I will be in the San Francisco area late August and would love to spend one day shopping at the outlet malls. I remember reading a post which listed the outlet malls but I can no longer find it on the board. I would appreciate any help you have to offer. I will have a rent a car.

I think there are some in Vacaville, these are about an hour out of SF with no traffic (unlikely) and a couple toll bridges. Is this what you mean or did you not expect to drive so far?

My daughters and I were hoping to do some shopping. We will be visiting Union Square but I was also hoping to take advantage of some deals at the outlets. I have put a day aside for shopping while the boys take in a ball game.:)

Vacaville (East) and Gilroy(South) both have large outlet malls
Try this, it might help

Thanks for the link. So many choices and so little time. :goodvibes Do you know which one most of the locals shop at for the best deals?

My SIL shops at the one in Gilroy since she is in San Jose, but I have only been to the one in Vacaville. My best advice is to know your prices, just because it is at an outlet mall does not mean it is a good deal. Have fun and happy shopping!

Really good advice as you may find some of the same prices on Union Square.

If you more want to browse rather than buy there are a lot of shops on Grant in China Town but not clothing. Also there are tons of stores on the South End of Powel which is on the West side of Union Sq.

There is also one in Petaluma - about an hour north of the city, less time if no traffic.

I've been to the one in Gilroy and it was big! I went with my friend who lives in Danville and she's also been to the one in Petaluma and said the one in Gilroy had more stores and was better. If you like Bath & Bodyworks, they have an outlet store there.
