*falls down on her knees and kisses the feet of the Cartoon Network Gods who decided to not only bring back one of the most awesome 80's toons ever but decided to revamp and make it the most awesome action toon for the new millenium*
I watched the first ep last night when I got home..was 90 min of pure genius,as well as great characterization and action.I do think they made a mistake in silencing Cringer/Battlecat though. He was one of my favorites in the original and I loved how he was alwas coming up with reasons not to hang around because of him being so cowardly. They're showing the premiere ep again on Aug 30(two weeks from this past Fri)so if you didn't catch it last night..be sure to mark the calendar and catch it when it's on then. They're remaking one of the best 80's toons ever for a whole new generation to love.THANK YOU CARTOON NETWORK!

Oh darn, I missed it - my son who is now 26 has started his collection of HeMan all over again - I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the new version of Castle Greyskull - he has all of the originals also.

I think I caught the tail end of it this afternoon -- I thought something was missing with Battlecat. Why'd they silence him?

I saw part of it and thought it was great also. But I have to admit I do love the original the best.

Wasn't that a great show Ursula? I loved the new cartoon. The fight scenes were great. They were right out of "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon" or Jedi combat from Star Wars. Next weekend the new Transformers cartoon debuts.

I still have DS's HeMan sheets and bedspread. I could sell it to the highest bidder-then he'd come home from college and kill me!

How funny. We turned the 80's He Man cartoon into a college drinking game. Every time they say "He Man" you take a drink. We did the same time with Thundercats (when they said "thunder") :D

My boys were just watching that with their Dad this morning. Don't know who enjoyed it more:D

That is the most wonderfullest (LOL) thing I have ever heard. My brother is a HUGE and I mean HUGE fan...Christmas last year I searched and hunted for a Castle Greyskull and figures for him. Now he has his and my sons addicted and they don't even really know what it is....
Woohoo! (Wait...I am happy to put Dakota in front of the TV???)

This show was my now 20-year old nephew's favorite thing in the whole world when he was little.
Too funny--his favorite character was Skeletor. He had a Skeletor action figure he took to bed and cuddled like it was a teddy bear. His mom used to worry that such a scary-looking toy would give him nightmares, but he loved that Skeletor to pieces.

I saw the promos but missed the show. I was pretty suprised when I saw it! Now my DH is getting excited because of the upcoming Speed Racer episodes, he almost fell out of the chair when I told him I saw a commercial for them! :teeth:

I have to agree. They've japanimezed it(is that a word?LOL..)and turned it into a wonderful series.I wish I knew why they silenced Cringer/Battlecat but we probably never will know.I am also anxiously awaiting the premiere of the new Transformers...whoohoo!

I saw it and I didn't like it :(
It just wasn't the same. Couldn't they have made it just like the original??? The original is so much better. And what about She-Ra? Does she get a chance at a come back too? I LOVED She-Ra. I remember waking up one Saturday morning to turn it on and she wasn't there and she hasn't been back since :(
Anyway, it gave me an idea for a new cable channel. The Classic Cartoon Network. They could show ALL the good cartoons of the 80s. That would be the greatest thing ever! Or at least I think so. :)

They already have it, or something similar anyway -- it's called Boomerang. But it goes back farther than the 80's too. The original Johnny Quest and Space Ghost are two things I've watched there. Some shows from the 80's, too. :) Remember Pirates of Dark Water? That was another one I watched this weekend on Boomerang.

I haven't seen them yet, but I've been looking. :) They do use He-Man and She-Ra action figures as their symbols between some shows, so possibly... I'll see if I can find out, and in the meantime if anyone else knows, let us know when? :teeth:

Hmmm, keep an eye out on the Hallmark channel :)
This is from a faq on he-man.org:
Will "Masters of the Universe" be back on TV?
Things are looking up! Straight from the mouth of Tim Craig, VP of Legal and Business Affairs for Hallmark Entertainment:
"Hallmark has licensed the television rights to the series to the Odyssey Network. I have inquired as to when the episodes might be airing, and will let you know if I get a response. In the meantime, perhaps you and other "He-Man" fans can express your interest in seeing the series rebroadcast to Odyssey directly.
Since my sons were in their adolsecent prime at the time of the original He-Man we own just about EVERY SINGLE STINKING HE-MAN TOY EVER MADE!!!!!! I was just thinking about how I can get rid of all that stuff! What a kick to see it all come back!
gepetto, we have Thundercats, too. ;)

I wonder if you can *rent* the original He-Man eps from Blockbuster...? Now I want to see some originals to compare. :)

Not as far as I know,Rajah but it would be nice.
I love Boomerang..they have su ch great old toons on t here and some not-so-great ones.WHo ever gave a flying monkeyflip about the "Hairbear" gang? But I must agree, watching old eps of Thundarr the Barbarian and Pirates of Dark Water is soothing to the animated soul.:)

A rerelease of this?? Cool! I loved watching this cartoon when I was younger. Didn't collect the toys though. I was into Transformers mostly. Too bad I don't get the cartoon network up here. Just hope our cartoon channel gets this show! :)

Actually...to whoever posted that Boomerang uses He-Man action figures in one of their little in-between sequences...that's wrong. The action figure in question is a Thundarr the Barbarian action figure.Thundarr, being muscular and blonde and wearing a fur vest and underwear, looks like He-Man when flashed by quickly to the untrained eye.:)
