Well, we did it! My wife and I sent our membership packet in! my question from here is how long does it normally take to get official word of acceptance? Also, what are the chances from this pint that we won't be accepted? Has anyone ever gotten this far to be turned down? It seems to me that Disney would run some kind of credit check, etc. before mailing out your deed and mortgage papers.

Well...we just went through the same process ourselves. I haven't heard of anyone whose credit app didn't go through--almost seemed as easy as getting a credit card.

Once you send in your paperwork, you get a credit approval letter a week later...and then your deed is recorded a few weeks later after that. They should have given you an approx. deed closing date on your paperwork.

It shouldn't be much longer after this. Aren't you just SOOOOO excited??!!

wdwfreak, very few people are turned down for credit by DVC. My understanding from these boards is that generally what happens is they request a higher downpayment and perhaps a shorter term on the loan

Hello wdwfreak and welcome to the DIS!

We just closed on our purchase yesterday!
Here is the timeline we had:

March 29 initial call to DVC to make the purchase
April 4 contract and finance application arrives
contract states closing date is May 3
April 12 our financing is approved.
April 16 letter arrives regarding finance approval
April 20 contract for our add-on arrives (but this is a whole different story :) )
April 25 our closing actually takes place
(8 days early!)(on contract #1)
May 22 estimated closing date of our add-on
