Sony H55

I ordered my Cannon that was on sale a couple of weeks ago in Wal-mart. It arrived, I opened it and didn't like the battery compartment. It was made from cheap plastic and very hard to open. It was the Cannon PowerShot SX120IS. I returned it the next day after it arrived. I have a Cannon that I really like, but the battery compartment door is not closing properly and stays open a bit. I have gotten it to work, so it is holding me over, but I do need a new camera.
I was looking at the Sony DSC H55. Does anyone have that camera? If so, how do you like it? I see it takes an SD card or the memory stick. When using an SD card, does it have to be the Sony or can it be any brand? How is it taking flash pictures. Is there a long pause time in between each flash? That is the one thing that does bug me about my Cannon. It takes for ever for the flash to be in ready mode again.. TIA :goodvibes

I am curious about this camera too. I have played with it in the store and like it but I would love to see some images and hear from someone that owns it.

Hi, I recently bought the sony H55. Overall I do like it. It is my 3rd sony cybershot. I am looking at purchasing a DSLR, but still will use this to carry in my purse. It is sorta slow between pics with flash. There is a burst mode, that is handy, but you can't use the flash. For a point and shoot of that size it has a good zoom. The movies are nice, of course not going to have great sound. The panoramic feature is really cool, and I don't really think any of the other brands have anything like it. I do think the picture quality is good and mostly I have used it on auto.

I just bought this camera, but haven't had a chance to use it in Disney World yet. Has anyone used it at Disney World and how was it for taking pictures of the fireworks and the night parade?

I currently have the canon powershot A630 with with 8.0 mp and 4x zoom. Looking for something to up date it with. Would love a dslr, but seems to be our of my price range for now.

I saw both the 14.1 MP sony H55 and the canon 10MP SX120 IS, both for about $199 right now.

Does anyone know about either of them or which is better to go with, maybe even a better one? Hoping to get a new one before we leave for WDW and the cruise in oct.

Or is the one i have good enough?

I do not have the Sony, but it is getting pretty good reviews. I'd buy that one between the two.
