Ok, so I have an idea as to how to handle this thread so that the meet information doesn't get buried. I am going to link to the Google Calendar in this post, and I will also list by days who will be at the World. Also in this same post I will update various meet days/locations as they get organized. So even if any chatter or additional posts with travel dates ensue on any following pages, this will be the post to check back on for any updated meet info/calendar additions. Cool? kdunkle - anyone can go, and usually the meet is just a casual get together that can include an ADR somewhere, a park meet to ride certain rides, or a more formal meet that involves a dessert party or cruise, for example. I've never actually done one at WDW myself, but I am familiar with the concept. I have sort of taken the reins on organizing various meets (not all of which I will be in Florida to attend) during the month of December, mostly because I have already created a Google calendar which stemmed from a bunch of single, solo, and/or adult travelers that are all going around the same time. Of course, anyone can suggest the specifics of a meet, and I'd be happy to add it to the post above --^-- that I am working on, which will hopefully include the names of each disboard member going to WDW on each day in December, and then also whatever meets are scheduled during those days as well.

Folks can modify this next statement, but in my opinion the best way to do this is to keep it casual and, for the most part, not require any sort of RSVP to these meets. True, ADRs or dessert parties will require a commitment ahead of time - but in general I am thinking of things like "Monday, December 6th, 11:30AM meet at Kilimanjaro Safari for a group ride", or "Wednesday, December 3rd, 12:30 PM casual gathering for lunch at T-REX", or "Friday, December 10th, 8:00 PM Atlantic Dance Hall - look for folks wearing the lime green Mickey ears!", etc...

One more thing: If there are enough of us that all want to meet on a certain date and can commit to it ahead of time, I can probably organize a "Grand Gathering" with Disney for something like the MK dessert party during MVMCP, or an ADR at a dining experience, or a fireworks cruise, or something similar.

tied down here in my local Pond!!! Family is visiting and not one of them loves the Mouse as much as I do. I was able to take them in May for a quick trip and thats it nobody want to go back!

and they were planting to go to Atlantis and I decline so they are not going either now the deal is nobody goes anywhere :rotfl2: but here... local concerts, flea markets, nearby shore and outlet malls.

Now that I have more than a minute...

There are nine of us total in our group, but three of us will be out and about in the late evening and ready to meet up on the big kid rides. My best friend, my sister and I will be out a couple nights at Jellyrolls and any other place that some of the more experienced, uh, adult beverage consumers might suggest. I've done one no kids trip, but we were so exhausted that we only went out once. :laughing: Most of our day will be spent with our big group, but we are totally into meeting up for rides, parades, whatever. We'll be at MVMCP on December 5th. And if I keep talking about it I might cry 'cause I'm jonesin' for WDW real hard today. :lmao:

Ryan - Great idea to make ADRs for 4 people. If you want to PM or post the details I will add them to the calendar I am working on in Post #9 of this thread. I can make a note that interested parties will need to RSVP with you so that you can keep track.

Mike - I think a "unattached singles only party" is perfectly fine, and if you'd like to organize the details (even if its a simple 'meet at ESPN Club December 12th at 8 PM for beers') I can post that information on the appropriate date in Post #9 of this thread.

Everyone - Could I get thoughts on if anyone wants to try to do any super-casual MVMCP 'let's all meet and go on a ride together' meets, or if anyone wants to do any RSVP type dessert party MVMCP meets?

We will be arriving on November 27th - checking in to the Villas At Disney's Boardwalk Inn - Departing on Saturday December 4th.... NOT departing for home - we are departing for Port Canaveral for a 7 night Cruise on the Disney Magic! Anyone else on here.... on board as well?

I'd also like to mention to ANYONE reading/lurking/posting/visiting/living in Florida during December 2010, please speak up with some suggested meets - I don't want to have to think them all up on my own, especially since I might not attend them all.

One thing that might be fun to do as group, for those going into the parks, would be to see how many rides we could simply take over for a run or 2. Like EE. See if we can fill the train with just us.

Something else to do in the evening one night might be to meet up over at the Boardwalk and just kick around outside if the weather's decent enough. Not necessarily plan to go into Jellyrolls or Atlantic Dance Hall or anything specific. Just hanging out on the boardwalk itself wouldn't really cost anything that way. One of the days, we could get a group that's interested and go resort hopping for a while. See if we can make as many hops as possible before having to hit a park or DTD to make the next connection. Make a game of it.

There's a couple ideas. As I think of more, I'll try to get them posted. I'll try to think of things that won't necessarily cost people anything as I know I'll be on a bit of a budget as will most likely some others.

Just thought of another idea that could be done in one of the parks. Form up a couple or a few teams and do a Photo Scavenger hunt, preferably with Digital cameras so no one would necessarily need to pay for developing film.

There could be some really easy to difficult things to find in one of the parks. Point values would vary based on the difficulty to locate the requested item. Some items might have a clue to determine what the item is, while others may blatantly state what to get a picture of.

Also - we have an Illuminations Cruise booked on December 2nd and don't have anyone else confirmed yet - as of now it's just the two of us, so we could either take 4 more couples- or we could take a family with children for a total of 10 of you plus two of us. Cruises can handle 10-12 depending on the number of children. I am thinking $38.00 per person which would include the tip for the captain/driver.

these were just taken with a cellphone camera... so if you have a better camera which everybody did that time you will get better picture and clarity... the ride is about 16 minutes!

Last year when we did it... they have a special that if you go back for the second time you get 50% just by showing your ticket... so we did it at night also!

So far, both of the trips I've been to the World, I've done the Disney DiveQuest. I'm almost tempted to do it again this coming up trip Dec 3-11. On a similar note, however, my party of three just purchased our MVMCP for December 3rd, 7th, and 10th, with a dessert party on the 7th, as well as the all day Backstage Magic Tour on December 9th and a Club Level Wildlife Excursion on December 10th. Just about 60 days away! I'm beyond excited!!!

It's getting closer. I got my MVMCP tickets for the 3rd, 7th and 10th ordered. I elected for Will Call so I don't misplace them. After listening to Kevin and John's review of the Wave i have now canceled my ADRs (dinner and breakfast) for the Wave. Wow I am not sure I would be able to keep down my meal looking at the color and decor they described for the wave. I always thought it was supposed to be light blue not what it is.

Haha. When I was last there, they were building EE and it was like waving bacon in front of a dog. What a tease! I hope it's as good as everyone says.

Ooo, it's getting closer! I'm still considering the DiveQuest tour on the 8th. Any SCUBA certified members here going to be down there then? There are 2 tours that day and I'm in the second one. :cool1: The tour officially starts at 5:30 PM and lasts 2.5 - 3 hours. If you come to the Living Seas main aquarium you'll get to see divers walk through the main pavilion before getting in the tank.

Man the Wing over Homestead Show here at the air froce base is over so now all I have going on is thinking about my Disney Vaction. It is getting so close, I am lookign so towards seeing the MVMCP on the 3rd of Dec and the Osborne Lights it has been a few years since i gotten the chance. Since they have opened more discount rooms at the value resorts decided to move from CSR to ASM so I can add two more days to my trip. Arriving late ont he 26th of Nov and leaving on the 4th of Dec. Ack! For my little family of three, it really IS two weeks from TODAY that we fly out red eye from Portland. Yes, I am beyond excited, but I am also incredibly busy with work and some home construction and now the holidays and we haven't even secured a house sitter yet - and with 4 dogs, 11 cats and a horse on a farm out in the country it's not as easy as one might think - I'm beyond stressed. Buena Vista - Thanks for the jogging links! I haven't gotten a lot of responses for potential joggers, but I plan to do AM jogs around Boardwalk every morning because that's where I am staying. I do 3 miles a day at home so I'm think just once or twice around the water is good enough since I'll also be walking all day. As an aside, since you seem to also be a jogger, I thought I would give a shout out to the RunKeeper App that I downloaded onto my Droid X. If you have either that or an IPhone, it is a great tool to track your activities via GPS, and counts your calories burned, distance traveled, elevation, and syncs with the companion website - and its all free! Very cool tool.

Ack! For my little family of three, it really IS two weeks from TODAY that we fly out red eye from Portland. Yes, I am beyond excited, but I am also incredibly busy with work and some home construction and now the holidays and we haven't even secured a house sitter yet - and with 4 dogs, 11 cats and a horse on a farm out in the country it's not as easy as one might think - I'm beyond stressed. ACK!!!!

Which is also why I haven't been able to do much to the calendar or anything. Sorry everyone. DOUBLE ACK!!!

I have also been unable to plan for any sort of DisBoards Event on December 6th, but I still have hopes to in the coming days. TRIPLE ACK!!!

I can't think of anything else to vent about, but even so.... QUADRUPLE ACK!!!

Buena Vista - Thanks for the jogging links! I haven't gotten a lot of responses for potential joggers, but I plan to do AM jogs around Boardwalk every morning because that's where I am staying. I do 3 miles a day at home so I'm think just once or twice around the water is good enough since I'll also be walking all day. As an aside, since you seem to also be a jogger, I thought I would give a shout out to the RunKeeper App that I downloaded onto my Droid X. If you have either that or an IPhone, it is a great tool to track your activities via GPS, and counts your calories burned, distance traveled, elevation, and syncs with the companion website - and its all free! Very cool tool.

Jes! We have to get together at some point during your stay! Did you happen to notice that a certain someone we've discussed seems to have been granted their most desired wish and is now no longer traveling solo? If you get my drift? Hee hee.

My 16 year old is making noises about coming too... we may just jump in the care and drive- about 10 hours- if the airfares don't dtop and I can almost always find SOMETHING thru DVC for a room for three nights. I will keep you posted... I need a little disney Christmas...

Hi Everyone! :flower3: I wanted to get your opinions about my preliminary trip itinerary. As this is my first trip without the hubby, I don't know how long I will need at each park :rotfl:

Thursday December 9 - arrival day, Hollywood Studios
Friday Dec. 10 - Epcot (evening EMH)
Saturday Dec 11 - MK as it is the only day it is open past 10 b/c of MVMCP
Sunday Dec 12 - AK
Monday Dec 13 - DTD before coming home.

Also, I'm thinking of doing a tour or something. I haven't decided yet. Any thoughts?

Little over 11 days till Reunion2010/Solo trip and I can't wait. Going to be very busy next week for me at work since we are gearing up for the holiday weekend and then I still need to get stuff for the trip. Ack I feel almost like Oregon girl today. Well it's off to work I go.

Hi there, where in MK is the meet on Dec. 6th. I am going to be there then. I will probably meet some of you at the Poly on Oct. 3rd, Going with daughter who is running the half Wine and Dine relay. She has a dinner meet (sort of) at Boma planned on Oct 1st, 5 PM Anyone who is going to be there then, check out "Mrs D" Boma dinner. There are still some steats available.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one on this boards going to reunion I'll be there from the 1st thru the 11th. I'll be at mvmcp on the 2nd and possibly the 9th. What's the schedule like for the dpn I've yet to see details on there site unless I'm missing something.

Yay, another fellow Reunion-er! I am arriving on the MVMCP night and it makes me nervous that I'll be missing the first night, when everyone is meeting for the first time. My first Reunion meet will probably be the Upper Rose Garden fireworks meet. I'm so excited for MVMCP!!!

Sorry to hear that you missed out on the meet on Friday. That's what happened to me last year with reunion but disapolooza made up for it. I'm glad to hear a few disers going to reunion. I'm staying at ASMo for the entire stay so if you want a lift any time I've got a rental this trip.

Where would you meet for a Dole Whip meet? I've never actually had a Dole Whip myself. The morning of the 6th is pretty much open for me, I wouldn't mind meeting up with others earlier in the day.
