It has probably been brought up before but I think a Disney "horror story" forum would be fun to have. I was just venting about the horrible experience we had at Pete's garage in the previous thread and it got me to thinking.
I don't hate Disney and the point would not be for bashing Disney but more of a fun antidotal "holy crap this happened to me!" at Disney.
It would be funny to hear everyone else's experiences so I think this forum would be better placed under the just for fun category.
The only other proper place that existed that I could see was the Trip reports which doesn't seem quite right under the trip and planning category.
But if a forum like this exists let me know or otherwise what do you guys think?

A couple of years ago I took my son for the first time. We stayed at Pop Century and when we left to come home the WDW bus driver thought he was in the casting for the next summer blockbuster. He thought he could make it through the security gate before it came down. The arm came down and busted out the first two and half windows on the passenger side of the bus. Luckily no one was hurt, but we were told that a Disney rep would greet us at the airport. Unfortunately the person who greeted us promptly had to take care of something and never returned. Oh well.

We were on a bus from Pop to MK & our bus hit a turkey that walked onto the road. The turkey was killed & it damaged the bus.

In 2006 (the cursed trip) went up to ride the Astro Orbiter in TL. There wasn't a line or anything. We get up there and head to the ride. As we walk every step of ours goes "crunch!” Looking down the ground is absolutely covered in these little clumps of crusty piles. It takes us a few moments to realize that it is pigeon crap! I mean every square inch of the ground is absolutely covered with it. You could not walk around and not "Crunch"!
It would have taken hardly any time for the employees to get a broom and sweep it out but they were happy to let the guests wade through crap the whole day. The rockets were coated as well and you didn't even want to touch them. It looked like the cleaned the seats out at least, that or the turds were pulverized by the riders into a fine dust and blew away.
I guess the birds roost up in the rafters and the orbital structure all night. I wish I had a picture as my description probably doesn't do it justice. I've been to parks and stuff that were coated but I've never seen anything like this. It was completely disgusting.

Is that where the supply fou Toluca Legs Turkey is from?

I once had a very comical ride back from Tom Sawyer's Island. Our raft driver clearly didn't know what he was doing. It took five or six tries before he had us parked and each try resulted in a rough bump against the dock. He looked like Howdy Doody. So, anytime anything bad happened for the rest of the trip, the joke was that Howdy Doody was behind it.

Wow, I finally thought of one! Our last trip was in September 2009 to Disney World. We went on the Jungle Cruise, as usual, except our skipper was going too fast right before the elephants. Right through there when you first see the elephants you'll see one squirt water and think you'll get wet. Since she was going so fast everyone got blasted from that elephants trunk. It's not a light pressure, it reached me on the far side of the boat! I was soaked the rest of the day. On the bright side, it was probably the most fun I had laughing at the last joke "If you loved the ride, my name is Sally, but if you didn't (sorry!) my name is Jane and I work at Space Mountain!"

This one I definitely cannot blame on Disney as it can't control the weather, but it certainly was horrific! On my second trip when I was 5, we were exiting Epcot because we saw storm clouds coming in and we were probably tired. Well, as we were walking under the Spaceship Earth, lightning hit it! The resulting crash was deafening and me, my 6 year old cousin, and my 8 year old brother (who was deathly afraid of loud noises) freaked out! Well, basically everyone around us did because it was so dang loud! Luckily, I don't think anyone was hurt. I just can't imagine what it was like INSIDE the ride.

So our worst trip was in December 2006. We had forgotten the parade was being taped and found ourselves on Main Street in total chaos. As DH wheeled the double stroller down the sidewalk, a cm shouted at him to move it along when he stopped to prevent hitting a child who had jumped infront of him. The CM was persistant that DH move his stroller out of the way when infront of us was at least 2 doubles stopped in the middle of the road.

Same time, same place. We had stopped in Liberty Square around 2pm to have an ice cream break before the afternoon parade. Both girls were eating their ice cream when a CM told us we had to move because we were in a handicap section. We quickly jumped up to move and in doing so I had knocked the ice cream out of DD4's hands who then dropped it onto her pants. I quickly grabbed napkins to clean her up. The same CM came over to us and said, "I told you to move your stroller out of this area because it's handicap and you are not." Can I just say I was very shocked at the rudeness of this CM?! I understand the holiday season is stressful, but we certainly were not planning on staying there, but a little understanding would have gone along way.

It's safe to say we will NEVER be back during the Christmas season.

LOL,
While pretty funny, being slammed over and over into the dock could be pretty horrific. Might have to start thinking about swimming...

Please, feel free to be back during the Christmas season. And to quietly and calmly do things even if it takes somewhat more time that the CM expects.

Feel free to go to Guest Relations and file in writing a complaint RE rudeness from CM's any time you encounter that.

OT: If you feel you need extra time to get settled boarding the airplane, ask the gate agent only once if you may board earlier. When you do board, quietly and calmly get settled whether or not your request was granted.

Our horror story was in Disneyland in November (2006 / 2007... not sure). The park was unusually crowded -- even the CM's were shocked. We were supposed to meet up with my sister so we were trying to navigate our way around the hub and it was PACKED... seriously PACKED with people waiting for the parade / fireworks. Not having been to DL very much, I didn't realize they invoke a "one way around the hub" to exit the park. (I have panic attacks in large crowds so I needed to get out of there fast.)

We had my daughter in a stroller and I apparently started walking the wrong way. A CM stopped me and said, "MA'AM!!! You can't go that way!!" I said, "I am trying to leave." He yelled again, "YOU CAN'T GO THAT WAY!" He didn't explain their "one way" system nor did I ask... I just needed to get out of there. Other guests were kind enough to assist me (lifting the ropes, etc.) to let me pass and they were yelling back at the CM about letting me leave (which I was able to).

I realize there are rules; I get it, and I don't mean to sound like I'm entitled to special treatment. But the set of circumstances (my panic and his less-than-helpful attitude) made this a horrible experience for me.

My Disney horror story- My mom broke her foot in the Harmony Barbershop during my son's first Disney trip and first haircut. She limped down to the first aid place by herself (told us to stay for son's haircut- wasn't really offered help by the cm's at the shop). Had a great nurse at first aid though! Was sent to some horrible medical facility (was driven there by Disney for free though) that told her she had to stay completely off her foot. Was driven back to the resort by a ninny (not a cm to my knowledge) who dropped her out of the medical van, nearly breaking her neck!

Then, when we left her at the resort to go to MNSSHP- the fire alarm kept going off in our room! She was calling me screaming and thinking she was going to die in the building while we were waiting in a long line to see Mickey with no way out. Even if we could have left, we wouldn't be back to the resort for at least an hour with waiting for buses and such. I told her by that point she would already be burnt to a crisp anyway and to please quit screaming at me and to call the front desk instead... (and yes, she is overly dramatic.....). Turns out our fire alarm had issues and needed new batteries... Its funny too look back on the fire alarm bit, but it so ruined my night and I am sure hers too.

PS- We got home and the dr here looked at her x-rays and said they were wrong, she could have walked with a brace.... :headache: and my mom was horrid at crutches, laughable on the scooter and couldn't drive for doo dah!) At least I have a cute pic of her on her scooter with my DS!

On my first trip to WDW my father died. I had a message when I checked in at the hotel. He was back at home. The rest of the trip was a bit of a blur.

On my second trip to WDW due to a surprise pregnancy I found myself experiencing 24/7 morning sickness. Then hurt my knee. My memory of Epcot that trip was being pushed around in a wheelchair while suffering from nausea and freezing (cold snap). I was unable to do much that trip.

My 3rd trip on the other hand was the best ever

On my list trip (for Expedition Everest Challenge), I used DME to get to the resort. My flight was delayed, so I wasn't on the bus until after 9:20. We were at the airport for a while, but I think we left at about 9:45. The driver didn't say a word when he got on - just closed the doors and took off. We stopped at Coronado Springs, then Animal Kingdom Lodge, then I was the only one left on the bus (I was staying at All Star Sports). When the driver got back on the bus after AKL, he started grumbling, not too loud, but loud enough that I could hear him. At first, it wasn't clear what he was saying, but he got louder and louder, eventually talking about how he wasn't a fan of Disney, that Mears was the operator of the bus service and had gotten a great deal from Disney, but didn't care about their drivers, that he'd voted to unionize, but it hadn't happened, etc. While it's not exactly a "horror" story, it was not the most magical experience I've had at WDW.

I am surprised that Disney sub'ed this out to Mears (for this very reason). One time on our Magical Express, the bus driver told a "joke" (something about Tigger going "Pooh" or something stupid like that). To me, it was TOTALLY "un-Disney" to be telling that joke. It wasn't vulgar, but slightly "off-Disney-color" if that makes sense.

I wonder if Disney will take the DME over eventually.

It's unfortunate he has a job. I would of reported it to DME. While you didn't like it I'm sure others wouldn't like to hear it either.

I suspect Disney doesn't operate DLC because unlike the resort transport, DME leaves the property.

The only bad experience my family ever had with a CM was, like, ten years ago. We were supposed to be staying at Shades of Green, but when we got there there was no room available. They then placed us at the Contemporary at the same price-in the wing where the DVC is now. Anyway, when we got there the guy at the front desk was just terrible to my father. Something about how much the hotel cost and how we should be paying more. Took us a while to sort it all out. It was kind of a big deal to my dad, being able to stay there- when he was a kid his dad told him to look at the hotel and that my father would never stay there, because that's where rich people stayed. But the man was just horrible. Well, my mother says he was. I was about 8 and hanging out in the arcade, I think.

The only other incident was when my friend and I were walking at HS near Beauty and the Beast senior year high school band trip. My friend was wearing flip flops. Some small child was sitting on top of her stroller or something and threw up. It got all over my friend's foot. We spent a good 20+ minutes in the bathroom so she could wash it and then cover it with sanitizer.

Oh! And the nurse at AK was fantastic. I managed to get sunscreen and sweat in my eye right when I got to the park and didn't have any eye drops, and she was very sweet and patient. Helped flush out my eye and gave me a few little things of eye drops to help throughout the day.

Then there are our typical family vacation things- bring my grandfather's pop-up down with us and my dad breaks the key in the door, thunder storms bad enough to shut down the park every time we go to a water park, et c. Just things like that.

So, no real horror stories... :P

I did report it to the front desk at the hotel. The manager said he was going to contact the DME manager about it.

I have two. One is funny and the other one scared us to death, the first one was our 1st trip as a family DD was 3 and DS was 18 months, we were at DTD eating at McD's, we ate outside because the weather was so nice, while we were getting ready to eat I put DD chicken nuggets and fries in the chicken nugget container and put it of the table while we were fixing DS food a bird (white birds that are all over the place) came down and picked up DD's whole container of food and landed and started to eat the food! Needless to say we were a little shocked. Luckily DS doesn't eat that much and we just gave her some of his food. The second one was we were watching the MK stage show and when it was over DD (5) was sitting on my shoulders and was I trying to put her down and she got excited to see the charaters and she fell from my waist area and landed on her hands and knees and hit her head on the concrete. Went to the nurse and she was fine, and has a nice bump on the forehead in the pictures for the rest of the week!

I have had a few not so great moments at Disney, but the wonderful ones far outweigh those....
However, I had taken a friend of mine to Disney for her first trip - celebration of her divorce being final! We left fantasmic a few minutes early to grab a bus over to AKL - we had reservations at BOMA. This would be my first time there!
We got on the bus, and it got pretty full. As it was waiting in line to leave the bus stop area, this car came down the lane and WHAM!! Right into the side of the bus! I mean, did it really think it would win?
We ended up having to sit there for over an hour while they seperated the car from the bus (no one was hurt, thank goodness!), and a few Disney representatives came onto the bus to take statements and written accounts.....
Yup, we were late to our dinner....but they still sat us within minutes and we had a good dinner. Took a cab back to our hotel though!

The worst that I've got is several years ago at a Magic Kingdon E-Ride Night, my younger brother's lap bar came open on Thunder Mountain. We told the cast member working, but he didn't seem too concerned. :confused3

My worst trip was August 2008. We were staying at French Quarter and had landed late and didn't arrive to the hotel until 1-2am. The first incident on that trip was as we were walking up the steps with our luggage to get to our room, the steps must have been recently washed with soap but no wet floor signs were out. I ended up slipping when I stepped on a soapy spot and falling down several steps and scraping up my legs. When we reported it once we got into our room (out of concern of someone else slipping) we were told that we must have missed the sign that it was definitely there - never once did the cast member ask if I was ok, or even apologize. By that time we were so tired we just went to bed and figured we had gotten through to a “bad” cast member.

The next situation was while boarding Jungle Cruise, a group of people pushed from behind and actually pushed me forward so that my head bumped up against something that was hanging from the top of the boat (I can't remember if it was a light or speaker). The cast member witnessed this, or at least part of it, and continued to make a joke about bumping heads on the boat and paying attention to where you were walking. I couldn't believe that not only did the cast member not check to make sure I was ok, or say something to the guests that pushed me, but that he actually proceeded to use me as a joke! I was in shock as I got off the boat, and it bothered me so much that even though I have been back since, I haven't gone back on (I know..perhaps a bit of an overreaction but it just brings back bad memories!!)

During that trip was also when the buses were crazier than ever. This was my 6th trip in 5 years and it had never been so bad. Three separate occasions at Downtown Disney we got pushed into the middle of a heard of people and got trampled as we were getting on the bus - after being some of the first people in line to get on a bus. Two of those occasions I got hurt - once my knee was taken out, and the second, and more serious, I was knocked up against the bus and hit my head. When we voiced our concerns (directly after each incident), the manager on duty at PO French Quarter (where we were staying) just brushed it off. They would always say something about the new bus schedule and leave it at that. After the first, and then second incident, we even spoke to the cast members at Downtown Disney and asked them what was going on and how come more buses were not coming if this seemed to have been a regular occurrence. Their responses were all similar about the "new system" and that people shouldn't push to get on the bus. When we asked how they were enforcing that, since obviously they weren't, we were told that sometimes security was brought in. Obviously we can understand crowds and even the occasional pushing and shoving, but what was more upsetting was how the cast members dealt with the problems – they simply didn’t. I left that vacation with such a bitter taste that it was really hard for me to even consider going back again...but, I'm a Disney addict..so I guess I’ll just be taking the good with the bad and hope that this was a rare occurance and future trips will only have positive memories!

This past trip was a little odd...while I wouldn't categorize it as a horror story, it wasn't as nice as previous visits. And I will say none of it was Disney's fault, it just happened there lol. We arrived in the middle of a howling rainstorm, which should have been my first clue. Then we find out we're staying at the farthest reaches of Ranchos at CSR, which is as far from a parking lot as you can get! Ack. We decide to go to the park anyway (it finally quit raining) where we almost witnessed at fight at Fantasmic and then a lady got into it with our bus driver on the way back to the resort because of overcrowding. Good times. The middle of the trip was fairly uneventful, except that it rained every day, but I can deal with that.

On our last day at the parks, after waiting in line for almost an hour and a half, we were informed that a line had broken on Toy Story Midway Mania and that the ride was closed down until further notice. My youngest was gutted, because that was the thing he really wanted to do and he wanted to save the best for last. That'll teach us.

On our last day at the resort, DH lost his keys, and after a good 2 hours of fruitless searching and waiting for people in housekeeping to call us back, etc. etc. he finally decided to flag down a maintenance man to borrow a tool with which to break into my truck. Luckily, he's a Nissan mechanic and has experience breaking into Nissans lol. ("What? Pay a locksmith $100 to do what I can do in the same amount of time for free?!") The keys have never turned up. Hoping for slightly better luck next year!

Gawd,
My poor wife went in there once to take our daughter to the bathroom. When she flushed the toilet, after she was done, it completely splashed my wife in the face standing fully up.
She almost lost her lunch and was green for the rest of the day. I'm glad to hear we're not the only ones with a bad experience. How could they let those bathrooms become so terrible?!
That whole trip was cursed anyway. Everything went wrong maybe to the point here we didn't enjoy going to DW!

Okay - I have a Disney Horror Story - or should I say Horror Day! At the time (2002) my DS was 4 and my DD was not quite one. We were in Animal Kingdom just off of Kali River Rapids - I was putting the baby in the stroller and my son was standing next to me. When I turned around he was gone - no where in sight! Typical mother I freaked out! Long, Long story short - Disney did an excellet job locking down the park - no one in or out until I was reunited with my son - a little over an hour later. So emotonally drained we head back to our cabin in the campground because we needed to put a really bad day behind us - but no that would be too easy! There had been a thunderstorm that day and as we walked up to the cabin I pointed out all of the tree limbs on the porch - which made us look up - you guessed it - a tree right through the middle of the cabin!!!! Again Disney did an excellent job of packing all of our stuff, because they obviously were not letting us inside, and moving it to a new cabin. They also gave us fast passes for just about every ride in the Magic Kingdom. To this day - my DS is now 12 and my DD is now 8, my son constantly reminds his sister to stay close to mom in Disney World because he doesn't want her to get lost too.

It took me a while to think of one and another thread reminded me of this. I was with my family going on spring break and we were driving to the big city that had an airport. Still out in the country we were on a fairly busy highway coming up to a T in the road. Still about 2 or 3 hundred yards from the stop sign there were a brother and sister trying to cross the road. Traffic was going a little under 50mph right here. The kids about 7-9yo look right, the sister looks left, the brother seeing it's clear on the right runs into the road.

He runs right into the way of the car infront of us. By some luck the car swerved a tiny bit but still smack. The lady driving screeches to a halt jumps out looking white as a ghost. The sister didn't know what happen but the boy gets up. Somehow he didn't get hit by the car he ran into the side of it. He was a little banged up but mostly in shock. The lady driving the car walked him back to his parents at the gas station off the road.

We continued on to the airport and WDW.

This is just a tiny incident...

We went in January of 1999. The park was virtually empty. I was with my parents and friend during winter break from college. So we stopped somewhere in Fantasyland, I can't remember where and I bought a soft pretzel. We were standing near Dumbo when a FLOCK of seagulls attacked. One slammed into my head- you wouldn't think those things are heavy, but it was-like getting hit in the back of the head with a clawed sack of potatoes- and they stole my whole pretzel- even the paper wrapping:sad2:. I can't imagine if it had been a little kid. I think of my 3 yr DS now. He would have been on the ground, bleeding and in tears- searching for the pretzel that was gone without a trace.

I have a son who is Autistic. On a trip we pulled in after a 9.5 hour drive, and we rushed into the room, threw our stuff down, sprawled out on the bed and did our usual "We're HERE!!! Fall backwards on the bed, stretch our van curved bodies, and then UP and out the door for a dinner ressie at Boma.
Boma is of course a buffet. Now my son at the time was pretty good about not doing anything stupid at buffets. But thi0 time he did some really weird things. Like for instance, he came back from the buffet with 3" tall pile of shaved watermelon rind! (Yummy i will add) I explained to him that he would never be able to eat that much, and instructed him to separate a little and let the waitress take the rest back. Each return from the buffet yielded weirder and weirder selections, often in huge quantities. I tried my best to help him select tiny amounts of many items rather than huge amounts of items that may mess his system up. It just wasn't working this night. As we are stepping ONTO the bus to Magic Kingdom (EMH NIGHT) he informs me that he needs to go to the bathroom. Now we have probably ALL been there. Little Johnny or little Sally says they have to go potty. You say "We have waited in this line for 45 minutes!!! We're getting on the bus!!!"
We were a long walk from a bathroom when the bus pulled up, and I said NO, we're going to MK. There are bathrooms at the entrance. Just hold on a few.
As we all sit down on the bus the smell starts to fill the air, and we know WE are not going to have a magical night.:sick:
We endure the ride with the entire bus full of people; all looking as green as us, all smelling the same thing, and my son looking like he wants to cry.

OK HERE IS WHERE THE STORY TAKES A POSITIVE TURN!!!
But not quite yet actually. We proceed to the bathrooms slowly, and my son then makes the biggest mess in there that anyone has ever known. Remember he is Autistic. He's about 8 years old, but he's not prepared for something like this. He destroyed the place to put it nicely, and people are making jokes and such about the smell, and laughing loudly, and yelling things under the stall, you wouldn't believe how immature people can be. I grab a nearby CM, who deserves a HECK of a RAISE, and he very calmly handles the matter. As I help my son clean the stalls, floor, and himself, the CM hand washes my son's socks, underwear, shorts, and shirt. Yes, you read that right, the CM hand washed those things. He had a small arsonal of cleaning solvents and sterile stuff. He put each piece of clothing into a sanitary plastic bag, and twists it all up and ties it shut. He then escorts me into the MK to a gift shop where I bought my son a pair of really expensive, and rather plain looking pair of shorts. I would have preferred to spend the $50 on a nicer pair of shorts, but given the circumstances, I'll take the choices I'm given. Noted NEVER buy shorts at WDW. They aren't anything special, and are expensive.
We then get the next bus back to the POP where he takes a shower, gets all cleaned up, and we called it a night.

The story isn't over. This happened 2 more times. Once at Ohana, and once at a third place. It happened on 3 separate trips.

The moral of the story is if your going to eat unusual food (something we are all accustomed to at my home, because I cook spicy hot foods from all over the world) try to watch your children at a buffet bar. All 3 incidents happened at a buffet bar. The second (at Ohana) wasn't all his fault. We ALL got sick that night, and my wife told me later that the same exact thing almost happened to her immediately after the meal. I as well spent some time admiring the tilework on the floors in the Ohana restaurant. I think we all got bad food that night. All 4 of us went straight to the room and all 4 of us fought over the bathroom the remainder of the night.
At the Ohana incident, Disney escorted us in a Ford club wagon rather than making us brave a bus. All 3 times disney went out of their way to make things right and especially the first CM, was a real hero. The CM at Ohana told me that it happens a LOT, and it's often GROWN UPS!!! Its not always children with special needs, it's often perfectly healthy adults. And he went on to say its often far worse than our experience. He said it goes with working with the public.

[QUOTE=Katekins13;37100011]

QUOTE]

There is a joke in the Jungle Cruise speech about hitting your head on the speaker, so if that was it, it's not personal, though if I worked there I would've probably skipped that joke or found away around it, if they are allowed to, or at least check to see if you were okay.

My Sis and I took our kids back in 03- quick trip to Contemp.... While we are at breakfast at Chef Mickeys we look over and see a family of 5 or 6 at a round table near the middle- and Mom is arguing with maybe 5 or 6 yr old son. He doesn't want to eat this, doesn't want to eat that, etc...now he's whining about how he doesn't want to eat pancakes- kinda loud. :sad2:
Next thing you know- she stands up with the plate (these are heavy buffet plates- mind you) of pancakes and launches the thing right at his head. :scared1::scared1:Then she goes ballistic and starts launching other plates of food from their table around the room- but in his general direction. :sad2::sad2:We saw one plate smash the wall not far from a highchair with a kid in it!:scared1::scared1: Everyone in the restaurant- including us- was frozen in shock! Then, I guess because we were not far from the kitchen, we hear a CM call into the radio, something like "Code 53, Code 53!!!" These Disney CM's start showing up out of nowhere and just plucking the kids from her table right out of their chairs and taking them to a back room. The mother stormed off...and left the restaurant! The Dad was just sitting there amid all the devastation until a CM took him back with the kids. By this time the other parents and diners were very vocally upset with the food that had landed on their kids and on their tables... I'm pretty sure Disney comped quite a few meals that morning!
I'd never seen anything like it- and never since!:eek:
Something Scary to Think About-----That this happens so often that Disney has an alert code and plan of action------???????:scared1::scared1:
Bye the Bye- A team of CM's showed up right after the huisband was led away, and they had that table and the surrounding area immaculate within like 10 minutes. They even seated another family at the same table before we left. It was all very surreal.
I guess this is a Horror Story about the dangers of dining at Disney and the psychosis that can sneak up on some parents. :confused3:confused3
The Disney CM's handled it very well.

a castmember at star tours told my parents to go back home as they werent welcome! they didnt belong there

wel my mum phoned me back in the uk really upset

I called the customer service at mgm and played holy hell with them, imagine being told that! how many people from the uk visit wdw?
they were very appologetic, told my mum to go make a formal complaint as she had the cast members name, plus had the contact number of a lovely american couple who witnessed it.

luckily it was all sorted, my parents were happy with an apology they were offered passes for the next day but they refused as they hold annual passes

fortunatly for that cast member I wasnt there in person, Im proud to be from the uk, as Im sure most people are proud of their home nation.
plus I wouldnt dream of insulting a person like that

-when our stroller got stolen at the studios ,and dumped later on with the backpack emptied (it was just a diaperbag anyway)

No matter where you vacation there will be problems. Yes we have had our share of problems, some where real bad but we still love Disney World and hope and pray to return every year. These where individual events that happened over the chorse of 6 trips in as many years. We learn from these trips and adjust for future trips! Disney is still the place where dreams come true!

I have a few things that has happened over the last few years. The smallest thing was; We arrived at Boma's on our first night early and asked if we could be fitted in early from when our reservation was. They said sure but it would be about 30 min. So I waited 20 min and asked if we only had 10 more min because both my husband and son had meds to take and they would need to eat. They said we where next on the list, so my husband went in the bathroom took his shot. Long story short, an hour later my son threw up all over the floor in the waiting area and my husband fainted due to sugar low.

Then one year my husband fell out of the tube at the crushin gushin. Dislocated his shoulder.

Next we went to the MVMCP about 2 years ago. Was at the park all day and it was three times more crowded during the "hard ticket" event than during regular hours. We missed the shows because we couldn't cut threw the crowd. Then when we where trying to find a spot for the parade, a lady in front of use about early 50's and my 8year old son at the time got pushed down stepped on and stomped by the crowd. My very large husband yelled at the crowd and grabbed my son up and helped the lady up with her family. No CM's around helped. We took both of them to the first aid and they had scraps and my son had a huge bruise on his hip. They put it down that they triped and not that they where stumped on by the missed handled crowd control. My husband got a firm warning that if he used that language( he told people to open there damn eyes and get the hell out of the way) again he would be asked to leave the property with no refund. If your child was getting stomped into the ground you might say something strongly too, to get people to move! So we payed over 60.00 a piece to get assulted and threatened! I wrote the compated email system and got no response ever! I will never go to the party again!

Not for young children to read!

The third thing happened at the studios about three years ago. My son got sick after riding rock'n coaster for the first time. My husband took him to the mens room to get him cleaned off and use the bathroom. I was sitting on the wall, when about 10 min later my son comes running out holding his pants up (did not have time to button them) screaming and crying. Then about 30 sec. later I see two men holding my husband and two other men holding another man screaming call security. My husband was beyond angry and the men where saying,"Calm down he isn't worth it, we saw, we're with you, he is going to jail, your son is ok,look, look" My husband calmed down and came to me and held my son so tight I thought he was going to break him. Seems that the other man kept looking at my son's "area" while he was peeing, my husband told him to stop, then the guy said, "no, you can't make me" licked his lips and then said to my son "I would love to .... ". (to graphic)My son grabbed his pants and ran out and my husband was going to kill him. We where so blessed we did not send my son in by himself and that the guy did not touch him. Luckly the bathroom was very crowded and there was alot of angry father's who had my husband's back. Security handled the situation, and yes the guy was a reg. sex offender and was put in jail.
We have been back since but no matter how old we get we use companion bathrooms. Please read this and remember that where ever there is kids there is people wanting to hurt them too!

In 2007 my family visited WDW and on one night leaving EPCOT the bus driver got LOST! We were supposed to return to Pop Century, but we went everywhere but! Instead of "asking" for help via the two way radio, he just kept riding around! At one point we were in an almost empty parking lot, and it became slightly scary. Finally he turned around, got back on the Disney roads, when all of us on the bus saw another bus with the Pop Century banner on it. IN UNISON EVERYONE ON THE BUS SHOUTED FOLLOW THAT BUS!!!! Hows that for a story?:hippie:

You should have gone to the buffet the second time to supervise him. Taking stuff back is not allowed, and wasting it is a sin.

Should have immediately and quietly asked for a bunch of fast passes instead, which would have been much more useful. Complimentary admission passes tend to be of miniscule value unless you are visiting only for a day or two.

Write again, using snail mail. And yes, your husband does need to watch his language, both orally and in writing. Although (too late for anyone now) only one with a Ph.D. in English might have been able to interject it, it should have been put down they where stumped on but by the missed handled crowd control not put down (sic).

And, the larger you are, the less flamboyant the profanity you can get away with before you are considered threatening.

All my horror stories are dealing with Mears. I have many, one is that when DH and I flew down for our Disney wedding I was staying with my parents at the grand floridian he was staying with his parents at POP the first 2 nights before the wedding and mears would not let us get on the bus! Dh argued with the guy for 2 hours, my parents argued with him, and even the manager at the GF argued with him! Finally the manager at the GF said that he will send us a private car to drive us to his hotel, after this the mears manager said well I'll let them on the bus right now but I'm charging them 40$. So we got on the bus and the GF payed the 40$ for us. Mears was EXTREMELY rude saying "We don't let every free loader on our bus for free you know." Uhm, FREELOADER?!?! we are staying at Disney for 2 weeks at a Deluxe resort and getting married here in 2 days!!! Then when Dh said "I understand people don't get on for free but at some point common sense has to take over and let you know that we are not trying to scam anyone." to which the guy from mears responded "Yah, I could let you on the bus at any time but I'm not going to."

Another time on our way home using the "magical" express we had another not very disney encounter with the bus driver. He dropped off a foreign family of 5 at their stop and unloaded all their bags from under the bus. When they walked away without tipping he screamed at them "You know I take tips! Look at all of those bags!" They pretty much ran away from him. So he gets back on the bus and starts pulling away, out of nowhere he slams on the breaks and opens the door. He gets off the bus and screams the F word as loud as he can then steps back on and drives away!!! Dh and I were terrified of this lunatic. While he is driving you can hear him swearing under his breath, we were sitting about 5 seats behind him, as well as other families behind us. At our stop we didnt have any bags to unload and ran off as fast as we could and went straight to the desk to speak to someone. The manager was pretty shocked and said he would talk to him right away.

OMG, that is HORRIBLE!! I am so sorry your son had to experience this. Very glad your DH was there and nothing further happened. Your post should be required reading for all those who think parents worry too much about sending their children into the bathroom alone. My son is 8 now, and he will go alone, but usually he goes with at least one friend or if totally alone, I'll stand outside and talk to him. Luckily, in Disney, my DH can go with him.

Just like everyone else, most of our experience were "Disney Quality" with the exception of when we went to Disney World in December of 2009 for my DD 6th birthday. Unfortunately we found out after booking that the Pop Warner Cheerleaders and Football players were going to be there. We stayed at ASM resort, where all of the Cheerleaders were. Some of them were really nice, and had great chaperones who made sure that they were well behaved and inside at curfew. However, there were quite a few who had 1-2 chaperones for squad of 25 girls. My daughter got knocked around in the pool by these girls, and then when I said something, the chaperone got mad at me. Mind you, there were 20 girls between the ages of 10-14, and my daughter was 5 at the time, and not the best swimmer. My children also learned a spectacular new vocabulary of 4 letter words that are not what we use at home, or Disney appropriate. (You can use your imagination) It was utter insanity on the busses also, when we tried to get back to the resort at the same time as these girls. Pushing, shoving, trampeling, cussing and intoxicated chaperones were the norm with this group there. I was actually told by some of the other (very involved) chaperones that they would never come down at the same time as most of the rest of that group. According to them, though, we were lucky to not have been there the year before when the girls actually did damage to the property along with all their other antics.

Guess My story isn't nearly as bad as most. In May 2008 I got stuck on Spaceship Earth for about 30mins when the ride broke done. I was at top sitting backwards at a steap angle. I was right next to the emergancy exit but everytime I tried to get up and walk to the exit I got yelled out and told that the ride will start in a few mins but if it doesnt you are free to use the exit. Really either let me use exit or dont. Dont waste 30mins of my day if your telling me u didnt have to and safety wasn't the reason they had me sitting.

My friend had bad one..... While waiting for the Epcot fireworks show, their 5 year old daughter was very happy and excited. She was twirling around and around, laughing as she got dizzy. While doing a twirl, her foot got stuck in a crevice/crack, and well, her upper body was still spinning. She got a bad spiral fracture in her leg....... They went to ER of course, and left (earlier than planned), the next day.

Not a very horrible experience, but the absolutely worst example of line cutting I ever saw was at one of the water parks, where you wait your turn to pick up a tube from someone who is exiting at the bottom of the slide, then carry your tube up the steps to the top. There were a couple of teenage girls who at the bottom of the slide instead of giving up their tube to the next waiting person, just hopped out of the pool and ran up the stairs past the hundred or so waiting guests, yelling, "'Scuse me, my family's waiting for me up there,", over and over again and repeating this basically all day.

The lifeguards were acting like wimps. When they hopped out of the pool without giving up their tubes I heard one say, in a really tiny voice that you almost couldn't hear, "OK you should be giving that tube to the next person in line," and they ignored him and he just turned away, like, ah well, that's somebody else's problem.

Once I was about 2/3 of the way up the steps and this gal came flying by up the steps so fast she banged her tube right into the back of my head and sent my glasses flying through the air, landing under a bush nearby.

I would never do it, but I imagine if there hadn't been a rainstorm that shut down the park, sooner or later someone would've stuck out their foot and - oops! - sent one of them flying into a fence or a stone wall. pirate:

I guess this is a lesson for all cast members - better take steps to fix problems smoothly and firmly as SOON as you see them happening, rather than waiting for tempers to boil up and a fistfight to break out. Better to speak firmly and use your walkie-talkie to get security now, than to have to break up an ugly fight and get a subpoena and get roasted and humiliated in cross examination at a lawsuit or criminal trial. Nuff said!

That was several years ago. I did see it handled better a couple of years ago at Expedition Everest. A teenage girl was using the same trick, 'scuse me my family's waiting for me. The second time around one of the CMs at the loading area just said, "OK better stand right over there and wait for your family to come along, if they're looking for you we can't let you get on the ride." I guess she must've stood there for a couple of minutes and then slunk away out the chicken exit.

I have two stories - one Disney at fault and the other not but both occurred on the same trip.

One morning at our resort we were waiting for the bus to come and my son was the first in line. When he went to climb on to the bus a woman pushed him - literally pushed him - a grown woman pushing a 12 year old - to get on the bus first. I was horrified!!!

The second day we were at our resort we returned from the parks to find our housekeeper's dirty bloody band aid on our bathroom floor and when I called housekeeping to come get it the woman on the phone was really rude. Three days later when my son moved one of the footstools from in front of the window in the room to reach something from the shelf next to the sinks he found a pair of dirty underwear. This time I called right to the front desk supervisor that I spoke to a few days earlier after the whole band aid incident. She was very friendly and helpful in each case but it was still totally disgusting!

I honestly do not think it matter when you visit or which park you are at when it is time for a parade the CM's trying to clear the way get very obnoxious and rude, they tell you to move when there is no place to move to least you plow over the person in front of you, this is one of our pet peeves

I gotta agree with you on that one, 100%. If you are paying so much for a resort, it's NOT too much to ask that the room be spotless. No bloody bandaids, no clumps of hair, no piles of dust.

Part of why we stopped staying at Disney resorts is because the cleanliness has gone WAY downhill. We were sick of paying several hundred-thousands of dollars for a vacation when the smaller hotels right outside Disney were so much cleaner (and cheaper!) Ick.

I posted this elsewhere - and it wasn't really a horror story for us - but somebody else could have added it to the list here if we hadn't caught it.

This summer we sent our 19 & 20 yr old sons down to Boardwalk a couple days before the rest of us arrived. We were staying at Beach Club and Sean & Ryne were joining us there. The day we were arriving they checked out of their room. They were there on DVC points and did not put a card or money down for charging. He went to the front desk and said they were checking out and gave his name. The CM commented that they were leaving early. Sean sent me a text msg asking if I knew they had them booked there longer. I sent a msg back that I did not, and that he should have the reservation confirmation letter to verify. A little while later he called and said they had dropped their bag off with bell services (until we could get there and got our rooms). I asked about his comment about being booked longer. He said don't worry about it they said the would charge the balance back to our account.:confused: I told him there was nothing to charge back - that we didn't use a card so there was no money involved - and if you use DVC points - if you cancel the day of you lose them - they don't "charge them back". I told him to look at his paper work before he went anywhere (they were waiting for a bus). So he looks at the paper that they handed him - at first he just kind of skims it, then he must have noticed something because he kind of laughed and said - " shoot - they had a different Sean ****". He went back and straightened it out. But I can just imagine - Sean & Ryne's room would have been ok - they technically didn't need to "check out" since it was on points and they didn't need to deal with any room charges. But this other poor guy who shares my sons name would have had a card that should have worked for charging all day (since its good until midnight of your check-out day) and then come back to his room and not be able to get in because "the checked out early". And if they place was full and somebody took the room at the last minute??? Of course if that had happened they would have discovered their stuff still in the room. I told Sean to always give the room number when he is dealing with a hotel. We have a common last name, so it's just easier to use the one of a kind room number.

This is a story about being a chaperone for a high school band trip to participate in the Magic Music Days May 2005 (I think that's what is called - I've blocked out this particular trip :confused3)....

After a very long day of competition - kids are loaded on charter bus for ride back to hotel - a kid comes up from the back of the bus to where we are sitting to tell us he smells smoke - we go back to check it out and YES THERE IS SMOKE  - we tell the bus driver to pull over - Pull Over - PULL OVER !!!!!! Smoke is now pouring out of the vents as we pull off the side of one of the Disney access roads.....

Every body got off the bus safely - all instruments were rescued from underneath - and it turned out that the engine was on fire - but didn't spread.

We stopped traffic while the fire department came - kids were upset - and we wound up taking one to the hospital for possible smoke inhalation (asthma):sad2:

Everybody was OK - and after everyone calmed down - the trip continued with a new bus for our ride back - The chaperones on the bus (there were 6 of us) were very thankful that no one was seriously injured - but it was a good story to tell - :scared1:

OKAY... We were in DW in 2004 for my wedding and My F-I-L was taken away by ambulance in the middle of night before the big day.
I was stressed because I felt bad "Pops" was in hospital and I wasn't there with him. Plus I was stressed that he wasn't going to make the wedding. (i know whaaaaaaaaaaaaa!)

It was a close call but I didn't sleep at all, and the someone was coming to do my hair and makeup at 4 am. I was exhausting. Pops made it to the wedding, let's just say he wasn't feeling at thing. He wound up passing a stone the size of a cherry. So i guess it's really Pop's horror story :)

In 1999 my wife and I were enjoying out first trip to the AK. After a hard day of trampling around the park we were pretty tired and it was a hot day. We were walking down one of the paths headed out of the park.
Suddenly I feel something wet spray the back of my leg. I looked all over the place, while still walking, but did not see anything that could have squirted me. I look over at my wife and she's just smiling at me.
I figure that it must have been a rogue drip sprayer and continue on my way when I feel something spray the back of my leg again.
I spin around and don't see anything again. My wife is still smiling at me. "Something keeps squirting me." I tell her and she just shrugs her shoulders :littleangel: so I keep walking.
Again something squirts me and I whip around and nothing! My wife is looking at me like she swallowed a canary :rolleyes1 and I snap at her "What the F@%& :headache: is going on!"
She rolls her eyes in disgust and shrugs over at a horrified cast member :scared: who was walking behind and to the side of me. He stops in his tracks and looks like he's about to make a run for it. Instead he sheepishly reveals a squirt gun that he's hiding behind his back.
I try to give my best humor smile and chuckle and the cast member gives me a forced smile back but I know he’s thinking that he was an idiot to do that or that I was a jerk. I turn back around and my peeved wife has already put some distance between me and her.
Man did I feel like and a$$. I was one sad Panda for the rest of what would have otherwise been a wonderful day. :sad1:

My Last trip was a Doozy in April of this year. we arrived late on a Saturday and I went to take my nightly medication. Problem was I left it at home. I have type 2 diabetes and so I was a little concerned. My Uncle also has it and had a couple days extra so it gave me some breathing room. So the next day I phone my mother in law and ask her to Fedex it down. Apparently that is a no-no with American customs(I am Canadian). They wanted her to fill out 20 plus pages of info and then it might get to me. So I call my pharmacy and ask them to fax a prescription down to Walgreen's after the guy at Walgreen's says that is fine. so I call back to say it's on it's way and he says that the doctor has to have privileges to practice in The US. It was Sunday so no one knows for sure and the doc in the urgent care doesn't have privileges. Then Walgreen's tells me they have nurses on site who can prescribe medication and to come down Monday morning. So I finish out Sunday, wake up Monday and go for Breakie with the family. But before we leave I call just to confirm and the lady on the line tells me they can't prescribe diabetes medication. So I am back to square one again. I go down to the front desk tell them the situation and they tell me about a company that will pick me up, take me to a doctor's office and bring me back after. Perfect I think. So the driver comes to pick me up, asks me if i am sick, I say no explain to him the scenario above about not being able to get teh medication into the country and he goes on a tirade about the Canadian Health Care system. I explain that it's US customs that won't let it in and he continues on ignoring me.

So I get dropped off by Captain Happy and tell the front desk nurse the situation. She says it's going to be $250 to see the doctor??!??!?! Not much I can do. So I get in there a nurse takes my BP, temperature, asks me some questions. I reiterate my situation but they insist on doing everything to me. I get in to see the doctor, tell him the situation he says "no problem I can write that up for you." He then starts checking my glands, my breathing, etc. So he finally leaves, I get my prescription filled for $20, and paid $250 just to get it filled. Needless to say I was suffering a bit of sticker shock, but hey, who left his medication at home? Me. Life Lesson I say.

So as I get back to the room i lie down and wait for my wife to come back with my son for his afternoon nap. when she wakes me up I have terrible stomach pains and spend the next 3 days either in bed or the washroom..I will leave out the gory details. I finally feel better after 3 days and we head off to the parks. at lunch my son pukes at the table and apparently caught what I had. the following day my mom catches it. Good thing we went for 2 weeks cause the first was a write off.

I have a couple more horror stories from trips past with being given the wrong tickets and ending up stranded at a closed Magic Kingdom, being drugged at a bar in City Walk the day after my wife and i got engaged. and some other fun stuff.

Having said all that I am dying to go back. We are all sad sad obsessed people. Wouldn't have it any other way though.

When I was a teen ager (how many years ago was that?) we were at the wave pool at Typhoon Lagoon. I was sitting at the very edge of the water with my back to the waves enjoying the water. A lifeguard walks by me not once but twice and doesn't say anything about the hughe waves that are about to come crashing down on me in a couple of minutes. So I'm sitting there and a wave comes up and drags me along the cement, somehow the entire top of my foot gets scraped up and I'm bleeding all the way to first aid. Here's where it gets :scared1: I limp into first aid (by this time my foot is covered in blood) the lady there takes one look at it and hands me a regular size band-aid. When I ask her if she has anything to clean it with she points me to a sink where I have to perform acrobatics to try and rinse my own foot. When I tell her that the little band-aid isn't going to cut it she hands me 2 more and then moves on to the next person. 2 days later my whole foot is infected so I had to ride around in a wheel chair for the rest of my vacation.

How about a real horror story, Me and my Mom left the Magic Kingdom for the day and hopped on a Monorail, all things went smoothly until we reached the curved rail that goes into the Contempary...

The Monorail Stopped we sat their helplessly as other Monorails passed on the other side of the rail causing our car to shake and just freak everyone out more, we could see the ground outside the windows, and everyone was pushing their weight to the right side of the car.

Then after a few seconds of pure terror the monorail worked again, Mom got off at the contempary station and that was the last time we rode on that thing on our trip, from then on we used boats to get to MK.

Little backstory info:
1. DD & I live in Melbourne, FL (Patrick AFB) and DH lives in Tampa, FL because of his job. (We're fixing that this fall - DD and I are moving to Tampa! :goodvibes)

2. My parents were down from Maine for the week.

3. We got rooms at All Star Sports because I ran the Race for the Taste 10K that weekend.

We've been going to MNSSHP for the last 4 years for DD's birthday. Last year (2009), the party we were going to fell on her actual birthday, and since she was going to be 4, I wanted to do it up special. I scheduled an appointment for her at BBB in Downtown Disney for 4 or 5pm.

My parents, DD, and I all spent the morning/early afternoon at AK, while DH had to work and was going to meet us later. Because we were going to end up at Downtown Disney eventually, and would need to have both cars there, he parked down there and took busses to meet us at AK. (Note to self and others: it took him an HOUR to get to us at AK. Next time, he'll take a cab!)

After we left AK, we went to ESPN so I could pick up my race packet. I had to sit in the back seat so we could all fit in my Camry comfortably (I normally drive). When I hopped out to go get my packet, I put the key fob on the center console between the two front seats so the car would stay running. (It's a hybrid and needs the key fob to keep running.) We then proceed to Downtown Disney and park in the nearly empty parking lot, next to my DH's car. My parents and DH took his car and went back to the resort while DD and I rushed into BBB because we were running a little late.

Well, we didn't get into her appointment until an hour after the scheduled time. (Second note to self and others: don't make a late evening appt. at BBB on the night of a MNSSHP, unless you're going to do it at MK!) DD ended up falling asleep in my lap on the floor of the store waiting for her appointment!! Anyway, we finally get in there and she comes out dressed as Sleeping Beauty, looking beautiful!! By the time we make our way out to the parking lot, it's dark and the lot is full.

I'm sure you can guess where this is going......I couldn't find the car!! :scared1:

Since I didn't park it myself, I didn't have that great of a recall of where it was. I knew the basic area, but DD and I kept walking up and down the lanes and it wasn't appearing. Then, I thought I'd do what everyone else does - get out the key fob and set off the alarm. I dig through my pockets and purse and then I remembered.

I left the key fob on the center console! :scared1: :scared1:

By now, I'm REALLY freaking out, but trying not to alarm DD, who is getting quite tired of walking around. DH calls, wondering what's taking so long and I frantically tell him that I can't find the car and I don't have the keys to it 'cause they're IN the car. I was convinced my car had been stolen, and why not? I made it SO easy for someone to take it by leaving the freakin' keys IN there!

So, DH drives over from the resort. Meanwhile, I'm talking to a CM from security, trying to give him the info about my car, with my frazzled memory of what my license plate is and such, STILL trying not to freak out too much in front of DD. When DH pulls up, DD and I get in his car and he starts running down one of the aisles, and then immediately runs back saying, "I found it!" That's when humiliation sets in for me, and I break down in tears.

We drive back to the resort and I calmed down a bit by then, but DD decided she didn't want to be in her Sleeping Beauty costume anymore. So, we changed her clothes and made it to MNSSHP around 9pm.

Lessons learned:
1) NEVER try to do a park, a BBB appointment, and MNSSHP all in one day. Just doesn't work for me and my family!

2) ALWAYS check and make sure I have the keys before I leave my car!

3) ALWAYS ALWAYS ask DD where we parked the car. She knew it was in "D for Daddy" - I was looking all over the C lot. :headache: :headache: :headache:

on christmas day 2008 i was in the park with my family when i stopped to get a scooter due to an injury. they ran to ride splash mountain and i was to meet them in front city hall. when i got close to city hall a cm told me that i would have to move with a group of people to a different area because the parade was coming. i was hoping to see the parade! i followed his directions with the other people and it took us behind the buildings. the cm said we would be coming back out on main street where we could see the parade. to our surprise we were brought back into the park area in future world and could not see any of the parade.:confused3

i could not believe that when the next parade came that day, we were stopped from getting close enough to the parade to see anything at all.:sad2:

i was really disappointed that we never got to see the christmas day parade at all. my biggest dissappointment was that the cms were all so rude that day. :rolleyes1 maybe because of the crowd?????

Can I ask what you mean by this more specifically? Do you mean like at Biergarten where you are seated with other parties? That others at the table did not talk to you? Or do you mean at regular table service or quick service locations?

Luckily, most of our trips have been pretty magical. Just a few little bumps in the road here and there. I'm sorry for the things you all have had to go through!

Our first family trip, there were two things that didn't work out or didn't go as planned. Both were restaurants, and while they didn't break the trip, it was still disappointing. First was Coral Reef....the CMs were the most "un Disney" I've ever encountered. They seriously couldn't be bothered with us. They were running behind, but they never really told us what was happening...and never told us there was a seating area to wait in! We sat on the floor by the doors with a sleeping 3 year old. Our waitress was horrible...messed up on a lot of our orders and demanded we order for above mentioned sleeping child. I had also arranged for special menus to be printed for dh and eldest ds...they only made the one for ds, so after the rest of the baloney we went through there, I finally burst into tears. Yeah...not so magical. I did complain to the manager via email, and we she did apologize, but I hope that the CM we had was spoken to about her lack of desire to be working at WDW.

Second was Chef Mickey's. Again...CMs that were totally not in the Disney spirit. I don't expect sunshine and rainbows...but a smile would be nice. I still think my experience here was colored by it being our last day before we left, lol.

On our anniversary trip last February...the whole trip was fabulous....but one night while waiting for the bus from DTD to POR...we encountered those magical people that appear out of nowhere and push you out of the way while you are just about to step on the bus. Yeah..not proud of my response....we had some words. We were all pretty packed on...and the pushers were also having to stand (so much for pushing past us)...and then our bus driver proceeded to drive like a maniac. It was scary. We reached the main stop at POR and even though our stop was waaaaay in the back..we bolted and walked to our room. It was seriously the scariest bus ride ever.

Sorry you had a breakdown. I guess having a cry fest at the happiest place on the planet is just sadly ironic. It just doesn't take much to push someone over the edge especially if they're tired and have been tromping around the park all day with have a child in tow.
We had the opposite experience once. We were tired and it was like 8PM after a long day in the parks before we made it to dinner at the Maya Grill. We get there and it is not that busy and our server was really friendly and great. We were so beat though that we just were not up for his "friendliness". He offered to take our picture and we were like "umm, OK... whatever". I don't think we were rude or anything but he probably noticed the forced smiles.
Needless to say he called our manager later that night and made a formal complaint... ;)

We went to WDW over Christmas 2007 and I can safely say I will never go over Christmas time again either. While the theming is magical the crowds and chaos are NOT.
no horror story here just a word of agreement.

Except my husband and I behaved extreemly poorly in Epcot, got into a huge fight that ended in me yelling at him to 'go home to mommy' and storming off. The whole argument was stemmed from the fact that he was in a very fould mood because it was snowing at home on Christmas day and were in the hot florida weather.

This isn't a real bad story, I was just kind of disappointed in the service.

While checking into POR I asked the CM helping us if she could have our park tickets added to our room keys. On our previous stay we were checked in at the concierge counter and they offered to do this for us. The CM advised we needed to go over to the concierge desk to have that done. DH and I started to walk over to the concierge counter where 3 CMs were standing with no one else in line talking to each other. We stood a couple of feet from the desk waiting for one to ask us to come forward. One of the CMs looked up at me and gave me a strange look. It kind of bothered me because hey, we were at Disney, I would think a smile would be in order! :confused3 I asked if something were wrong and she said "Are you waiting to be helped? Because you aren't standing between the two ropes." She was referring to the ropes that make the line. I said sorry and advised I was waiting.

Like I said, it isn't a horror story, but just kind of thought it was rude that since I wasn't standing a foot to my left between the ropes meant that I wasn't waiting to be helped.

Let’s see . . . Ah yes, a few of the reasons why I don’t always find the Magic Kingdom to be all that “Magical”: There was the time the security guard grabbed me for trying to cross the street. Ok, so it was during a parade – but he didn’t give me any options. I’ll admit this one was partially my fault, my friend and I didn’t know what time it was when we got on Splash Mountain, and then the ride got delayed while we were on it. By the time we got off it was, of course, 3 o’clock. We were pretty much trapped inside, and had a bus to catch to the airport in less that an hour. We managed to get to the main entrance where I explained the situation to the guard, and asked if there was any way we could get around the parade or the crowd, he flat out refused to help. Came to find out that there were only a few floats left and he could have just had a CM walk us to the end of the parade where we could have crossed the street “safely”. So I did what I felt I had to, shrugged out of his grip and crossed the street anyway (naughty me, I know). My friend wasn’t quite as fast as I was, and I ended up sitting outside of the park crying while he apparently took her into some building where she was “questioned” and made to write down her name and address (I still have no idea why they took that info). Turns out our plane was delayed two hours so we would have been fine to take the next bus – all that for nothing :p.

Then there was the time that my wallet got stolen in an MK bathroom. I was on the CP at the time, visiting the park during EMH with my roommates. My wallet was there, and then it was gone - nowhere to be found. Every single piece of my identification (because I was an idiot back then), all sources of money, my CP housing id and my Cast member id were all in that wallet. It took over a month for me to fix this problem. They don’t let you on CP housing property without your id, you can’t clock in, get paid, or get credit for attending training classes (which I had for a transfer the next morning at 5 am) without your employee id, which you can’t replace without a state id or driver’s license, and of course you can’t do much of anything without some access to money. I’m getting stressed just thinking about the fun of that mess :sad2:.

And last but not least, not in the park, but in the MK parking lot – the time that I was verbally assaulted, accused of stealing, and literally trapped inside a bus when a high school band leader told the driver to shut the door and not let me leave – and he actually did it! All this because I accidently got on the wrong bus, and was just about to get up to ask the driver if it was the right one – how dare I! I would handle that situation so much differently now than I did back then!

Yea I'm pretty sure you're right on that one. I never really minded it stopping anyway. Its either stopping for clearance or for a quick system reboot which takes at most a few minutes. Now, I can see how being in a crowded car may be a little frightful when it stops, and I've been in the same situation, except ours stopped on the way to Epcot with a lovely chorus of screaming children. Talk about horror...
