Just spending the morning sitting here filling out all the papers for the beginning of school. Just me and my checkbook. Two big brown envelopes arrived last Monday and each is stuffed with at least 20 pieces of paper. I have filled out four emergency forms. 2 for each child front and back, 2 internet access permission slips, 2 permission slips for pictures on the internet, PTA membership, PTA volunteer form, school voluteer form, Picture form, and all sorts of other stuff. I must have signed my name and address at least 50 times. This year I cheated. I used address labels where ever it asked for my address.
I really hate sitting down and filling it out. Takes too long, but it is a necessary evil.
I just wanted to whine!!!!!
Anyone else want to whine with me?

my daughter will be a sophmore and I hate the forms.
athletic choice forms
health forms
internet forms
driving permission
over night permission
newspaper permission
day trip form
charging permission at school shop
grandparent forms
etc.
you name it, they have a form for it.

Gladly! I am in high school so my mom makes me fill out all of my forms except for where she needs to sign. I got my HUGE packet in the mail this week, and I still need to fill them all out. Plus we have a foreign exchange student staying with us for the year and my mom told me to fill out all of her forms for her, too. I hate school registration!

I don't get those until after they start school, they usually bring them home the second day, the first day they bring home the candy sale catalog!!

I did that last week. My poor hand.:( I wish I was ambidextrous.:p
We get ours the night before school starts at the open house they host. I get more the actual 1st day of school (that was August 8 this year).

I forgot to mention the 2 athletic packet that I filled out last week. Another whine!
The checkbook gets less and less this time of year.
If it wasn't so early in the day I would get some cheese for my whine.:p

(I'd rather put a pic of wine instead of whine, hope that's ok;) )

I wish I could get mine early. When my kids start I have started teaching, so my time is limited--NOW I have all the time in the world. But they bring them all home first day of school. At least I called early this week and found out how much fees are so those checks are already written.
I like the address label idea!!! I doubt they would accept it on the emergency forms though, they are pretty darn picky about those.

I would like some of that whine and cheese. :D We haven't finished the many forms yet though. The one I hate most is the district's form that we have seen the letter that threatens us with all kinds of terrible things if DS misses any school for such things as vacations. I always refuse to fill it out for a while but eventually I give in. :D

Thank you for the bottle. Would anyone else care for a glass?
The cheese is excellent. The strawberries are so good.
Browneyes, you cater such a lovely Whine(wine) and cheese party.

We do all that paperwork at the end of the school year, so I luck out there. However, it won't be long and me and the checkbook will begin our journey of writing checks each week for lunch and after school care.
But I like the idea of the w(h)ine (zinfandel, my favorite) and cheese party! It would put me in alot better mood when writing all those checks!!;) :p

My mom dropped my "pink forms" off today.
But I registered for classes last April.
Let's have a cheese and whine party
Count me in. I'm the teacher who has to take up all of those forms after they have been signed. Try having close to 150 students, lets say with AT LEAST 4 forms each- that is 600 forms to file, turn in, etc. I know they are a pain, but most of them are required by the state and are for everyone's protection. :D

Oh Browneyes, my bottle is empty. May I have some more.
I just got back from helping the Athletic Boosters Membership chairperson. I need a drink fast.

Bonnie,
I know how you feel. Becky just brought home her order form for her nursing uniform (it has to be a special one) $150.00 for one uniform. Of course the scholarship won't pay for that. No wonder I don't want to pay for it either.

Yep...me, too. Of course, I know they are important. Hey, I even send my own forms home with my students  , but they sure are a pain to fill out. And while we are complaining...if the middle school asks me to buy one more thing I just might have to get a second job!

Browneyes, may I have a double, please? My DS starts college in two weeks, one more form and I may have a bonfire in the backyard with all the paper work. Oh yes, the checkbook--it has checks in it, but to write them you must have put money in the account right? He gets his books next week, I think the checkbook and I will disappear for a few days after to recover from a zero balance and writers cramp from signing my name. :p I'm ready for that drink now, pretty please

Just found out that all the high school athletes are suppose to sell 10 cards(filled with discounts) on Saturday and then the volleyball team is also selling candy and bath and body works stuff. This is ridiculous. I hate selling stuff. I don't like trying to sell to neighbors and friends because when their kids are selling stuff then I feel the need to buy from them and because of DH's job situation I just can't reciprocate.
I need more wine and cheese.

Without turning this into a fundraising debate...I agree. This is the one thing I am not looking forward to about school starting. I don't have the family or large neighborhood to draw from. I'd rather make a donation to the school.
