Points before closing

My DW I called Dave at DVC to add a new membership as VWL and had a wonderful suprise. The 200 points we added were available the next day to book a trip before we even closed. I was very suprised. I don't know if we could have used them right away but it was great knowing that we could at least book a trip. We close today and are using the points next week to go to VB. Does this happen often, or is it just a nice DVC salesperson helping us spend our money? :)

We close at VWL today too. The points availability is normal. You just can't bank or borrow on the contract until it closes. MS will however put a room on 'hold' until your closing if you need to bank or borrow to get that resservation, then you must call back within 48 hours of the closing to 'confirm' the resservation and get a ressie #. That is what we did to get our March 2002 ressie for VWL, in fact I have to call them this afternoon to bank and confirm.
