Activities at Port Orlando?

We will arrange transportation from WDW to Port Orlando about noon on Saturday to board the ship. Is there any thing to do at Port Orlando worth going early for? Shopping, sight-seeing, etc?

Port Canaveral is within a very short distance of NASA and there is an incredible facility there.

If we leave WDW with a shuttle service and stop at the space center, do you have any ideas about what to do with our luggage? Has anyone done this before? Also, what about the shuttle service?
