Planning to go to vero beach next july. Because OKW is my home, we have to wait 7months to book the vacation. Has anyone had a hard time getting a reservation, even booking that early. I realize that OKW can accomadate lots more people and we are concerned that vero beach will fill up fast.

I don't think you will have a problem - but if you are worried - you can try and change your points with someone who has VB. on the renta/trade board on this site.

Spring break is really the demand time for VB - the temperature in the summer is hot.

I don't think that you will have a problem. OKW is our home resort and we have been able to get mid to late August reservations at VB every time we have tried (4), but I always do so at the 1st day of the 7 month window. We just returned from 5 nights at BWV and 2 at Vero Beach. We enjoyed them both.

Good luck!

Thanks for posing this question and thanks for the encouraging reply, Paul.

I was wondering the same thing. I will want/need at least a 2 bedroom and maybe a studio, too, at Vero next Aug 3 and 4. We are heading there to kick back before he head over to OKW for a week of Drum Corp finals.

We've been able to request an Ocean View Inn room at our 7-month window no problem. Once was 6/2001 and the other was 7/2002.

We tried booking at the 7 month window at VB for the first week in July(before adding on at VB) for a 1BR for 6 days, we only could get 4 days, we had to waitlist for the last 2 days, and book a studio. The waitlist never came through. So we like the extra space, and decided to go up to our other home(OKW) for the 1BR for the last 2 days.
As KimOhio has said, you "will fall in love with it". VB was completely sold out the first 2 weeks in July, while we were there. We couldn't even view an Inn Room or 1 of the Beach Cottages. So after seeing VB for the 1st time we decided to add on a few more pts there to get the 11 month window.
I am glad we have the 11 month window at VB and on-site at OKW.

We really don't want to fight the Disney crowds over Easter & thought about spending a few days at Vero (studio or 1 bedroom). Anyone know if its hard to book then at 7 month window?
