at the VWL? We are packing for our trip, 3 more days!! :D My DD who is three loves to play in the sand and wade in the water. Is there an actual sandy beach that we can camp out for a few hours? Do they have chairs on the sand? Don't know if I should pack her pails and shovels. Thanks!!

Yes-Vero has a sandy beach! It is a narrow beach but there is both hard sand and some soft sand. Also it is a great place to collect shells! We love it there and are waiting to close on a resale at Vero to be another addition to our DVC! [BWV is our first home]

Thnx for response, I guess I didn't make myself clear, we are looking forward to Vero Beach in the future, but in 3 days we leave for the Villas at the Wilderness Lodge. Sorry for the confusion.

Yes, there is a sandy beach on the lake - no swimming though. When we were at the campground last summer they had lots of beach chairs available as well.

VWL uses the same beach that is available for use by the lodge. It was nice, quiet, and fun for DD to play in the sand.

The beach at VWL is great. My DS was 3 when we visited WL in September and he played in the sand with DD (age 6) for a long time. There is play equipment on the beach as well as chairs and umbrella's. The beach is small compared to the Poly and no swimming is allowed. But it has plenty of room for playing with shovels and pails.
Your daughter will love it!!!
It has been seven months since our last trip and DS still says, "Thank you for the beach" EVERYDAY when he prays!!! Guess we'll be pinching our pennies to get that Vero Beach add-on. :)

My son loved to play on the sand bar area at Storm-along Bay. Nice wading area, but still close enough for adult enjoyment as well.
