Hi!!
I am intrested in registering for DIS Con, but I am a vegetarian, does anyone know if there will be a vegetarian option(s) at the reception and the group dinner? The 2 breakfasts are no problem, I eat eggs and dairy.
thanks for the help!

Hi Dawn,
It should happen within the next couple of weeks, long before registration closes. I haven't seen the options yet but will let you know! :)

Hi Dawn:wave:
It shouldn't be a problem! I was at DIS Con last year with my 10 year old DD. We are both vegetarians, who also eat eggs and dairy. We didn't have any trouble with the group breakfasts. There were waffles, eggs, etc. The dinner was done a little different last year. We got to choose between several World Showcase restaurants. She and I ate at Alfredo's with about 8 other DISers. This year it will be a group meal at the Swan, I believe. But, I would imagine there would be choices for us "veggies". Especially now, since you brought it up! Thanks!
Hope to see you there!

I'm not a vegetarian, per se, but I tend to lean towards them most of the time. :) Oh, and I do love my chicken. ;) Okay, okay, so I said I wasn't a vegetarian. :o ;)

HAHA, Tia!
I was a "chickenatarian" myself for about 7 years, after giving up red meat. I also still ate the occasional bacon, shrimp, and (YUM!) barbecued pork steaks. It's now been 2 years since I gave it all up! :D

I could give up all the beef, pork, and fish (don't like seafood anyways)....but I think I'd suffer without my turkey at Thanksgiving and on sandwiches...and without my chicken in my salads. :o  :o LOL ;) I live and die for Turkey and Avacado sandwiches and Chicken Caesar Salads. ;) :)
What's the word I'm looking for? The vegetarian who eats poultry.
Ick, and I don't like eggs and I don't like most dairy products. Wow, I could do this, I could become a Bird Vegetarian. ;)

Tia you eat all those birds maybe that is why you are such a coaster "chicken"
so quit eating the birds, start eating some red meat and let's take on the coasters.

Back to the regularly scheduled DISCON question in this time slot:
I'm sure as time gets closer things like this will be answered for those with requirements such as these.

If anyone doesn't want their steak, send it my way... the rarer the better!

I think I'll sit near Alex and take all the extra rare steak before he gets a chance to eat it all....:D :D

Ewww...I do enjoy a steak from time to time....but I like it so well done that I have to 'saw' at it. LOL I know, I'm weird. ;)

Come on over to our house any time Tia. I burnt a few steaks (and some chicken too) yesterday for a little impromptu BBQ. I had to run out to the store for more charcoal, though. Can you believe that I've gone through 48 pounds of charcoal so far this summer. Yikes. I guess I could save a lot if I cooked my steaks rare. :)

I'll put another hockey puck on the BBQ for you.
ROTFL!! This was a thread about vegatarian meals and it's turned into a steak/hamburger/Bar-be-cue thread. ;) ;)
Psssst-Another vote here for rare steaks! :teeth: (didn't want to be left out of the high jacked thread) ;)

Okay, back to vegetarian talk. :) I'm having carrots with Blue Cheese dressing right now. That counts, right? ;)

My best friend and her kids are vegetarians, and we recently had a pizza with vegetarian pepperoni. Pretty good! :)

CDoobee...didn't you eat with us at the Wilderness Lodge Whispering Cafe last year?
Now if you can eat vegeterian there, you can eat vegeterian at any WDW restaurant...lol.

YES, Ray! Katelyn and I DID eat at Whispering Canyon with all you guys! However, I have NO IDEA what either of us ate! HAHA Usually, if there isn't a vegetarian option that I like, I'll go for pasta, fajitas, or whatever that usually has the meat on top and just ask them to leave it off! So many of the vegetarian choices include mushrooms (YUCK!), or other disgusting veggies (of which there are many!) For a vegetarian, I really don't like too many vegetables!! HAHA :p :p :p :p :p :p
