*Trip Report - Disneymoon*
Coming Soon.
*Hi!*
Hi ~
Boyfriend and I have decided on a Disney Dream Wedding - September 2011 hopefully on Castaway Cay. Thought I'd start sharing my progress/plans/thoughts, etc.
A little background. We are not officially engaged. He is currently having "the talk" with my mama. We are from St. Louis, MO and have lived together the past year. Started dating January 17, 2009.
*How we met*
We met on Yahoo Personals (now part of Match.com). I like NEVER EVER wanted to do online dating (like ever). But I had moved back to St. Louis from graduate school and was finding it really hard to meet someone. I'm not a "party girl" and meeting someone at a bar wasn't going to happen.... My friends didn't have any single guy friends.... I didn't have a childhood guy friend that was single.... Well I did but he is gay, so that wouldn't work. :rotfl: So my BFF forever, KARA, who was in town visiting family for Christmas, met her DH online. She talked me into posting a profile. I was too nervous and had her do it.
After talking to a few people online, I got a ;) and a "Hello" from Brent. We talked online. He called. I didn't answer. And finally called him back.
We set up the basic dinner (Friday's) and a movie (Gran Torino) date. I figured if we didn't like each other at least we'd have some distractions. popcorn::
So long story short. That night went well. We had a second date the next day (Applebee's and the Zoo). And a third date the next day (couldn't even tell you what it was). I like to say he just never left after that. 6 months later I bought a house and he moved in.

Yesterday was my birthday :yay: (I'm now 26) so I got cut off mid-post to go to dinner...
So I have no proposal story yet, but Brent did try to ask my mama (the only parent whose blessing I really want) a few weeks ago. She said "I'm not ready yet" but we continued to discuss wedding options, settling on the Disney Dream Wedding. So. Mom showed up yesterday to take us to b-day dinner and went "are you going to ask me or not?" so poor boyfriend got to ask permission on the spot. She said yes  so I feel we can officially start planning. Ready to go dress shopping yet mom?
Now I am a Disney kid, love the parks, would go once a year if I could afford it (or more if I lived closer), but the boyfriend has NEVER been to Disney. So it makes it very difficult to sell him on the idea of a Disney wedding. He wanted to get married on the beach. So we have the compromise and are planning the 3-day cruise leaving September 15, with the ceremony being in Castaway Cay on the 17th, exactly 32 months after we first met.
Now we just need to book. I'm (well mom) is still trying to decide the best way to book for a group. We will prob. need 8-10 cabins but do not know the final guest list yet. I'm thinking we need to send save the dates (soon) so people can book before the rates go up too much. I want something either Disney-like (it is my Disney Dream Wedding) or destination wedding fun (I love the boarding passes/passport ideas).

Well..... That quickly I bought a wedding dress (well mom bought me a wedding dress)!!! A store near my house is moving locations so the entire stock of bridal gowns was on sale for $100. Can't pass up a deal like that (thanks mom!).
I also got the date penciled in. Just have to start counting down til I can officially confirm!
Booked the cruise today also. :)

Hi there! I just wanted to say welcome and congratulations!! Your dress is beautiful and you got an amazing deal! What a time for the store to have a $100 sale! I like that the two of you compromised for a Disney Cruise wedding - if you can continue to compromise like that you should have a long and happy marriage!

Brent proposed this past Saturday. :lovestruc It was our 18 month anniversary.
He is a huge car guy and loves NASCAR. He slowly is turning me into a fan. Well the Nationwide race was here Saturday. He surprised me with suite tickets (air conditioning!) and had talked to the VP of the track to set up the proposal.
The suite was wonderful as it was really hot and humid Saturday. We had great views of the track, food all day, drinks all day. We won a raffle to wave the green-white-checkered flags at qualifying (Brent thought it was rigged, but it wasn't).
Well the track guys that took us to wave the flags came back for us later in the day for a tour of pit road. When we got down there, just Brent and I ended up walking onto Victory Lane (and I was very confused as the rest of the tour group wasn't walking with us anymore). Well the poor guy starts shaking and gets down on a knee... and I go "Are you seriously proposing?!?!" He started crying and asked me to marry him. (I said yes!).
It was the sweetest thing. My mama okay-ed the Victory Lane idea (as I "won" his heart).
(Note: Of the journal I've let Brent read, he corrected me on the whose idea Victory Lane was).

Aw thats a lovely engagement story. Congratulations to both of you. I look forward to reading along while you plan all the little details:goodvibes
Aww what a sweet story! I love that he was all shaky and nervous- so cute! Also, I love how you asked if he was seriously proposing- I did almost the same thing. While DF and I were having out picture taken by photopass in front of Cinderella's castle he got down on one knee and I said- What the @#*% are you doing? Get off the ground and stop wasting the photographers time! :lmao: Love that you did kind of the same thing! makes for a great story after :goodvibes Congratulations!!!

That is so exciting about getting married on the cruise! I had thought about that too but decided I couldn't get away with cutting that many from our guest list, I barely got away with the 50 I invited :confused3
The dress is gorgeous, I love the lace accents! I can't wait to read more!

Also, when are you planning on sending yours out because I too was thinking that I will need to get them out sooner than later so people can save and/or book early. I'm glad I'm not the only one. Brent is still giving me trouble for my reaction. He says I should have known it was coming because we had the wedding booked (and I knew he picked up the ring).
Congrats!! I love your dress! Keep the ideas coming...

I found a template for the STDs online, and am using that to recreate the ones I saw. I have them completed except I need a pic of me and Brent to use as the passport photo and I need "fancy" paper to print them on. All of my actual guests have been sent a nice (non-fancy but lengthy) email detailing the cruise/wedding plans. I figure I'll send them the STDs or invites as the date gets closer. Maybe a year out? We are planning an at-home celebration after the wedding at a to-be-determined date, time and location. More guests will be invited to that, so I'll have to come up with a low cost solution.
Our goal is to spend the min. amount on the wedding, while still having it be what we want (and with the MK shoot/cause I want to be a princess). :bride:
We were going to pay for everything ourselves, (not counting the cost of the cruise) but my mom and dad (divorced) have each agreed to give us $2,500 towards the costs. I'm hoping to spend as close to the $5,000 mark as possible not counting the cost of the cruise itself or anytime we spend in Disney as a Disneymoon.

Wow we're really similar! We're paying for everything ourselves too, and my parents are giving us $5000 towards the wedding a our gift, so we're trying to stay as close to that as possible! I really wish we could do a MK photo shoot, but there's no way we'll be able to pay for it. The cruise and 7 nights at WDW after are costing us enough as it is.

Thanks for the info. As much as I would love to do the MK shoot, I do not think it is our budget :( Neither of our parents have offered anything towards the wedding, but we were not banking on it either. I am trying to keep the cost below $6,000 for both the cruise & the at home reception...probably unlikely if we have to do a more formal reception to please the future MIL...she is afraid to go on the cruise.
Keep posting you planning...I look forward to reading more.

Hi to Disney Diva another Stl Disney Bride:goodvibes
Hi ~ Glad your daughters wedding was beautiful, I'm excited for my own. We do have an assigned DFTW planner for the cruise, beyond that I don't, I'm not using a travel agent or wedding planner here.
So in wedding planning news. My future MIL called me yesterday - we all got our assigned dinner times and show times on the ship. Well they didn't match  but one quick phone call and it was fixed. We have the 6 pm (main seating) dinner time and 9 pm show time. I think it'll be great so we don't have to rush at all.
Other than that we are just trying to figure out when to spend time in Disney before or after the cruise as future hubby only gets a week off work and the cruise leaves on a Thursday. We also want to have an MK/Epcot photo shoot and if he's not to see me in my dress before the wedding we can't take the pictures til monday. So things to ponder. Any thoughts?

Finally have more plans in place.
Flying down night before and staying at Pop. After the cruise we are spending Sunday evening-Saturday (way way too early) at All Star Music for our Disneymoon. I'm driving Brent crazy looking at restaurants in order to make dinner reservations.
I am extremely excited that my Maid of Honor is coming over from Australia. She's my Italian sister (lived with my family when I was a senior in high school). She is also bringing my "something borrowed" for the wedding. In sad news, I'm not sure the Best Man is coming. My fiance's brother joined the military so it is looking like he is unable to attend, but we are proud of him for serving.
We booked our St. Louis reception for October 1st. We are slowly working on sending out Save the Dates/Invitations. I have a mock passport invite complete for those coming on the cruise. I am trying to decide on a very cheap option for Save the Dates and Invitations for the reception. I'm also looking on cheap options for food/decor. We don't have a lot of wiggle room in the budget.
I'm thinking of creating post cards through some sort of online template for the save the dates and having them printed at Kinkos (or similiar). I found a couple cute ideas but am work so I will post the links later. :)

I hadn't given it much thought (but good thinking, I should think about it). I searched around on the internet and came up with a few options:
I like this one: We invite you to join us for a fairy tale wedding — the beginning of our happily-ever-after. WEDDING info.
Please join us as our fairy tale continues with a celebration upon our return RECEPTION info.
Here's some other choices:
Please join us for a post-wedding celebration...
An encore celebration will be held...
Join us in celebrating the marriage of COUPLE with a reception marking the return from the wedding...
Please join family and friends in celebrating the Marriage of...
You're invited to the local celebration...

I did some research today as well...I came up with this one that I might use. I know I need to incorporate my parents in the invite since they are helping with a lot of the cost otherwise my mom would be upset.....
Lisa & Quincy along with their parents invite you to come and celebrate their marriage....
But I relly like the one that says "Please join family and friends in celebrating the marriage of..."

Wedding Dress. I bought my dress before I had the a ring on my finger (see Post #8 for 2 sentences on my dress). :lmao:
Anyways, I didn't feel like I devoted a proper amount of attention to the dress.
So pics (without me in them/and ignore the model, I'm much shorter and have many more curves):
Front http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/Dress.jpg
Back http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/DressBack.jpg
It's lovely. I love the "beaded metallic embroidery" its sooo pretty. The dress also is flattering on my body type. I am on the short (5' 4") curvy side (plus size).
A) It covers my chest and I don't have to worry about it. I don't want the girls to be saying "hello world" on my wedding day. And when trying on dresses, I think that is exactly what some of the dresses would be like.
B) Side draping and A-line is always helpful to a curvy girl. I put it on and said "wow, this makes me look skinny"
C) It wasn't particularly heavy. I was worried about this aspect, as I don't handle heat well, at all. And I picked an outdoor, beach wedding (what was I thinking?)
D) It doesn't have a lot of detailing on the lower half of the skirt, which makes altering the dress easier and cheaper. It needs shortened. And I'm debating having the train cut off so I don't have to worry about it in the sand.
I will say I never got the "this is the one" feeling with the dress (but I love it). I think I was just shell shocked  since I bought the dress months before I had a ring on my finger (although we had picked the wedding place, date, already). I don't know that I ever pictured myself as a bride and I'm not a heels, make up, perfect hair, kind of girl, so while I want to be a princess on my wedding day. The whole dress thing was kind of odd to me. If any of that makes any sense.
My mom kept telling me the dress was perfect. And when my grandma saw it, she cried. So sweet. And helped me get over the :scared1: about all of it.
I'm so excited about the dress now. And am counting down until September.
Note to anyone whose been following: I added a "how we met" to the first page and an index. I'm slowing working to improve my planning journal.

I think your dress is beautiful. I love that you added the close up picture so we can see the detail of the bodice and the dainty sleeves. You will look beautiful!!
I have seen beach weddings with and without trains so it is up to you what you want to do. Since your dress is lightweight, I am sure it will not drag a sand dune behind you! LOL I actually ordered my dress without a train since I am also getting married on the beach.

I didn't order the dress (just picked out and took it home) because it was a store moving sale so I didn't get that option. I'm still debating. If it wasn't for the MK/Epcot photos my mind would be made up already.

We made some decisions.
Flowers:
I decided on hot pink and orange roses for my bouquet. It will look similar to this:
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/flowers.jpg
My future MIL is making extra boutonnieres for the dads/grandpas and corsages for the moms/grandmas out of silk flowers. (Update: They turned out beautiful!)
I found a small silk bouquet for my MOH.
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/MOHflowers.jpg
They are white with pink accents. She is wearing a blue dress so it should work great.
Cake:
Since receiving our planning guide, we got an email stating that the options have changed for cake flavors. The new options are:
Cake Flavor
Vanilla
Chocolate
Marble
Cake Filling
Vanilla Bean Butter Cream
Lemon Butter Cream
Raspberry Butter Cream
Chocolate Truffle Mousse
White Chocolate Truffle Mousse
Milk Chocolate Caramel Ganache
We decided to go with the Vanilla Cake and Lemon Icing. With the "Classic Round" style.
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/Cake.jpg
Photography:
After really thinking about it, we decided to cancel the MK/Epcot photos. Partially for financial reasons, partially because we decided photos from the actual wedding were much more important to us. Brent has never been to Disney before, so the locations do not have much meaning for us as a couple.
So we are going with the "Magic Package" which for 995.95 (plus the 85 fee for Castaway Cay weddings) we get:
30 5x7 wedding photos
30 8x10 wedding photos
25 wedding announcements (reminds me of christmas cards with your picture, but announcing that we got married)
1 5x7 wedding album
1 8x10 wedding album
1 cd of all images

So after three nights of trying, I finished our (No Sew) Fish Extender for the cruise.
I followed these no sew instructions (http://www.scrappingthemagic.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2237) and these instructions (http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=30302583&postcount=609).
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/IMAG0237-1-1.jpg
Advice to anyone trying to make it. Pay close attention to your measurements. I had to remake a pocket because I measured it wrong. Be prepared to have fabric glue everywhere. :lmao:
Very exciting.
Side note: After much debate, we decided to put our last name at the bottom (as we will be Mr. & Mrs. XXXXXX) However I don't want to share that with all of internet world, so I blurred it.
----------------------------------------------
In other news. I took my dress in for alterations on Saturday. Earlier last week was spent trying to find an appropriate bra for the dress. I wanted a strapless, but it doesn't quite work for my body shape so I ended up buying a strapless with "invisible" straps.
I think it looks fine (pardon the picture I took it myself on my cell phone) because it will be under the sleeves.
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/IMAG0228-2.jpg?t=1310532698
For alterations, I had them cut the train off (but she said she would leave some of it long so it would look nice in pictures). My future MIL asked me to keep the part of the dress I had cut off to make into a pillow. That seems like a very lovely idea.
In general I've had a little bit of a hard time picturing myself as a "bride". So the dress fitting was the first time in a long time I was able to see the whole dress in the mirror. It made me feel like a bride. :)
On top of seeing the Little Mermaid at the Muny (http://www.muny.org/) - large outdoor musical theater - earlier this week. My mom cried at the end because I'm going to be a Disney bride. So sweet. But its making it all "real" I'm just over 9 weeks away!

Wow, for 100$ that dress was a STEAL! It's really pretty and looks great on you! I love the strap/cap sleeves and the style is lovely.
I'm just joining in now, I'm really interested to hear about a cruise wedding. I love cruises almost as much as Disney so I can't wait to see how it goes.
Any idea of if your MIL is going to join you? What part of the cruise is she nervous about?

I don't think it's necessary to have in there unless you're inviting people on the cruise and they need to know what ship to get on. When people see "Castaway Cay" most people will know it's a Disney cruise.

For us it was regular cruise pricing. We didn't expect that many guests to come so we didn't want to go through the hassle of working with the Disney Groups person.
Our personal total was just at $4570
$3500 ~ Wedding
$1070 ~ Cruise (Category 05D - Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah)
Some of our guests got inside staterooms so their totals were less.

Awhile back now, Brent and I picked out all the music. We sat down, looked up all the songs online and listened. He doesn't know that many Disney songs, (I'm marrying a non-Disney person, scary I know) so the wedding songs themselves are all traditional.
Prelude/Seating - Canon in D
Processional - Bridal Chorus
Recessional - Wedding March
First Dance - A Whole New World (A Disney song Brent knows)
Cake Cutting - You'll Be in My Heart (He hearts Phil Collins and knew the song, but didn't realize it was a Disney song).
Father/Daughter Dance - I loved her first (Heartland ~ My stepmom's suggestion)
Stepfather/Daughter Dance - Stepfather of the bride (Mike McLaughlin ~ My mom found this online and it is perfect)
Mother/Son Dance - All to you (DJ Keo ~ Brent's mom's pick, I'm not sure Brent has even listened to it, as he didn't get a say).
All the parent/child dances are country, which is really funny because I don't really care for most country music. I'm excited about our choices though.

Can you imagine how you will feel this time next week? We have such a short way to go. I'm excited to be going on a cruise. I know you must be about to pop. You must be a busy bride to be making sure everything is ready. I hope I atleast get a glimpse of you in your wedding gown. I don't even know you but I am very happy for you. May God bless us all, especially you with perfect weather.:wizard:
Thanks so much for your kind words! I am excited, today I took it easy, I'm officially off work until after the Disneymoon. So today was my calm before the storm (I also dropped my mom and stepdad off at the airport).
I hope you see me, the ceremony is at 10 am on Castaway Cay. I am thinking of maybe putting my dress back on for dinner. So maybe that will give you longer in the day, if you see me please say hello.
I'm hoping to look and feel like a princess that day. :bride:

Just some reflections.
I cannot believe that it is almost here, it will all be over before I know it! I can stop obsessively planning.
I am sooooooooooo excited to get married. I love Brent and am thrilled to be able to call him my husband in a week. :bride:
I sort of wish I would have done something for our guests (Brent's mom got all the rooms door decorations) similar to welcome bags but we a) didn't have the money b) didn't have the time. Maybe once everything settles, I will make thank you gifts and mail them.
I keep praying to the weather gods. :worship: I find cruising during hurricane season not to be an issue because I am usually really good with just going with flow. However, when Hurricane Irene came through I found it stressful and with the projections for Tropical Storm Maria, I'm obsessively checking the weather. I also keep singing "How Do You Solve a Problem Named Maria" from the Sound of Music over and over again in my head. Its scary I know. :rotfl:
In general, if we don't make Castaway Cay I'd like to say, I can just go with the flow, and really hope that is the case. I just worry for Brent because the beach wedding part was our compromise, otherwise I feel like its all me. But I'm hoping the weather gods will answer my prayers (the latest track has shifted further away from the Bahamas. I know whatever happens it will be beautiful and a happy occasion because we are finally getting married. I'm not as concerned with the details of the day, just the big picture.
I've been reading a lot of PJ's recently and posts on the main threads. I will say I don't feel as stressed as I feel some other brides do, even with the weather stress, and I'm extremely happy with my decision to have a DCL wedding (regardless of if we end up missing CC). The entire planning process has been low key and seamless, I'm so pleased with everything. Piece of advice to anyone thinking of a DCL wedding. If you are the type of person that needs to be control of all the details of the day, don't do a DCL wedding especially a Castaway Cay wedding. There is NO guarantee you will even make it to the ports you want to go to and I don't think it would be a good fit.

I think the idea of wearing your dress to dinner if you can stand the attention. I bet you will upstage the princess in your wedding dress :bride:. All the little (and some big) girls will love seeing an actual bride. Your advice on the destination wedding and details are so true. My best friend got married in Nassau Sept 26 of last year. They did most the work so it was super easy but except picking the music and the spot she had very little control. However, she was the happiest I've ever saw her.

Hi everyone reading Aimee's PJ - this is Aimee's mom. I will say all the pixie dust and prayers to the weather gods (as Aimee was putting it) worked. Weather was beautiful (albeit a bit hot) and wedding took place on beach as planned. I will let her tell you everything else - I will just say some pics I took on my own Kodak easy share camera (compared to even her professional pics) are sooooo beautiful. If I wasn't there myself I would wonder if they were photoshopped or even a postcard scene that she was cropped into :) it was so beautiful and she of course was so beautiful. Ok she will be back on Saturday from her Disneymoon. Will let her tell you everything else

Day 0 ~ Tuesday, September 13, 2011
Packing! As anyone who actually knows me (in the real world) can tell you, I notoriously overpack and pack last minute.
The added bonus we had here is we needed to ensure all the wedding stuff made it on the cruise with us. I knew I wanted to take the wedding dress on the plane with me (NO WAY WAS I CHECKING IT!!!!) but I had not decided whether to carry it in the garment bag (which would be bulky and annoying) or roll it and put it in a carry-on roller suitcase. I decided to roll it. Which terrified me. But I figured they pressed it on the cruise, and I didn't want to struggle with it.
As pictured below, the dogs wanted to come with us... The wedding dress is in the little blue suitcase. Side note: These are only my bags. Brent had two and a backpack also.
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/Pictures/Wedding/100_0121.jpg
Oreo wanted to come too, he actually packed himself.
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/Pictures/Wedding/OreoSuitcase.jpg
My mom and stepdad took a pre-wedding vacation, so we were watching their house and pets too. It felt like a lot going on, but I actually felt more organized than I normally do when I pack. I don't make lists, but on the trip itself I don't think we ended up forgetting anything.
At the last minute Brent grabbed the First Aid Kit we got as at my Bachelorette Party/Shower. While we had no real injuries, it came it handy for the blisters you ultimately get at Disney.
We had a very early flight on Wednesday, and I don't think we slept at all that night. Just completely excited about everything. (And last minute wedding stress). Our pets (we also have another cat not pictured) knew something was up, so they didn't let us sleep much either.

Day 1 ~ Wednesday, September 14, 2011
Travel Day! So very exciting (side note: I don't use the thesaurus so be prepared to read exciting over and over again).
Our plans: Flying Southwest. Driving my mom's car to the airport's long term parking lot (she was on her pre-wedding cruise vacation and I had dropped her and my stepdad off at the airport) for them to pick up the car when they returned from vacation. We were staying at Pop Century for the night, meeting up with my maid of honor and Brent's parents at the hotel, and heading to EPCOT for the evening.
So we:
Depart ST LOUIS MO (STL) at 07:45 AM
Arrive in ORLANDO INTL (MCO) at 11:00 AM
We live 20-30 minutes away from the airport, and trying to be prepared, aimed to get to the airport at 5:45 (Yuck!). So I woke up at the awful hour of 4:45 am, took a shower, was dressed ready to go, had the car partially packed.... and Brent finally got out of bed and decided about 5:15 he wanted to shower.
Needless to say, lots of nagging later (something along the lines of Brent, I am not missing the plane to get to my wedding) we left at the time I wanted to be at the airport originally (5:45). It was pouring down rain and chilly the morning we left, not fun for me to drive in. However, despite driving in the rain in the dark, we got parked, on a shuttle, luggage checked and through security pretty quickly.
We ended up in different boarding groups, so it was slightly strange to board the plan without my (future) husband. But we were only separated by the families. We managed to get seats together, and I annoyed a bunch of people by trying to lay my dress out on top of luggage in the overhead bin, but it wouldn't fit, so I ended up rolling it (and not as nicely) and stuffing it back into my suitcase. Once the flight was all the way boarded, there was a completely empty overhead bin right across from us, so I proceeded to annoy Brent with "I'm worried about my dress, I wish I could lay it out" about 5 million times. Impressive on a 2 hour flight. He was actually really nice and assured me 5 million times that it really would be okay, they press it on the cruise.
The nice cool, calm, non-nervous bride I had been up until this point went completely out the window, or got left behind in St. Louis, because I was a nervous wreck.
And then I made Brent take a picture, so I could document every step of the process.
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/Pictures/Wedding/Brent-Plane.jpg
This documenting and taking lots of pictures, by the way, went out the window once I got tired during the Disneymoon. :rotfl:
Our flight wasn't bad, with 2 exceptions.
The flight was extremely bumpy because of aforementioned rain
A kid cried for about an hour straight on the plane. (And yes I realize I was going to Disney, but even if you don't want to admit it, you don't like listening to a kid cry for an hour straight either. I did feel bad for the parents though, they were trying really hard).
We did not use the luggage service with Magical Express. As we were (or I was) worried if our stuff didn't make it, we wouldn't find out with enough time to find it before the cruise left on Thursday.
Umm, we should have used it. We struggled with our many suitcases, got lost a few times as Magical Express was on the other side of the airport than our luggage was, so finding it was a tad stressful trying to balance all the luggage. Side note: I did re-roll my dress waiting on the luggage at baggage claim which made me feel a little better during this ordeal.
Once we found magical express, I had to hand the suitcase with my wedding dress over to be put under the bus. I had a reaction to that :scared1: maybe a sort of dance/scream freaking out pre-wedding tribal ritual? and Brent just rolled his eyes at me.
Once I sat down on the bus, I was tired and happy. We were on our way!

Brent's shirt is awesome! Do you have the same one on or a different one? Traveling can be so stressful and it seems every time I am coming home (I live in Orlando) there are kids crying on the plane. :scared1:

Thanks! I had on the same shirt (but for a bride). The top said "I'm getting married" under the bride/groom it said "On the Disney Dream" and under that the date "September 17, 2011". My mom got them at the "Make a t-shirt" store in Downtown Disney last year.
Brent did NOT want to wear his at all (and it doesn't help that his dad called him a "tool" when he saw him). I don't get it, as in my family we never cared much for our "image", I mean really its just a t-shirt, and its super cute. We got lots of comments (mainly from women) around the park, saying how cute they were and many looks from their partners that said "oh no, now she is going to want one".
So yes, I appreciate that he was a good sport and wore it all day with a smile on his face.

Day 1 ~ Wednesday, September 14, 2011 (Continued)
So we arrive at Pop Century! Get checked in and we get Happily Ever After buttons, and even more exciting, a post-it note with Laura's room number on it. Laura is my maid of honor/Italian sister; she lived with my family my senior year of high school as an exchange student and flew over from Australia to be at my wedding.
We again struggle with the suitcases, check into our amazing room. It was in a nice quiet area, but still a closer building.
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/Pictures/Wedding/Pop.jpg
And I get my dress hung up, kick Brent into the other room, aka the bathroom, and check the damage. It actually looked fine.
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/Pictures/Wedding/Pop-Dress.jpg
We try to get a hold of Laura, but there is no answer at her room. So we decide to get lunch as its 12:30ish Florida time, (so I sent her an international text saying we went to eat if you want to join us).
At this point I've been up since 6 am Florida time and I'm starving, and I get MEAN if I don't eat. However....
Brent's parents call about this time saying they just made it to the resort, so instead of getting food we are waiting on them. And go to find Laura instead. Walking up the stairs to find her in her building, she is walking down cause she got my text. Yay! The happy reunion!
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/Pictures/Wedding/MeLaura.jpg
Just for fun.
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/Pictures/Wedding/Twister.jpg
We eventually meet up with his parents, and its lunch time! I got a bacon cheeseburger and Brent got a bacon hamburger. But our burgers were disgusting  neither one of us ate much of it. It was NOT real meat. Yuck!
So we head out to EPCOT, which I'm really nervous about as EPCOT was essentially my pick as no one else I was with had been to Walt Disney World before. And I HAD to go to EPCOT first, as I heart figment.
We get there and Brent's parents are like, as my family would say, "love you, see you, bye" and take off on their own.
So Brent, Laura and I spend a half day at EPCOT together. And for whatever reason, I don't have a picture of all three of us from that day so you get two pictures instead...
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/Pictures/Wedding/EPCOT-meandBrent.jpg
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/Pictures/Wedding/EPCOT-meandLaura.jpg
We ride (with the verdict from the other two, I love them all):
Spaceship Earth: eh it was okay, but Brent "thought we were going to be able to see out of the big ball" (being from St. Louis, you can see out of the arch)
Test Track: awesome (with some miscommunication over how fast you go as Laura doesn't know mph)
Figment: which Brent got a good warning of "don't you dare say anything bad about figment because you aren't going to get it and he is different now than he used to be...." and the verdict from him.... "I see why you like it, its a musical" and he didn't dare say anything else :rotfl:
Soarin: really awesome,
Living with the Land: "this is boring" until we hit the greenhouse part, it got a "huh, thats interesting"
The Seas with Nemo: Laura said "the aquarium part is way better than the ride part"
And we moved on to the World Showcase starting in Canada. Which everyone liked, we enjoyed talking to people in the countries and we just explored and shopped and such. Some random pictures...
Oh Canada! Subtitled: you can't go to EPCOT without trying on silly hats
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/Pictures/Wedding/Canda.jpg
Visiting my Italian sister in Italy
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/Pictures/Wedding/VisitingItaly.jpg
We met up with the (future) in-laws in Germany as his families heritage is German. Brent enjoyed a German beer and we split the best bratwurst ever. Well, in reality wasn't that good, but I was starving after lunch sucked so bad.
We stayed with his family the rest of the way around World Showcase and we ride (without them as they chose not to ride) the two boat rides in Norway and Mexico (verdict being: its nice to sit down). In the front of World Showcase we wait out Illuminations. But Brent's parents get scared away by talking to someone about the "crowds" (which in reality are fantastic in September) and walk back to the bus right before the show starts.
We stay and enjoy the show... Well they do, I try the best that I can as I really hate fireworks and I'm the grown up that always has their fingers in their ears. We walk out, catch the first bus back. And go to bed.
All and all an EXHAUSTING but good first day!

Hi!
Quick update:
At home reception turned out really nice (despite being sick). Thanks mom!
I'm planning to work on my TR later, I've been really busy. A friend of the family's father died last week so I was busy with funeral stuff . My husband and I decided to paint our bedroom on Sunday (about 3 pm) so that took a couple days to get the house back to normal. And I've been obsessively working on our free photobook the past couple weeks as our Disney Photopass pictures are about to expire.
I am behind in my disboarding duties but am back... I sent the order in this afternoon for our book.

Day 2 ~ Thursday, September 15, 2011
This was the first day of the cruise, legal wedding day, and the day of a zillion problems....
The day started well enough, by repacking the wedding dress.
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/100_0164.jpg
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/100_0165.jpg
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/100_0166.jpg
Brent's parents went to get the rental car (mini van). Which starts problem 1 of the day; the shuttle for them to get the rental car was late. The first car they tried to give them was broken. So it got rejected before they made it out of the parking lot. With mini van # 2, it still had a car seat in it. Soon enough they got it straightened out and were back at Pop to pick us up.
But in the mean time, I get a phone call from my mom (who was getting off of a pre-wedding Carnival cruise) who told me someone took her luggage. :scared1: Carnival had the guy's cell phone and he answered, but was arguing with the agent over having his luggage. Eventually he was convinced and turned around to head back to port to give my mom her suitcase back. So lots of text hugs to my mom while we were driving to port.
About 45 minutes to an hour after leaving Orlando we get to port. We drop off the car and hop on the shuttle to the Dream!
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/100_0168.jpg
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/100_0172.jpg
As we get in line... My mom is there, with her suitcase!!!! Mom tells us, its a good thing she opened her suitcase to check on stuff, because the guy left a fanny-pack and house keys in her bag. Seriously!?!? How do you take the wrong suitcase, open it and put stuff in it? But the good thing is she got her suitcase back.
The happy reunion of host mom / exchange student.
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/100_0173.jpg
Port check-in was smooth. We got there around noon, checked right in (while in the process losing Brent's parents, & my parents/Laura) but found my Aunt Kitty & Uncle Dan and Grandma & Grandpa, and walked right on the ship. FYI to any future cruise brides: Brent & I received boarding group 1 so if we were there earlier we could have boarded with the first group. They were on group 6 or so by the time we got there.

Day 2 ~ Thursday, September 15, 2011 (Continued)
Without fail, the FIRST thing I was doing once on board was ditching the wedding dress. I dropped it off at guest services the second I got on board.
So we were anxious to see our room, but we couldn't get in yet so we went to the buffet for lunch and ran into my dad & stepmom and "Vegas Uncles".
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/100_0180.jpg
After lunch we went to explore the ship and finally our room was available.
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/100_0186.jpg
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/100_0191.jpg
We then ran off to the dismeet, met a couple peeps (as everyone got distracted by the Dream, not too many showed).
Soon enough it was time for our legal ceremony. We got a card/letter at embarkation, and our room saying to meet Tom at 3 pm at Guest Services. We get there at 3 pm (with the 'rents in tow) and the cast members at Guest Services looked at my like I was crazy when I asked for Tom. He wasn't there.... :confused3 About 10 minutes late he showed, very apologetic, but I guess a meeting with a different bride ran late.
The legal ceremony was short and sweet, except Brent keep taking this huge breathe/gasp before he spoke.
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/IMG0546.jpg
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/100_0201.jpg
We had a quick meeting with Tom after the legal wedding to go over details for Saturday. At this meeting started the next problem of the day (which I'll come back to). Shanda had told us all of our guests couldn't sit together at dinner, instead we would be split into different tables. I told her thats fine but these 6 people would have to sit together and not with other guests (as they were two sides of a divorced family). When we got on board I noticed every guest had the same Table number for dinner. I asked Tom about it and he said it couldn't be correct, but it would be by dinner.
So we got through muster drill (sooooo exciting they don't make you carry the lifejackets anymore). And went to the sail away party. But on the way I met a fellow disbride in the elevator.
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/100_0223.jpg
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/100_0222.jpg
And Then Comes Dinner....
Dinner was in the Royal Palace restaurant. We get there and the table isn't set for 19 people. Lots of confusion ensues, my stepmom gets upset and leaves dinner before we begin. I start crying.
The dining room staff was very nice but really confused also. They moved a table for us and we were able to all sit together (and my stepmom came back). Talking to the staff at dinner, Tom had called them and said that the 6 people mentioned above could NOT sit at the table with other guests, so the dining room staff and moved and table as asked by Tom.
LOTS of miscommunication.
The dining room staff moved the table back so we all could eat together. The food itself was lovely.
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/100_8310-1.jpg
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/100_8308-1.jpg
Also at dinner I found out about invitations. All of our guests were meant to get invitations at their room when they got on board. My grandparents invite was sent to my dad and stepmom's room (with their room number on it). Not good as they are my mom's parents and he got paranoid they were going to be in his cabin. Note: Their invite was also sent to their room. One of my "Vegas Uncles" (and vegas aunt's) invite was put on the wrong room altogether. It was put on the wrong side of the ship. So port instead of starboard. They found it because they went to the wrong side when first searching for their room.
After Dinner....
I go back to our cabin for seasick stuff before the show. On our door is a letter, so I open it and its for "Jessica and Michael's Wedding" on Castaway Cay, Saturday September 17, 2011. I am NOT HAPPY and storm out to Guest Services.
I get there and try to explain what happened. And just start crying and crying. Eventually when I get words out at Guest Services I try to explain it but somewhere along the lines the words "DO I LOOK LIKE A JESSICA?!?" come pouring out of my mouth. Between everything that day, I just lost it. Chalk it up to nerves, but in my mind if Disney couldn't get my name correct there was NO WAY they could get my wedding correct.
Laura just happened to be there to book her excursion for Friday, figured out what was happening and went to tell my mom what had happened. She came up to Guest Services they had called Tom so we were waiting on him. He came by was very apologetic, and my mom sent me to the show. She expressed her frustrations to him and he brought her a new letter.
I went to the bathroom outside the theater, and found my saving grace, Gillian. Gillian was the restroom attendant and the loveliest cast member I met. She was soooo nice to me, asked me what was wrong, so the whole story comes pouring out. She gave me a hug, told me she's seen the weddings and they are beautiful and assured me everything would be okay.
I went to the show, and remembered why I love Disney. The show put me in a great mood. It was the Golden Mickey's, which I had saw a version of at Hong Kong Disneyland.
After the show, we went back to the room and found champagne (great, but I don't drink it) and my dress back. The dress had a ticket on it which said $50 bucks. So I called Tom. He sent the champagne up as an apology (nice gesture) and assured me the $50 would not be charged to us, they just have to "charge" it to us at first for accounting purposes, but its removed before anything is actually charged to us. That's fine, but he or Shanda really should have warned us.
Brent and I decided to go shopping. Fun. And then to the Aqua Duck. We called my mom and the three of us went about 11:30 that night. It was a BLAST! Everyone should ride. Brent and I spent some time in the Mickey adults only pool after the Duck and went to bed around midnight.
All and all the day was emotional. :rotfl:

Love your report and pics!(especially that one of the couple in the elevator;))
Did you have any other trouble with Tom? I'm curious how he's been doing with the weddings now? Keep the trip report coming. I'm really enjoying reading yours!

The only other trouble we had that I can think of at the moment is he put the wrong date on our wedding certificate (haven't got there yet in the TR but might have mentioned it on the cruise thread).

Day 3 ~ Friday, September 16, 2011 (Nassau)
Friday started by waking up to this view off the balcony as we pulled in to Nassau.
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/100_0232.jpg
We had plans to meet my mom's side of the family and go shopping at 10 am.
So Brent and I went to have breakfast. We decided to eat sit down breakfast in the Royal Palace restaurant again. It was a nice way to start the day.
When we got out of breakfast, we saw the princess meet and greet. (I stole this picture from my parents camera but it was too sweet).
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/Princesses.jpg
We soon met up with my family to complete my one and only mission in Nassau. Buy color changing nail polish for the wedding!
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/100_0235.jpg
In the cruise terminal we immediately lost half the group. We detoured through the straw market on the way to Del Sol. (It was HOT).
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/strawmarket.jpg
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/StrawMarket2.jpg
After we went through the straw market we headed to Del Sol. Along the way we found the other part of our group (who all headed to Del Sol as they knew we would end up there eventually).

Mission complete. :yay:
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/ColorChangingNailPolish.jpg
Note: My aunt bought me the nail polish (thanks!) as a wedding present and I got two colors. White that turns to pink and blue that turns purple.

Day 3 ~ Friday, September 16, 2011 (Continued)
Brent really really wanted to go parasailing and I didn't. While not completely opposed to the idea, Thursday had been soooo emotional for me and I get motion sick (BAD) so I opted not to go. Brent found out my mom and stepdad were planning to go in Castaway Cay so he sweet talked them into going in Nassau instead. He had saw a booth in the straw market so he went back and signed them up.
As it was tandem parasailing so Brent was super excited he got to go twice, once with my mom and once with Dan. Here are some of their pictures (While they were parasailing I went to lunch with my grandparents and took a nap).

http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/Parasail3.jpg
After they got back I went with my mom to deliver FE gifts.
The FE process was a ton of fun. About every time we got back to our room, we had presents. We had a very creative bunch and got very cool gifts (everything from magnets to a Mickey dream catcher).
First here is a picture (from home) of my FE gifts. I made them into magnets.

Day 3 ~ Friday, September 16, 2011 (Continued)
After delivering FE gifts, Brent and I had our Palo dinner.
We are NOT fancy food people so we were a little apprehensive of this. But after the day of a zillion problems on Thursday we were looking forward to having a) no wedding stuff to stress about and b) no family stuff to stress about.
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/100_0250.jpg
First was the antipasto dish. It was okay...
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/100_0249.jpg
Next was pizza. Which was awesome. Brent said it was the best cheese pizza he has ever had.
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/100_0252.jpg
Then there was dinner which Brent ordered steak, I ordered chicken and we got some pasta stuff as side dishes. I HATED the chicken and sent it back and ordered the steak instead. Steak was yummy. Pasta was different.
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/100_0256.jpg
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/100_0255.jpg
Finally there was dessert. I ordered the tiramisu and Brent ordered the chocolate souffle (sorry only have a picture of the tiramisu).
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/100_0259.jpg
When we were done they brought us a "congratulations."
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/100_0260.jpg
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/100_0264.jpg
Overall dinner was good. Way too much food, Brent talked in a fake British accent all dinner and we had a nice view of the Oasis of the Sea pulling out of Nassau.
Our Palo night was Pirate night on the ship, so after dinner I went and found some pirates (aka went to the show)
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/Pirates.jpg
I had to stop before show time and talk to Gillian though. She told me was really glad I came back by as she was worried about me. She really was the sweetest thing.
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/100_0265.jpg
After show time it was time for fireworks. I am not the biggest fan of fireworks by any means (translation: I pretty much HATE them), but I went to make Brent happy and out of curiosity of what fireworks off a cruise ship looked like. We met up with my dad and crew and Brent's folks off the adult only bar/deck to watch them.
If you like fireworks they were pretty cool I suppose. The show that I could hear but not see interested me more.... After the fireworks I met up with my aunt (who was also in the same area) to grab my nail polish from her. She had a super cute towel animal ~ at least I think this picture was from her room.
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/100_0266.jpg
After that I watched Brent go on the Aquaduck some more with my dad's friends. I couldn't go as the hair dresser told me NOT to get my hair wet and come to the appointment with it dry...
While they rode the duck, I had "the talk" with my dad. I had been avoiding the walking down the aisle discussion with pretty much everyone. If during the planning process anyone brought it up I would tell them I didn't want to talk about it and tear up and/or cry. I had pretty much made the decision to walk myself down the aisle, but needed to talk to my dad about it. He said he completely understood and his fear was I would have Dan (my stepdad) walk me and not him. It was a BIG stress reliever, but didn't come without tears from me.
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/100_0268.jpg
Soon after, Brent and I went back to the room and we sat out together and watched lightening far away over the water. I of course used this opportunity to paint my nails for the wedding, I went with the blue that turned purple. Brent ordered room service and we went to bed. Wedding was in the morning! :lovestruc

Day 4 ~ Saturday, September 17, 2011 (Wedding Day!)
Saturday was Wedding Day!!!!
We woke up really early because of the excitement of the day and watched the Dream start to pull into Castaway Cay from our balcony.
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/Balcony.jpg
Brent and I went to breakfast together at the buffet. I don't think I could really eat much of anything, but it was nice to have the calm before the storm of the day.
My hair appointment was at 8 am, but I was told to show up about 7:45. So I made the short trek from the buffet to the spa.
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/Hair.jpg
My mom and Laura (MOH) came to hang out while my hair was getting done. My hairdresser said my tiara was the best model in the states and he was very glad my hair was long. (Which made me feel good as I hated my long hair and grew it out only for the wedding. The day after the at-home reception, I cut 10-11 inches off).
My mom left a little bit before my hair was done as she was supposed to meet Brent and everyone in the Lounge to go out to the island. As I was walking myself down the aisle, I had Laura help me get ready. Laura left for a few to change and met me at the room.
He was quick, my hair was done and looked great by 9 am. The finished hair (sorry the best picture I had is from on the beach).
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/DSC_4787.jpg
I met Laura in the room to get ready. She brought my something borrowed.
My "something new" (my dress)
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/100_0286.jpg
My "something old" (my grandma's necklace) and "something borrowed" (earrings from Laura)
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/100_0284.jpg
My "something blue" (My flip flops ~ again the best picture I had is from on the beach).
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/DSC_4738.jpg
Right after I got dressed my mom came to the room looking for tape, so that was nice as I wasn't sure I'd get to see her before the ceremony (once I was ready).
All that was left was to wait until 9:30 or 9:45 for Tom.
So to kill time, we took a couple getting ready pictures.

Day 4 ~ Saturday, September 17, 2011 (Wedding Day! Continued)
Soon enough Tom was at the door, with my beautiful bouquet. And off we went.
Laura and I got to ride on the back of the golf cart to the ceremony site. Which was a very surreal experience. When we got on the cart, Stitch came by and "offered" to be my "something blue". On the way I got lots of waves, smiles, and congratulations from people enjoying the island.
The weather was beautiful. Hot. But really, just beautiful. All the hurricane/tropical storm worry but nothing to complain about (other than it was maybe too bright).
Here are a bunch of wedding ceremony photos.
The men (My grandpa, my stepdad, Brent, Brent's dad, and my dad).
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/SDI_5909.jpg
My dad ran into me at breakfast and asked if he could say hi before the ceremony started so Tom got him (and my mom both) so say hi right before I headed down the aisle.
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/DSC_4732.jpg
And the ceremony begins. Honestly I don't remember much of it other than a) the script was different than the one we got from Disney and b) it was sooo bright it was hard to look directly in Brent's eyes.

Day 4 ~ Saturday, September 17, 2011 (Wedding Day! Continued)
So this starts the madness after the ceremony.
My advice:
Have someone bring you sunglasses
Bring Water
Have a list of what family photos you want
We were never happier to put on sunglasses.
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/DSC_4821.jpg
The madness of family trying to take pictures of us.
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/DSC_4828.jpg
The picture you see my dad taking in the above picture
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/dadpic.jpg
Signing the Bahamian Wedding License. Our moms signed the US one as witnesses, so Brent called the dads over to sign the Bahamian one (which meant a lot to my dad).
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/DSC_4857.jpg
After signing the wedding license we took a bunch of posed pictures/family pictures
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/SDI_5929.jpg
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/SDI_5933.jpg
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/SDI_5942.jpg
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/SDI_5949.jpg
All the wedding guests
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/SDI_5955.jpg
So my poor Great Aunt got too hot and started to faint when we were taking this photo. There was no water close to where we were. All bad. Someone ran to get her water and we got her a car and then took the photo.
In the aftermath of this we were still trying to take family photos. Which was a mess. There was still people trying to take pictures with their own cameras and people trying to take care of my Aunt. We were also half arguing with Tom trying to get him to take some of the guests/my Aunt back on board. He wanted to take all the wedding guests at once because he needed to be in the Outlook Lounge. He eventually took our guests in shifts, but we missed most of this taking photos.
See wedding worried faces...
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/SDI_5963.jpg
We almost missed a picture of us and my dad and stepmom but got one...
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/SDI_5968.jpg
We did miss a picture of us and my mom and stepdad. Other than the picture with all the parentals in it, this is the best shot I have with my stepdad (which was taken right at the end of the ceremony, before we started taking posed shots).
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/DSC_4832.jpg
We also missed a picture with my grandparents (at least on the cameras I have access to the pictures).
So my suggestion is to make a list of family photos you want. Our photographer was lovely, but he didn't know what we wanted and didn't want or who our guests were.
As we were walking away to get pictures of just the two of us, we ran into my favorite restroom attendant. She was able to get permission to come, which was awesome. She was watching from little bit back as she didn't want to intrude, but I was so excited to see that she was able to come.

And that is (finally) the last of the wedding photos. I hope you enjoyed...
The only things that went wrong during the reception:
Tom tried to give us the wedding certificate with the wrong date on it. I gave it back discretely and he replaced it later in the evening.
They didn't have the non-alcoholic cider for me ready. But in Tom's defense, I didn't ask for it until the night before so it wasn't on the paperwork, and it was a quick fix.

So a month later, I'm getting back to you (if you are still around). Thanks. My auntie was fine once she got some water and in the AC.
And when I look at my pictures all I see is how happy I look.
Looks wonderful! What a great way to have a wedding!
Thanks so much. I still love my choice for a wedding.

General life update/why I haven't been on the boards as much... I won't be back in Disney anytime soon. Brent lost his job in October. He made the decision to go back to school for his mechanic certification and got a job as a waiter in the mean time. I think it was life's way of forcing him on this path, its something he has been thinking about for awhile and this forced it to happen. I look forward to what the future brings for us.
On that note since things have settled down, I'm working on finishing my TR.

It was a great choice for a wedding! It is very hard looking at all of the pictures! It makes me want to do it all over again!! Sounds like you and Brent have it figured out and I am glad he is getting his mechanic certification! Good for him! I am sure you will have a bright future!!

Day 4 ~ Saturday, September 17, 2011 (Wedding Day! Continued ~ Castaway Cay)
There was a whole day after the wedding! Can you believe it?!? There is a trip post-wedding. :lmao:
We changed and went straight to eat on Castaway Cay. I was sooooo hungry by that point in the day.
Here's some random Castaway Cay pictures that you've probably seen from other folks also.

Brent decided he wanted to go jet-skiing. Being a chicken on this trip, (aka I was tired, my stomach was still in knots from the wedding festivities, and I didn't want to mess up my hair) I didn't want to go.... We went over to the booth to book it for him. And they said it was sold out for the day. :sad2:
But, a very nice man saw that we had just gotten married and he canceled his ride/tour so Brent could go. I don't know who he was, but thank you. You made Brent's day. The man said he was tired anyways so hopefully it worked out well for him also.
Some more pictures

Off Brent goes. He said it was fun and I would have hated it. So I made the best choice and took a nap on a lounge chair and hung out with my mom.

Day 4 ~ Saturday, September 17, 2011 (One Last Night on the Dream Post-Wedding Evening)
After leaving Castaway Cay my mom and I went to the character blitz.

http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/ChipandDale.jpg
At dinner they brought us our leftover cake and cake topper.
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/Dream3.jpg
I asked for a box for the cake topper, but they didn't have one available at dinner. Otherwise I don't remember much about dinner. We did say goodbye to our guests in case we didn't see them after that. This was the last night of the cruise.
In between dinner and showtime I went down to the room. Poor Tom knocks on the door wanting to decorate our bed and looked shocked that we were in the room. Apparently he thought we were at late dinner. He said he would be back later and I asked him for a box for the cake topper.
I went to the show (Believe) which made me cry. More tears. Ugh. If you've seen it you might understand but otherwise I don't want to ruin the show (so stop reading here if you don't want to know) but the scene when the dad sees the girl grown up and finding her prince charming got to me. I think because it was my wedding night.
Anyways....
After the show I go back to the room to meet up with Brent so we can pack to get our suitcases out in the hallway in time for pick up. It was a frantic process. We get another knock on the door (that poor Tom) who was still surprised we were in there. He was really really nice, but not good at details.
At that point, I just let him in to decorate. Here is the before (Note: you can see the edge of the suitcase on the bed and packing going on).
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/Dream4.jpg
Here is the after.
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/Dream5.jpg
Brent and I then spent literally the rest of the evening picking out pictures. The pictures weren't ready until about showtime for us to review, because they gave us a printed copy of EVERY picture to look through. We had so many wonderful pictures, we weren't sure which ones we wanted. We got to pick 30 pictures to be printed as 5x7 and 30 8x10.
My mom of course helped us, but it took forever. This part was the worst part of the cruise. It is hard to pick out your favorite photos, and the boat was rocking in the ocean that night. By the time we were done, I felt soooo seasick and exhausted and just wanted to go to bed. So Brent worked things out with our photographer. He said we could pick up the pictures in the morning.
So that was the end of a lovely (overall) wedding day.

You had a great day! The packing was hectic for us too since it was the last night of the cruise and the wedding night. I am glad you got lots of great pictures. Did they give you an album for the pictures or were they just loose and did you have the option for a disk with all of the pictures?? Just wondering...
Great trip report!! Happy 2012!!

Happy 2012!
We picked up the pictures the next day. We received them loose in folders, but were given two photo albums to put them in. Each photo album also came with a storage box. Heavy and awkward to carry but actually really nice to have.
We also go the CD which came in like a DVD case that says Disney Cruise Line on it. We had to pick it all up before we disembarked in the morning. I'll post pictures when I get around to finishing the TR.

So that was the end of a lovely (overall) wedding day.
Lovely indeed! A DCL wedding looks like a fantastic way to have a great, intimate, wedding and still keep it fun! The fact that you could go to the beach and Brent could go jet-skiing after the wedding is just awesome! I've really enjoyed reading along with your adventure and can't wait to see the rest of the pictures!

Congrats !! Your wedding looked beautiful
I kept reading that you were seasick-- was it that bad. I get so sick on boats and have horrible motion sickness and we are looking into a cc wedding. I'll be so upset if I'm sick the whole time :confused3

Thanks.
Yes I did get seasick on the last night but it wasn't trip ruining at all. I took motion sickness remedies and it helped (motion ease, and meclizine). It was just i needed to lay down for a bit after we picked out pictures.

Day 5 ~ Sunday, September 18, 2011 (Saying goodbye to the Dream)
Sunday we picked up our photos and photo albums from our photographer (note: the picture gallery area is extremely busy on the last day but we didn't have a choice). We asked for a picture with Robin, our photographer which was the last photo we took on the dream.
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab172/stl_figment/100_0353.jpg
Here are some pictures of the actual photo albums and cases (sorry they aren't the best photos) that came with the photography package.

After we received our photos, we packed up the remaining items and said goodbye to the Dream.
Follow-up thought: We had set out our luggage the night before, so we only had our carry-on items when we left the Dream. The only problem was I had left out a t-shirt which wasn't large enough to go over my head/hair (I still had the wedding hair-do and wasn't ready to take it out as it still looked nice). I'm glad I had on a tank top the night before...

A typical question I've gotten is how much does a Disney wedding cost anyways. So I've tried my best to realistically list out the expenses we had for the wedding. (Which is really scary by the way). :scared1:
However, prices have changed for the cruise weddings since last year (up to 4,000 for a Castaway Cay ceremony). And other costs will be dependent on individual circumstances.
Cruise Costs
We were on a 3-day cruise on the Dream. In a Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah Category 5D, Cabin 6070
Cruise: $978.00
Castaway Cay Ceremony: $3,500.00
Government Taxes and Fees: $91.76
Extra Guest Fee ($20 per person x 9 people): $180.00
Photography (Cruise line package $995 + 85 for CC fee): $1080.00
Hair Appointment: $100 + Tip
Standard Cruise Gratuities: $72
Subtotal Cruise Costs: $6001.76
Additional Wedding/Travel Costs
Wedding Dress: $100.00
Marriage License (Brevard County, FL Mail Away Application): $93.50
Roundtrip Airfare from St. Louis to Orlando: $478.80
Hotel Room (Night before cruise - Pop Century Resort): $62.16
Rental Van (from Disney to Cape for 5 people): $73.30
Subtotal Additional Costs: $707.76
Disneymoon Costs
Rental Car (from Cape to Disney just the 2 of us): $37.48
Disneymoon (All Star Music - 6 nights, Memories Package plus Dining, 7 Day Park Hopper): $1453.90
Estimated Tips for Dinner ($25 x 6 meals): $150 (sorry this is a best estimate on the high side)
Subtotal Disneymoon Costs: $1641.38
TOTAL: $8200.90 + Any Spending Money + Tip for Hair Dresser
ESTIMATED GRAND TOTAL: $9,000
