Finally got a chance to get this shot exactly as I originally envisioned it, albeit this time with that pesky Tronorail. Oh well, can't win them all.

THat is awesome! You have the patience of Job to wait for no people AND 2 Monorails! How long did you have to wait? Or is this a multi exposure? Either way it is incredible!

Tom, are you more of a fan, or less of a fan of the tronorails; after finally seeing them in person???

Well, there is only one Tronorail, so it's multi.

Honestly, my biggest objection initially wasn't the appearance, but the fact that an iconic Disney symbol had been given a city bus shrink wrap. I know Disney is a corporation, and cross-promotion is important, but I view the monorails (along with the Castle, SSE, and Grauman's) as "untouchables". That opinion is pretty much unchanged.

I am starting to come around on Captain EO, however.

So it's safe to say you're not in favor of the current plan to shrink wrap the castle to promote the Prince of Persia DVD release?

Awesome shot btw......

Care to share with us what is involved in putting it together?

Are you sure about that? The Disney Parks blog (http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2010/03/disney-monorail-trains-to-feature-tron-legacy-art/) clearly says "monorails". Their "artist's conception" also shows two different wraps - the yellow trail like in your photo and a blue trail.

I think there has to be more than one just because there are (at least) two monorails on the Epcot line at any given point - it's far too long a journey to just have one going back and forth, and I'm pretty sure that I remember seeing one going in opposite directions when riding that line.

Anyway - cool shot; I'm curious about your technique, too. I have a few ideas of how it could be done but I'm not sure exactly what you did.

I could be wrong, but I think there is one regular monorail and one Tronorail on the EPCOT line (I know there is at least one of each). I thought I heard after the initial announcement that there would only be one Tronorail. Could be totally wrong.

As for the shot: 4 exposures, layered (3 seconds, 10 seconds, 1/30th twice). If you read the caption of the shot on Flickr, you'll see that I 'fumbled' on getting the 'real' monorails in this shot. Upon review, I actually think I can salvage those shots. Will have to be after the bar, though, as it looks like it'll take careful editing.

I saw both when I was there in May.

Like when they made the castle into a cake back in 90's for the 25th Anniverary.
