Wow, I haven't posted on the Dis in ages!
Okay, so there are quite a few VMKer's on FaceBook and some who play Wiz101. Not all are from here and not all of you are there, so I'll post this here! LOL
I'd like to know if anyone's interested in meeting on Wizard sometime this weekend to meet other players who need a little help leveling up before Celestia opens. Even if you'd like to just add new friends or old friends playing new wizards, drop me a note or post here what day and time would work for you and we'll try coming up with the time that works for everyone.

For me in the central time zone, 7:00 either night would be fine so far. That wouldn't make it too late then for the Eastern folks or way too early for the Western and Pacific people hopefully. :) (Of course the Pacific people may or may not be home by then, and I know personally I could handle eight just as easily.)

I'm a W101 player :) I'd love to meet some DISers. I have 18 wizards right now ranging from 7 grandmasters to numerous ones throughout the spiral. I am a former TT player that did all I could in that game before moving on to W101 last year. BTW, not sure if anyone knows, but there is an adult wizard clan. There are over 600 of us over 21 players and that's just the ones in the clan. I meet more adults every day that I play. See you in the spiral!

Green, I thought of something last night. The lake in the commons in Wizard City is usually VERY crowded now, in any realm. It might be a good idea to have us all meet in Golum Court or Unicorn Way at the statue. Those areas probably won't be near as crowded as the lake. Since they put the pet area near the lake now, I know my computer is having fits with the lag there. :)

Actually, it's only the prequests and a few ajustments that are on the test server. The last tower is very very difficult. Cheating monsters again... :eek:

IMO, cheating monsters should only be in side quests like BriskBreeze tower.

Oh and btw, we will soon be able to kick unwanted people out of our home.

Hi there! I'm new and my hub has been a member of the DISboards for a long time. I just discovered this Wiz101 group among you and got so excited! It's great to find adults who play the game!

I was just reading this excellent article (http://www.massively.com/2010/06/30/kingsisle-welcomes-massively-ravenwood-radio/)about Wiz101 today.

Does anyone else play with their kid/s? That's how I got started. My son is almost 10 and I started playing when he did and now I'm really hooked. We quest together sometimes but he's a little ahead of me now. I'm lvl 22 and he's at lvl 29. We play using crowns, though, and he's out of crowns until his birthday, so I'm catching up. :lmao: In any case, after he goes to bed, I really like playing with adults...'cause we're more like this...:surfweb:and less this...:cheer2:.

Jellyrolls just tried the test server quest. I'm not happy about the cheat bosses, JGoof. I agree, side quests, fine, but not for storyline quests.

Okay, I just took a peek at the test realm and started the quest for Celestia. Did fine solo and then, for the Warehouse, teamed up with 3 other Grandmasters. We were blown away by the 4th round of the boss battle. This is not a cheat, this is a "make it impossible" deal. I can see cheating maybe once or twice in a battle but this boss cheated every round multiple times. Unless they fix this, I don't see anyone making it to Celestia.

I've been reading the hints from people on the Wizard 101 central site. They are saying use plenty of storm shields and fire shields, and not to hit or kill the boss first. Kill the minions before you attempt him. Also do not trap him, just use blades. He throws out the fire meter spell AND the storm lord spell.

And, I do agree, just using this warehouse to move to the new land will be a pain. lol Just trying to kill those four monsters in the Crucible was bad enough by myself. My sister had to port in to help. But, I have since loaded a special deck for that battle and have won it once. I'm afraid they may not let anyone else port in for it, and I already know you can't port in for the warehouse! lol

i just got through the warehouse this weekend, after about a dozen tries. the cheats the bosses do in there are terrable, it was bad enough with the first boss crying like a baby *help me * taking OUR Turns and his little minion pulling out storm lord with no pips .then we get to the last boss he's even worse. when our life wizard {you need one in there} tried to heal us we'd hear *We can heal to* and the one minion would use rebirth on them, so we'd have to do it over until we finally killed off his minions, and what does the boss do, hits us with scarecrow every other round. But he did die a painful death and we got the broken spiral key..

i've seen where alot of ppl like this tower the way it is, i'm Not one of them, i don't mind a tough battle, just take the cheats away from the bosses and it will be fine

I saw those hints too. Looks like a Death Wizard using beguile is also very useful. Well, I'm a grandmaster Life so when the game goes live, I'll be glad to help out. Looks like we'll need several party sessions to help each other through like we did for Big Ben and Malistaire. House is built, I'm moved in, so should be around more. Any word on when this goes live? In the past test realm has lasted only a couple of weeks. See you all later!

I don't mind the bosses cheating occasionally but not every round and at such magnitude. If they can do that, I think we should be allowed to call for help too and have one of the teachers come help us.

Hmm, I hadn't heard they were throwing out scarecrows too. Sounds like everyone needs major shields, and one person to just throw out those. Good grief! lol

For those who may not have played in a few days, the test realm changes have taken effect on the live realm now.

I got to go through the MB tower finally last night, but we didn't make it. We had a heads up on the last room, but we kept being hampered by a two fellows that kept running into battle while I was still loading the room or my deck. Do keep in mind ALL players should run into battle together for everyone to have a turn! ;)lol But, we did come close, we had killed the rats and were working on the cat, I had just not had enough time to pip up unfortunately. Oh well...gives me a chance to repeat. At least there are not as many rooms in this tower as in Briskbreeze. :)

Notes:

1. Kill the rats (death guys first). Do NOT use any all around spells, kill each monster individually.
2. Try not to heal before killing the cat if at all possible. The other side can and will heal too. However, if you haven't touched the cat or boss yet, it really doesn't do them any good. lol
2. Kill the cat next. Watch though, they love to throw out that top balance spell, going after all of the players.
4. Then kill the boss. Take any tower shields and myth shields in you have with you. (And, do take out all of your all around spells, don't accidentally leave them in the deck like I did. lol They take up too much room in the deck)

I already know next Saturday night won't be good for me (feel free to go on anyway. lol) Friday would be better for me if we do set something up. My sister and I were Myth and Ice the other night, with the two other guys the same, myth and ice. I didn't know the last boss was myth or I would have put other spells in my deck. I basically loaded up on health, shields and blades on my regular deck and used boosted cards in my yellow deck for hits. I will load some non myth cards next time and make absolutely sure I have no all around cards in next time! lol

That would be great, but I don't think you can get in the warehouse if you have not done first part of the quest. I think we can't port inside.

Late getting in, I know. Yes, I can go tonight at 9:00 with my Life GM. I can also go tomorrow if that works better for everyone.

Did some more reading. Looks like a good strategy is for Life to keep hitting the final boss with Quench and the Cat with Entangle while the rest deal with the rats. I've got my Entangle stacked in my deck and picked up some Quench treasure cards.

It was pretty dreadful, wasn't it? Want to thank you too, Rosie, for helping us.

For those who still want to deal with it, for the final battle we discovered that Quench cast on the Boss is invaluable. Only trouble was I didn't buy enough treasure cards to carry through the entire battle (I'm Life so Quench was not one of my class spells). It is also a 2-pip spell so it might be helpful to have two wizards carrying/casting it while the other two focus on the Rats and then the Cat.

We did learn (thanks to the aforementioned Tavia), that you should not attack the Boss after the Cat dies right away. Need to get everyone healed up first. Briar Rosie had to cast the Tree twice and then I had to cast it once before we felt save enough to go.

This is a monstrous tower but definitely worth it from the challenge side of things.

We manage with Briar Rosie (GM Life), Gilroy (GM Death), myself (GM Life) and Tavia (GM Death) so it can be done without the heavy hitting damage schools of Storm or Fire.

Another thing, don't bother casting blades or shards, they will disappear as quickly has you cast them.

Next time I try it, I will also equip the death dispell card. After his minions die, he likes to cast Scarecrow a lot.

Next time I get 2 hours of play time, I will be glad to help other brave wizards. :wizard:

Yes, Death dispell at the end would be even more effective then Quench, I suspect. I'm game to go again too sometime.
