Love it! I looked at both cars - they're basically identical. I got the tribute because it's slightly more sporty looking. The escape had a smoother ride.

so does it drive nice? I have never had an SUV before and I am really excited !!!
I did test drive it and really liked it.

This was my first suv also. It drives nice, although not as smooth as some of my past sedans -- you're not getting a lexus or evan a taurus ride. But I think that's the case with most, if not all, suv's.

Also, it's a good size and can fit in all of the compact spaces in town. I tried other suv's and found that I couldn't fit some of them into my tiny parking space at work.

I have an Escape and I love it. I have had 2 Blazers before it and a Galant and I would have to say that I like the Escape the best. I get tons of compliments on it, it has a smooth ride and there is plenty of room in the backseat as well as the trunk. The only one on the lot at the time had ALL the extras so I have some stuff that I don't really need but I would have to say that it is worth every dime, very happy with it! The only negative is the gear changer, it gets in the way of the radio and also the ignition doesn't light up at night so it is hard to put your keys in. I say go for it!

Yeah that gear shifter is weird the way its sooo long but oh well. The key thing not lighting up is weird too.
I have a Mazda now and I noticed a couple things the SUV doesn't have...like a lighted makeup mirror (like I need it:rolleyes: ), map lights, and the not lighting up key hole thing.

I am excited to see it again tonight so I can test these things out.

oh......did any of you have to do any recalls??

thanks,
Kim

Nope, no recalls, the only problem I have had is the temperature gauge was faulty and wouldn't go off for about 10 minutes after my car had been started, I brought it to the dealership and they had it fixed in no time. Overall it is a great SUV and it was awesome during our past New England winter.

Kim, I test drove the Tribute and loved it. We ended up getting the Jeep Liberty and the main difference for us was just the location of the dealership (it's right near DH's office).

I love the Liberty too!
