abreviations

I am completely confused with all those abreviations (VM, MS,GC, etc)
please someone, give me a dictionnary of all those letters, I am shure that will hepl many of the readers of this interresting board.

I am pretty new to these boards myself. If you go to the home page, under "forums" there is the subtitile "abbreviations." Most of them are there. I found myself referring to it often in the beginning.
