I don't know how many of you are going to own up to this but have you ever bought somehting from the shopping channels.

I recently have bought the following:

Paint pad system
Oxiclean and OrangeGlo
Aerobed

and most recently

Cathi Graham's Fresh Start diet

All have done exactly what it says they'll do apart from the diet which I've only just received so can't comment on.

SOOOO what have you bought...????

I have bought several things off the US QVC and Vernon did our trip to Majorca (which we have just returned from) from the travel channel. It was FABULOUS he'll be posting a trip report soon.

Ooo Tracy I'm glad you told me about that one I was almost tempted with the Rocketchef - do you have to use too much elbow grease?

Jana - looking forward to hearing all about your lovely holiday and hope your enjoying the sunshine now your back - the weather obviously knew that you'd have to top up that tan ;)

The last thing we bought was the Mickey American Salute from Ideal Home's Dianey Hour.

We really love watching the Disney (2) hours not least for the enthusiasm of the presenter Steve.

The only thing I have bought is my DH:p

Only joking.

I watch them but never have been tempted yet.

My MIL(from hell) buys off them all the time. Mainly dolls and beanies. Occasionally things that actually do something like the George Forman Grill and veggie steamer.

Now I wonder if I put her on the intenet would someone buy here. Shes in reasonably good nick just resembles an old dragon.:smooth:

Yep Kaylee UK there are Disney (2) hours.

They tend to be on a Sunday night at 10pm on Ideal World but there haven't been any for a little while now.

They do loads of the trading card sets, Cells, prints and I've seen the phones on there in the past

I succumbed two weeks ago on QVC!

DH was away - the weather was awful - and it was Crafting Day, so I stood and done my ironing, with the phone, pad and pencil at the ready - and without him saying "What do you need that for?" or "you've got to be joking - will you ever use it??" I managed to spend a bob or two!

I got - a Heat Gun, a Selection Pack of Stamp Pads and Embossing Powder, and QVC's TSV (which is Today's Special Value) and that was a Card Making Pack. It contained 2 more stamp pads (colours that were not in the aforementioned pack) 2 more bottles of Embossing Powder (only 1 duplicated colour), some gold and silver stickers, 11 Rubber Stamps, some ribbon, 50 Blank cards and envelopes, 20 sheets of paper and an hour long video

I think the whole lot cost about £60 but the heat gun and 11 rubber stamps alone would have cost me that so I was really pleased with my purchases and they came within 4 days!

Thankfully they only have 4 crafting days a year!!!!!!!!!!

Do you guys get the same QVC channel as we do here in the states?

Fantasia Sam

Steph - I think there is a QVS US Channel and a QVC UK Channel but we probably get some of the same products..... have you ever bought anything then???? Come on you can tell us ;)

QVC originally started in the states and then branched to over here.
I have watched it a few times while I was over here and there are slight differences. The two do sell some of the same things. The beauty products are different do to what is used in each country is different. I have noticed most of the gold sold is 9 ct in the US most of it is 14ct and some 10 but you won't see anything under 10 in the US.
There is also a difference in the fact that the US QVC has people calling in and talking to the hosts constantly but it seems over here not many people want to call in.

I was totally influenced by Janice.... and bought something on the Craft day as well - it's a machine called a Xyron which makes things into stickers - I have been wanting one for ages, so I didn't feel too bad about ordering it.

I also saw a very cute sewing machine that I fancied, but by the time I talked myself into it, it was sold out... probably not a bad thing!

Oh Bev! I know what you mean  ........ the thought of Janice and shopping channels must have her 'plastic friends' shaking like jellies LOL!!
I've never seen anyone go into a shop and be standing by the till armed to the teeth with purchases as fast as Jan! I tell you it's scary ;) :) :)

Moi? Never! OK, maybe once. I think, maybe, I bought a little travel organizer, or maybe not.

I will admit to watching the silly thing sometimes. It kinda sucks you in.

Ive had a surong from ideal world and a silver looking diamondie belt.

Just a quick heads up.

The Ideal World Disney Collectables (2) hours is on this Sunday (Channel 635).

They seem to (try) to sell, prints, cericels (that's not spelt right) art work, trading cards and loads of other stuff that I'd love to be able to put in our home.

Well, when it was just QVC I could cope but now there are just so many shopping channels it's amazing! I daren't stay on any one channel more than a few seconds or I end up getting hooked and keep saying 'oh I'll just watch till they show the next item'!!

I've only bought one thing of a shopping channel and that was a framed print of David's birthdate for his 40th last year. It was a bargain and really interesting, shame of it is that I wish I'd bought one for myself at the same time!

It always intrigues me as to how the presenters can talk for so long about some of the items!! :)
