For those of you are going to be losing sleep tomorrow night making ressies, there is a lot of availabily currently so if your quick you should be able to get what you want. Here is a list of what is not available on the web site: all high tea ressie are taken. The only brunch time that is unavailable is 11am on Monday (at sea day). The only excusions unavailable are the Kew West Golf and the Nautilus Undersea Tour in Grand Cayman. Good luck to everyone getting what they want.

Thanks, I'll let DH know about the Key West golf. He wants to golf on this trip, so if that's unavailable, I guess we'll have to switch to golfing in another port.

Don't know if this is true, but supposedly they hold back a some availability for each booking level. I know that they hold back a certain percentage of Palo dinner ressies to be booked onboard, but I don't know if they hold back brunch & high tea ressies. This is why people who weren't able to book everything they wanted online, try to get to the port as early as possible to grab the onboard ressies.

DCL does hold back ressie for all palo sittings (brunch, high tea and dinner) so if you get to the port early and go straight to Rockin Bar D upon boarding, you will be able to get some ressies or move ressies. You may not get exactly what you want but you should get something. That it why it is best to book online if possible.

We have to wait until Aug 2 also as this is our first Disney cruise. My friends have already made some Palo reservations as their "window" opened on July 3rd (i think). The more you sail, the earlier you can book :upsidedow

Platinum status (11+ previous DCL cruises) cruisers and suites can make ressies 120 days before embarkation
Gold status (6-10 previous DCL cruises) cruisers can make ressies 105 days before embarkation
Silver status (1-5 previous DCL cruises) cruisers can make ressies 90 days before embarkation
First time DCL cruisers can make ressies 75 days before embarkation

Congratulations and welcome.

Heres something I learned last year. If the date your looking for in Palos isnt available, book what ever you can for now. When you get on the ship, run dont walk to where they do the Palos reservations changes. They usually have several options available.

My brother and I grew up on LI (Levittown to be precise) and people tell me I have an accent as well. I've been living in NJ for quite awhile now, but I know I slip right back into it when i'm with other New Yorkers. Should be interesting :rotfl:

I was born and raised in Queens just outside of JFK.(On the approach to 31/13).My accent is hard to place because of where I was I had multi accents to choose from, like Queens,Brooklyn(Les then 5 minutes away) and LI(Less then 10 minutes). Most people when they hear me think Boston.

good idea:) btw....I knew I recognized your disname. we seem to comment on many of the same things on the camping board. nice to see a familiar 'face' for the cruise. can't wait to meet you in person & these friendly disers on this board!:yay:

Could very well be.I occasionally pop in there. I used to work for the Mouse and still go over to the Fort, from time to time.Usually Ill take my kids to the petting farm, to kill some time, and wander the Trading Post.

The Palo high tea and brunch sittings are now all greyed out. If you want those sittings you should get to the port early. As for Palo dinner, there are plenty available. Only Thursday (day at sea) have only the first sitting 6pm and later sittings 8pm+ still available. Therefore you have a good chance of getting ressies at the 75 day mark. Good luck to you.

Although subject to change, High Tea offerings may include:

* A Selection of Premium Teas
* High Tea Finger Sandwiches
* Warm scones and a Selection of Jams
* Chocolate Eclairs

Yes but a 5 GTY, what do you know?????

When my inlaws decided they could go with us, we were looking for a cat 6 for them, like we did the last time. They were only 5 rooms down from us. We had put a 5 day hold on a cat 5 that suddenly popped up. A few days later, a 6 opened so I emailed DU and asked about switching the rooms and the best way to do it.

Our TA replied back that they had found the reservation for my inlaws, Roger and Joanne, and that they would try and work something out for the switch. I gave her my number and had her call me and we straightened that out same day. She had confused your reservation with my inlaws.

I beleive so. Pin trading really took off and its become a staple at the parks, resorts and ships. They usually have a designated time that you can meet the ships officers, and trade pins with them, along with other guests. If you happen to see someone walking around with a pin lanyard at anytime, you can stop them for a trade.

Couple of things will Im thinking.
1. Talked to DCL a few times within this last week.No one at reservations has heard where the Magic is going into drydock. They only know that she is going.I have a few friends that still work for Disney and Ill keep trying.

2.If anyone is going to be in the Orlando area prior to the cruise, stop at the Disney Character Wharehouse at the Prime Outlet mall, before our cruise if you are able to.We went there 2x this week and found a lot of DCL merchandise there, that was deeply discounted. I got my son the last Pirates in the Carribean baseball hat, thats normally 23.00 for 7.00 They had lots of other PITC merchandise, as well as regular DCL merchandise, such as polos, sweatshirts, shorts, pins etc. They have a pretty good selection of pins in general. They only downside,is that occasionally they only have certain sizes, though they do get shipments in almost daily. They also have selections from the parks, such as princess costumes, and jewlery.

Thanks for the tip. It was perfect timing. We are currently in Ft Myers and heading over to Orlando on Thursday for a few days. We will definately hit this store. Disney is such a money/sales machine that it is hard to believe that DCL does not sell merchandise on a website. We are planning to visit Magic Kingdom and Blizzard Beach on Friday/Saturday. Which to recommend we should do on which day? Is there a better day for each? I may know DCL pretty well but I am a novice on WDW. Thanks.

If youre staying at a Disney resort, Id say the MK on Fri, then BB on Sat. Reason is that there is extra hours for resort guests, and the MK is open until 3am.
If youre not staying on Disney property, it doesnt really matter. What ever day you decide to go BB, go early as with the heat, the park has probably been closing due to capacity.

I am open to suggestions on the FE thing. We have 13 families right now. A couple of us have two rooms. I had thought after final payment was due, I would confirm with everyone to make sure they are still with us. I do think we need to set a cut-off date.

Will let you know on the aqua boats! DH gets motion sick adn wears a patch for the cruise. We can't push it, though, so can't do most sails or anything where someone else is driving. This seems liek a great way to go!

Let's see.... he's done bands, dramamine (regular and non-drowsy), salt, ginger, and the patch. he loves teh patch and can even do coasters with it. Still, when he's already spending so much time on a moving vessel, it's just not worth it to put him on a smaller boat. I'm just absolutely thrilled that he can cruise, doesn't matter to me that we avoid small boats for excursions. There's plenty of other stuff we can do. That being said, if you have any other tips to share, that'd be great!!! We're doing a triathlon with a swim in Lake MI in 10 days and swimming in teh waves gets to him too. :sad2: He's not thrilled about using any of his other tricks before a race. Feel so badly for him. I was motion sick once: small boat, handed out bags as we got on because it was rouhg, but I never get sick, so sat faicng backwards and tried to write. I screwed up on so many levels. :rolleyes1 Gave me a hint of what he has to deal with, though.

That being said, teh way DCL does it, late dining is not bad. You go to the show first adn early dining sees the show while you eat. We tend to be the early to bed type and this still worked fine. For our AK cruise, you ate at 9 or 10 adn went to the show after. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Ok.I get it from time to time in the cabs of our trucks while trying to type a report or read the MDT for a call info.
Heres the thing with motion/seasickness in general. It basically comes down to a sensory issue. Basically your eyes see 1 thing, and your body feels something else, and a mixed message gets sent.

Couple of things will help if not eliminate it in most people.
1. Make sure your sinus and ears are clear. This can cause a imbalance or a minor infection in your inner ear, that will cause,or make motion/sea sickness worse.
2.Drink plenty of clear fluids. Dehydration can play a big part in SS/MS.
3. For people that are prone to ms on small boats, look at the horizon.try not to look at the bottom of the boat. Keep your mind occupied on something other than the motion.
4.Dont fight the motion.Go with it.
5.Relax. Dont think abut getting sick. You can actually talk yourself into being sick.
6.If at all possible, stand up and move around a little bit. Keep the breeze in your face.

Im walking out the door to Sonnys BBQ and Ill post a few other things later.

Okay, so since I have never done this before, I would be happy to go through the process once more before the actual day I will be able to book excursions online. Could somebody please look over my list and tell me if I'm correct?

1. Booking window opens as soon as the day begins, i.e. right on midnight
2. Have to be paid in full to book (CHECK)
3. Doesn't work if I was logged in before, so I have to log out and back in again after midnight
4. Then I login and retrieve my reservation
5. Do I get a list of all bookable activites right there on that page in my account? Or do I need to have them saved previously under "saved activities"?
6. Anything I forgot?

Thanks to all experienced DCL cruisers for your help! :flower3:

3. Doesn't work if I was logged in before, so I have to log out and back in again after midnight. I didn't have to do that. :confused3 I just kept refreshing the page until the shore tours weren't grayed out.
4. Then I login and retrieve my reservation
4a. Then you click on My Cruise Plans
4b. Under 'Reserve Activities' click on 'Excursions'
5. Do I get a list of all bookable activites right there on that page in my account? Yes Or do I need to have them saved previously under "saved activities"? The activities that you have 'saved' are on the list highlighted. You can filter the list as well. You can view by port, activity type or you can just ask it to show you the activities in your 'saved' list
6. Anything I forgot? Don't forget to breathe! Tulum is still available :thumbsup2
7. Repeat process for 'Palo Dining' and 'Spa/Fitness'

When you go to post the phot from flickr, do you take out the existing http in the pic box?

When I use photobucket, I copy the link out of the IMG code box,(Itll start with [IMG]http://i6 )then paste it to the board. Dont have to use the image button on top.

Welcome. In that case, either day is fine.At the moment icant think of any 1 day that would be better then the other at MK. The other parks maybe but not the MK.

I wanted to thank you again. We hit the Disney outlet store and bought several DCL shirts, polos and left $117 behind. We also found out at the prime outlet store that there is also another store at the premium outlet several miles down the road and hit that store as well. We did Blizzard Beach today and left before TS Bonnie's pouring rain hit at 2:30pm. Off to MK tomorrow. Thanks again!! 85 days to the Magic :cool1::cool1::cool1:

I think final payment date works best. but it's just mho.

The weather was nice for Blizzard Beach, until 230 yesterday. We got rained on in Winter Haven where I work.We just moved into a new station and are still busy putting things away and finding homes for stuff.Everytime we tried to hang a hose hanger, and clean out 1 particular corner, it would rain sideways, wed have to close the bay door, and quit for a while. Then by the time that we got ready to go again, it would rain.

I'm Kathy sailing with my brother Frank. We are doing jeeps :drive: in Cozumel and Seven Mile Beach :beach: in Cayman.

We are also doing WWoHP and IoA on the Monday after we get back from the cruise. We thought a weekday might be less crowded.

we're actually taking the 1/2 shell tour - did the stingrays & snorkeling last time & not interested in that again & then adding in the lunch @ 7 mile beach - when i emailed them about the times this is what they stated:

"The tour will be from 9-11 AM, and you will have a little over an hour for the lunch stop."

the current Disney itinerary states 7:30a - 4:30p

you don't think the 1 1/2 hours will be enough time to get from port to their ofcs?

50/50 chance of getting it right. The 2 exits look really close feature wise.

Since I only work every third day,Ill have to wait till I go back to work on thurs (Kelly days are great) to put some more stuff up. We ran a call about 130 and we could see it getting dark, and the wind picked up considerably.By the time we got to the call, it started to rain and it was really windy and rainy as we got back in the station.

I think your right, that Disney is feeling the pinch from the economy. Its been busy but not overly so.I was surprised 2 weeks ago at the lack of tour groups there, and also the lack of tour groups in the mall also.

I totally understand about your need to get everything booked. I was going crazy waiting for my booking window as well. I was just talking to my brother last night about dinner ressies for our trip next January! I really enjoy the planning part of the trip which is what makes the DIS so much fun.

We are all in the same boat  regarding the dinner rotation. You'll know your dinner rotation as soon as you get your room key - it's printed on there.

I'm pretty sure you will get Palo (there are lots of 2 person reservations left) but if not, one of us will escort you to Rockin' Bar D as soon as we board. :flower3:

We're well under way with the countdown. I can not wait. Neither can DD, by the way, from when she wakes up to when she goes to sleep she wants the "Mickey Boat". It's going to be a long 3 months until we go!! DH keeps promising she'll forget, but I don't think so. I've printed off a picture of the boat and laminated it so she can carry it around (mainly because I was tired of watching the dang video over and over!).

Oh, I forgot to ask, is anyone bringing a Halloween costume? Do we know if there are going to be any special Halloween events on our cruise?

My DS (5) will be dressing up but it will be a pirate costume for the pirate party.pirate:

Not sure if Disney plans on doing any special halloween stuff..that would be great if they did.:wizard:

I've done the Magic a couple of times during this same week (a week before Halloween) and have never seen any Halloween decs or festivities/activities. BUT, who says we have to rely on them to do it??? If you want to decorate your doors for the holiday& wear costumes & set a DISboards trick-or-treat night, then go for it!

I'm planning a Halloween themed Fish Extender. I shall post when it's complete!

excited childQUOTE=ericalynn1979;37548583]Hi everyone! Checking back in to see how your Monday is going!

We're well under way with the countdown. I can not wait. Neither can DD, by the way, from when she wakes up to when she goes to sleep she wants the "Mickey Boat". I have the video practically memorized we've watched it so many times!! And yesterday I swear she was ready to walk out the door and go find it!!:rotfl::rotfl:3t

It's going to be a long 3 months until we go!! DH keeps promising she'll forget, but I don't think so. I've printed off a picture of the boat and laminated it so she can carry it around (mainly because I was tired of watching the dang video over and over!).

Anybody else with excited kids?
We have then three year old. All we hear is she wants to go on big plane and mickey big boat. I also have a husband who is just as bad. We are getting anxious to go. We will be going mk on the 14th and 15th. Anybody else going on those dates?

Not sure.I know both my kids will be in school, and the 15th we are leaving early to go to the CIS.My inlaws are picking up the kids to bring to us.
However there is an intersting wrinkle, that will prob drive us nuts well before we leave.

I know that my fiance is driving me nuts about how the date cant get here soon enough.

I think I have now taken care of all our trip stuff. Yesterday I booked Magical Express and got the travel insurance. Now all that's left is to pack and go when the time comes!

We need ME from the airport to OKW on Thurs. before the cruise. J & R are picking us up on Friday to go to the Radisson. We also need ME back to the airport on the 25th.

I get it. So you guys are leaving on Monday? I'm staying until Wed. and Frank is staying until Friday.

If I had known you guys were going to Ghirardelli for lunch on Friday, I would have booked an earlier flight :lmao:

lol - You'll have to make up for it on the other end of your stay!

Having had 2 vacations already this year, there was a limit to how long I can be away yet again. But we don't like to plan to fly the day of or before the cruise either. So going on Thurs & returning on Mon works the best.

I will bring the kleenx. Megan and I were boo hooing at the end. Love the latin buzz. Megan wants us to find her a spanish speaking buzz while we are at WDW.
