Not a very good day today

I know I dont visit as often as I should and Lord knows my scrapbooking this year has been non existant but I do try to stop by and post now and then. I wish todays post was an easier on for me to type...................

I woke up to find our dog Shadow had passed away during the night . He had been deteriorating the past couple days and we were afraid it would be a short time. He was an awesome dog that loved everyone. He will be missed by all of us.

I'm so sorry. It's so hard when a fur baby dies. They are a part of the family. I still miss my kitty who died 5 years ago. She had been a part of our family for 20 years.

Oh Squid I am so sorry for you loss of Shadow. I feel your pain, we had to put our beloved golden retriever, Popcorn, down when he was 12. Broke my heart into a bagillion pieces.

THE RAINBOW BRIDGE POEM


When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.




All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.




They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.




You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.



Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Just found this today!!! I was in the World when this happened.. I am so sorry to hear this.... He was just adorable.. I'm not a dog in the house kind of gal..but I would have made an exception for him... He could have come over any time!!!

Sweetie, he was an outside dog through and through. He would lay out in his kennel and let the snow drift up over him! He didnt like being inside for very long at all! That and the fact that he was HUGE (165 lbs) but thought he was a lap dog. Oh and when he shed .....................think an entire sheeps worth !

165 pounds! Yipes! He'd be like a pony compared to my 50 pound Dal! I just love looking at his picture. I'm glad you're doing better, but I know you'll always miss him. I miss my Dalmatian and it's been 4 years!
