We had an awesome time at our first Disney 5K! It was more fun than I could have imagined and we are hooked! Can't wait to see the pictures! :rotfl2:

I think we may go ahead and register for the Halloween Family Fun Run 5K and the Disney Family Fun Run 5K next January. :goodvibes

But...our net time for the results was calculated as if we were in Wave 1 instead of Wave 3 like we were. It is absolutely not a big deal since we were no where near the top three, but I am curious - Did anyone else have an incorrect posted result?

I didn't think to look at that but I know our 5k time was right we were wave 6.Were you able to find results listing how you did in the entire group not just the group you were in? I would like to know how we did in the entire field that is part of the fun not just against the women teams.

Hey guys - Congrats on your first Disney 5K - I know what you mean about being hooked (it only takes one race believe me!)

Your net time, and somebody correct me if I am wrong here, is calculated from when the first wave started - no matter which wave you were in. They don't restart the clock each time a new wave went, so that is probably why your time seems off. As long as your chip time seems about right you have nothing to worry about :thumbsup2

Linda - I think, and again somebody tell me if I am giving out false info here, that EE only does your group times of the category you were in - since some people ran alone, all men, all women, coed, etc.

Hope this helps, and congrats again - it was an awesome time wasn't it :cool1:

Yes, that is what I thought. So my thinking is that the Clock Time is the time from the start of Wave 1 to the final finish line (5K plus Search) and that the Net Time is the adjusted time to take in to account when your wave actually started. For example, if you started in Wave 3- you started 10 minutes after Wave 1 so your net time would be 10 minutes less than your Clock time.

:confused3

I must not have this right- what is the difference between Clock Time and Net Time?

OH! Ok, I think I get it now - I just went on there to look and it seems as though the clock time is - well your clock time! And then you have the chip time for the 5k, the chip time for the hunt, and the net time is the combination of the latter two. So they timed from when you crossed the start of the 5k until you crossed the finish, then they timed when you crossed the finish of the 5k until the finish of the hunt, and then added them to get the net time. Well, at least that's how it seems to me :goodvibes

Andee & Joel. If you are the RWETHERE YETI team it looks like your chip failed to register the start and you defaulted the earliest possible start. At this time since you really were in it for the fun and experience it is probably not worth asking the RD> If you think you would have placed then I would ask about it.

This could have come from any number of reasons - it is possibly due to crossing the line at the very edge and furtherest from the data logger. Sometimes the edges of the mat just don't capture everything. If you were near the edge as you crossed, next start try to be in the center of the mat when crossing. Could slso have been from an overload at the instant you crossed, but most start lines don't have this kind of issue any more. I understand it was dry so no problem there. Finally, you may have had your DTag in a bind or the antenae down against the shoe. Then as you ran the tag found its proper position. It may have been bad karma. If you write the RD he may correct your time to reflect the front of the third corral...

Sounds like you had a blast. Way to go on the first finish.

Thanks so much for the info! Yep we were Are we there yeti? :rotfl: No where near placing so it isn't a big deal and not worth writing the RD- but 10 minutes is a big deal for my self esteem. ;)

Thanks again! :flower3:
