next week -- the 4 through the 8 of MAY -- Gotta LOVE DVC!!!!
