Hi all,
I spent a night at the Yacht Club on Tuesday (8/13) and then moved to the Beach Club Villas for Wednesday (8/14) night. I got the scoop on the room renovations for those who care...
The fifth and third floor rooms are finished. There is new carpet in the hallways with hidden Mickeys in the corners. We were on the second floor in two nonrenovated rooms, so we stopped up on the third floor to check it out. A cast member was up there and I asked him to show us a renovated room, which he did and I took pictures. There are also pictures from our non renovated rooms too at:
Yacht Club Rooms (http://community.webshots.com/album/47360355jveQOy)
I am still working on getting all my pictures up, but I will have pics of a 2 bedroom at the BCV up soon
Back to the renovated rooms. Looks like they added a desk and dropped the table and chairs. I saw in another post someone didn't have a daybed, but the room we toured did. The armoire containing the TV is gone and now there is a long dresser with the TV on top. This is good because you get more counter top space. I did not catch the room number we were in or even look at the bathroom because we didn't want to linger too long because we were impinging on the CM's time. I think the wash area was the same mirrors and double sink set-up. The coolest thing I think is the new bedspreads have Hidden Mickey Nauticle Knots in them. Hope this satisfies some of your YC cravings!

Thanks for sharing your pictures with us. I will be there on Tues. and I have been wanting to know how the renovations were going. A quick question, did you hear any noise from the renovations? Thanks again.

Gail,
The pictures were great! The newly renovated rooms at the YC look wonderful!
Where did they put the mini-bar now? Is it still in the dresser with the tv on it? Also, was there new carpet in the renovated rooms, or just in the hallway? Thanks!!:):D:)

Thanks for the pictures. Sadly, I was unable to reserve a room at the Yacht Club for my next trip, so we'll be at the Beach Club. I really like those renovated YC rooms, though!

Thanks for appreciating my work! You guys are too much!
Cindala, as I said, we were only in the room for a moment, so I didn't notice the carpet or mini-bar placement. I also didn't notice if there was still a dresser next to the closet.
Idors8, as for noise, we were at the park all day and some of the night (It was a great e-nite!) and we moved to the BCV early the next morning. I did not notice any noise at all, but I'm probably not a very good judge due to my lack of spending much time in the room/at the resort.
Pryncess syndee, you have to post a picture of your fam in your all matching outfit! I know it will be too cute! People kept complimenting us on how cute we looked and I even saw a guy at Splash Mountain wearing the matching shirt, too. He did like three double takes. Too funny!

I loved your pictures!
That was so nice of you to take time on your vacation to stop and take pictures of the newly renovated rooms. It's great to know the 5th floor is done. I had read where they had done away with the large armoir but it was great to see the pictures. I agree with you, I prefer the new look and having more counter space. I love the new bedpreads. I think they are very pretty...love the hidden Mickey's.
Did you enjoy you're dinner in the castle? We are thinking of having dinner there on our upcoming trip.
Glad to hear you had a great vacation and thanks again for the pictures. I really enjoyed them.:D

Thanks for the wonderful info on the Yacht Club. I was lucky to stay there in '97 and had the 4th floor corner room to the right of wedding gazebo (which had the BEST view of the Boardwalk and Illuminations). The room number was 4163, if anyone is interested. I clicked on your photos of the newly renovated rooms and they are lovely. I thought your matching outfits were a nice touch as well. All the best,

Great pictures, "Thank You" so much for posting them! I truly appreciate the renovation update.
Does anyone know if the 3rd floor is still the non-smoking floor? I have read it was and hoping to get two rooms on that floor per request when I made our reservations back in January. I emailed WDW customer services this week and they claim no renovations will be going on the time we are there, we arrive at YC next Sunday. I'm hoping this is true. Thanks for any more info.

Thanks so much for the photos, as we were all curious to the new look.
I really like the new beddings and carpet. Not sure the removal of the armoire is an improvement. Just from looking at the photos looks like you loose a lot of storage space. I also like the fact that with the armoire everything is out of sight which I prefer.
For some reason to me having the TV sitting out makes it look a Holiday Inn.

Thanks so much for sharing your pictures. I prefer the armoire to the long dresser myself. I loved the views from your balcony, just gorgeous!!:D
