2010 DL Half Marathon WISHer Meet & Greet [Archive] - The DIS Discussion Forums

WISHer Meet and Greets for DL Half:
I have planned a Friday at 6:30pm, DTD area outside in front of Jamba Juice.
Another groups of WISHers are meeting Saturday 4:30pm at Gibson Girls.

For Pre and Post race meeting up with other WISHers, look for the family reunion tents. Look for the end of the alphabet, the "w" tent and that is where you may find most of us. Also look for the lime green Shirts and/or hat and visors.

It won't be long and we'll all be at the "Happiest Place on Earth" - Disneyland! Yea!

I'd love to do a "meet and greet". However, there are a few of us that won't be able to meet on Friday night around 6:30pm due to another committment.

It is my understanding that you have to get a Fast Pass to see the new show, World of Color, in California Adventure. Friday night seems to be the best opportunity for us to do this. Saturday night's show is not an option, for obvious reasons, and we won't be able to get an FP for Sunday's show since we'll be doing the half on Sunday morning...and we all leave on Monday. Since some of us won't arrive in Anaheim until noonish on Friday, we won't be able to get the FP's. So....we're going to eat at one of the WoC participating restaurants at 6:00pm so that we can get some type of special FP to see this show at 9:00pm. If any of ya'll are interested in doing something like this, you might want to make your reservations soon before this option fills up.

So, do ya'll still want to meet on Friday night? If so, that's fine. I certainly don't want our plans to interfere with the group's plan.

I won't make the WiSH meet this year. If all my plans hold, I'll actually be flying in on Saturday night, then flying out Sunday late afternoon.

The rest of the long weekend I'll be with DH visiting my daughter at Parents Weekend at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs.

No World of Color for me this trip, but I assume it'll be there when I visit another year.

Susie I'm thinking Sunday for WOC and pre ordering one of the picnic lunches that come with a pass to the show. My flight doesn't arrive until 4 on Friday so if I miss the Friday meet and you decide on a Sat. time please post.

This is what my mom, aunt and I are doing. I hear the WOC fast passes that come with the Picnic Meals are good veiwing.

So, I've been putting off posting a response, b/c I wasn't sure about our plans for Friday Night. I'll be there if we don't go to the Giants/Dodgers game. Crossing my fingers we don't go to the game. As much as I love my Giants, driving through Downtown on a Friday night, let alone Labor Day weekend, isn't something I really want to do but my dad thinks it would be fun. I'll try and convince him that we are driving down early Friday morning and he can spend some quality time w/ my sister who is flying in from Boston. So hopefully I'll be there on Friday night. Crossing my fingers! :goodvibes

kim3339 If you do go to the game, check out the e-savers on dodgers.com I thik they have specials for that game. We are going on Sunday, and I just got $70 field box seats for $28.

My DH is coming on this trip, so my plans are evolving. Still hope to make it there. If not, do we have any race-morning location, or do people just head for their corrals?

Yes, those time and places are still the same.

For pre and post race hanging out, yes the "W" family reunion tent is where you will find most WISHers. Look for the Lime green W.I.S.H. shirt or hats/visors. Some WISHers are early birds and get there early and head for corrals as soon as they open, so you may not catch everyone in the AM.

never been to a meet before...but this sounds like the right time.

Will be there friday at 6:30. Not sure about Saturday yet. I have a college Cross Country race to go and watch as well as getting things set up with my team at work for Sunday morning.
