Missing girl in Bassett, my town

The little 9 year old that is missing lives right down the road from us. My family from NC has been calling and telling me to make sure I watch my kids (I have been extra careful lately) and DH is talking about getting a gun:( and new locks for the house.

This is such a SMALL place and nothing ever happens here. DD will be starting school next week, I will be walking her to and from the bus everyday. I just can't believe how dangerous the world is becoming for little kids. I have seen this on the news all summer but now its RIGHT HERE!:( :( :(

DH and I will be watching granddaughter this coming week. She has new boundaries in the yard (our yard is not fenced). She is not allowed out front without either one of us with her.

Prayers this little girl is found safe.

Ever since Ive heard this today, Ive been thinking about it.
Normally, kidnappers or sexual perverts dont shoot the parents before abducting the child. This is strange and scary.

This is so sad :( I'm sorry you cannot feel safe in your own town as well. I do pray she is found soon and that she is safe.
