AKA my 14 year old son. He is currently 5'3" with size 10 shoes. God knows how big he will be by November. I am really beginning to think maybe we should do an off site suite. If he can't fit on the daybed, then my husband will have to sleep with him, I'll sleep with my 16 year old daughter, and we'll put my 10 year old daughter on the day bed. This does not thrill either my husband or my son. Is the Polynesian really worth it??

Our son is 6' and he sleeps on the day bed every trip with no problelm. I don't think he stretches all the way out, never does. My older daughter is 5'6" and she has also done the daybed with no problem. Hope that helps.

My 17yo ds slept on the daybed last August with no problem. He was about 5'10. Your son should have no problem. The poly is definately worth it! It's our favorite resort.

Anne60--we are not staying Poly but are staying YC. I will have my ds try out the daybed and let you know how it was for him. He too is 14 but is 5'11 and wears a size 14 shoe. If he doesnt fit well looks like he will have to camp out with his brother in the other queen, that ought to be good for a few fights, lol.

Until my parents became DVC members, we always stayed at the Poly - and I always got the daybed. It's actually very comfortable - pretty comfortable matress. I'm 5'7" and have plenty of room to stretch.

The Poly is worth it anyway. Great atmosphere, and there's no better resort in WDW for getting around, since the T&TC is a short walk away and you can take either the monorail or boat right to the MK

The daybeds at the Polynesian are a regular twin size bed with a twin mattress. The Daybeds at the Yacht and Beach are shorter and narrower and with a bunk type mattress.

Here is a photo of each:

When we stay in a room with a daybed, my son (large, 6'3", college football player) will take the daybed mattress and put it on the floor. It gives him more room to stretch without banging the wood headboard and footboard. (Why does such a big guy get stuck with the day bed???...Older, bigger brother gets the other queen.)
