Can you see & hear the fireworks from the Magic Kingdom from the beach at the Polynesian? Can you hear the music from the Spectro Parade? What about at the Grand Floridian? Can you see all (most) of the Magic Kingdom from the observation deck of the Contemporary? Is this deck restricted to just those dining at the California Grill? Besides being in the MK, where is the best place to view MVMCP fireworks?

You can go on the observation deck of the Contemporary with out eating in the restaurant. You can see most of the MK from there. The music for the fireworks is on the speakers on the beach of the Polynesian but not Spectro Magic.

Great view of the fireworks for the marina at Grand Floridian, however the only spot that you can hear the music is at Narcoosees restaurant. They dim the lights and pipe in the music during the fireworks.

What is the deck at the CR like? Would it be safe for an 8 and 4 year old? We'll be staying there in Oct. and I have been thinking that it might be nice to go up there one night to see the fire works:D
Bump, I'd like to know also if it is safe for a very active 4 year old :)

We ask for a Castle view every time we stay at the GF. We can go out on our balcony and see and hear the fireworks. And have a perfect view of the electrical water pagent at night. From the Poly you can see the water pagent and like a quarter of the fireworks. There are a few obstructions that block you from seeing the fireworks from the Poly. At the Contemporary you have to go up to the observation deck, and you can only see the back of the boats that display the light show. I would say go with the GF because that is the nicest. (request a castle view) And the inside is beautiful. The GF is my favorite resort I think you would like it.

I am not sure where Vlahakis2001 viewed the fireworks from the Polyensian but none of the fireworks are blocked from the Polynesian beach.

I was wondering the same thing? The view from the Poly is great!

We were not on the beach for the Poly fireworks. I am sure the view on the beach was a lot better from where we were standing. But there was definitely an obstruction from where we saw them.

Would like to hear from anyone who can offer some advice about the deck on the 15(?) floor of the CR. Have you gone out there with children? What is the deck like?

The Grand Floridian is a great spot for viewing the fireworks.
The marina (just outside the Gasparilla Grill) and the boat dock, next to Narcoosee's, offer a clear view, and no crowds. And by the boat dock you can sit on the grass and ooh and ah to your heart's content. :Pinkbounc
But the most special way to see the fireworks from the GF is from your room! If you stay there, request a MK/castle view. They'll usually accomodate you -- if you ask far enough in advance -- and you will be rewarded with a truly memorable vista. I mean, imagine waking up in the morning, rolling over and seeing the castle from your bed!

How do you get to this deck? Is it open all the time or just at night? Can you hear the fireworks music from up there? I'd like to video the fireworks from up there. Is it usually crowded? How early should I get there?

You must take an elevator up to the 15th floor (California Grill) to get to the observation deck. One elevator does not access this floor.
When you get out of the elevator, make a right (you will enter into the CA Grill lobby when you exit the elevator) past the "check-in" desk, and then make another right and go down a little ramp to glass doors - exit via those doors, and you'll be out on the one side of the deck (MK side). You can go in and out of the doors to the CA Grill. Not sure if the elevator accesses the CA Grill all day long.

As for being safe for children, there are guard rails on every side.
