A plea for patience

I know how excited you all are for DIS Con II, I am too, but I really have to ask a big favour.

I am doing the best I can to get the information out to you as soon as I know it. Reservations at the Swan can now be made and I posted the tentative itinerary. I am working on the menus and a price and will get it out as soon as possible. I am sure you all understand with the losses suffered last year, it is important to ensure it doesn't happen again. I am working on discounted tickets as well for you as well.

We have a committee of 7 who will be working diligently to make this as organized and fun as possible. We're hoping to have some new and fun things this year, in addition to some of the wonderful meets and activities from last year.

What we need from you is to give us some mini-meet suggestions and if you are willing to host any. Marsha is compiling a list and only after we look at what we have, can we arrange them to "fit" into everything. There is a chat tonight (Wed) if you want to join Marsha and Beanie in discussing the mini-meets.

No one's wrists are being slapped, I am just asking kindly and explaining why we are asking you to slow down. Evening meets can be planned after some of the planned events and we will do the best we can to fit it all in. I know we won't be able to please everyone, but we will do the best we can! Please be patient, we're doing the best we can. We still just under 4 months! ;)

Kitty Litter Cake

Serving Size: 24

Ingredients:
1 (18 oz.) box spice or german chocolate cake mix
1 (18 oz.) box white cake mix
1 pkg. white sandwich cookies
1 large box vanilla instant pudding mix
12 small tootsie rolls
1 litter box (preferably a NEW one!)
1 plastic scoop
green food coloring

Preparation:
Prepare cake mixes and bake according to directions (any size pans). Prepare pudding mix and chill until ready to assemble. Crumble white sandwich cookies in small batches in blender, they tend to stick, so scrape often. Set aside all but about 1/4 cup. To the 1/4 cup cookie crumbs, add a few drops green food coloring and mix using a fork or shake in a jar.
When cakes are cooled to room temperature, crumble into a large bowl. Toss with half the remaining white cookie crumbs and the chilled pudding. You probably won't need all of the pudding, mix with the cake and "feel" it, you don't want it soggy, just moist; gently combine. Put mixture into clean litter box.

Put three unwrapped Tootsie rolls in a microwave safe dish and heat until soft and pliable. Shape ends so they are no longer blunt, curving slightly. Repeat with 3 more Tootsie rolls and bury in mixture. Sprinkle the other half of cookie crumbs over top. Scatter the green cookie crumbs lightly over the top, this is supposed to look like the chlorophyll in kitty litter. Heat remaining Tootsie Rolls, three at a time in the microwave until almost melted. Scrape them on top of the cake and sprinkle with cookie crumbs. Place the box on a newspaper and sprinkle a few of the cookie crumbs around. Serve with a new pooper scooper.

I would post a pic of my famous "foam dome" hat DS's fratunity gave me, but my wife might not like it:p She would not let me bring it to discon last year:rolleyes: Its a yellow constrution helmet with the holders for two beer cans on top and of course the two plastic lines coming down to the mouth:smooth: Its very classey, I may try to hide it in her suitcase this year ;)
