A very early pre trip report!
Dates: Sunday 7th November - Friday 12th November staying at the fabulous Hotel New York.
Travelling from Glasgow to London by train the day before to visit family. Getting to DLP and back by eurostar, and returning to Glasgow by sleeper train on Friday night. Flight times would have lost us two days in the park so we are having a rail adventure!
The cast: me (Lisa) age 22 - absolute Disney geek. I'm the planner and the others fear I'll be running the trip with military precision (they might be right) love most characters but stitch became a favourite on last years DLP trip, and chip and Dale are my all-time faves. Best rides RnRC and TOT.
My sister Samantha aged 17 - loves Disney too just not quite so obsessed as me. Winnie the pooh is her favourite! I converted her to big rides on our 2009 trip so we will be fastpassing like crazy.
My mum Morna hates thrill rides but loves the Disney magic, BTM and IASW and has always wanted to go at Christmas. Wants to meet mrs incredible!
Our past trips:
1994 - DLP, Hotel Cheyenne (Mum, Dad, Sami and Me)
2000 and 2003 - Family holidays to WDW Florida (offsite)
2006 - DLP and Paris for my 18th birthday (offsite, just me and mum)
2009 - DLP, Hotel New York (just me and Samantha)
So this is our first time with all three of us there together since 1994! We can't wait. For those parents taking their young kids to Disney these days, you may well still be taking them aged 22 - be warned lol.
Aims for the trip - ride RnRC a million times! It was shut during my trip last September and I was gutted.
Go for a nosey in all the other hotels!
Ice skating at hny
Meet tiana and naveen
Plan for meals (will probably change)
Sunday - walts
Monday - manhattan
Tuesday - annettes
Wednesday - steakhouse
Thursday - cafe mickey
Friday - lucky nugget
We are none of us massive eaters so lunches will probably be light snacks from stalls etc.
We all get along well (and we look alike too) here is a photo of us:
http://i911.photobucket.com/albums/ac319/loladelorean/SSL22743.jpg
This was in Lanzarote last year, my dad was taking the picture and he and my boyfriend Leith were making us laugh but I can't even remember why!
I found our old "EuroDisney" photos (since that's what it was in 1994), so here is a photo of the last time the three of us were in DLP together:
http://i911.photobucket.com/albums/ac319/loladelorean/mainst94.jpg
And finally here is a snap of me and Samantha in DLP last year, sporting more Disney merchandise than you can shake a stick at:

Phew we booked our trip in March so even though its still over 3 months away its starting to feel close now, I've had loads of fun writing this PTR lol.

Yay for a fellow 20-something Disney nerd! :woohoo:
Your PTR sounds great so far. :goodvibes
I'm so jealous, I was hoping to go back at Christmas, but my friend doesn't finish uni until Christmas week and there's no way I'm going when it'll be manic!
...perhaps a May 2011 trip will have to be organised...:rolleyes1

Happy planning!! :goodvibes
p.s. I've got the same Mickey bracelet!

I'm sure you will be! Although my mum jokes that if I ever have kids, I'll try and make them be as Disney-mad as me and they'll rebel against me and hate it. I hope not! Can't wait to have kids and take them to Disney.
When my mum first took us there aged 6 and 1 she never imagined that's where we would still want to go at 22 and 17 :) she's pleased that when it comes to Disney, we never grew up (and probably never will)

Woo there's plenty of us out there! May 2011 sounds good...I graduate next year and am hoping to convince my disney-hating boyfriend to go for a short trip in May or June as my graduation celebration. It will take me that long to convince him lol.
Maybe you could go in January its super cheap and quiet, and xmas stuff is still around at the beginning. Oops, am I putting ideas into your head....? :rotfl:

Hopefully, by the time you convince him, the new offers will be up and that attractive price may help. :thumbsup2
Read your report on Cafe Mickey too, can't believe those waiters! :scared1:

Boyfriend has agreed to go to hotel new York for 2 nights next June, if we can get 40% off!! I'm in total shock. It's a big sacrifice for him as my graduation gift but I'm hoping he will get caught up in the magic too once we get there! If he truly hates it I'll never try to take him again.
As for those waiters, watch out they're sneaky! We are returning to cafe mickey this year but my mum will be there - it's a bold man who tries to chat you up with your mum watching!

Wanna bet :lmao: My DAD was with me on my last trip (and step mum) and three times I got asked out....and three times my dad yanked me away and said NON NON NON to the poor CM's and shook his fist :rotfl2: didn't stop them though! Not bad for a 37 year old :rotfl: though I must admit,I don't look my age, it was still a bit on the funny side!!
I shall be there on the 8th - 12th, and eating in nearly the same places so we must say hi (though we are in the Sequoia) and compare notes on how many times we've been chatted up :lmao:

It's finally here!! We get the train from Glasgow to London tomorrow, and the Eurostar first thing on Sunday!
I am going crazy with excitement here, wish I could fast forward the next 48 hours :rotfl: :hourglass
Anyway, the next you'll be hearing from me is "The 3 Big Kids Return to the Magic" trip report, next Sunday! I'm taking my laptop and planning to write up the trippie as we go along, but until HNY joins the 21st century and offers free wifi, there will be no live reporting :lmao: :surfweb:
Soo, here is our plan for meals etc:
Sunday: Cafe Mickey 9pm (after the first tree lighting and Fantillusion of the year, and our first time seeing them ever!) :santa:::MickeyMo
Monday: Walts for lunch at 1.30pm, Annette's for dinner after the fireworks (which I think are at 8.30)
Tuesday: Afternoon in La Vallee Village and dinner at Val D'Europe
Wednesday: Dinner 8.30pm in the Steakhouse
Thursday: Guided tour booked for the main park :wizard:, 2pm, dinner at Blue Lagoon 6pm pirate:
Friday: Lucky Nugget 1pm, Annette's takeaway before going for the Eurostar back :sad2:... But let's not think about that!
And there are a whole lot of FIRSTS for us to look forward to pixiedust:
All the Christmas stuff! Including Fantillusion and ice skating!
Tiana and Naveen
La Vallee Village
Cars ride! We only watched this for the first time recently and loved it, can't wait to go on the ride for a laugh :car:
My mum has never been to the Studios before!
Rock n Roller Coaster! Well, the Paris version anyway. The WDW ride is my favourite coaster so can't wait to go on the Paris one - was gutted that it was shut last year!
:faint::drinking1 COCKTAILS! We've never sampled the delights of DLP cocktails, but we are going to try out the bars in every hotel!
Fireworks over the lake pixiedust:
Salon Mickey ::MickeyMo and shareholder discount!
Toy Story Playland
Probably lots more too! Sorry for the long update and all the smilies but in case you hadn't guessed I'M EXCITED! :tigger:

Squee!:yay: I'm so excited for you and can't wait to hear all about your adventures! All your restaurant choices sound excellent by the way. Can't wait to hear about your experiences at Blue Lagoon and Walts. :thumbsup2
Are you staying local to St Pancras tomorrow night?
Makes me wish I had a mum who enjoyed Disney and a sister to share the magic with, I guess a best friend and her sister will have to do instead. ;)

We're getting the 11.50 train from Glasgow Central, you're welcome to come along and try to squeeze in our suitcase :rotfl:
Mind you with all the layers we've packed we've managed to fill 2 ridiculously big suitcases - dunno where our souvenirs are going to go, but we'll worry about that on the way back.
Oooh HNY can't wait to be back there and smell that amazing smell again :wizard: and see it all dressed up for Christmas! There will be plenty of photos when we return :goodvibes
Thanks everybody for sharing in my excitement today, not long now! We've got my laptop and approx 20 Disney DVDs to watch on the way down so the journey to London will pass quickly :rotfl:
