Off on Saturday
Now what am I supposed to wear on my feet?
Got some decent shorts, shirts, trainers
I never know what looks best
1. Nothing
2. White socks
3. Tiny socks that hide in your trainers
4. Any other suggestions
Any help for this Fashion luddite gratefully received

Socks should never be worn with shorts! If you have to go for the small trainer socks.

Forget fashion - wear whatever you find comfortable!

I agree with Hilary where whatever is comfortable your feet are your most imporatnt part of your body even more so at WDW.
I always wear socks with trainers whether they be the little ones that you don't see or white terry ones that I push down - I would strongly recommend that your feet go naked in trainers - blisters will be a coming especially in the heat.
No-one cares what you look like walking around the parks we're all in the same boat!

:p Hi Chris
Would strongly recommend those little trainer socks inside your trainers . . to put it bluntly they help to soak up the dampness your tootsies will make in the heat, therefore preventing a lot of soreness and even blisters.

Nothing worse than sore feet when you're going round those parks;)
I've got loads of different trainer socks, actually take a spare pair in my bag wth me each day to change into if needs be.
On non-park days and when we're down at the beach the sandals and flipflops get their airing - sunny feet then:smooth:
Personally, men wearing sandals and socks are a no-no:p And besides, if you wear longer socks, think of the white lines you'll get:p

Chris! Whatever you buy, get them quickly and wear them around the house!!! Brand new trainers/sandals may well cause blisters!
My other piece of advice is don't listen to Hilary!!!!!!!! SORRY HILARY :p JUST JOKING ;) !!!!!!!
If you have some trainers ( and I would suggest trainer liners too)
or sandals that fit like a glove, take them. Sandals and socks are a NO NO :o !!!
Don't forget to take some sunglasses!
Oh yes! Speedos aren't liked in USA - take some swim shorts!

Sandals and socks are a NO NO !!!
I bet you wouldn't say that if someone like Madonna suggested it
Don't forget, you heard it from me first - Sandals and socks are COOL :smooth:
Take no notice of Shirley, she's just jealous that she hasn't got the confidence to try it..... ;)
p.s. I haven't got the courage to suggest that Speedos might be the new trend! :earseek:
You absolutely must wear socks with your tennies. If not, you'll get the most awful blisters and your vacation will be ruined! It also doesn't hurt to carry an extra pair of socks and switch out midday; they will be soaked. DH and I always try and bring two pairs of tennis shoes (broken in) with us when we do WDW. The TEVA sandels are also really popular, and yes, I've even seen a few people wear socks with them. Although, generally speaking, socks with sandels normally screams "Brit"!

Thanks for such advice (even if you cant agree - makes me feel better)
Already have 2 pairs of trainers which are not new. (no sandals)
Think I,ll take some short white socks, and some of those discreet ones that hide away - last lot I bought shrunk and only now fit barbie
Also plan to buy some swim shoes in walmart for pool/water parks
Thanks again

Right you lot
I felt the urge to point out a few things here.....
Firstly, Bonzo I'm with you.....speedos are definitely very, very sexy , I wear them all the time. Socks I'm sorry to say are absolutely no, no. Hilary the fashion police should be knocking on your door very 'shortly' if you don't put a sock in it ;) . Finally I got to thinking......what about women....swimsuits or bikinis?
Regards
Dazzle:cool:

In my case Mr Dazzle it would have to be a swimsuit .
My bikini days are long gone I'm afraid - Mores the pity.
Would that be a swimsuit with or without socks though?
Carol
Hilary

swimsuits or bikinis
If you thought I looked awful in the SOCKS ..............
a bikini would really be a No No!!!!!! :teeth:

Chris you definately started something here - LOL
Hilary I have to say the socks don't look too bad especially as they go.
Had to post this link to Zurgs website v.funny, Hilary I think you may be in here;):
Badshoe.com (http://205.158.147.182/)
Finally Dazzle - I've found the perfect item for when you've outgrown the bikini but still not keen on the swimsuit - TANKINI - they're the best and they are actually more complimentary to my figure than a swimsuit.
Ofcourse the next question would be women................
Bikini or THONG :earseek: :earseek: :earseek: :earseek:
::Sam passes Dazzle a glass of water and a chair::
 Thanks for that Shirley.......what are you on???? LOL;)

If you have a body like Elle McWhatsherface or Naomi Cambellsoup (no, no jealousy on my part whatsoever) then a bikini. Being more like Kathy Burke personally it has to be a swimsuit:o
Here's another one for the fashion police: 'Football Shirts'. Who else out there has to put out with the man in their lives wearing those awful, awful, awful football shirts? And why are they so indestructible:mad:

Thanks, darling DH for using my name to air your views :p
Football shirts - ABSOLUTE NO NO NO NO. Agree 110% Annmarie - you can play the "spot the Brit abroad" game with them, can't you;)
I refuse point blank to let Dazzle take his - given up threaten divorce *** that doesn't work anymore, but I do promise to cut his Arsenal shirt into little pieces to use as car washing rags . . now that normally stops him:p :p :p
Sam - Tankini - sounds good to me; closest I'd ever get to letting the world see me in a bikini would be in me back garden, that way the world's safe:o
The Zurg control is brilliant - I discovered that a few days ago and now have a headstart on Darryl to get the most points on Buzz Lightyear:Pinkbounc I'm gonna beat him this time if it kills me....

ROFL - Mrs. Dazzle I didn't notice it was Mr. Dazzle using your name I just thought it odd that you wore Speedos but each to their own was my conclusion:rolleyes: Glad to hear you're with me on the footie shirts, however I have lost the battle, they always come along wherever we go.
Sam: just the word THONG brings tears to my eyes. Thong days are long gone :(
