We have been to DW several times as a family and had my DD and my DH's birthdays celebrated there. We are going for a fencing tournament at the WWof Sp in October which is a few days after my sons birthday so this is his birthday trip finally. I know that I can get him the t-shirt from the venue but can anyone give me an idea of something to surprise him with. He will be a JR in HS this year so I want to let him know how much we love him and it so difficult at this age without embassing him etc. I hope he will get a medal which will be great for him but I want to do something just for him being the great son he is. His Dad thinks I am silly but I think that this time is going too fast and I want him to remember this as much as his first time in DW.

That's a toughie...my first thought was a 17 yo young lady!LOL You might have read the trip report recently of the dad who surprised his son by flying his sons girlfriend to WDW for a couple extra days at the end of thier trip...I thought that was special. That might not be feasible for you though.
Does he like boats? Maybe rent a pontoon or do an Illumination cruise? The Breathless maybe??:earseek:

How about one of the back stage tours or para sailing in CR?

You might check out to see who is at hard rock live , I took my dd who is a Jr in High school to see nickleback and it was a very good concert and it was neat because we were right up in front and i never been that close at any concert. Happy Birthday to your son! If you have any questions about the concert there Pm me.

Unfortunately, he's too young for a night at Pleasure Island.
How about taking him to dinner and La Nouba? It's pretty thrilling, and spectacular, too!

If he isn't already, take an extra (what would be a school) day and take him to Disney Quest. Make sure you go during the day, as long as it's not a holiday or a weekend, he would just about have the hole place to himself. I know it's what my 15 yo wants on our next trip.

Thanks I think I will ask him how he feels about the dinner at his fav and then let him go for the day to DQ. He will be with a group of fellow fencers so that will be a great time for all of them. They will have the weekend off and they get 3 days out of school. They need to make up work so it isn't all good but heck DW and no school. My parents would never let me do that.
