10 Days to go for me, we leave for Florida on the 29th and I am
ready to fly. Oops we're driving!!

I just want to wish each and every one of you, a safe and smooth
trip to that wonderful big beautiful "SHIP" Hopefully we will all have our lime green ribbons on and get to say how-dy.

4-cruisin----I do believe you are first to leave, so have a ball and
live it up in Animal Kingdom. We stayed there last year for only two nights, but we had a good time. If you consider eatting at the buffet down stairs, check it out first. The kids might have a little problem. We spent the money and did not like it at all.

Hazmat---I am on the same deck as you, so we should pass in the dark. LOL

See you all soon and Fly Safe and drive safe

I can't wait to meet you all. We leave on the 28th to go visit the In-laws in Tampa. Yippee....haha

I am starting to get very nervous about this trip that I have been waiting all year for. I am worried I am not dressing my kids in the right attire for supper (or me for that matter). It sounds like you are all pros and know exactly what to where and when to wear it. I think if I am completely clueless, I will stay by the pool in my bathing suit and have my hubby bring me food.

If you have any great ideas for clothing, let me know. I want to bring a sort of formal dress (it's borderline). Would that be ok? I guess even if I wear it for a photo op and then go toss on sweats, I will be happy.

Do I need to bring shampoo??

Clueless in VA and just about to leave!!

Hello there - ok this is the cruise week for Key West --right?
If so are there any questions I can answer about Key west or anyway I can help? If anyone is staying at the radisson and wants to start their trip right with a sample of the REAL key lime pie - let me know and I will bring one over -
Glad to see everyone excited about their trip.
God speed to each of you.

hi everyone , i am taking a well deserved break from packing for 6 and i am totally stressed out , so now i'm saying throw it all in whatever we've forgotten we can live without .but to answer your question Kitty, i've already thrown in my shampoo and conditioner, although they do give you shampoo in the rooms, also bar soap for shower, hand soap, and moisterizer. i'm not sure about the conditioner though. i will be at the raddison on the 30 and will be looking for you there by the pool . and i'm sure whatever you wear will be fine.
Shirley i was hoping to stop by your shop if i can find it ,(i owe you an apology) we have a glass bottom boat excursion booked for key west and then hope to see the sights on our own.am most interested in the lighthouse.and as far as key lime pie goes i am always up for key lime pie the only type i've found here has a weird neon green color i can't bring myself to even try. we are taking the auto train down and hoping to get to the hotel before 2. i look forward to meeting you.
ps. wonder if you remember me you did a great boogie board basket for my son last year. tomi

Mooch: Don't worry to much about clothes. This is our 4th cruise (2nd with Disney) As long as you don't show up to dinner in shorts and flip flops you are fine. I think when people think of formal they think, Oscar night type dress. I think Sunday church dress, it's just a matter of perpective. I worried alot the first cruise and now, I haven't even begun packing. You will live in a bathing suit and shorts most of the time. As for the kids, I have a two year and I am taking some slacks and a nice shirt attire for formal nights. My sister just got back from the Wonder with her two boys (8&10) and they wore slacks and a Polo type shirt and they looked just fine.

Shirley: I spoke to Pat on Saturday! What a wonderful lady. I guess I will be talking to you tomorrow! I am ordering the Mickey puppet in a sand bucket basket for little Aram. I am not sure if you remember but Tim and I are going on the "dad's memorial picture" expedition when we get to Key West. Your phone numbers you gave us really helped out! After that we are taking the trolley tour, which I think Aram will do okay on. Other than that not sure what else we will do as KW is not geared toward infant/toddler tourists! I hope your uncle's health is getting better. He has been in our prayers.

Well Everyone!~~~ This time next week we will be on the CRUISE!!!!!!

Mucho smoocho for your help with shampoo and clothing stuff! I was worried that Kass would be a vagabond if he wore nice pants and a polo shirt. Whew! He wants nothing to do with a sport coat or a tie.
As for Paris, she has no problem wearing nice dresses. The more frilly, the better. Sadly, she has outgrown most of them and is down to one or two.
Hopefully I won't feel like I am under dressed. That normally happens. Hubby has no problems with his attire. Stinker.

Now Shirley, it seems to me that everyone knows the value of knowing you. I must know what I'm missing! I have never in my life had Key Lime pie. I would love to sample your wears. It sounds as though you have a shop of some sort? Where may I find you?

Finally....you guys are packed already? Holy cow! I haven't even dusted off the luggage yet, let alone figure out what we are bringing. Yipes! I guess I better get cracking.

Kitty

First and foremost - you all will be having a REAL KEY LIME PIE next Friday night - I will bake it sometime Friday so that it will be super fresh - will even bring a bottle of wine to celebrate your send off
First Tomi I have wondered for ever so long HOW DID YOU GET THAT BOOGIE BOARD HOME? Norm had a fit cause he just knew we were going to create problems for you - I am glad to see that you are making the Western cruise - you should have contacted me and I would have given some coupons to you that would have helped with expenses - if you are in early enough - stop by the shop and I will give them to you.

Second Naomi - I am so thrilled you are finally getting down to Key West and see about the memorial - I often wondered if you were able to find out if it still existed - PLEASE PLEASE write me when you get back and let me know ok - the same goes to you stop by the shop and I will make sure you get coupons etc and if not they will be in the basket - thank you so much for your order -Thank you most of all for thinking of my uncle - I will be down there again next month to check up on him and the rest of the family - you are right KW is not kid oriented - once upon a time it was but not any longer - check out the new butterfly musuem at the South end of Duval Street - it is suppose to be quite something for the kids - real live butterflies from all over the world -

third - Kitty if at any time a menu say Key Lime pie and it is a dark green - then it really isn't - real key lime pie is a light cream color with merangaie (the white of the egg beaten to a light foam) - it is made from real key lime juice - takes about 25 mins to make - super simple --awesome taste. Yep I have the shop called The Perfect Gift located exalty 1 and 1/4 mile south of the Radisson on the Ocean side and we do gift baskets and floral arrangements for the different ships - I was born and raised in KW and a 4 generation conch - that is why I know so much about it -

Fourth - anyone that needs or want some pamplets etc - let me know and I will bring them up to the hotel on Friday - no --no cost at all.
Always
Shirley

Shirley, hubby and I have never had key lime pie, but I am willing to try it. We are also at the Radisson on the 30th. I am going to look your place up, when we arrive.
Well hope we all get to meet along the way, and may all of Aug 31st cruises have a safe trip down to the Port.

When I am packing, I should think daytime and nightime, right? Shorts and shirts for the day and something a little nicer for supper? Stress factor big time! I feel like I need to rush out to Potomac Mills and do a mad dash through the stores! Do I need to bring sweaters for the evenings? How heavy?

Where is everyone meeting at the Raddison? I am not sure when we are getting there. Any good restaurants to eat that serves vegetarian stuff? No fish here. Nothing with a face. :p

Shirley: Your shop sounds way neato. I hope to get time to stop in and take a peek. If you don't mind, I would love some brochures.

This is my first "real" vacation, can you tell? I am so clueless about everything. I really thought I had it together. Ha hahaha!!!

I confirmed with DCL today that the test dining times have changed for our sailing. 5:30 is way too early for me so I switched to late seating at 7:45pm. They said they still had a few slots left for late seating.

Just thought I would pass the info along!

and would love some brochues shirley. I also called DCL and was kinda miffed that they changed our dining times. I called a few weeks ago and they told me we werent affected. I think 5:30 is too early so I am personally gonna still go at 6:00. We are fast eaters and will definately be done in time for them to get ready for late seating. I hate to cut short my afternoon activities any further just to make an earlier dinner time. I will of course warn my servers of this. I thought about late dining but 7:45 is still too late for my 4 year old.

See you all by the pool friday.

I guess as a group we run the gamut on packing styles!

We leave Friday (we'll spend Friday night at my Mom's) and as of right now ONE suitcase is out of the closet! My DD13 says she knows what she's packing. My DH plans on packing Thursday night. As for me I always take the same "vacation clothes" and am hoping that they fit!! The kicker for me is that DS16 is away at camp until Thursday evening so I'll be doing a few loads of laundry before his packing can be finished!

In any event I'm sure that we all will need this vacation after all of this planning and packing!

Lots of thanks to everyone on the boards for all of the great tips and info. Though this is our second Disney Cruise (we did the Wonder 4 day in November of 99) I feel like a rookie compared to some of you!

A week from now we'll be at sea RELAXING!

See you all on Saturday!

Naomi --- we are jealous of all those who left a day early ---
(why didn't we think of that!)

the bag with the ribbons will be Duct taped to our door (hope room steward/ess doesn't flip out!)

e-mail me and i'll send u a photo of us with BUZZ & Woody from APRIL! --->then we'll be even easier to find @ sail away!

(P.S. not sure BONGO is going with us --- he also posted in response to a WONDER sailing too, hope he doesn't look for ribbons on the wonder room 6652, cause the unofficial "julie" isn't on that ship, LOL)

Hazmat: Just sent you an email!

Well it's Friday morning, I am letting DH sleep in a little and tying up loose ends. Aram is running around like any other day! AHHH the joy of being two!

On the other hand mommy is wondering how I will fit everything into today!

Okay Who is left to still leave ?????

Well...I didn't think anyone else was as bad at procratinating about packing, but it's nice to see that there are a few others who wait until (almost) the last minute. I always say I work better under pressure.

We are driving down from Savannah tomorrow am...leaving a little before 7. That's the usual time that my kids are up and ready for school, so it shouldn't seem too early for them. Maybe I'll be packed by then....

npall...what's the weather like in "sunny" Florida? It has been raining here for 4 days straight. Thunderstorms this am and raining ALL day & night today. I hope I don't bring that weather down I-95 with me!

Safe trips everyone...see you on board!
