How do you store your 35 mm picture negatives? Right now I have mine in the original sleeves in our security box at the bank. I wanted to try to organize them a little better. Any suggestions?

my photo developer gives me a little stickon card with my negatives, you stick the card to the strip of negatives, write the subject and the date on it, and then they go into a binder.
I'm in the UK, so you probably can't get the exact same system, but you could probably create something similiar, with strips of acid free card, and hermafix tabs.
you can see a picture of what i mean here (http://www.jessops.com/search/viewproduct.cfm?Product=JESNFBBLS4&CFID=213892&CFTOKEN=4481f82-61c241d5-b1bc-4b72-8428-c31191d45f26)

You can buy binders at your local photo lab. Or refills of neg sheets to use in a binder you already have.

I use CM's Negcare system. I used to just store them in the sleeves you get from the developer, but then I found out the sleeves aren't photo safe!! Now why would developers use something that isn't photo safe? I know it costs more, but jeez!! So, just a word of warning, make sure your storage choice is photo safe-af-lf and pvc free.

Lisa Who told you that? I work at Black's (a photo lab in Canada) and all our stuff (including our neg sleeves) are photo safe.

I'm interested in hearing how others are storing their negatives too. I have an idea that I might try-- when I get my photos developed I pay $1 more and get the preview sheet. That's a 4x6 photo with all of your photos on it in miniature. So I'm thinking about storing my negatives in the sleeve they come in behind this preview sheet in a regular photo album. That is, if the negative sleeve is photo safe-- I can't imagine that they're not!

Oh man, I want to say I read it in one of the scrapbook magazines. I honestly can't remember!! Ya know, perhaps the camera specialty stores that develop - like Black's - do have photo safe negative sleeves. Maybe it was just developers say through Wal-Mart, Walgreens, etc. I guess you can't believe everything you read. Now how on earth do we get the correct info????
