Melbourne DisMeet: Friday, July 16 2010 - DisMeet photos update

The lovely Shushh and family will be in Melbourne and we thought it would be a great idea for an Aussie DisMeet.

Date: Friday, July 16 2010
Time: 12 noon
Place: Location: Tomodachi.
Address: On3 (level 3), Melbourne Central Shopping Centre

The best way to get to this place is walk up on Swanston Street to the corner of LaTrobe street. At that corner, there are escalators heading up. Go up both flights of escalater (and avoide the obvious temptation to head to the level 2 foodcourt at the top of the first flight) and the restaurant should be straight ahead of you.

If you are catching the train in; or have approached from the shopping mall, then head towards the LaTrobe Street end. Where the Waltzing Matilda clock and Shot tower is, there are escalators heading up. Go up until you get to Level 3. You should be able to find it....

If you could post a response and let me know if you are coming, then I will have a rough idea of how many people to make a tentative booking for.

I'm counting 7 for lunch at this stage....shushh and 4, makes a family of 5; zaccy and myself.

I did a little bit of recon this week...naturally I had to personally test out the food (sorry no food porn).

I'm thinking that we should meet at tomodachi, a japanese place that looks horrendously expensive via the website...but they do lunch specials. There is a sushi train; and the bento boxes..3 selections. Chicken teriyaki and a prawn and something else (apologies, I've had a busy week at work and my mind is mush)!

Bento boxes are $12.90. I tested the chicken teriyaki and it was okay.

Hello all, sorry I've been a bit of a hermit lately. Since our return from Melbourne, all I've had a chance to do is upload photos for the photography forum...

Anyway I digress! PrincessInOz and Zaccy, I had a wonderful time meeting up with you. PriincessInOz thanks for posting the photos! If any of you ever do come to Sydney, do let me know and we can try to meet up again. We had a blast in Melbourne. It is such a beautiful city.
