Hi everyone :) I'm just in the process of planning my first solo trip to WDW.
So I plan to go at the beginning of November 2011 for 14 nights staying at POR.

I've been 4 times before with the family so this solo business is new ground for me and a little daunting.

I'm looking forward to the freedom of being on my own, bit I'm a little apprehensive about being lonely and eating alone (although I plan to eat mainly counter service due to getting the free dining plan).

Also plan to rent a car for a few days to take a look at the new Harry Potter attraction at IOA.

Any tips for solo trippers will be much appreciated :)

Having 'survived' my first solo trip this May (and also being from the UK lol) I can honestly say you will love it!

I enjoyed the freedom of doing what I wanted when I wanted, I went to one park for a couple of hours then another park for a couple more hours, then back to the resort to chill, then out again - if I'd been with family/friends I'd never have been able to do that.

I ate a mix of counter service meals and table service and I actually felt more comfortable at the sit down meals, especially the restaurants with a chef's counter/bar to sit at.

I enjoyed it so much I've also booked for early November next year too (with free dining)!

Took first solo trip Oct. '09.

I did TOT 9 times in a row.

I stayed at MK until I was the last one out the gate.

I did the Backstage Magic tour. Great idea with your extended stay.

I lingered over dinner at Citricos as long as I wanted.

I was the first one on the bus from FW to the day's resort every day because I had only myself to get ready.

I slid into 3 character breakfasts without a reservation because I was a solo diner.

I rode EE over and over via the single rider line...
