Any DVC members participating in the Marathon or 1/2 marathon on 1-6-2002?
I have registered for the 1/2 marathon and was wondering if anyone else has yet?
Maybe get a training support group going?
Hows about "TEAM DVC" !!
They are taking registrations now. If you call to register and give them your DVC member number you get a nice discount. Only works for if you call and have them mail you the registration form. There is registration on the official web site, but you couldn't get the DVC member discount registering online.

Where is the marathon site? I was just looking for it. I did it last year and it was great!! The crowds are a bit sparse, not like the big city marathons, however there's something to look forward to every 4-6 miles and it's exteremely well organized. I think entry was $40 for DVC. I would like to run it again next year pending my wife's approval. I remeber last year on the ONE small hill (not an interstate exit ramp or bridge) Cruella De'ville, w/ car and puppies, was yelling at the runners. She wasn't yelling encouraging words either!! "Is that all you got?" "You better go faster, you're hurting." I broke my stride, walked and started laughing. I looked up at the cast member (Cruella) and she started laughing. One of many Disney moments I'll cherish forever...
Please send me the link. Thanks

I did the full in 2000 and the 1/2 this year. Sadly, I will miss it in 2002 as we are doing a "surf-n-turf" later in January. I don't remember if they have a team division but it would be neat to have a DVC contingent. I would think there are a number of DVC marathoners out there.
P.S. The DVC discount is significant and worth calling in for.

I ran my first full this year. It was 32 degrees at the start. I used the Gallway method and took it nice and slow. I just got my card in the mail today confirming 2002.

Hello,
DH and I are doing the half again, already confirmed. We did it this year for the first time and loved it. It was very fun. DH planned on walking it so didn't train at all (except for running to the bus the night before). Then during it, he decided to run about half! Can't wait for next years! :)
