I am going to be doing this on my upcoming cruise, and I have a question about wearing glasses. If i take an old pair, and then use a sports strap to keep them in place, will i be allowed to wear them when i parasail? I am as blind as a bat without my glasses, and i really want to be able to see. I don't have contacts so that option is out. Any idea if I can do this?
Thanx in advance for the information!

I cant remember if anyone wore them up on our boat, but I would think if you need them, especially if you have a strap, you shouldnt have a problem. They let us take up a camera so I cant see glasses being banned. Hope Im right. Good Luck!

I am glad to know that you can take a camera up with you! I was planning on this. Thanx for the info.

Yep! We actually bought a disposable one for parasailing, just in case. We also saw some(after the fact) with straps on them which would have worked out very well too. We kept the video camera on on the boat and then when I went up, DH taped me and when he went up I taped him. Its nice to have the video proving we did it and yet the pictures of the view from above.
Have fun! It really is a cool experience.

We brought the underwater disposable camera up with us. DH brought the video camera up with him, it was awesome to see the video when we returned. We have one with a screen and not the eye cup so it was easy for him to video tape. My SIL wore her glasses up, she would not have been able to see if she did not wear them.

Did you do this on Castaway Cay, or on another island? Is it very scary, I'm a big chicken, but would love to do this.

Samsma, we did it on Castaway Cay. It wasnt scary at all. You are on a harness with a parachute and you wear a life vest. If something awful happened(Like I thought about the strings snapping while I was up there) you would fall slowly, not go under water and the boat would be right there to pick you up. Plus its only about a 7 minute ride so even if you are scared, it will be over quickly. I would definitely recommend trying it unless you are absolutely petrified of heights. Good luck!
How packed is this excursion? We were thinking about waiting till we get there to see if we want to chicken out or not. Should we book it in advance or is it possible to get tickets after your there?

I think that this excursion is very limited, and that if you want to try it this, you should book your excursion in advance as I believe this will sell out quickly.

My daughter has done it for two years now and we haven't signed her up until we get to Castaway Cay. Doesn't mean it will be available like that always but we haven't had trouble yet.
