I have been a long time follower of all the planning journals here on the boards! I have followed many stories from beginning to end and I finally have my own story to share!

To start this off right let me introduce myself...my name is Kristin and I am a Program Specialist for an Autistic boys unit by day and a Wedding day Director by night...I have always loved the meaning behind a wedding and I am so happy that I have found my prince charming. I work for The Queen of Hearts Wedding Consultants as a Wedding Day Director and I am really excited that I am able to begin planning my own wedding!

My Fiancé, Rich, is in the construction business and loves to occupy some of his time riding his quads and dirt bikes...he's quite the manly man.

One summer I worked at a restaurant as a server where I met Rich's cousin, Kathy. Kathy and I worked great together and eventually started hanging out. Kathy was constantly trying to set me up but I had recently split with a long term boyfriend and knew I didn’t want another relationship...however a movie never hurt anybody! One night while hanging out with Rich's cousin she decided that we would be a great match...she had mentioned that Rich hated going to the movies so she suggested we go out to dinner. Kathy then called Rich, talked to him for a few minutes, then handed me the phone…after Rich and I chatted about mindless things he asked if I wanted to get together to do something this week. Of course I said yes, and when he asked me what I wanted to do…I said go see a movie! He agreed without so much as batting an eye, I knew this would be a great start to a wonderful relationship. Later that week he met me at work…on his motorcycle…and we headed to the movie theater…in my car. We saw The Bourne Identity and wound up talking through the whole movie, I then drove Rich back to his bike and we sat in the parking lot and talked until 4am. Rich and I decided to say goodnight and agreed to meet again in a few days. The next day Rich called and thanked me for the previous night and we decided to go to dinner the following night. That next night I drove to Rich’s house because I refused to get on a motorcycle, and we headed to dinner. We had a great meal and conversation, we finally left and I drove back to his house…parked the car…we said our goodbyes…he leaned in for a kiss :lovestruc and the rest is history! Shortly after that night he bought a car and drove me around everywhere after that!

Here we are 8 years later planning our happily ever after in the happiest place on earth!

Twice As Nice…

Once again congratulations are in order…

Kristin who has worked with our team as an assistant over the past few seasons, and who will be working with clients this year as a Wedding Day Director…has some news to share!

I got a call the other day…”Mark, call me back I need to talk to you about something!”

Well Facebook being what it is …I knew before she and I talked!

Kristin and Rich are engaged!

It seems that somewhere after midnight and ringing in the New Year with family, Kristin fell asleep…. waking her up and heading home, Rich suggested they better take ‘the girls’ {Lily and Paisley} for their walk …

{It was around 4:00 AM when Rich said he dropped “something” and asks me to help him find it-I was thinking you are only holding a leash…how did you drop that?

Reluctantly I started walking back towards him and ask what he’s looking for-our street is dark so I couldn’t really see much-then I realized he was not looking for anything.

There he was on one knee with the open ring box in his hand (I thought he was joking). He then said something along the lines of “I want to spend the rest of my life with you, will you be my wife? Will you marry me?”

I was shocked and said “are you kidding me? Stop joking!” (still not fully believing him at this point).

He then takes the ring out of the box and that when I started to tear up…THEN I said “YES!” (about 10 times!).

He put the ring on my finger and we stood in the middle of the street hugging and I was crying.}

CONGRATULATIONS to Kristin and Rich….

Rumor has it a wedding at Walt Disney World is in the works….. {Kristin and I are both huge Disney fans so this should be interesting!}

And in case you’re counting….. that makes TWO team members of The Queen of Hearts Wedding Consultants who will be planning weddings this year….

I’m guessing we’re gonna be a little busy here!

I'm really excited to start this whole process. I have lots of ideas and can't wait to share them with you!!!

Oh and does anyone know how to put a link to our PJ in my signature...but rename it so it does not say http://.....? Thanks!

Now that Rich and I are engaged we need a bridal party.

Since Rich and I are having a destination wedding we thought we should keep the bridal party small. Rich was set on 2 guys, but I was thinking of 6 girls…so we started with the flower girls and ring bearer.

Three years ago Rich’s brother and sister-in-law had a baby girl, Olivia, and two years later they had another girl, Paige. How could we possibly pick one to be our flower girl…we couldn’t!

So Rich and I went to Olivia and Paige’s and to ask them both to be our flower girls {after we spoke to their parents of course}.

When we arrived we were greeted by hugs and kisses-as usual. When the time was right we asked Olivia if she would be our flower girl-she said “I would love to be a flower girl,” we then asked if Paige could be one too…Olivia said “she wants to too”…and that’s why we have two!

http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/op.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/ope.jpg

Since we had the flower girls…we needed a ring bearer.

I have been preparing my family for a Disney Wedding since I knew you could get married in Walt Disney World.

My cousin recently had a son, Mason, and it was almost common knowledge that when “Aunt Kristin” gets married Mason will be the ring bearer.

So at a family New Year’s party I took my cousin, Angela, aside and asked her if she really would come to my wedding if it was in Walt Disney World and if Mason could really be my ring bearer…she said “yes, of course”…I then said that it would be soon because I WAS ENGAGED!

She congratulated me, then I handed her a few things, she read the card, told Mason, gave Mason the stuffed Mickey and put his Mickey Ears on.

Then we brought Mason out into the living room, wearing his Mickey Ears. Everyone said how cute he was but was not catching on, then Angela said “Mason’s going to Disney World” and still my family did not get it…then I said “He’s going to Disney World as a ring bearer” and everyone started to cheer…it was fun!

http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/ringb2.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/mme.jpg

Now that we had two flower girls and a ring bearer it was time to hammer out the rest of the bridal party.

Rich had said that he felt it was important for his Brother, Bob, to be his best man and that he would like to ask my brother, Kyle, to be the groomsman {sounded great to me}.

But tried to think long and hard to try and pick two girls but I couldn’t! I felt that I needed to have four girls…so I planned to ask my long time best friend, Carrie, to be my first matron of honor and my future sister-in-law, Kreshen, to be my second matron of honor.

I then asked Stephanie, a cousin of mine, to be a bridesmaid and Nicole, another cousin, to be my other bridesmaid. Rich thought it would be odd to have more female attendants then males, but I pointed out that we had two flower girls and only one ring bearer…that sealed the deal!

http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/bm.jpg

I then decided I needed to make a treat to go along with the card. Whenever I go to Disney I make it a point to buy a delicious rice crispy treat {I have managed to get Rich hooked too!}

What could possibly be better then Mickey shaped rice crispy treats? Nothing! For this task I put my mom to work and we bonded over melted marshmallows, butter and rice crispy cereal, this was the end result…

http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/rct1.jpg

My mom and I then assembled the cards and paired each one with a homemade Mickey rice crispy treat:

http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/bp.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/rct2.jpg

How can anyone say no?
Nobody did and I am so happy that we will have a bridal party with 11 including Rich and I!!!

Thanks! They were a little tricky and we needed to work fast...having two sets of hands really helped here. I make Mickey pancakes and eggs for my nieces. I actually used the Mickey egg mold for the treats. Keep the mold and your hands really buttered up! Give them a try...they were delicious!

Sorry for the delay in updates ladies...I needed to get my pictures off my old computer-Thankfully I am back-up and running!

As promised I am sharing our save the dates with you all...

But before I get into that I wanted to say that 7 days after Rich and I were engaged I contacted DFTW...As I mentioned before I work for a wedding planner in Philadelphia {The Queen of Hearts Wedding Consultants}, the owners name is Mark Kingsdorf and he is PHENOMENAL! Awhile back he attended an open house at DFTW and met their Senior Wedding Consultant, Pam Pearce...as soon as he heard I was engaged and would be planning a Disney wedding he told me to contact her. Of course I called Pam the very next day! Pam was not in the office when I called so I left a message, not long after I hung up the phone she returned my call :yay: We chatted about my engagement and my ideas for our wedding, it was a great conversation and I knew that I would LOVE working with her from that point on! Later that day Pam sent me a follow up e-mail with a ton of information that she promised to send me, she is absolutely wonderful {I'm a bit sad that I won't have her through the whole process...but I am excited to find out who my planner will be}! Pam and I have been in contact via e-mail ever since and I can't wait for our planning session this August to meet her {And hopefully my planner too!!!}

Now onto the STD's {which is odd to type, however it takes too much effort to type Save The Dates...over and over again :rotfl:}

Since we are doing a destination wedding I knew that our STD's had to be fun and "destination-y"...I search the internet and wedding magazines for inspiration. I saw a lot of cute ideas {ie: boarding passes} but I wanted something that our guests could actually use when traveling to our wedding...and that is how we decided on...LUGGAGE TAGES :goodvibes

Once again working for a wedding planner has yet another benefit...I work with an AMAZING graphic designer, Christina, and thankfully she offered to help us out and design anything we needed!!!

I found some great 100% recycled envelopes on envelopemall.com and luggage tags with plastic straps on another website-I placed the orders and waited for the items to arrive
http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/1.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/2.jpg

Once I received these I went to work on measuring and working with Christina {The Graphic Designer} to create our logo for the tags...as she was working on those I took inspiration from Martha Stewart and made labels for the envelopes...which matched our King/Queen of Hearts stamps perfectly and I didn't even plan it :woohoo:
http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/DSC_0012-Copy.jpg

I always loved the idea of envelope liners and knew I needed to have one...so I made these
http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/DSC_0005.jpg
notice anything?!

I then wrote a letter to include in our STD package
http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/DSC_0013.jpg
because I know everyone might not be interested in coming to a Disney Wedding {However something might be wrong with them :rotfl2:}

Next was the STD card that included an informal RSVP
http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/DSC_0009-Copy.jpg

Christina sent me the AMAZING logo that I just LOVED and bam
http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/DSC_0020.jpg
our luggage tags were born!!!

http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/DSC_0036-Copy.jpg
I placed everything in the the labeled and lined envelopes...We loved them, and hope our guests do too!

Our little beauties were ready for their send-off...so they buckled up for safety
http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/3.jpg

Our guests have received them and started replying...we are at close to 50 yes' and only under 10 no's...they have until next Saturday to reply :dance3:

Ladies-We found the dress-es!!!

I have been searching high and low for a dress for my girls to wear, or dresses. I have looked at J.Crew, Vera Wang...and a BUNCH more...there were so many that I really liked and thought "there it is." But when I went to the bridal shop to pick up my bridesmaid dress for my cousin's wedding I saw this dress in the window and I fell in love with the fabric! Fabric I know...however it was this light tissue taffeta that had this beautiful iridescence-y look {which sounds odd}. However the dress was short and strapless...I had always imagined that my girls would be in long dresses that would not be strapless! So I went to see what other dresses this designer, Bill Levkoff, had that were long and not strapless...much to my surprise I fell in LOVE with a short strapless little dress-with POCKETS {which I didn't notice at first}!

The store's sample of this dress was "watermelon" and not "terracotta" so this is the color sample
http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/DSC_0063.jpg

I sent all my ladies a link to the Bill Levkoff site and asked them all their opinion...and much to my surprise everyone liked the dress as much as me! So we made an appointment to go to the bridal shop to try it on. Luckily we were all able to go this past Saturday and everyone was able to meet each other for the first time :yay:

Everyone was able to try on the dress...but here is my one cousin modeling it for you!
http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/DSC_0056.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/DSC_0057.jpg
There are so many things that I love about this dress...asymmetrical, pleats, pockets...of the adorable bow in the back the won't come untied!!!

Thankfully I was also able to find another dress that I loved just as much...but for the flower girls! My future nieces {Olivia and Paige} were more then happy to try this one on...they would have loved to stay in the dresses all day {they didn't want to take them off when it was time to leave}!
http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/DSC_0058.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/DSC_0061.jpg
Olivia {the oldest} gave it her seal of approval..."Aunt Kristin this is the perfect spin-y dress!"

Since the flower girl dresses are by "Us Angels" they do not have a coordinating or matching color...so I am purchasing extra fabric from Bill Levkoff and making each girl a sash. I am also going to make pocket squares for the groomsmen, a tie for a ring bearer {Mason} and our ring pillow that Mason will carry down the isle.

Hope you ladies like them as much as we do! :flower3:

Well since I can't do too much with planning...YET...I am always on the lookout for something I can do, make, or use for our wedding.

The other day I was making my weekly trip to my favorite store...Target. I was "window shopping" when I noticed a big bin of these beauties..

http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/Tissues.jpg

I quickly recounted my pre-rsvp yes' in my head and decided I needed to buy about 50 {to be safe} so that I could put one in each of our hotel room welcome boxes! The lady at the cash register must have thought I was crazy or had a really bad cold...especially since I counted them and knew how many of each character I had! I know...I'm !

I think they are so cute so I figured I would share :thumbsup2

I knew that I wanted to buy ties for our guys since the "coral" color at Men Warehouse was not what I was hoping for...Anyway my mom found these ties and I need to know which ones you like best, please and thank you!

Just a reminder our colors are Coral, Turquoise, and Grey.

I love the tissues! I may have to go to target and pick some up!

I also completely understand what you mean by "falling" in love with a fabric. I was bummed when the dress we all loved didn't come in the fabric I wanted.

I like option 2 for the tie, but I'm not a big patterny person. If the pattern is going to be on a lot of things, then maybe it would tie in with the groomsmen? Sorry, i'm not helpful! lol

http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/Tie1.jpg

Option #2
http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/Tie2.jpg

I am not sure if option #1 is too much pattern with the flower girl baskets {this pattern will be making more of an appearance also}! Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks Ladies...I know you will help me out :flower3:

Kristin,

Are the guys wearing suits or a tux ?

I love the kleenex's. I may have to go pick some up for welcome bags as well!! I have been racking my brain on what to put in the welcome bags and that is a great idea.

I like tie #2. I think number 1 may be to much of a pattern for the flower girl baskets. I love the pattern on the baskets by the way!!

Sorry, i'm not helpful! lol

I LOVE Target! You should...they are great...plus light for shipping to Florida {which is ALWAYS a + in my book!}

I do like color and pattern but I think you need to be careful mixing patterns and I think that 1 might be too busy to go with the rest of my plans...even though I like the tie on it's own!

Kristin,

Are the guys wearing suits or a tux ?

Chuck-the men are wearing gray suite's...no tux's. Rich will thank me for that later...lol!

I still do not know what I am filling the welcome boxes with but I figured these were a good start! Thanks...a little hint I LOVE Vera Bradley! :rolleyes1 There is more in store for that pattern {but I'm keeping it a secret...at least for now...lol!}

Hello Ladies...and Gents!

It has been awhile since I posted but as you probably know you really can’t “plan” much before you sign your LOA and even at that point your hands are still tied with food and floral…and most other details! I have spent a lot of time recently researching inspiration pictures {since I can do that} :) I am in LOVE with a bunch of things…I will share them with you soon!

In any case…6 more days until I am in the happiest place on earth and 7 days until I get to meet with Pam in the newly renovated Franck’s! I have a million questions for her…hopefully I can get some answers.

I will be taking as many pictures that I can remember to take and I will share them along with a site visit planning session trip report upon our return.

Happy Planning to all my fellow Disney Brides…and Grooms!

This post is LONG overdue so please forgive me! :flower3:

My mom and I recently made a trip down to the World to meet with my Coordinator {Pam} to check out the wedding locations, get questions answered, and to finalize a reception location…we were going with a plan-which we never do! This trip was also another excuse for me to stay at a different hotel with the final goal to stay at every Disney hotel…it’s on my “bucket list”!:rotfl:

We boarded our plane out of PHL at 7:00AM and were on our way to Disney!!! Every time I begin the trek I instantly turn into a little kid…I get SO excited…it’s FANTASTIC! After a short 2 hour flight our pilot, Captain Hook, and flight attendants, Ariel and Aladdin, announced our arrival in sunny Orlando Florida…10 minutes early! Go Hook! The pilot honestly introduced himself and the crew this way upon takeoff…he embraced the Disney magic and I was so excited that he made the flight “Disney-like,” it was great.
http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/SVPlane.jpg
Once we landed we went straight the lower level to board our magical express. This trip we only opted for carry-on’s only so there was no need to go to baggage claim but if we didn’t then Disney would pick up our luggage for us and take it to our hotel room {LOVE the Disney “magic”}!
http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/SVDCLBus.jpg
After a brief wait we were boarded onto our bus which was actually a DCL bus…but hey it was still going to get me to where I needed to go…and we were on our way! This trip we were staying at the Caribbean Beach Resort…and I was excited since I heard good things about the resort. Once we arrived at our hotel around 11:30am we were dropped off at the “Custom House” where we checked in!
http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/CIMG5279.jpg
http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/CIMG5280.jpg
We were greeted by a VERY friendly cast member. She retrieved our reservation information and said “Congratulations on your recent engagement and we are glad to be hosting your wedding!”…”it looks like you have been upgraded to a water view room at no charge!” I was so excited…see why I LOVE Disney! It also turns out that our room was ready so we headed outside to wait for the resort shuttle to take us to Jamaica!!!
http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/CIMG5290.jpg
After a short ride we arrived at our "island" and made the short walk to our room.
http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/CIMG5286.jpg
Once inside we were greeted by this little character!

http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/CIMG5281.jpg
After dropping off our bags and a quick freshening up we walked to the bus stop to catch a bus to the Magic Kingdom!

Welcome! Thanks...I fell in love with them too, glad they are getting love from others. Your right-it's so hard not to buy things when you see them because you never know if you will see it again if you don't buy it and if you do buy it you might change your mind (which I have done :rotfl:)! Hello...I know, I know...What happened to the posts?! :confused3

With everything that I have had going on I have not had anytime to read anything on the boards :scared1: let alone post! I am working on the trip report from our site visit and I hope to post SOMETHING (anything) tonight!

In the meantime WE HAVE OUR PLANNER!!!! :yay:

Pam Pearce was our coordinator and she was absolutely phenomenal...I loved working with her but I knew that she would not be with us for the whole process..sad but true.

Since we submitted our LOA we have officially been handed over to our planner, Carol Mikles!!! Pam assures me that we are in good hands. Have any of you ladies worked with her? She sounds sweet and has an awesome southern accent...I wish I had one :rotfl:!

Carol sent me a BUNCH of things that I plan on looking over tonight...I guess I can actually start planning rather then brainstorming...life is good.

Well I hope to get some followers back to posting and I guess the posting must start with me...hope your still out there reading and following our plans-it's about to get exciting!

Well we made into the Kingdom with no problems-as usual! As soon as we walked in we ran into http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/CIMG5292.jpg …let the magic begin! http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/button1.jpg

We made our way down Main Street USA to pay a visit to Walt…but he already had a visitor http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/CIMG5298.jpg .

Shortly after snagging this picture http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/CIMG5299.jpg we ran into the “Move It, Shake It, Celebrate It Dance Party”… http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/CIMG5304.jpg

This was just the beginning of our impeccable timing! After the dance party the show in front of the castle began and we scored a great spot to stand! While waiting we noticed a “hidden” Mickey in the shrubs http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/CIMG5311.jpg ! http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/CIMG5313.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/CIMG5317.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/CIMG5320.jpg

After the show it was off to play! My mom and I took our time going through the Kingdom starting off in Adventure Land. The crowds were practically nonexistent therefore the lines were short; I guess that’s the upside to rainstorms every 10 minutes for 5 seconds and the crazy heat and humidity…which will be torturous on my hair for the wedding and honeymoon in 292 days!!! We rode a few rides and strolled through the lands until we needed to head to the Contemporary for our reservations at The Wave. We boarded the monorail and we were off… http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/CIMG5323.jpg . I must say that I never ate there before but I truly enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was killer…delicious! http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/CIMG5328.jpg For dinner I had the Strawberry Flatbread Salad with midnight moon cheese and champagne vinaigrette http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/CIMG5332.jpg (YUMMMM!) and The Wave Appetizer for Two which is sautéed sea scallops with rock shrimp and lump crab cakes http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/CIMG5331.jpg (Do you think they would ship this to me…I could TOTALLY eat it…RIGHT NOW!)

Since we were already in the Contemporary my mom and I decided to get a sneak peak at the ballrooms… http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/CIMG5337.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/CIMG5336.jpg

Next we headed back to the Magic Kingdom to finish what we started…but we took a pit stop to find this http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/CIMG5338.jpg I really wish that Disney would run this promotion again…I need one, however now that I have seen the wedding ones…I think that I actually NEED one of those!

Back into the park http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/CIMG5342-1.jpg and ready for some more fun! We wandered through the lands and ended up in Fantasy Land for Wishes! http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/CIMG5347.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/CIMG5348.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/CIMG5351.jpg Which was then the PERFECT time to ride the carousel and find Cinderella’s horse!!! http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/CIMG5352.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/CIMG5353.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/CIMG5354.jpg
We then started making our way out of the park. I stopped at the hat shop to get some special ears that I will share with you all later!!! And we ended the night with the Main Street Electrical Parade http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/CIMG5357.jpg

What an AWESOME 1st day!!!

Up next…Our Actual Site Visit and Meeting Pam!

11-22-2010, 11:46 PM
It was our second day in Disney and that meant it was D day! Today was our scheduled site visit with Pam at Francks. My mom and I started the day with a quick breakfast at our Resort before heading to the Grand Floridian and making our way to Francks
http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/CIMG5362.jpg
http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/DSCF1352-1.jpg
When we got to Francks we were greeted by the receptionist and seconds later Pam arrived and took us into one of the meeting rooms. We sat and chatted about my vision for our wedding and we talked about the different locations for the reception...since I had my heart set on the wedding pavilion since day one! We met with Pam for a good hour or so, going over some initial questions. I mentioned that I wanted to have the reception at the Nutcracker Ballroom in the Contemporary (But you might remember that my mom and I were a bit under impressed by our impromptu sneak peak the night before). Pam then said she had a few other places that she wanted to show me...and off we went!

Even though I KNEW I wanted the wedding pavilion we still made a quick stop to check it out...and there was a wedding scheduled for that afternoon which was a little bonus so it was decorated :yay:

http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/DSCF1355.jpg
We even got to meet Chuck, the organist, and Pam had him play us a tune...how magical! I know I will be tearing up during my wedding that's for sure!

After seeing the wedding pavilion, in person, I knew that our ceremony had to take place there, thankfully Pam told me that it was available on August 8, 2011 at 5:00pm {I was ecstatic!!!}.

We then began our tour of reception sites, first up was the Nutcracker Ballroom at the Contemporary Resort.

This is an outdoor space that you can host a dessert party at the Contemporary...great view of the Magic Kingdom too!

Ballroom Walls, rug and chairs.

Pam showed us around the space but I didn’t get that “warm fuzzy feeling” so I knew this was not it. I let Pam know and she said that she really wanted me to see another site that she felt was a perfect fit. We then headed to Disney’s BoardWalk Resort which is home to the Promenade Ballroom. We pulled up to the BoardWalk and I began to smile from ear to ear, before even stepping foot inside!

http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/DSCF1393.jpg

Back to business!

Where were we?! Oh that's right...we just arrived at the BoardWalk...

Pam showed us the pre-reception location, which had an adorable patio attached, and the reception location.

Promenade Ballroom decor. It just so happens to coordinate with our wedding colors...Coral and Turquoise!!!

Not only was it beautiful but Disney’s BoardWalk was inspired by Atlantic City, New Jersey…how perfect since Rich and I have taken several trips there?!

Pam was excited that I liked the space but she wanted to show me one more site, the Grand Floridian, just in case the BoardWalk was not available. The ballrooms at the Grand Floridian were beautiful as well; however I still kept my fingers crossed for the BoardWalk!

http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/DSCF1364.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/DSCF1365.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/DSCF1366.jpg

We then headed into the other smaller room at the Grand Floridian...the Whitehall Room? Luckily they were setting up for a wedding (If you got married on 8/10/10 and had your reception here this is for you!)...

Check out the cake!

After our site tour we headed back to Franck’s to finish up our early planning session.

http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/CIMG5368.jpg

Pam checked on the BoardWalk’s availability while my mom and I flipped through some photo albums.

http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/CIMG5381.jpg

Pam returned with GREAT news, the BoardWalk was available!!! I then had some final questions for Pam and we concluded our early planning session. Pam congratulated me {again} on my engagement and gave me LOTS of paperwork and a really cute “Just Engaged” button...It was so exciting to get all the congratulations and free desserts (including a Mickey Premium Bar) that this gave us for the rest of our trip!

http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/Kristinella_photos/Button-Copy.jpg

Having this site visit and early planning session was so important and I am very thankful that I had it. If I had not met with Pam, in person, I would have booked the Nutcracker Ballroom at the Contemporary sight unseen. Thankfully I was fortunate enough to meet with Pam and she was introduced me to the PERFECT wedding reception location for our upcoming Disney Fairytale Wedding!

Happy Planning :wizard:

Thanks Sarah! When Pam took us to the BoardWalk I totally had to :worship: her :rotfl2:!

The Whitehall room was really nice! The bride even had the handmade chocolate Mickey Ears as favors which were at each guests place setting.
