How is it to stay there? Besides a lot cheaper.
I'm going to miss Dixie Landings desperately but I"m too broke to swing it this year!
I think the difference is $30 a night vs. $194. Worth it, right?

Find the thread for Country Inn and Suites Caylpso Cay. After reading it we booked for our September trip. We used valuetrips.com and got it for only 54 a night for a suite. this includes breakfast. It is a brand new hotel that really lookes nice.
Days suites is very bad, it would ruin your vacation if you stayed here, we did once and it turned me off any days hotels forever.

I have stayed there on several occasions. It ihas always been clean. When someone has a bad experience, they feel it is the rule, not the exception. There is a lot to do for families, and there are 3 pools, laundry and Old Town next door. You don't hear the noise, no matter what people say. The old car show on Saturday is a must see. A good value overall.

have you ever thought of renting someones DVC points? That can be very cheap, and with a fridge/freezer- coffee maker and microwave in room you can eat breakfast in the room daily. I have done it in the past and it is quite a deal. You can get a studio at OKW for $350 (all included) for a 5 night Sunday to Thursday stay.

When we stayed there 5 years ago, our room backed up to Old Town and you could hear the noise. I never had a complaint with the cleanliness but had problems with the service. Our keys didn't work half the time and the wait for service in the lobby was always 15-20 minutes because of the lines. I have since discovered rental homes and prefer to stay in them when I need more than one bedroom.

We stayed there twice. The first time was in 1994. It was very nice then. In 97 we stayed there again. Ugh!! What a difference!! The entire week we stayed, I don't think they ever changed the sheets. It kick in the pants was when my then 6 yr old son jumped on the bed. The frame fell apart!! DH is handy and he was able to reassemble the frame. Underneath the mattress we found several "adult" magazines!!!:earseek: I won't even tell you what the mattress itself looked like!!!!!

We stayed there in 96, so things may have changed. It was adequate. The idea of a suite with a kitchen is nice, but they charge rental fees for dishes, pots and pans etc. They are not in the room, you have to get them from Housekeeping. Room was clean, so was the bathroom. We were gone most of the day, but at night the resort was quiet. The pool was old, dirty and cracked though. It was not a bad place to stay, but I wouldn't stay there again. I'd rather go for fewer days and stay at the All-Stars, or save my money for another year.

Have you thought of Magic Castle...
We stayed there for $33 a night for a suite. It has a microwave and a fridge.
I have pictures if you want them, just e-mail me.

Have you checked out codes for the WDW resorts on the mousesavers site? We have a moderate for $84 for a quick trip, value resorts are less.

Wow, I looked at the valuetrips website & the rates look really good - do you know if there is a penalty for canceling like some of the others, i.e. $10 processing fee?

If at all possible stay onsite. How about the value resorts? There should be some codes available or ask about the Fall Fantasy room only price. The resort buses make it so much easier to get around! Good luck!
