Trying to afford a 2 wk stay (w Deluxe)

Am trying to map out costs of a 2 wk stay in WDW in 12/03 -- and desperately want to have the family stay 1 wk in a deluxe (AKL or WL). To do so, will have to consider a value- (or low moderate)priced hotel, such as those that may be available in Downtown Disney. I'm sure some others have done this...if so, can you arrange to have your bags moved directly from Downtown Disney hotel to the Deluxe Hotel? I'm most interested in having the move from hotel to hotel as seamless as possible for us -- maybe I'm asking too much. Anyone have any thoughts?

Hi! If you want to make the move more seamless, I would recommend staying in one of the Disney value resorts, as they will transfer your baggage. We have stayed at the Grosvenor Resort in Downtown Disney, and were told that only Disney resorts will transfer baggage from one resort to another. We had to take a cab to the GF, and lug our baggage over there ourselves.
