I have been on this board since May 2008, dreaming and hoping that my wish for a Disney wedding comes true.... Well it's 2010 and it did.

We got engaged in May of 2008, on Mother's day (it was a total surprise and a gift to both our mom's who were there.) After our Mother's Day engagement, I was told we were suppose to get engaged in Disney since we were going on May 16th 2008, but he was too nervous to carry the ring for the trip. That's when he decided to do it a week before and just make it a special day for us and our moms.. I was okay with it but I had to take a picture of my ring in Mickey's hands....

I knew I wanted a Disney wedding since I was a kid, but due to some family issues I knew we had to hold off on planning anything so I was patient. We went back and forth on it since many of his family members didn't like the idea, but we both realized that this is about US... so we called, signed the contract and we are getting married on JANUARY 6, 2011.....

My invitations are a combination of doing them myself and having someone do them... For the printing and mounting on the stock paper I am using Lynsey from http://www.decadentdesignsllc.com/. I am boxing them myself, putting the purple ribbon and attaching the brooches.

I will be honest with you, they have not been easy. I still dont have the actual invite but finding a box for them has been tough.

Here is what I recommend... go to the website http://www.decadentdesignsllc.com/ Lynsey has beautiful invitations in boxes as well. She is great to work with, great prices and ideas.
Email her and let her know that Maria with the purple Disney wedding invitations referred you. She is really nice. She will help you with ideas.

I have been dying because the wedding is 5 months away and my future sister-in-law has been the only one who has been asking about flights...
everyone else has forgotten that disney is not located in New Jersey.

So.... I contacted JetBlue myself, asked them about group rates and booked 11 tickets. Here is a great thing if you are having a big group going to Orlando together.

JetBlue will price it for you, let you put a $50 per ticket deposit for the # of tickets they have on hold and they give you till 30 days before the event to pay it in full. You don't even have to give the passengers names till 30 days before. So now 11 people could fly down on a locked in fare and I don't have to hear "oh we have to pay it all in 1 shot"... because they could pay it a little at a time.

I think Continental does this as well... just a little tip!!!

No they are actually Chocolate covered apples (1st pic), chocolate covered rice crispy treats on a stick (2nd pic), chocolate covered marshmellows with a mickey starw as the stick (3rd pic). They are so yummy and cute.

I got those from DISNEYSHOPPING.com a while back. I recently checked because I need 2 more and they no longer make them. They are now using zazzle.com for all their personalized shirts.

This weekend was full of fun activites... Invitations done & mailed, my Maria Elena headband was ready for pick up and I found out the aisle runner is on it's way (pic in previous post)

Hello all!!! I am so excited I needed to share this...

So call me "clueless" but I didn't know that brides & grooms give each other wedding gifts... I must be living under a rock because it was news to me.

So last night, I was talking to my fiance and he said I got you a wedding gift, I was a bit taken back, I thought maybe something to wear on our wedding.

NOPE!!!! it is even better... Disney vacation points at Bay Lake!!!

I am so excited, I have been a DVC member for years now, Saratoga Springs is my home resort but for some reason I really wanted to have Bay Lake...

They don't have them on their site, I got them at the store. They have so much more at the store than the actual site. They didn't have names :guilty: sorry!

The ribbon is DOUBLE FACE SATIN. I got it at MJ as well but after I had purchased it I found a store in NJ that has a site you could buy from. http://www.ribbonbazaar.com

They are awesome, ask for samples they will mail you a sample of anything you need before you buy.

So we are 35 days away from the wedding and the stress is building up...

I am currently working on mailing out all our guest's travel details...
Flight info, hotel accomodations, park tickets, park maps etc.

The Welcome Boxes are done and I am mailing all the goodies that are going in them directly to the hotel later this month.

The Favors are being wrapped up this week and should be ready to be shipped out as well. I'll post pictures when they are all wrapped up.

My sister and mom gave me a wonderful BRIDAL TEA PARTY, which was a blast. I didn't want a traditional bridal shower so they just invited very close family and friends to have Tea at a cute Tea House in Westwood, New Jersey. I only registered at Disney's Honeymoon Registry so I got some nice gifts to use during my wedding trip.

My MOH, Flower Girl, & Bridesmaid are getting their dresses fitted 1 last time next week and I have 1 more fitting before the dress gets taken home.

I have an "on-the-phone" planning session with Kathleen this Friday and hopefully I get to finalize some things before the holidays.

For all you January Brides.. what were we thinking when we decided to get married right after Christmas :idea:

Here is the dress, they are adding more beading and another layer of tulle at the bottom so I don't have to hem it. It's really simple but I just loved the fabric and the buttons going down the dress from the top all the way to the bottom of the train in the back... I'll show that the next time I take a picture...

I was a January bride(1-3-10) in Disney last year and we will be down again for our annivesary. We are actually leaving Disney on your wedding day. As a fellow January bride I will tell you this, make sure to check the weather report and even if it says it is going to be in the 70s, it gets cold at night. Last year it was high 48 degrees on my wedding day and 25 at night for the DP. I live in NY and know you live in NJ and let me tell you all us NY'ers were freezing!(if you look at my pj, I am in a sweater dress and Uggs at my DP) lol Just wanted to let you know to give you a heads up. Thanks! The totes are from Vista Print. They are great, they do a great job and will print anything you send them. I got many things from them at great prices.

Maria, don't stress about the weather. Yes, it is absolutely freezing here right now (I'm about 40 miles from Orlando)..but the weather is constantly changing here. It's going to get into the 70's for the rest of the week and chances are you'll be doing so much while you're down here, you wont even notice if it's cold.

Don't stress too much..there is so much to do but it will all get done and you are going to have the greatest time of your life. :goodvibes We're here for you when you need to vent! Just let it out!!! :thumbsup2 Eddie is completely calm too, and I think that causes me to stress even more lol.

Thanks!! The dress fitting went okay... not as smooth as I thought since the dress place decided to change my bustle and didn't tell me till I got there. So now I need to wait for another 3 days to take the dress home!.

I feel better about the weather, since it did get a little warmer. After giving it some thought, I said to myself, If it rains, it rains, if it snows it's snows... the only thing that counts is that we are getting married...

So 2 weeks to go and things are not as calm as I had planned.
Yesterday my fiance went to pick up his custom made suit from NYC. When he tried it on, the jacket seemed a little tight but nothing to go nuts over...
BUT when he turned around the sides of the suit 'bunch' up leaving an odd look, as if the suit didn't fit.

This morning I emailed the owner and told him I was not pleased with the "custom" fit and wanted the jacket to be fixed. I wasn't very nice in my email since I had issues with this place once before. (suit was 6 weeks late)

When he replied, I was shocked I got the rudest email a person could write, nevertheless a business owner. I am so annoyed, I could have gone to a department store and gotten a suit for a fraction of the cost and one that fit.

To spare any NYC bride the pain, don't go to Alton Lanes for a custom suit...


Other than that drama... I just mailed out the boxes to Disney, I got my license, and I just ordered a grooms cake for our family dinner...

8 days away from the BIG DAY!!


I realized last night that I never made programs for the ceremony, so this morning I whipped these up and I think they came out ok. I have purple ribbon left from other projects so I will tie a bow to keep the insert and cover sheet together. Talk about last minute.

I still have a couple last minute projects going but everything is coming along...

My family is so annoyed with me... My sister calls me the NON-BRIDEZILLA,
my cousin (bridesmaid) is dying for me to go nuts and start yelling at people, and my mom gets angry at me because I have liked everything she has made for the wedding...I have not complained about a thing.
They really want me to freak out but I have this under control... LOL!!!

Monday: We arrived in Orlando after having a heart attack... JetBlue cancelled our flight on Sunday night at 7:40pm, less than 12 hours before we were suppose to leave. Luckily, my sister and I grew up knowing the airline lingo and we called JetBlue and got ourselves on a flight leaving JFK airport right away.

The morning of the wedding, I decided to treat all the ladies to Breakfast
We had a blast, the Mad Hatter loved my ring, and decided to invite everyone at the resturant to the wedding... He even sang the Wedding March everytime I got up to get food. It was a blast!!!

I highly recommend Karen from http://cupcakecrazyorlando.com, I had contacted my planner to have Disney make me this cake and they couldn't cause they were too busy. Having a Disney wedding was the best thing I did. Many people thought it was silly and childish when I 1st said I wanted a Disney wedding, and after it was all said & done, I got calls from EVERYONE saying how much they LOVED IT...

Planner/Coordinator: A+
Kathleen Reynolds.... I just can't say enough about her.
Kathleen answered all my questions right away, was very patient with me since I emailed her almost every other day with ideas. She kept everything organized and exactly how I wanted it.

Flowers: A+
Rosie.... From the pictures you could see the flowers were beautiful.
I supplied Disney the Brooches and Ribbons for my bouquets. They did an awesome job. Exactly what I wanted, the right colors and look.

Cake: A+
I am still eating it... it's was SOOOOOO good. We cut a slice for pictures and then had it taken to Citricos. It was beautiful. Exactly how I pictured it.

Randy Chapman, I LOVE HIM... he was awesome. I have only seen a few pictures but I need to give him an A+ since Randy got to the hotel before he said he would, which was great cause he started snapping as soon as he walked in. He then stayed after the ceremony to get more shots. Not only was he very professional but he was fun, and really excited to work with. I recommend him to anyone, he was amazing

Video: A+
I still have not seen the video but Stan was a pleasure to work with. Even before the wedding he was great. He replied to all my emails and answered all my questions. He has a great attitude and was really fun.

Makeup/Hair: A+++
Beaute Speciale, Ana Rivera... These girls were amazing... They started right on time when they said, and were able to finish 6 make-up & hair all on time. We all looked great and they were tons of fun to hang out with. I will def. use them again if I ever have another event in Orlando.

Dinner: A+
Citricos... I can't say enough about it. The service was amazing, they catered to my every need. The food was the best I have had. They placed my favors as I asked and even held stuff for me in their office while we were at dinner. The best part... they placed our table facing the windows so when the cake came out we got to see the fireworks.

if I think of other things.. I'll add but I will say this... Disney is truely magical and if I had to do it all over again, I would do it in a heartbeat!!!

Hi Roberta,

I really don't have tips, but I could tell you one thing.. If you have your heart set on something def. get it. There were certain things that I was able to live without, for example the $2700 carriage and adding a full reception. I had the best day of my life, and I kept it simple. I spent money on the flowers, runner, and dress because I knew that these items would be in many pictures. for dinner we opted with going to a nice resturant instead of having a typical reception.

After being there a full week, my family and friends didn't want your typical 4 hour wedding with a DJ, we wanted to have a nice dinner, relax and enjoy the day without stress.

My only advice is, make a list of the things you have dreamt about, the total must-haves and take it from there...

Thank you so much... it was a magical day, I relive it in my head everyday. It was so much fun... from the moment I woke up that day it was fun and happy. I just hope every single Disney brides gets to enjoy their day as much as I did.
