I'm inheriting some old contax lenses from my brother (getting them next Sunday) and am wondering what kind of dslr camera they'll fit. I know, quite an obscure question...but I'm looking into purchasing a dslr and am hoping these lenses will work on it. They're from the late 70's, early 80's. When I get more info I'll post it (when I actually have them in my hands), plus I'm getting the yashica 35mm that they've originally been used with. I'm very excited!

I am pretty sure that is a mount all of its own and that there are not any DSLRs that use it. I searched and saw that there is a way to convert them to a Pentax mount, but it does not exactly look easy to do. There also could be adapters to use them on some other mounts, so you might look into that.

Thanks for the reply! I guess when I actually get them I'll be able to research them better...by the way, I'm so leaning toward a Pentax camera...they're just so pretty! LOL

I seem to recall that a Contax/Pentax mount switch is not too terribly difficult. Of course, that might just mean "possible" rather than "impossible". ;)

If they are particularly special lenses (like nice Zeiss ones or something), then you may want to see if you can swap the mounts. If not, you might be best off eBaying them and putting the proceeds towards your new Pentax, or lenses for it. ;) :thumbsup2
